Thank you Edward 2018. I should add that the boundaries are protected with a 6 coach fence all round. But the community encroached, broke the fence and tried to resell a part of it.
Properties / How Do I Protect This Land? by melodytoda: 3:44pm On Nov 30, 2021
Hi folks!

Straight to the point: what's the best way to protect a piece of land you own from resale or encroachment? Most are advising to build a gate man's house for someone to live for free who will then farm on the land for free. However, I'm wondering if there are other options. For example, would there be people who are interested in leasing the land for a fixed term farming instead.

More specific questions:

1) The community wants development or they resell and relocate you which can be really tricky. Will leasing it for farming protect the land from them?

2) If leasing is a good option, where do I find people who are interested and what should I be aware of in this regard?

3) How much will it cost to build a gate man's house? Is that a good option? What about when the time comes for you to ask the person to move in the future. Will there be any problems?

4) What other options should I consider?

The land is in Asaba, Delta State.

Thanks for your anticipated inputs!

Family / Re: How To Deal With A Terrible Maid? by melodytoda: 10:57pm On Nov 09, 2015
Most respondents have assumed that the OP lives with her guy. This is not so. In her post, she said they will be living there after they are married not that they are living there now. Maybe the fiance is, but she is not at the moment. For those that this erroneous assumption has informed your response, you may wish to readdress the issue now that you have the correct information.

That being said, I like the comment by one poster about the elder brother addressing the issue. The thing is that once this lady is married, she becomes family and the maid becomes more difficult to ignore especially if the house shares more than a staircase and backyard sometimes.

I feel the issue should be addressed. A maid is employed to work and should be respectful to all in the discharge of her duties including even visitors. She cannot choose who to respect or not. The fiancee stopped paying part of her salary due to the disrespect which means he was paying previously. So posters who have said the OP deserves no respect cos she is not paying should take note that even when the fiance was paying, that did not help the issue. The issue must be confronted in earnest

My dear, we don't know the exact situation in that house. If you feel you cannot live without a maid due to reasons best known to you such as the nature of your job, then please get one. I'm sure you and hour husband to be can afford it. That way there may be peace.

Also, I wish you well in that household. Do your best to be in good terms with everyone but you must know it may not be easy because people are different, even blood sisters. But you must be determined to make it work. Also, pray hard.

englishmart:
thread for lazy ladies wink

Disliking a chore is not same as not doing it. They do it and that's why they know they dislike it. Everyone has a dislike. The tone of your message suggests that you're a guy. Some guys for instance do jobs they dislike because they have to make ends meet. Do you then call them lazy? These ladies may dislike these things but they still do them. I pity the lady that will end up with you. You sound like the type that would expect too much. BTW, who said only ladies have commented on this thread?

Career / Librarians And Information Professionals In The House by melodytoda: 3:57am On Aug 16, 2013
Hi,

Thanks for visiting this thread. I need a strong and currently relevant research topic in Library and Information Science. I have been thinking of a way to link Librarianship to Human Resource Management but have not arrived at anything yet. I'm also thinking marketing in libraries but a lot seems to have been done there, same for information seeking behaviour. I would be glad for any helpful suggestions.

Thanks for your time and contributions.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for your responses to my previous question on travel history. The application has finally been submitted. I see 84 as the average processing time on cic website. I would appreciate real life examples from people that have received or people that know people that have been granted on whether it took exactly 84 days, less or more and if less or more, how long exactly. Please forgive me if my request is too much. I trust Nairalanders to give valid info. that's why I run here in situations like this. Thanks again.

Hello Fellow Nairalanders,

Thanks for the great job you are doing. I have a question about Canadian TRV: Somebody that was refused TRV because he did not have travel history, now the person has traveled to Dubai. But friends are telling him that since Dubai visa is electronic and not on his passport, it won't count as travel history. Does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks for your ever helpful responses!

I think some people here are either not saying the entire truth, or the ones with your other observations have not posted. But I can almost assure you that your research findings are not wrong.

Thank you whoever you are. You just hammered on issues that have been bothering me for quite some time. I don't know what is happening but every sermon these days seems to be talking about prosperity one way or the other. It is almost difficult now to find a sermon that focuses on the coming of Jesus, repentance, etc.

Family / Re: Pregnancy: How Did This Happen Again? by melodytoda: 11:10am On Mar 01, 2012
My dear,

You took the best precaution you could. Don't be too hard on yourself.

I think you should inform the guy you had intimacy with. Whether he accepts it or not, please keep your baby. In future, all three of you will be glad you did.

The future consequence of an abortion may be more shamful than the shame of pregnancy now.

It won't be easy though, but may you be strengthened.

All the best.

Dear All,

I am stranded. pls help!.

I want to pursue a career in Human Resources Mgt. Thus, i want to study HRM at masters in canada.

So far, i've found just york and uni. of Toronto offering it reasonably. Most others don't offer it surprisingly.

The prob is, the fees are too too much. I don't know if i can afford it. And, Canada it must be.

Please what do i do? Am i not searching well?

Please help if you have helpful solutions.

Thank you.
