I think the Ilorin derby was a fair game, no 'gentleman's agreement' between both sides. There were a couple of away draws last weekend. Plateau and JUTH have been ordered to look for new grounds |
Hi guys ![]() Four points clear at the top, 28 matches unbeaten(a new club record), I'm so excited. Great performance from our boys. Messi - when he isn't scoring, he is making some great assists, his 16th assist of the season; incredible.(and some punks say he doesnt deserve to be crowned the best) Villa - He has a knack for scoring braces. What an awesome first season he is having. His workrate is simply amazing. Iniesta - I love the way he has added another dimension to his game with his 'outside - the - box shooting' and he is scoring loads of goals as well. Pedro - Pedrito, the little assassin. He was all round brilliant. 10 goals in his last 10 games. Big kudos to the rest of the squad. A CDR s/final clash with Sevilla or Villareal. They played a 3 - 3 at the Madrigal. I prefer Sevilla. It seems like we have their PUK number. |
Should Nadal win, he will become the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four slams. Federer will be chasing his 5th Australian Open title. Nadal and Fed are both in great form at the moment. Federer won the Qatar Open in Doha while Nadal defeated Federer at the Abu Dhabi Open. |
Very thoughtful of Messi to 'wash' his FIFA Ballon D' Or award for us the fans by scoring a hatrick and equally answering his critics. His third hatrick of the season. 31 goals already this season. . .We are as good as in the s/finals. |
Maybach Music. I think he did two or three Maybach Music tracks but the one in the 'Deeper Than Rap' album, the one he featured T-Pain is just too dope |
e don reach like this? Anyways, I wish him the very best. He just might lead Leicester to the EPL |
smile ![]() |
I agree with the list 100%. CR, the greatest of all time? This is an insult to football. What has he achieved. 1 WPOTY award, 1 CL. . . wtf? The bulk of his goals are penalties. I'd add Raul Gonzales, Fernando Hierro, Alessandro Del Pierro, Gabriel Batistuta |
hmm. . . what a meal |
Good. He will be earning €900,000 monthly. |
Make CR no go jump for inside lagoon o ![]() Messi becomes the third player to win the WPOTY award back to back after Ronaldo De Lima and Ronaldinho. All three players that have won the award back to back have all played for Barca

