@ Take it easy on the poster, infact you are trying to miscostrue the whole essence of this public plea. Apparently, you don't have much to say, allow others. @Poster It takes a lot of humility to do this, i belive also if your guy is a nairalander, he would be able to read between lines. Take it easy on yourself, i feel your pains. When you try drown your troubles in tears, you just teach them how to swim. Be calm. |
Honestly, i wouldn't want to pick among great African writers who have all paid their dues in the literary world. But asked to choose, CHINUA ACHEBE'S - Things fall apart is da bomb. |

To me HADLEY CHASE is one individual that made one lasting impression on my life. He's simply out of this world. I've read over 75 copies of his novels. I sometimes wish he's still alive, he is one person i would really love to meet. He has a way with words that makes you kinda tick. He's an expert in the world of description, to me, only few compares to him. Here is an excerpt from one of my best : LIKE A SHOT IN THE BACK ; '' I've been around and i've known a lot of girls in my time. They've given me a lot of grief and a lot of fun. Now, girls are funny animals. You never know where you are with them. They don't often know where they are with themselves. It's no good trying to find out what makes them tick, it just can't be done. They have more lives than an army of cats have lives, and all you can hope for is to spot the mood you're after, when it turns up and step in quick. Hesitate and you are a dead duck, unless you're one of these guys who likes a slow approach, that might get you somewhere in a week or a month or even a year. But that's not the way i like it. I like it quick and sudden: LIKE A SHOT IN THE BACK''. Respect man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you tu much |
One of my earliest rhymes, long back, enjoy. TORTOISE He committed a sin And thought he was never seen; The long arm of the law Caught him and brought it to fore; He was brought before a judge Which he attempted to dodge; He was thrown into a cesspit Which all deemed fit; He was there a long time And never complained of the smelling mine; When he saw someone coming To release him in the morning; ''Hurry'' Tortoise mouthed ''The stench down here is unbearable'', he shouted. ![]() |
Dedicated to the memory of my friend FRED Here lies Fred Who was alive and is dead Had it been his father I had much rather Had it been his brother Still better than another Had it been his sister No one would have missed her Had it been the whole generation Still better for the nation But since 'tis Fred Who was alive and is dead- There's no more to be said. |
I see your smile And all seem worthwhile, In your eyes, there is light To brighten up my dark night, You are gay and you fill my life with joy I'm like a child with a new toy, Very excited and curious But sometimes destructive and furious, Thank you so much for your love It's like a nice soft warm glove. |
First and foremost, you made him the reason for your existence. Mistake number one. Don't get me wrong, i believe in love, and ofcourse i believe you love him. But, listen, give him some air. If he wants to frolic, please just hold yourself a bit, allow him, if he's yours believe me, he will come to his senses and to you. Don't tell his family members anything. I f you can, continue calling them just on a normal jist, get close to them. Meanwhile, keep your eyes open wide, you see, nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances. I WISH YOU THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
color do you reside in warri? then i need not worry; now distanced could be shortened our scope further broadened; you still under strain? could you please relax the brain; or, could we relate? to enable us cogitate; honestly, i do love that from my innermost heart; anywhere in oil city will simply be a beauty. |
julery:Listen, you are not been a man atall. Let me start by asking you some questions. 1)She got introduced to some guys like 5 months back by who? 2)When she was receiving those calls from the guy, what was your reaction? 3)Since she came back from her adventure, why did you decide to act dumb? I mean, i don't think you have any genuine intention for this girl, because if you do, you would be asking a lot of questions right from day one. And if you continue with your lips sealed, she would probably come back with an engagement ring one of this days. Hey, if you don't stand for something, you fall for anything. |
Lekana dear i don't think i can bear your input so far rendering it threadbare; our ryhming thread please, don't dread; just an advice don't make it look like a vice; could you ryhme more that's what is meant for; hope you comprehend so we don't leave you behind. |
This is highly uninspiring, a thread meant to educate and enlighten, turning into a battle field for two expected adults who pride themselves as knowing it all, been there, done that. Please, you guys should give us a break and scram, we need some air. Joy this guys have really drawn me away from the status quo, but i hope you take the advice and suggestion of worthy nairalanders who have deemed it fit to help you on your quest. I wish you the best!!!!! @ orikinla, ayomoroco, outside show is poor substitute of inner worth. |
@color U know, i totally agree with you, people from no where stroll into the thread, without considering what is all about, start typing rubbish and expect us to enjoy what could have been a wonderful thread. With due respect to the poster, the story is totally disjointed. I'm out, |
