It's a shame that the nigeria judicial system is so wacked up, we have to go britian for a genuine legal verdict. Let the british just come back to continue with their colonization, since we are deprived of a better self rule system. Shame on our leadership.
The subsidy case should be outsourced to the british too.
TravelRe: Badagry Expressway Is A Death Trap by metro10: 5:47pm On Jul 30, 2012
With the kind of money the custom and immigration makes in that road, it's a a terrible site. I went to badagry beach some months ago...chai, i pitied myself. I got home late, the car was almost hospitalized and what about me....i took some panadol....due to the condition of the road. If armed robber pursue u in that road, you better surender or u r gone.

Dude, if you're going to describe Naija to a foreigner, do so accurately or don't do so at all. In Lagos he does NOT have to ''live without the comfort of electricity''. Quite apart from the fact that the power situation is improving by the day, he also has the easily affordable option of power backup by way of a generator, and can literally live his entire life without worrying about electricity. Even many of the underclass in Lagos can afford to run a gen, so he should have no problems. As for roads, Lagos roads are no worse than those of most major African cities. And I can't remember when last I spent ''3-5 hours'' in traffic like you claimed. That must have been several years ago before the improvements and changes effected by the Tinubu govt and the present Fashola administration.
Rossikk, i am just bn blunt....what would you prefer...to come here and ran back with woeful tales like that of Virgin Branson.....
Its true that there is an alternative of generator, but you must understand that this guy is not conversant with generator usage. The running cost is on the high side.In respect to traffic, pls, come stay on the mainland and work in the island like some of us and you would attestate to what i am saying. It funny that by 9pm, i am still in one traffic in t he island trying to come home after work and have a lot to go tru before i get down to festac where i live. Be real.
TravelRe: Black American Wants To Move To Nigeria - Need Advice! by metro10: 12:37pm On Jul 30, 2012
@Ops, you are welcome to Naija. I will be frank with you as possible. Nigeria is good for business, a known fact, due to the population size. We are known to be a consuming nation. In respect to location, pls stay in Lagos or abuja. Why Lagos, becos no one gives a hood about where you come from, get a place in any of this suburbs in lagos: victoria island, ikeja, lekki or vgc....you are guaranteed no hassle from any one. Lagos is also safe from kidnap in the south east: port harcourt, enugu, onitsha, aba e.t.c
there are no boko haram boys in lagos too. Lagos is the commercial hub of the nation. If your goods dont sell in lagos, you are out. Lagos has abt 18million people...work the maths.
With that said, to live in lagos, you must have th naija survival spirit, which i am sorry to say, by virtue of luxury and background as an african american, you dont have. Let me be more emphatic. To live in lagos, you must be able to live without the comfort of electricity, good roads...thus reducing the lifespan of ur vehicle. U hav to learn to stay in traffick for hours, i mean hours like 3 to 5 hours within lagos alone...most mornings and evenings. Poor policing and judicial system. Bad politicians and bribes in all sectors. You have to be able to say no most times, with a shout as the occassion demands. Touts are avery where to pirate your products....side by side in the malls and shops and u cant do shit. One nna guy will givi you an exact copy of ur product made in his backyard and u cant do jack. A nigerian spirit is what u need. A simple question for u. Can u stay in the rain and work on ur broken vehicle due to bad roads, in a dirty road? Even the almighty owner of virgin group, branson was driven from naija due to bad politicians.
South africa is also good, they dont our population size but its a better economy and infrastructure. I was there and beautiful for business, but naija has a greater return on investment. We run a cashy economy unlike the south africans. SA is very inviting. U wont wont to leave. Kenya is also good. Nairobi, mombasa, nakuru, eldoret and other cities are good for business. Was there and the economy is very friendly to foreign investors. Lots of asians and foreigners also.
Ghana is calm and very secured, the most secured of all african countries for now, i think. As a foreigner, u cant start retail business there. It must be a mega business....wholesale or manufacturing/production. They are sending foreigners away wit stringe economic policies. You will pay a higher tax than the citizens.
Above all, naija is the bomb....yeah....you must have nigerian assistant to broker deals when its difficult for you to appear. Have a great stay in naija.
My small piece of mind.

EventsRe: Get Together Party For Nairalanders..is It Possible? by metro10: 6:41pm On Jul 26, 2012
On a serious note, it's a welcomed idea for me....it happens abroad with twitter and myspace. Let us cast off these childish bickering and be be welcoming with our words. I would subscribe to a Nairaland National Summit, as suggested earlier. An avenue to brainstorm towards generation next Nigeria.
Seun, pls look into this.....we have a lot to gain. A lot of us here can plan this all out and positively increase our beloved Nairaland traffic,
I promise you there won"t be a single fight, when its well planned.

