He might have played a smart one on the politician but is he more cruel than someone who takes advantage of the poor and downtrodden in the society? Especially a society he helped to impoverish? Why did he not find someone from his family to pay and collect kidney?

UK is not safe. Good luck to you. You think getting to the UK and staying is the end of the world after destroying this family. You knew exactly what you were going to do there. You just had other plans. You think you are smart, you will learn the hard way that some things are not worth it.

UK should deport him. He lied on applications and scammed that couple. The people he scammed are currently in prison. Let him come back home.

After you have caused them pains, agony and troubles?.
Bro, you're on a long thing. I really pity Ekweramadu and his family, especially his sick daughter. I pray God to heal her. I'm willing to Donate my Kidney to ensure that she is fine. Of this is the only thing I can do for humanity and wipe her tears, I will do. Let someone tell Sonia that I am ready to give out my kidney to her. I wouldn't take a dime. I wouldn't. God be with the Ekweremadus family.
Nairaland, pls allow God to touch your hearts to help me. Ulcer has reduced me to nothing. And Hunger has escalated it. Things are just so bad with work. Pls help me with anything u can pls
Go collect the 8000$ from ekweremadu in exchange for your kidney do you can also take care of the ulcer. Nigerians deserve Nigeria

Excellent!
In my eyes, Tinubu's presidency is the start of Nigerian democracy. No more Khaki men in Agbada. We technically started democracy in 1999 and it's going to be uninterrupted henceforth.

This is the very first time a true democrat with no stupid military background will be our President.
Note, I said “a true democrat”, not wannabes.
The very first time a President from the South supervises a digital Nigerian census. So credibility rate of the census is way high.

The first digital census in Nigerian history.

No more wonky inflated figures from the Ariwa.
Hopes are up!
Jyaradua and Jonathan were military men? Are you a joker

Well it is not easy in Nigeria especially these past 8 years under Buhari.

What I can advise is to try to save and create another source of income. With two sources of income, you would be closer to your dreams than you can imagine.
Save, save, save .. So many goal keepers in Nigeria grin you can't save without satisfying your basic needs. He needs to find ways to boost his income, that should be the primary goal

CaptainFM1:
It's two different world. You cannot eat your cake and have it.

Here in the UK, virtually all basic services are available and people pay heavily for it. Back home, our people can avoid paying for almost everything and still survive.

It's very possible to live in the UK for 20years and not have a savings of 1000Pounds because you may not even need it to start with. And also it could be very difficult to save up when you consider cost of living.

The regular weekend and night flexing we enjoy in Nigeria is almost non-existence here, partly because people have to work like modern slaves to be able to buy a pint of Foster beer or Stella Artois for 4 to 6pounds depending on locations. With 6pounds, you know how many crate or bottles of Lager that will fetch in Nigeria!

Even their own premiership, they don't get to watch the Saturdays 3PM matches due to their "football blackout rules". In Nigeria, all the matches are aired.

We quite embrace one another in Nigeria, while in the UK, it's all man for himself. This can be traced to culture though! Our culture is well defined, natural, respectful and to some extent quite organized in nature as compared to the UK which is dotted with large sprinkles of nationals everywhere and are often perceived/treated as forth-class citizens.

Tax: Trust me, Oyinbo people are so smart that not less than 40% tax are collected from every taxable individuals. Nigeria tax system is still very poor that more than 60% are not in government tax net. So there's always that money available for social life.

Suffering & Smiling: Most times it doesn't take money to have a social life. We seems to understand that quite well in Nigeria that on Saturday, you can just wear your Ankara and attend almost any party and enjoy yourself.

The differences in the two worlds are quite much, I can't enumerate them all. But one thing is certain, you can't eat your cake and still have it! Nigeria maybe bad in some areas, but certainly good in some too. I personally can't trade Nigeria for the UK having seen both worlds. That's why I always say the people that enjoyed abroad are the people that have the funds to visit and go back to their country.
True, you can't eat your cake and have it.
The day Nigeria begins to "work" then it'll be a completely different world that most people are not even ready for. There's a lot of dynamics that'll change instantly for good and bad. The do called enjoyment people talk about will disappear.

The western world has developed a society of human "farm animals" trapped in a machine that seeks to squeeze every last drop of blood and sweat from the prior leaving them lost, trapped and depressed at the end of the day. It's the price to pay for the high productivity and boom they're experiencing relative to less developed countries.

Perhaps if many could see they would never pray for Nigeria to work. It's the paradox we have to deal with.

Exactly. Very depressing places to be. I pray Nigeria work in our time
Plot twist: The reason you guys "enjoy" social life in Nigeria is because Nigeria doesn't work. Imagine not being able to answer calls at work here or as a civil servant not being able to ask people to wait on a queue just for you to be eating lunch or gisting with colleagues. cool cool

Not being able to show off at parties by spraying cash or showing up with police escort blasting guns and siren. cool

Nothing like connection for job from one uncle or senator..

The list goes on and on
Reason am well...
