Oga, enough of your revisionist history, Oyo empire was never a confederacy because it controlled all the units under it until the decline in its power which is common to most empires like Mali, Ghana and Songhai. To have called anybody Oba confirmed the fact that Oranmiyan, the first Alaafin of Oyo established Benin Kindgom. Intermarriages is why Yoruba is having Omowumi and Itsekiri is having Omawumi, please try another logic, you are free to believe whatever you want to but the issue Oba Yewande or Osewande to Akintoye is too pedestrian. Yoruba owns the word "Oba" and anybody using it has a link with the Yorubas.
