Events / #startupsouth4: Startup Leaders, Investors, Government Officials Gather In Owerr by meethumb: 9:09am On Jun 25, 2018
On November 2, 2018, Owerri the capital of Imo State will play host to #StartupSouth4 - arguably the biggest Startup and Entrepreneurship conference in the South-South and South-East.

Every year, #StartupSouth brings together the brightest startup founders, leading entrepreneurs, early stage investors, policy makers and startup incubators to a city in the South-South or South-East and allow them to connect, learn from each other and most importantly for founders in the region to secure investment.

It is also an opportunity to showcase the cities in the South-South/South-East and promote their potentials to potential investors. Participants at this year’s edition will have the opportunity to tour Owerri and enjoy a boat ride on the famous Oguta Lake.

After the last edition at Aba, two startups have gone on to raise combined $40,000 with another raising a follow-on seed of more than $20,000. Cumulatively, over $350,000 has been raised by #StartupSouth Alums with several more currently at different stages of deal negotiations.

“The main objective is to educate, connect and attract investment to Startups and Founders in the regions.”

The theme of this year is Nichely, Strongly, Global - an exploration of how cities within the region can go niche, amplifying their positions of strength to compete favorably in an interconnected globlized world.

#StartupSouth4 will provide a unique opportunity for startups to connect with investors, strategic partners, leading incubators/accelerators, and professional service firms from within and across the regions. The conference will feature Fireside chats with Successful Startup Founders, Policy Makers and Investors from across the world, Pitch Sessions, third party content/panel programming, Networking and post conference party and a boat cruise at the beauteous Oguta Lake.

Worthy of note is that this year, #StartupSouth is taking experimental steps to becoming an Event-as-a-Platform model featuring contents by partnering organisations. Brands, business communities, associations and anyone with a great content proposal capable of adding value to the participants (especially the Startup/SME communities) will be reviewed and approved.

The regular pre-conferences (now #Foretaste) - a pre-event/Tour of Ten different cities within the region - is scheduled to start on July 20, 2018 in Port Harcourt. #StartupSouth4 #Foretaste enlists a set of exciting activities leading up to the main event featuring Business Townhall meetings, Panel Session, interviews, Product presentation by partners, gifts and more.

Politics / BREAKING: Supreme Court Never Ordered Gtbank To Pay Me N14 Billion - Innoson by meethumb: 1:27pm On Jun 13, 2018
Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman of Innoson Motors, has deleted the fake news he circulated on social media that the Supreme Court has ordered GTBank to pay him N14 billion within 14 days.

According to Daily Independent, the businessman is now singing a new tune.

The newspaper said Innoson has now declared that there was no Supreme Court judgment against GTBank as earlier stated.

This was followed by a statement by his spokesman, Cornelius Osigwe, in which Innoson walked back from his declaration stating instead that “There have been a lot of misinterpretations on the Press Release published by Innoson Group on the decision of the Supreme Court.”

Last week, Innoson caused a social and online media storm by claiming that the Supreme Court had ruled in his favour for GTBank to pay him N14 billion.

Ohanaeze and others congratulated him for the ‘victory’.

However, records of the court proceedings showed no such ruling.

GTBank in a statement debunked Innoson’s claims as “false, mischievous and malicious.”

“There was no directive or order issued by the Supreme Court of Nigeria to the bank to make any payment to any of its debtor customer. We again reiterate that there is no iota of truth in the falsehood being peddled by desperate and mischievous elements and the public should disregard same in its entirety,” part of the bank’s press statement read.

Politics / Biafra: Declare South-east As ‘special Area’ – Orji Kalu Tells President Buhari by meethumb: 7:39am On Jun 12, 2018
Former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari's declaration of June 12 as Democracy Day in honour of Chief MKO Abiola.

Dr. Kalu also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to address the injustices and human right abuses suffered by the people of the South East of Nigeria during the Nigerian-Biafra civil war of 1967-1970, by the declaring the sub-region a ‘special area’.

The business mogul, who spoke in an interview with aviation reporters at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, shortly after arriving Nigeria from the United States of America (USA), commended President Buhari for addressing the injustices associated with the annulment of June 12, 1993 presidential election, by posthumously acknowledging the election as free and fair, as well as declaring Chief MKO Abiola as the legitimate winner of that election.

