I don't agree with the bold.

The only reason stanbic is selling @44 is simply because the biggest investors are not offloading.
Is that the bone of contention sir?

CP is merely comparing Stanbic against Wema Bank based on their present price and financials.

Did u see the news about cbn and another recession ...do you think another recession is possible soonest ?
Main quage for this will be what will happen to crude oil price. I doubt we will go into another recession if crude price remains relatively stable but if otherwise should happen, 7 years or not, we will quickly find ourselves in recession again.

If crude oil starts dropping now, straight on to USD.

If it were before, we will all be smiling and this place would have been bubbling with bull discussions as the oil price is going up.
I want to believe that time is coming sha. It is well.
You mean that foreign investors that has withdrawn over ₦400 Billion from the market will rush back now because oil is trading above 80 dollars per barrel? We need to first understand what really chased them away and then prepare for their return. Other than 10% - 20%cycles, I don't expect much from the market for now. I may be wrong though.

It's OhOk!

Oga Agba, CP, Mendes and other mattress gang. Can we say the market has bottomed so we can start entering or its still the normal Janet action.

The TA gurus, ur opinions are welcomed as well. What is TA saying about price action. Still bearish, consolidating or market has bottom?
Depends on stocks you are looking at and your intention (whether you are investing or trading), a period for successful 10% - 15% PAF just passed for some stocks. I bought three stocks days days back and exited one on profit and one on flat returns. Waiting for the 3rd one to touch 10% before exiting. I haven't sold the last one because the bid status is far higher than the offer, hence it might complete my target for me. If you are talking about long term stake, I wouldn't take position now not because prices are not attractive but because time has not come for me to enter. September is still pretty early for my kind of long term trade.

That not withstanding, Zenith at ₦22 is quite a good deal if you believe their result will propel them to above ₦30 by next year. Would have bought but Zenith hardly does x2 at a stretch. Other shabby small time stocks easily returns x2 for me.

November is key for me and I will be comfortable buying later at prices higher than today but peace of mind is priority for me.

I have also been wrong severally. This is just my own opinion.

The truth is recommending stocks here is becoming an issue. The reason I stopped posting the weekly stock recommendations here.

Also, last week or so, I posted a story on shareholders' worry on the financial health of Skye Bank. It was a way of warning people about the stock too.

Like I pointed out yesterday, Coolcash1, on Sept 8, dropped a hint on a possible fall of Skye Bank, which I grabbed and did some checks on. When I confirmed the signal, I acted fast.

Well, I humbly apologize for that sha.
I beg to disagree. Recommending stocks has never been an issue. The big issue results when you recommend a stock claiming insider info, grapevine info, etc when that person actually has no information other than the company's spreadsheet and speculation. That one is 100 times worse than MH!

A person claiming insider knowledge might get away with it once or twice, after all a dead clock is always right twice a day, but that doesn't mean that he has any insider information.

Make I still dey my corner dey observe una shaaa. Na Angel Michael go take koboko finish some people soon.

Q. What's the fate of Skye Bank Shareholders?

A. Is there anything like Skye Bank anymore?

Let's all swallow this bitter truth and move on.

Skye Bank is in a far worse state than BankPHD was when they got nationalised. Am surprised it took this long to finally bury that corpse!

The funny thing is that I took a trip round my area in Alimosho, Lagos this morning to Skye Bank branches to get the mood, the places I visited had their ATMs no dispensing cash. I am planning to do another check by 11am today to see if the ATMs have been loaded.

Though customers money is safe, the new management will surely want to restrict panic withdrawals which are natural in this case.
Do you need to visit ATM's before getting your cash? The very serious ones initiated transfers yesterday pending when the picture gets clearer. My friends still having some cash there are the ones that exceeded daily transfer limit. One was awake till 12am before he initiated the 2nd batch. So I was told, I wasn't with either of them.

But I think depositors money are safe! People might panic though but it's a normal reaction in this clime.

