Can't stop laughing... Even the ones using smartphones can't differentiate between an OS and a Phone.
Some just wanna feel among even tho they still browse with their C2 (which is a nice phone on its own too). And some just sleep around (even with dogs) to buy some gadgets for show off or cuz of peer pressure while the manufacturers sleeps and wakes up everyday thinking of new idea.
Most people who create this kinda thread are of low IQ cuz they only see phones as a 'show-off' gadget. And many carries the phones around having just 2% knowledge about their phones capability (which I call 'phone-abuse'). Many live in a slum, yet purchase expensive smart phones cuz their twitter follower/IM friend is using one (How daft). All these unreasonable beefing would end if only half of the people who uses phones can understand 50% of their phone's function. Social network is just 2% of what ur phone can offer you, be it Blackberry, Galaxy tab, iPhones et al.

My question for the person I quoted is; Is Android a phone or an OS?

To check if ur server is running, look straight down at the right hand corner of the platform, u would see where the chart connection is, if the sent/recieve bits(numbers) are chnging, then u are connected. Maybe u are not noticing the movement of the market because of the time frame that ur currecncy pairs are set to... Try change the TF to 15 mins.
Since u said Ask/Bid pricee are changing, check the time frame or select a streaming currency pair like GBP/JPY to see it very well.

But if at the connection reading below (right hand corner below), the connection is at 'invalid account' or 'no connection' then nuffin would move on the window.

saintfaculty: finally done with my exams. Pls guys i downloaded alpari.co.uk mt4 platform to monitor market movement, after installing i log in, pls how do i monitor a market i.e eur/usd before d news release? Some body help plz.

Just open a demo account, after login in and the server starts running. You should see like 4 different currency pairs on ur chart window as a first timer, just maximize the eur/usd or any currency pair u wanna monitor, then explore the different tabs on the platform, u'd see where u can change the chart line to candlesticks and zoom for better viewing. If its on a working day, u should see the movement of the market changing from pip to pips. If you wanna add more currency pairs to ur chart window, just check the top left side of ur platform and u'd see the BID/ASK price of the pairs, right click on any pair and 'open in window'...