According to him, "the recognition of the June 12 elections as legitimate and MKO Abiola as the winner has portrayed Buhari as a true democrat considering that his two predecessors (presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan) had failed to validate that election during their reigns".

Sequel to this, the former governor, however, said President Buhari should extend the same gesture to the Chairman of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), Prof. Humphrey Nwosu, who superintended over the June 12, 1993 elections.

He also sought Buhari’s extension of his reconciliation gesture to the people of the South East where millions of lives were lost and property destroyed during the civil war to assuage the feelings of hurt among the people of the region.

Kalu said: “President Buhari has started a good thing by honouring Chief MKO Abiola and declaring June 12 as Democracy Day. Now that he is working, he should also remember Prof. Humfrey Nwosu, the man who conducted the freest and fairest election in Nigeria. Nwosu should also be honoured.

“And I want President Buhari to go a step further and declare the South East a special area, where people in the region were given ill treatment during the war. People lost lives, they lost property, and they were given just 20 pounds.

“He has already made a good step by paying the Biafran police their entitlements. But, the region should be considered a special area by the government because, if that is added to what Buhari has done, in terms of those who lost their lives during the struggle for the actualisation of June 12 mandate, God will start forgiving Nigeria,” Kalu added.

Politics / Gov Ikpeazu: It Baffles Me, In Nigeria We Import Everything Even ‘yo-yo Bitters’ by meethumb: 2:06pm On Jun 06, 2018
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has frowned at the rate of the things Nigerians import from other countries which can be easily produced here in Nigeria.

This is even as he urged researchers in universities to target their research towards national needs in order to fast-track development in the country.

Dr. Ikpeazu said this, in Nsukka, on Monday, during the 14th Eni Njoku memorial lecture.

He said researchers should link their research on the need of the people so as to stop the country to further being a dumping ground for goods produced in other countries.

His words, “It baffles me that we import Swedish bitters from Sweden and yo-yo bitters from Ghana, does it mean that researchers in the country can not produce bitters for Nigerians,

“Must the country import every thing from abroad.

He commended the late Eni Njoku who used his knowledge to solve some national problems through his research work.

“we are celebrating Eni Njoku because he used his intellectual and research to solve problems as well as contribute to national development.

“I commend department of Biological science University of Nigeria Nsukka and family of Eni Njoku for the sustainace of the memorial lecture in honour of the scientist and intellectual icon,” he said.

Also in a keynote address, Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, described research in Nigeria as ‘poorly funded’ by grant-awarding bodies in Nigeria.

She said that the situation alongside lack of research policies have affected access to international grants when the applications are made and called for institution of seed grants by universities and faculties in the country.

Prof. Adeyeye made this known her titled “Science and Science Policy for National Development” at the 14th Eni Njoku Memorial Lecture at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Politics / Abia Assembly Passes Anti-Grazing, Genotype, Insertion Of Blood Group Laws by meethumb: 10:19pm On Jun 05, 2018
The Abia State House of Assembly has passed into law the bill to control nomadic cattle rearing and prohibition of grazing routes in the state, sponsored by Rt. Honorable Martins Azubuike, member representing Isiala Ngwa North state constituency.

Speaking to journalists after passage of the bill, the speaker, Rt. Honorable Chikwendu Kalu said the anti grazing law is necessary to checkmate the worrisome activities of herdsmen who he said have been a major threat to lives, property and peace of the land.

The speaker added that the law stipulates that every cattle entering into state must be registered at the entry point to the state and must be conveyed in a vehicle, failure of which would attract seizure of the cattle and severe sanctions.

Kalu also noted that the law has stipulated strict sanctions for defaulters, charging the arm saddled with the responsibility of implementing it to be up and doing.

The House also passed into law the bill providing for the compulsory insertion of blood group and genotype of Abia citizens in Identity cards.

Abia Breaking News also reported that, the sponsor, member representing Aba North state constituency, Dr Blessing Nwagba said the law will help families to avert the troubles they go through by checkmating incompatible partners before they get married.