Manchester United Plan Sensational £25m Move to Sign Barcelona Midfielder Sir Alex Ferguson is planning a stunning coup as he looks to make an offer for Barcelona’s young defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets who is in the middle of a contractual dispute with the Catalan club. The Spanish international is demanding a huge pay hike but the La Liga club are not willing to play ball and Manchester United are ready to make a huge offer to persuade the 22 year old to move to Old Trafford. Sergio Busquets is considered one of the hottest prospects in European football and has been a regular at the Nou Camp for the past two years and was played an important role in helping Spain win the World Cup last summer but El Mundo Deportivo reports his demands to receive a wage akin to his understudy Javier Mascherano have been turned down leaving the youngster furious. Ferguson is in need of tough tackling defensive midfielder, not least because Owen Hargreaves is a constant injury concern, and the Scot is hoping to make the most of the bad situation at Barcelona by making an attractive offer for the star in the making. Manchester United are willing to offer up to £25m for Sergio Busquets and given that Barcelona have Argentine Mascherano on standby then Pep Guardiola may deem it more reasonable to take an offer for the local born talent than have to readjust their pay scale as the Nou Camp boss will know that if he gives in to these demands then other players may also demand huge increases in pay. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2011/01/10/manchester-united-plan-sensational-25m-move-to-sign-barcelona-midfielder/ I think for the right price, we should let him go. We still have Mascherano and there's also Oriol Romeu from the La Masia that can do well in that position. It wont be bad if we let him go for £25m |
Court re-instates Owumi as NPL boss A Federal High court sitting in Lagos, has ordered the Nigeria Football Federation and the Nigeria Premier League Board to shelve the NPL chairmanship re-run election scheduled for tomorrow. The trial judge, Justice Okechukwu Okeke handed down the directive, following a suit filed by Mr Davidson Owumi, who was sacked by the NFF during its general assembly held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on December 29, 2010. The court adjourned till January 17, 2011, for hearing in the suit, and urged parties to maintain status quo pending the hearing of the motion. By implication Owumi would remain as chairman of the NPL until the determination of the substantial suit. Owumi’s counsel, in the suit, is asking for an order, restraining NFF and the League Board and other defendants whether by themselves, their servants, agents and or privies from implementing and/or enforcing the report of the Prof Akin Ibidapo_ Obe Arbitration panel. He is also praying the court to restrain NFF and the League Board from carrying out or give effect to the purported decision reached by NFF and the League Board at its yearly General Assembly in Uyo, annulling his election as chairman of the league Board. Owumi is praying the court to determine whether the members of the NFF Board and its chairman, Alhaji Aminu Maigari can carry out and or discharge the duties and functions of office by virtues of the election of August 26, 2010, which was annulled by Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court. He also want the court to determine whether the purported decision of the NFF and its chairman on December 29, to annul, his election as chairman of the Nigeria Premier League Board as well as the directive to the Board to conduct a fresh election within 14 days, while the suit is pending was not an affront on the integrity of the court. Owumi, had averred in an affidavit in support of the suit, that if the officials of NFF and the league board were not called to order by suspending the purported nullification and revert to the status quo, more havoc and damage would have been visited on him as it relates to football administration in Nigeria. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/01/court-re-instates-owumi-as-npl-boss/ |
Sharks players, officials in bus crash BARELY two weeks after they were rewarded with cars and cash gifts for winning the West African Football Union (WAFU) Cup by the Rivers State government. The domestic league and indeed the families of Sharks FC of Port-Harcourt players and officials would have been thrown into mourning after the Port-Harcourt side’s team bus was involved in a ghastly motor accident during the wee hours of Monday. Luckily, there were no fatalities, however, several players and officials suffered injury. A text message sent at 1:55am to NationSport by the club’s media officer, Confidence Idaa, who was also involved in the accident, revealed: "We have God to thank for our lives last night (1:43am) as our bus was involved in an accident. It somersaulted three times in Area 1 part of Abuja as we were on our way back from Forest in Plateau State where we were asked to return home as a result of the crisis in Jos. "Though no life was lost, I can tell you that some players and officials sustained various degrees of injuries. Terry Envoh had to be revived as he hit his head on the bus when it somersaulted. Not just Envoh, Kennedy Boboye hit his chest on the front seat and our goalkeeper trainer too broke his head. "As at now (2pm Monday) Terry Envoh is complaining of serious body pain, so, himself, Odinga Odinga and I are preparing to go and have an x-ray. Also Boboye is to have a scan on his chest after complaining of pains too. Gomo Unduku, Ernest Tiehbanyo, Flying Eagles skipper, Fortune Chukwudi and Chuks Ezeji were some members of the Sharks contingent that were also in the bus and who not only cheated death, but were also fortunate to escape without a scratch. Sharks were set for the game against Plateau United on Monday but the match is now sure to be postponed for the fourth time. http://thenationonlineng.net/web3/football-golf-boxing/24335.html |

MI not responding would have been class but then he has released a track and also featured on 'nobody tests me' and also the 'ten things you do after KH disses you' on Twitter. Let's not forget that he allegedly started the whole thingy with 'Fast Money, Fast Cars'. What is worth doing is worth doing well. Since MI responded, he should have finished off KH |
Absolutely well deserved. Messi was by miles the best player in the year under review. He was La Liga's top scorer and European Golden Boot winner with 34 goals in 35 matches and also the top scorer in the champions league with 8 goals. He scored 47 goals in all competitions. He went to the world cup, though he didnt score a goal, he had most shots in the tournament and was also in the running for the Golden Shoe Award. He made 2 assits and also won a man of the match award. Messi was unarguably the best player in the period under review. |

Congrats to Lionel Messi. He becomes only the 3rd player to win the WPOTY back to back after a fellow Cule greats, Ronaldo in 96 and 97 and Ronaldinho in 2004 and 2005. It is well deserved. This is the 7th time a cule player is winning the award. |
switch47:No mind them joor. Ipswich are just 3 points above the relegation zone in the championship and have lost 20 of their last 24 games. |
Congrats to Messi. Well deserved. He becomes only the third player to win the WPOTY back to back after Ronaldo in 1996 and 1997 and Ronaldinho in 2005 and 2006. |
MI should just throw in the towel. KH has dissing for a talent reekcwon:LMAO If this were a boxing bout and points are being scored, MI has not scored a single point. . . The best he could come up with is "Only one Kelly I know - Kelly Rowland" which is a goof actually and "Kelechukwu well done" - applauding KH for dissing him. . . This is turning out to be a walk in the park for KH, he is in cruise control here. |
Truth is nothing is working in the country. |