Angel empy, i mistakenly posted the upper reply through a friend's username (also a nairalander). I stumbled upon this ryhme i wrote years back during NYSC in Jos, hope you enjoy it. They found me in Kuru A pleasant little town close to Bukuru; They found me living in a shaded brick home In a wide avenue with trees like dome; They found me alone Frantically battling with a chicken bone; They found me living a comfortable life Certainly not one short of rife; They found me looking very lean though, i still appeared clean; They found me after tedious and difficult search After four years of dead ends and endless research- But they found me, |
color DON'T QUIT when things go wrong, as they sometimes will, when the road you are trudging seems all uphill, when the funds are low and the debts are high, and you want to smile but you have to sigh, when care is pressing you down a bit, rest, if you must-but don't you quit, life is queer with its twists and turns, as every one of us sometimes learns, and many a failure turns about, when he might have won had he stuck it out; don't give up, though the pace seems slow- you might succeed with another blow, success is failure turned inside out- the silver tint of the clouds of doubt- and you can never tell how close you are, it may be near when it seems afar; so stick to the fight when you are hardest hit- it's when things get worse that you mustn't quit! |
color, your rhymes so full of grief sometimes even more brief; makes me wonder or rather ponder; what could be wrong even when you sound so strong; you paint a pathetic picture and the answer to the future; you state so vivid this makes me livid; you rhyme with so much ease this makes me please; but your constant distress makes me a little restless; could you please confide maybe i can provide?; listen, from a sincere heart this is not tit for tat; wishing you the best and not trying to be a pest. |
colours, i think you are da'bomb sorry, not like in da tomb all you ladies are doin us proud i can't b'liv wat i found guys, u are not left out i tell you, without any doubt some are talented y some look rented still, i'm happy to be here though, not to dare rhymes are easy, time is shorte prose has never been my forte this is mine hope it will be worth a dime the minutes mock my writing block i want to bid each ticking clock to stop the ticking and to lock you may ask if you note why the lines i just wrote are not broken by ryhme into rows |
Bro, you've lost it completely. I mean, how would you feel if some lunatic(of your type) suddenly wakes up from a terrible nightmare and demands your wife? I've carefully read your statements from last year till now and could not honestly fathom what you really wanted from a married woman. You sound so stupid. Please do us all a favour - get the f**k outta here. You make me sick - lunatic! NOTE : An unexamined life is not worth living. ![]() |
Never mistake motion for action. Every tide ebbs, leaving beautiful pebbles behind. We live as we like, but seldom like as we live. The fearful unbelief is unbelief in yourself. Low-lying land drinks its own water and that of other places. |
This issue need not be overflowed. I mean let us first define what God really had in mind on the issue of marriage. Marriage is a divine institution and a natural contract by which a man and a woman become husband and wife, for the production and upbringing of children in the fear and nurture of the living God. A woman denying her husband sex, should have concise reason for that, same goes for the man. It should not be a one way traffic. I think what we should be doing here is offering solution to the root cause and not throwing jabs, insults and all what not to each other. This is a sensitive matter, until you are married you might never understand what this particular topic entails. Man's second childhood begins when a woman gets hold of him. It is a different ball game from mere girlfriend and boyfriend thing. In the words of Longfellow : As unto bow the cord is, As unto the man is woman, Though she bends him, she obeys him, Though she draws him, yet she follows, Useless each without the other. |
They've all missed the bus to reality. Stupid punks who think they are the in-thing. Sent to school to get degrees, preferred to get initiated into rubbish secret cults that has no good intention nor concrete plans for them. When they fail they blame everything around them, including their toiling parents. NOTE : Crooked by nature is never made straight by education! See cultism, see you. If you are that brave, rescue your country Nigeria. hhhhiiiiiiiissssssss ![]() |
Get some home work done, be a good girl. ![]() |
I sympathize with you greatly. You see, marriage is the voluntary union for life of one man and one woman; to the exclusion of all others. The picture i'm painting here is that, once you get in be ready to stick to it. Man's second childhood begins when a woman gets hold of him. Count yourself lucky that your fiancee deemed it fit to go the road of confession. It would have been worse if this was coming in after your marriage with her. Get yourself together, if you are convinced that she is truly sorry for her misdemeanour, forgive and forget it. BUT be very sure she has changed or turned back from her road of adventure (thats what i call it). Finally, pray that GOD gives you the strength to encounter that which is to come, that you may be brave in peril, constant in in tribulation, temperate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loving and loyal one to another. ![]() |
This is not funny atall. I have some questions for you. 1)If the first guy had been bold enough to ask you out, would you have agreed? 2)Do you really have any feelings for any of this guys - i mean feelings that could lead to marriage or are you doing this just for the fun of it? 3)Do you think (in your best of judgement) you are doing this guys any good by watching them do battle over you? Seriously, i think you should be careful because CLEVERNESS CAN TAKE YOU UP, BUT ONLY INTEGRITY KEEPS YOU THERE. |