The Aba North legislator explains the law will be implemented by the state ministry of health in collaboration with other ministries as well as the police.

She also explained that the law will give legal backing and complement the sickle cell pet project of the wife of the governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu and thanked her for supporting the bill to pull through at the state legislature.

Politics / [unedited Video] Killings During PDP Congress: What Orji Kalu Actually Told Pres by meethumb: 10:56am On Jun 03, 2018
ABACITYBLOG has obtained the original video of what Dr. Orji Uzor, former governor of Abia State and a chieftain of All Progressive Congress, APC, told the newsmen at the just concluded APC South East Zonal Committee Executive meeting.

This is following a video released by Oak TV, where Orji Kalu was quoted as said that, "a lot of people used to die during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, congress, but in APC, although, they may have quarrel but they settle it amicably amongst themselves.

Reacting through a counter statement released by Mr. Kenneth Udeh, a special Media Assistant to Dr. Orji Kalu, the video which he tagged as purported is totally "mischievous" and the handiwork of the enemies of democracy, political opponents who are intimated by the soaring profile of Dr. Kalu

He said; "Let me categorically and unequivocally state that Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu never made such a statement, his statement was grossly misunderstood and misquoted .

"Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has never and will never partake in the taking of human life for whatsoever purpose and that the video being circulated is fake, doctored and an unfortunate negative use of the media technology to tarnish the "hard earned " image of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu of international repute .

"We strongly consider this as a calculated "mischievous" handiwork the enemies of democracy and the "evil craft " of political opponents who are intimated by the soaring profile of Dr. Kalu.

"Since his early days in holding leadership positions . Orji Uzor Kalu has always been committed to the promotion of peace and democratic resolutions in the country.

"It's saddening that the " Media under reports " the peaceful activities and programmes embarked upon by Dr. Kalu but are swift in reporting negative materials.

"On the 16th of September 2017 , Dr. Kalu hosted thousands of youths under the auspices of the Junior Chamber International to an annual youth sumit which included a "Peace Walk" aimed at orientation of people on the need to embrace peace .

"On December 2017 Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu proposed the construction a centre for peace and conflict resolution at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).

"During the IPOB unrest in the Southeast rather than tow the path of "Selfish Interest" to score cheap political points like most politicians Dr. Kalu never hesitated to condemn the "acts" of the Youths which was capable of throwing the nation into another civil war.

"It is on record that Dr. Kalu has always preached the need to respect the rule of law at every event or programme hosted by him.

"It is also on record that that Dr. ORJI KALU is not a "Desperate Politician" all through the times he contested and the results manipulated against him , he has never resulted to any form of violence but rather sought judicial redress.

"In 2007 when President Obasanjo attempted to manipulate the constitution for his selfish 3rd Term Agenda Dr. Orji Kalu stood courageously to oppose the agenda this averted a violent crisis that was about to consume the nation.

"Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu is a responsible family man , a stuanch Catholic , peace advocate and detribalized Nigerian of international repute and would never decend to the lowest ebb of life by engaging in any form of violence, blackmail or cheap propaganda not to talk of taking of human life to settle scores .

"We are in a political season so we urge the good people of Nigeria not be distracted and be on guard against media propaganda of this nature.

"We challenge the media, the political class including current and past political associates of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu to present any visual report of violence that can be attested to Dr. Orji Kalu since he joined politics .

"We leave you with the full original video of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu where he spoke to journalists immediately he came out the meeting hall gave his address thanked the journalists and left.

The May 30 Biafra Day sit-at-home order observed in Aba today turned bloody as stray bullet from soldiers killed a young man.

The sit at home protest, which was ordered by the leadership of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) recorded a full compliance in Aba and its environs.

It was gathered that soldiers during the (exercise) had approached from Aba/Owerri road towards the Port Harcourt Road/Uratta Junction were some alleged IPOB members had reportedly gathered in the morning of the sit-at-home protest.

On getting close to the junction, the soldiers started shooting sporadically which forced the alleged IPOB members to leave the vicinity.

As the soldiers continued shooting, a stray bullet according to report hit the young man, identified as Nnamdi Kelvin Ikemeh, a 25 years old fashion designer who came to play football, but was later running from the scene.

