Firstly how do I pick profitable keywords/niche I go to the best seller categories, you can choose between Kindle or book department.

criteria I look at search result not more than 1k, and average Bsr of all first book between 75k.

What I do if the search results is 1k is I niche down, using the keywords people are using in their search terms.
Let me use a niche I drop here as example:
The keyword is body language the result is more than 1k, but you can niche down using the keywords 101 because if you type body language on the search bar you will see 101 as suggestion and this keywords has result of 301 and the bsr rank of all the first book is 77k