PoliticsRe: Christians Should Accept Islam Or No Peace - Boko Haram by metro10: 3:08pm On Jul 10, 2012
Boko Haram has one only goal, the elimination of all others(xtians formost) who do not believe in their religiog of war and violence, Islam. This is an established fact. They are a terrorist organization and should be dealt with accordingly.
Christians must understand that this is a war against all xtians, i foresee the government reluctance to help christians in the future......what will the north become for the xtians and none muslims who will be left without assistance?

PoliticsRe: Why Is South Africa More Developed And Stable Than Nigeria?? by metro10: 9:52pm On May 27, 2012
Nigeria in 20years would still no catch up with South Africa' level of devt. I just returned from there, its appalling and heart breaking. The only strength naija has is population and nothing more. I returned since 2weeks and had not had the previlage of sleeping with light. I am suffering, its against my neighbourhood policy to on my generator all tru d night. The wickedness of our leaders wont allow for development.
Its no just because they have the whited, i know the southy blacks are lazy, but still if we the right leadership in place, things will run well.
I want to be the next nigerian president, watch out for progress.

TravelRe: Naija In Southy: My Ongoing Experience. by metro10(op): 2:00pm On Apr 29, 2012
Its sunday and i had to go to church. My first choice earlier when i came was a south african church close to my flat, good worship and word but a few of sout african songs gets me mouth-mumbling. Lots of niajan churches though e.g WInners, RCCG, CAC but Glory Christian Church of Pastor I.S.James in struben caught my attention today, reminds me of home...lots of naijan faces and homely praise worship. Will be worshipping there b4 i go home.
How was your sunday experience? Abi u no dey go church here? Ciao!
TravelRe: Naija In Southy: My Ongoing Experience. by metro10(op): 8:02am On Apr 28, 2012
Ah na wa, southy na rush rush...its a jungle here. The city is calm this morning because of the public holiday here. Anyone we don stay lasgidi b4 can survive here.
Answers to questions:
1. South-Out jobs: For professionals, accountants, medicals, and alot others. Its advisable to get their own certifications. It helps a great deal. They don't place value on naija' certificates here...anyway, u still have to convert your grade in SAQUA with few rands. Some one mentioned paramedics above. You can study here as well, that is if u have the cash.
For other skilled works, mechanics are hot cakes here. Welder, plumber, electrician. Its not those cut and nail work some of you do back in naija o...u must be good...it will take u a while though, but wen God smiles on you, u r made. I was told of a naija village guy, a mechanic, that came here, he is now a multi millionaire. If u r a hairdresse/baber and u can fight for customers on the street to your shop, witout shame of who will probably see u from naija...u r on d go, but too much compitetion o for major cities o...u might have to go to sttaions(rural arear, wey still fine wella) and make ur money slow slow.
Abeg, come wit money o..cos yah broda go fit arrest u o, if u too they chop him food for free o. Great day and i am signing out. Peace!

@qeenyetty
Good and straight to the point. I am glad for you. Your experience is refreshing and i am proud of you as a nigerian in SA.
A point i want to establish, Southy is a land of opportunity. A green country wit boundless wits. The truth is all these are for those who prepared their coming wit enof money and sought-for skills.
The fact abounds that well over 70% of naijas here were not ready b4 coming here, just go to d asylums offices today and u will know what i am talking about.
TravelRe: Naija In Southy: My Ongoing Experience. by metro10(op): 7:44am On Apr 24, 2012
We don't question the fact that dreams are achievable here, but @ what proportion compared to nigeria? In naija, u don't have to be a graduate to eat in your first week of relocating to a new city...there are menial jobs that will fend for your initial needs, but here...na zero. Its only handwork like mechanic, plumber, electrician, hair barber/dressers e.t.c and yet the competition is stiff. Imagine, if u are an hairdresser, b4 some1 will get to yah shop, he has bn evaded with a hundred of hungry looking, visious nigerians and others with placards on the street. Its patetic.
By the way, i am a graduate and not just one lazy-talker.
Schooling here is good, but with soo much money, if at masters level...u will get buseries that can take care of yah...like R2500 or so, depending on d school. But the truth is there are no jobs yet for the southy and now you who is a foreigner.
Here, what pays is business. When coming, hold yah side well well. Its tough. I was with a guy who has bn here for like 10yrs yesterday and he was lamenting that southy has changed.
Make sure u have money, dont come empty handed. Here, u r on yah own oh...ur brother go collect rent from u self, including that one wey sey he don make am here above...they cant host their parents from home, cos most of naija are squatting here. Hold yah millions as u dey come...if u come broke, u go go back broke and if possible, as winter they come next month, die broke in the cold, cos u no go get were to lay yah head. Shikena....he that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the naija people church 4 southy!