“On getting here, we all were watching from our houses when their bullet hit a boy called Nnamdi Ikemeh from Chigbu Street. When the soldiers saw he was down, they started shouting at everyone to run and sit at home. Before you knew it, they dragged the dead man towards their van and sped off. Politics / May 30 Sit-At-Home: We Will Deal Decisively With Biafra Groups - Police by meethumb: 8:27am On May 28, 2018
The Nigerian Police Force, NPF, Anambra State Command has vowed to deal decisively with any individual or groups, under any guise, who disrupts public peace.”

The warning comes following the May 30 sit-at-home order by the members of Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB.

However, the police has insisted that IPOB, as a proscribed organisation, lacked the legitimacy to declare a protest order, but IPOB said police can’t stop it from carrying out its religious obligation to Biafra’s fallen heroes.

Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, Mr. Garba Umar, who described the group as misguided elements and urged the people in the state to disregard the order and go about their lawful normal businesses, assured that the State Police Command is on top of the situation.

“The command, with other security agencies, will not hesitate to deal decisively with any individual or groups, under any guise, who disrupts public peace.”

Reacting over the statement, IPOB, through a press release by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said there is no going back on the May 30 sit-at-home order, describing it is as “oblation” that would take place in no fewer than 100 countries of the world.

Career / “70% Of The Time I’d Want To Call It Quits” – Chidera Okolie Shares Her Success by meethumb: 6:16pm On May 16, 2018
Renowned Nigerian writer and multiple award winning author, Ms. Chidera Nneoma Okolie, comes into the circle of successful people who have thought of calling it a quits in their various careers in life.

The Young Barrister who hails from Anambra State in Southeastern part of Nigeria told ABACITYBLOG that multiple times, she had thought of quitting her career and venture into another lucrative craft.

Going down the lane, Ms. Okolie, who doubles as the founder of #IdiosCreatives, an initiative which is poised at "Breeding a new generation of Writers in Nigeria", shares her success story.

Read her success story below;

"70% of the time I’d want to call it quits. To be a successful writer in Nigeria is a drag. You are in a boxing ring fighting off the million obstacles in your way, the most challenging being the lackadaisical attitude to Literature in Nigeria.

Have I thought of relocating? Yes.
Have I thought of drifting to more lucrative “crafts”? Yes.
Have I thought of auditioning for BBN? Oh yes recently.

I’ve had all sorts of thoughts..some too unsavory to list. I like what I see when I google my name, dad would say “a good name before luxury”, but I’m a young girl and a little luxury won’t hurt. I’d stare at the countless stories I’m yet to complete..where is the motivation?

Then I’d conclude I’m not putting in enough work..Oh wait, is it the genre? Should I attempt Romance? Should I make the next book about me?

Then I’d digress to @ikosakioduwa ‘s words to me sometime last year. “Writers, just like the rest of us, have to fight for their spot in this country.”

#Facts

I’d sit back and ponder on the good old days..Primary school..early Secondary school, when majority of us were passionate writers in our own little way..we’d scribble our stories for mummy and daddy to read..the smile on their faces were all the gratification we needed. Then we grew older and had to worry about being cool and fitting in..”writers aren’t cool people”, we thought. Mum and dad’s smile wasn’t enough anymore, we needed more..external validation of our peers. Yup..that was me.

I was in one of my zones one day when it struck me..WHAT IF WE GREW A NEW GENERATION OF WRITERS? The ones whose passions are yet to be diluted? What if we churn out over 100 young published authors every year?

The country will be forced to adjust..writers will reclaim their place and we’d have more readers..YES! That’s it.

I launched #IdiosCreatives.

In a bid to keep the passion alive, we are publishing the short stories and poems of 100 students in the Primary and Secondary schools in a book titled “A COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES AND POEMS BY THE NIGERIAN SCHOOL CHILDREN”..a platform of some sort. We are doing this FOR FREE..the goal is Nigeria..A state or two at a time♥️

Politics / Read Full Speech Of Atiku Abubakar At Chatham House On His Presidential Ambition by meethumb: 4:14pm On Apr 25, 2018
Below are quotes from H.E Atiku Abubakar during his Speech at Chatham House on how to get Nigeria working again this morning.