Yes sir, the bank was gone before the intervention but it's the same CBN that appointed the new management that failed to prevent the bank from drowning as well now.
Invariably, CBN failed as well but surprisingly, they were 'praising' the mgmt; well except maybe they knew what the populace did not know yet...... but if they know, why dont they make their findings public?
Why wasnt the management able to turn things around with the huge fund they were giving to work with and given the timeframe with which they were to deliver on this? Does it mean CBN doesnt set up a monitoring committee to monitor how the funds were being utilized?
I just wish cbn and all that were involved could be dragged to court on this. undecided
Have you not heard of "damaged beyond repair"? The new management tried but the rot and sink hole cannot be repaired. And they gave in.

Skye Bank - I guess the "Foreign Hot Money" have just landed!!!

I hope none of us here is affected. I said it the other day that because a corpse is yet to be buried does not mean it's still alive. Only time will tell.

My heart felt sympathy goes out to all Skye Bank Shareholders. I hope their shares won't go the way of my BankPHB shares.

BTW, why would CBN pull this kind of stunts always on a Friday, after working hours. Such a long weekend ahead!

Comments made on First Aluminium

"Dead body must shake body and get lifted before e finally rest for ground level 20K"

"Can't remember the last time that company declared profit or pay dividend. They are an Aluminium company that is completely left behind!"

"She may just be waking up from sleep. That's the only thing that came to my mind when I saw her post. But still, people make money from dead companies, she might succeed."

"Na only maggot dead body go brew. That company is returning back to DUST."

The above comments are not justified and can't have been made by someone that looked at the financials.

1)The company is not dead.
2)It is not loss making.
3)It is not over priced.
4)20k (Market Cap of N420m) will be a gift to whoever buys it given the profitability (N210m) and shareholder's funds (over 5bn).

Am I advising people to buy? No.
Is the group result of more relevance to shareholders than company results? In my opinion, Yes
Has group profitability iimproved ver the the past four years? Yes from N29m to N209m
Are the profitability margins poor? Yes and that has been reflected in the price. The company is however making sales of over N9bn annually and if the margins improve the profitability shoots up.
Is this an attractive take over candidate? Yes
Chief, that a "corpse" is yet to be buried does not mean its "alive" to me. Not a problem, ride on with First Aluminium. Am also looking for a similar company to make money off.

NO mind me sir, I be learner and now I know better after my experience in 2014 with serious haircut.
People need to be careful of whom they take advice from. People can be sincere and be sincerely wrong. I used to have a mentor then advising me to keep investing in NSE for long terms as a plan for retirement citing Nestle, NB and co from where they started from and where they are now as multibaggers. Forgetting that, past performance is not a guarantee of future results and moreover it might be a good idea if someone doesn't have foreign exposure as expenses.

NSE is not a place people should go long esp during a bear market. There is no point fighting the trend, I am guilty of that also. We are lucky this time that oil price helps to protect our forex exchange rate. I was a victim of 2014 crash and learnt my lesson in the hard way. Some of us were hit in double fold, our portfolio was down by almost 50% and our naira assets also lost another 50% compared to dollars esp. It was terrible for people who had their living expenses in forex. Imagine, you changed ur money at 160/$ to buy NSE stocks in 2015 and the same stock lost 50% and more.
I remembered buying FBNH at 10 naira in 2014 fast forward to 2015, FBNH went to as low as 4 naira and naira started trading at more than 400/$. 1 million naira that was $6250 then bought 100k units of FBNH then, if u sold at 4 naira to meet unexpected expenses in $ then, u will end up getting $1000 if u changed it then at 400/$ which means ur $6250 investment then turned to $1000, that was 84% loss in capital.
It's better imagined than experienced. This was just a case study then. I will never do long term of up to 2 years in NSE and I won't fight the trend.
up to 2 years? You still have some sizable guts left in you. Long time to me no pass 6 months self (Considering November/December entry to April/May trading windows).

Zenith Bank RSI indicates its over sold , and just like GTB should be ripe for a wave 2 correction, a bounce at around N20 is expected and a correction to N25 will just be right before continuation of the downtrend or a total reversal. if the downtrend continues this are the prices you should be looking at N15, N12, N9.
Zenith at N9?. Hmm, don't let Yayira catch you. You will never know what hit you.
