As much as I agreed with what you posted I'm not okay with the bolded... They don't have to lie to get the visa which I'm sure you did not lie to get the visa.

I lied at a point which I felt was relevant, my passport shows I travel and return just after a week in a country..i told them I've been to S.A and also Begium when I was 13..Just wanted to boost my travel history which was not in my new passport.. It's just part of the story to make me talk longer....

My Observation at the embassy that fateful day I was given a visa::::
1. Dress smartly, no one cares about you tagging your ID card on your shirt.. (I wore a short sleeve and plain trousers)
2.Always put a smile but laugh at all.. they are serious...
3.Stop carrying big files if they are irrelevant, be as simply as u can please.
4.Dont answer a question and stop, just continue for some seconds, E.g What countries have you been to? Don't just say Ghana,Mali and India.. It's better to say I was in Ghana in August 2016 for a leadership conference of course sponsored by my firm, in Mali in 2013 for a vacation and also in India in 2012 for a friend's wedding.. Please say with dates, it will help even if incorrect.
5.Dont be quick to say you are going to US to come back, they know that answer, Simply say stuffs like I will be staying in the States for two weeks after which I will fly to Dubai for a talk show which will last for two days before returning to Nigeria.. Don't just say for two weeks and stop..Talk like you have other plans.
6.Above all please be confident, it's not a do or die affair, look them in the face and explain, demonstrate too and don't lie much because u can contradict yourself..
7.If you filled that you earn 300,500 naira and that question is thrown to you, Pls don't just say I earn 300,500..Say stuffs like this" I earn a little above 300,000 excluding tax"...Dont just spell out what you filled, those people are intelligent.
8.while on the line, you will notice Alot of people being denied visa, you will hear am sorry,am sorry it please don't be discouraged, be bold and approach them.. God can still do it for you..

Hello guys, I got a visa to US last year November, and I want to leave naija by March this year,i once was nearly denied my journey to Ethiopia one time because I didn't have up-to 100 dollars with me so I had to run out of the airport, asked friends to transfer cash to my account which I changed to dollars before the airline allowed me to travel, I later learnt that's called BTA... please I need to know how much I should at least have this time am running to United States so I will not encounter such a disgrace...