Atiku’s speech was exclusively on his ideologies for a better Nigeria as 2019 election is fast approaching. The speech was split into 10 paragraphs.

It reads:

1. I particularly want to thank Nigerian nationals who are present here today. Your love for Nigeria is evident in that you have left your regular pursuits to be here to interact with lovers of Nigeria. Your presence inspires me.

2. The question now is, why are we saddled with a heavy and almost unsustainable debt burden twelve years after President Olusegun Obasanjo and I provided the leadership that paid off Nigeria’s entire foreign debt of $32 billion in one fell swoop?

3. My idea is for the introduction of Matching Grants to be taken from the revenue accruable to the Federal Government for the purpose of matching IGR of each state in order to encourage states to become self-reliant.

4. I will make certain rivers are dredged to open up the hinterlands of the North. Licenses would be given to state governments to begin immediate exploitation of resources in their jurisdictions.

5. There has not been a year in the last twenty years that I have not set up a new enterprise to employ Nigerians. The latest being that we brought the Chicken Cottage franchise to Nigeria which will be creating direct and indirect jobs all across the country.

6. If we want Nigeria to succeed, we must break with the misguided notion that the Federal Government, or the President, knows best, and that no one else can be trusted.

7. When I talk about restructuring, I am not talking about just constitutional tweaks, I am talking about a cultural revolution. It is not about re-shuffling a few responsibilities or resources, but about disrupting the authoritarian politics our democracy has inherited.

8. These are some of the ways I believe Nigeria’s states can improve their capacity, increase their revenues & better manage their local economies which are critical to safety, prosperity & welfare of all Nigerians and will allow my homeland to realize its true potential.

9. We will streamline the operations of the Sovereign Wealth Fund, the Excess Crude Account and the Stabilization Account which is currently embedded in the Revenue Allocation Formula for more effective stabilization outcomes.

10. I will extend railways to connect workers to jobs, suppliers to buyers, students to universities, and parents to their children in every major city in every state.

Let me end with these words: Some Nigerian states are poor not because they are not receiving a fair share of oil money but because they are not receiving a fair shot at true federalism. Only restructuring can correct that.

Politics / Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Has Become A Ghost People Are Seeing Him Everywhere - Brothe by meethumb: 8:59am On Apr 21, 2018
Prince Emma Kanu, the brother of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has said the way the rumuor of his brother's whereabouts is going, it seems he has become a ghost.

Emma was reacting following the recent rumour that his brother, Nnamdi, whom the military invaded their home in Umuahia late last year because of his agitation for Biafra state, has recently been seen in Ghana.

ABACITYBLOG Recall that soldiers invaded the house of the Kanus late last year and since then; both the IPOB leader and his parents had not been seen or heard of, fuelling speculation that they may have been detained or killed by the military. But the security agencies have consistently denied the charge.

However, reacting to the fresh rumours making the rounds that Nnamdi Kanu and his parents are neither dead nor in detention as they had been traced to Ghana and Umuahia respectively.

Emma said, “If the military knows Nnamdi Kanu and my parents’ whereabouts, they better let us know and provide them without delay. If they know where they are, they should go and bring them, it’s as simple as that. How come my parents are with us in Umuahia and we cannot see or communicate with them? It’s impossible; they know what they are doing.

“Is it not the same military that denied the invasion of our house that came out now to say my parents are in Umuahia and Nnamdi in Ghana; they should go to Umuahia and bring them, let’s see or go to Ghana and bring Nnamdi Kanu let’s see.”

“The other time, some people said they saw Nnamdi Kanu going to London through Malaysia, others have said they saw him in Germany, Ghana and Cameroon. The military will soon come out to say they saw him in Kano. It’s like my brother has now become a ghost that he should be seen everywhere. If this is so, it goes to confirm our fears that the military who took him away when they raided our home last year had killed him and his ghost is now moving about in those places.”

“All these are tissues of lies being propped by the military with the intention of diverting attention from people asking them where my parents and brother are. All these are tissues of lies from the pit of hell being junked out by the military thinking that will stop the family, Biafrans and the international community from asking them where they kept Nnamdi and his parents because they (military) saw them last.

