Rashford and Martial can not use their heads, just like people here have been saying. They are both not ready to lead the attack yet IMO. Nigerian pastor arrested for human trafficking at PE Airport.

The controversial pastor runs churches in Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Bloemfontein.

A Nigerian pastor who allegedly sexually exploited more than 30 girls played hide-and-seek with police as he arrived at the Port Elizabeth Airport on Thursday where he was to be arrested by the Hawks.

Amidst high drama, the pastor from a Church based in Durban was arrested at the Port Elizabeth Airport on Thursday afternoon on charges of human trafficking.

The controversial pastor also runs churches in Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and in the United Kingdom.

According to an eyewitness, who did not want to be named, police initially ran through arrivals doors looking for the pastor but could not find him.

The source told African News Agency (ANA) police then searched the toilets and found him. He was handcuffed out of the bathroom by police officers.

The pastor is being represented by well-known Port Elizabeth attorney Alwyn Griebenow, who was also at the airport. Well-known Port Elizabeth attorney Terry Price was also present at the airport.

The pastor who was dressed in flashy sunglasses and a brightly coloured checked blazer later arrived at the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (the Hawks) offices flanked by police officials.

Hawks spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Robert Netshiunda, confirmed police went looking for him at the airport after their procedure did not go as planned.

It is understood the pastor was meant to to hand himself over to the Hawks, but that scenario did not happen as anticipated.

“We got information that his flight was delayed but we could not believe that at face value. We went to the airport ourselves only to find out the flight was on schedule,” said Netshiunda.

Netshiunda also confirmed that police found the pastor in a toilet. He confirmed that Omotoso was charged with human trafficking and said that additional charges might be added.

Meanwhile, a group of women gathered outside the Hawks offices on Friday in support of victims they say had been roped in by “pimps” belonging to the pastors church.

Pamella Mabini said they were supporting more than 30 women who were “raped” and “sexually exploited” by the pastor.

“On our WhatsApp group there are more than 70 women, some are victims and some women are supporting these victims. We try to encourage people to come forward but they get threatened,” she said.

Mabini claimed that some girls were “raped” and “molested” as far back as from 2002.

“Some of them are scared to come out because they are getting threatened by the members of that church,” she said.

He is expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Hope this not a subtle continuation of xenophobic attacks. I say so because the police are too aggressive in arresting him. He could have been allowed to walk on his own. Why lifting him up & dragging him?

Allegedly he slept with underage girls. I think he was rough handled like that because he was acting some drama at the Airport instead of handing himself over to the Cops as agreed. I read he claimed his flight was delayed but the Cops found out the flight was right on time. They actually got him in the toilet at the Airport. I guess that was what made them to treat him that way.

This might sound stupid but I believe if Tribalism could first be stopped on Nairaland while people change their views and mentality and facing our common enemies then Nigeria would be better.

It is so funny how we have allowed our leaders to cause division amongst us so they can always have their ways to the Treasury. Go to the Senate and Rep, Tribalism has never and will never stop them from looting. They speak the same language which is coRrruption. Come to think of it, how many of the Igbo leaders in the Senate, Rep or in position are seeking for supporting Biafra? At least if they are doing that there wouldn't be need for someone from Uk/Usa to come advocate for Biafra in Naija but when these leaders are out of power, they change tone. How many of them kill or kidnap rivals themselves. Never heard of it!

The diference between America's peaceful elections and Nigeria's elections is we the masses... A lot of gullible people are ready to kill over a bag of rice or a thousand. There is poverty in America as well but people are not easily manipulated or used for violence. To Americans it is all about your policies. Democratic partys's ideologies and principles against Republicans.

Yes in America, a lot of people still vote based on sentiments but their sentiments are based on party ideologies.

I need help on how to create a website with forum - Something like Nairaland. I am really really new in all these. I just registered for a Domain but seems the software (SiteBuilder) recommended to me does not help with creating a forum. It appears to help with creating a normal website alone.

I do not blame our leaders anymore. Honestly we should be asking ourselves why we made or keep making the same mistake of voting for the wrong person. Those curses should also go to the people that voted these set of leaders in. We all knew at the time of the election that this man was not the right man for the job but we went ahead putting our future and the lives of the generations to come in jeopardy. Even those on Nairaland who I believed were more enlightened fell into that same trap.

I remember we used to read people campaigning for him because he is from the south, cos he is a niger deltan, cos his middle or other name is Igbo, becos he is a xtian, becos his name is goodluck, becos he never had shoes, becos he is on facebook WHILE WE NEVER CONSIDERED HIS TRACK RECORD, HIS NON-ACHIEVEMENT WAS NOT IMPORTANT TO US.

My predictions- 2015, this guy would contest and most likely against someone from the North But people would still vote for badluck ALL BECOS THEY DO NOT WANT TO VOTE FOR SOMEONE FROM THE NORTH- Badluck would win and continue to mess up the country and our future.

This country is still dealing with basic structures and amenities while other serious nations don move to another level of development. Countries who are not as rich or blessed as we are have gone beyond. Basic challenges like water, electricity or roads are not there problem anymore yet we are stilll here talking of poor or no supply of electricity, no water and bad roads. When are we moving to the next stage to face other challenges? When are we ever going to get it right?

Trully we deserve the set of leaders we have in this nation.. We as the masses need to change first before leaders but all we do is to come on Nairaland to throw insults at each others tribe.