Politics / Atiku Abubakar Speaks Of Taking A New Wife In Dubai, Pays $1M As Dowry by meethumb: 8:20am On Apr 19, 2018
The former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has reacted over the rumors making the rounds across social media platforms that he took a new wife last Saturday in Dubai where he paid the sum of $1,000,000 as dowry.

Addressing the issue that brewed the rumour, The Waziri of Adamawa said the rumour is quite unfortunate and a total misinformation.

The reaction which came through a Press Conference organised by Chief Dr. Emeka Kalu (ECK), Director General of Atikulated Agenda 2019, last weekend, also tagged the reports as a calculated lies and propaganda meant to run down a potentially deep rooted opposition that Atiku has proved to be in the coming election.

According to Chief Emeka Kalu, "His Excellency added a daughter-in-law to his family as his son took a wife which event took place in Dubai. In order words, His Excellency did not take a wife as alleged by his detractors.

He called on Nigerians to make efforts in order to get quality information and stop settling for roadside media hypes that project falsehood and PHD Syndrome.

He said; "It is worrisome that popular bloggers like, Linda Ikeji, NaijCom, etc have this news with live images of the event without bordering to apply the professional ethic of investigative journalism, rather than spreading lies.

"For the records, popular Nigerian entertainers and senators like Ben Murray Bruce were in attendance, and therefore it was nothing done in secrecy.

"Then, one begins to wonder why people will chose to sale petty lies to score cheap political goals or is it about the drive for traffic?.

"While detractors continue to play out their character-assassinating antics, it is proper that well-meaning Nigerians, who have seen the goodwill Nigeria will earn if Atiku Abubakar becomes successful in 2019 election, to embark on massive campaign in mobilizing, supporting and getting ready to vote for Atiku in the 2019 presidential election as it is well believed that by the grace of God, People Democratic Party (PDP) will react to the peoples’ cry and hand the presidential flag to Atiku.

Politics / T.a Orji Looted Billions Of Naira Meant For Development Of Abia – Group Tells Fg by meethumb: 7:25am On Apr 15, 2018
A group, known as Abia Progressives Forum (APF) has reminded the federal government that the Senator, representing Abia Central Senatorial Zone and immediate past governor of Abia State, Chief Theodore Orji, looted several billions of naira meant for the development of the state during his tenure as the Abia State governor.

This is even as the group threatened to sue the FG and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), if they fail to include the name of the Senator in the yet to be released part of the looters’ list.

Speaking to newsmen, the the Chairman of the APF, Mazi Okechukwu Okwuonu, explained that the call for the inclusion of T.A Orji in the list was borne out of the desire to ensure that the monumental fraud which characterised the eight years of his administration in Abia would not go unchecked.

Okwuonu called for the prosecution of the former governor and his son, who is currently the Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly over alleged corruption.

According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war will not be complete if the Presidency and EFCC fail to beam their searchlight on Senator Orji and his cohorts.

“In fact, to set the record straight, the looting under his administration was unprecedented and massive. That is why Abians did not witness.

Culture / BREAKING: Nnia Nwodo Suspended As Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo President by meethumb: 1:30pm On Apr 08, 2018
The President General of the Igbo’s Social Political Group Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Dr Nnia Nwodo has been Suspended.

In statement made available to newsmen, Nwodo's Suspension followed the outcome of the 7man Investigative Panel set up to Investigate the Activities of the President General.

The Statement titled; OHANAEZE YOUTH WING’S FINAL VERDICT ON CHIEF NNIA NWODO’S OHANAEZE NDIGBO SHAM PRESIDENCY

It reads; "With the 7-Day ultimatum given to the embattled President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Dr. Nnia Nwodo, having expired and having had him instead of clearing his sullen hands from the weighty allegations of highhandedness and turning Ohanaeze Ndigbo into a political appendage party for those that could pay and pick his greedy bills – the main issue why he was asked to clear his names – to even given order that he has no constitutional rights to do calling for termination of leadership and elections into the Youth and women wings for querying him for his gross antisocial behaviours.

We, the well meaning and rightly focused Ohanaeze Youth Wing, OYW under the President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isisguzoro having earlier-on reaffirmed our confidence in our present Executives; hereby, in a joint meeting with Ohanaeze Ndigbo Women Wing, led by Lolo ….as a well guided Igbo citizens having realised that Dr. Nnia Nwodo has become Eze onyagwana that already crossed the Rubicon of ideological clarity and seemed irretrievably given to dancing naked at the market square with a fasces infested cloths (see our initially catalogued Nwodo’s constitutional breaches in online and print media) hereby reaffirm our faith the service and glory of Igbo nation.

Therefore, we will no longer have Dr. Nnia Nwodo to continue doing his ignoble businesses with Igbo identity and political interests, and hereby arrive at the following decisions; as advised by the 7 Man Investigation committee that Nnia Nwodo failed to appear before, to clear his names which he bluffed:

1. That, we the Ohanaeze Youth Wing, OYW and Ohanaeze Women Wing had for so long tolerated the shameful and debased politics of Chief Nnia Nwodo led Ohanaeze Ndigbo; while he sidelines the various organs of Ohanaeze Ndigbo including Ime Obi and his 24 – man led EXCOS that are there to represent their various localities and States and having relegated them to the backgrounds to getting little or no attention from their respective state, socio-cultural and political constituencies; and charters of offices and demands.

We hereby find Nwodo loathsome and guilty of anti-Igbo politicking and badly moneyed-Igbo polity killer-character that in the first circumstance had no role for political and social services not just Ndigbo’s. Having failed to appear before the 7 man panel to clear himself of all the weighty gross breaches of office and constitution of Ohanaaeze Ndigbo, we take the Investigative Panel’s submission that by so doing he seens to have nothing to prove wrongs as catalogued against him by Ohanaeze Youth Wing; Chief Nnia Nwodo is hereby suspended and should not be seen around Ohanaeze Ndigbo secretariat nor operate by proxy! He remains suspended!

2. Having seen Chief Nnia Nwodo wanting in character, intelligence and public image-making befitting the Igbo’s apex body Ohanaeze Ndigbo; and holding vital evidences on how he have been collecting and hunting for monies at the expense of the Igbo nation, Biafra and Nigeria plights, from one government house to another and as well with Nwodo been at the becks and calls of the money-bags/politicians doing errand boy Ohanaeze Presidency. Nwodo remains suspended!

3. That Nnia Nwodo occupies the vintage Ohanaeze Ndigbo presidency and still talking from both sides of his mouth to soiling the preeminent Ohanaeze concept, not just Ohanaeze Ndigbo, leading to our earlier calls for him to give accounts of his stewardship but he instead of taking the ample opportunity to clear his mess, took to media charades announcing that Ohanaeze Youth and Women wings, were long suspended and there would be elections for the new leadership to pilot their affairs. Nwodo, remains suspended!

Politics / Chima Anyaso: Why I May Not Support Buhari’s Re-election In 2019 by meethumb: 9:26am On Apr 03, 2018
Dr. Chima Anyaso, a member of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State – has stated the real reason why he may not support Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019.

Anyaso, in an interview with The Sun, said although, It’s President Buhari’s right to seek for re-election in 2019, but he cannot support his father at such age to contest for presidential post in Nigeria.

He noted that, “This is because he has to go for rallies and that means he has to visit the 36 states. But If he (Buhari) is strong enough to do that, it is his right, so I cannot tell him not to do that because he knows his health condition and capacity.

“If his capacity can carry him, all is well and good, but if I only have one vote just like Obasanjo said, I will vote the candidate that is most qualified. And the candidate must convince me, and the only way the candidate can convince me is through his record, his business record and what we see during the campaign process.

“We’ll see what the candidate will do, what he will say and what he has done.

Speaking on what Nigerians including Igbo people should do come 2019 general election, Anyaso said; “The Igbo should come together and unite as one, the Hausa people should as well come together as one. The Yoruba people should do the same and together in unity, we should choose who will represent us.

“In politics, you don’t take decision based on sentiment; because we have been bought over, we should be honest and do the right thing. It is about time we do the right thing so that this country can attain greater heights.

“But they have been busy going round in circles and that is why I am interested in seeing young people come on board.
