TravelRe: Nigerian Passport Renewal In The UK by Metucity: 11:53am On Jul 08, 2021
Please, I applied for my passport renewal earlier this year before the re-introduction of fast track services this may. I do not know how I can change to the fast track. Please anyone with a piece of useful information should advise me on what to do.

hehehe Old things have past away. You now have post-study visa.

Actually, at the time of writing that comment, no post-study visa . It is now clear a bit but still advise Canada though.
Let's hope they keep to their word because they can be very dynamic. (So I heard). I also read somewhere that one should also have a plan b before coming to the UK just incase they change their immigration rules, the statement wasn't clear enough. Can someone explain this please? What are the alternative ways one can retain his stay after studies just incase he's not able to get a job before the visa expires?

Hello guys. Am happy to read good about Northampton here. I'll be coming over by January 2020 for a two year MBA program at UON. I hope things go well. I've read about so many scary things about how hard life is in the UK especially if you are a self funded student of which I happened to be one. It good to know that it is close to London and one can easily get settled in the city. Thank you guys, I'll always be in touch.

Hello guys, please I intend to apply for a Japanese visa but something is bothering me. Am going for Japanese language course that will start in October this year and end by April 2021at Fukushima prefecture. Meanwhile my passport will expire by may 2021. I just want to be sure that my passport validity will not affect my visa application. Please I need to know if I should renew my passport before applying.

My younger brother would be travelling to SA on Wednesday for his program at the University of Johannesburg. I was thinking of buying a one way ticket for him, since he has was granted a study visa, in my opinion, I think return ticket's should be for tourist visas holders. But to my dismay some one was telling me to buy a return ticket for him, My concern is that my brother won't be returning to Naija till next year when his program will end, so I don't see the need for an immediate return ticket due to financial constrains. Lastly! A paid return ticket wasn't stated on his visa. PLEASE HOUSE I AM CONFUSED!! PLEASE ADVISE ME. THIS S.A PEOPLE AND THEIR RULES ARE JUST TOO MUCH JARE!
Congratulations to your brother. Since he is going on a study permit, he does not need a return ticket. Just incase you need to purchase some rand, you can always contact me.

Dear sirs,

Please how do I go about processing PR outside SA. I had my PhD in CS last year from SA and figure I should have it just in case.

Thanks in anticipation of your kind responses.
With your certificate, you can apply for your PR in SA but I think you should be in the country to that.

Hello,

Please how will SAQA confirm an application payment made online using card? Is being more than 10 days i made an online payment for my credentials evaluation but i am yet to receive any confirmation of payment from them and my credential will get there soon. Should I be worried?
If the transaction was successful, your bank should have sent you a receipt. Contact your bank for assistance. Once you get the receipt, forward it to SAQA via mail. You call also place a call for follow-up after you must have sent it.

Nicely said. Listen to him for your own good.

Chukwuka16:
Ah please kindly return to the country on the date you indicated.

Don't start denting your record with overstay. You will be shocked the lasting effect it can have on you.

Facts you can't argue with:
1. When applying for the Visa you indicated clearly your entry and exit.
2. You may also have your flight tickets and hotel booked to cover the dates for which the Visa is valid.
3. There is no unforeseen circumstance except adverse health effect like an accident that would warrant you overstaying and that is another complication on it's own.

Now that they have trusted you with a little (5 days) why not come back and relish the experience. Tomorrow when you need 10 or 15 days for valid purposes, you will have a good track record that can serve as evidence to your being a responsible traveller.

What about Student Visa.
Sum your tuition, accommodation, living expenses, all for one year, plus your flight ticket. I think that answers it. For living expenses, estimate like R3000/month depending on the city you are going to.

I think that answers it.

Wow! Congrats!

Please, did you talk to any agent, or your school to push it for you? I submitted mine on the 2nd and have not got any response.
I didn't talk to any agent. I was following up with prayers, series of mails to the SA home affairs, VFS global international and the VFS global Nigeria. My school also helped cos they told me that they included my name in the list they sent to the high commission but that the commission asked them to give them till twelve weeks.

All the same, thanks be to God.

Guys does the Lagos vfs require me to have police clearance from SA too ? I lived there for about two years
I think its needed. I met a guy at vfs who had his undergraduate studies there and is now going for his postgraduate. He was asked to get the police clearance from SA.

Can I use a third party (travel agent) for my flight reservation for the visa application?
It should be verifiable. I suggest you do the reservation yourself. Its not hard. Use South African airways and download and print the confirmation that will be sent to your registered email.

I wonder why the south african high commission are really taking time in the processing of their visa while in possession of your passport. When i applied for a visitor’s visa in 2017, i got my passport back in 3wks..

i just applied for my study permit..just hope it won’t take more than 4weeks. If you can email your school international office, asking for their assistance in mailing the SAHC in Nigeria on your behalf. Kindly do that as i think this should speed up the processing.
When I mailed my school's Intl office, this was their response :

'Good day

SUI do not contact Embassies. If your application was complete, the SAHC asks for eight to ten weeks to process. We are not able to rush them, they have processes to go through. You will be allowed to register to end of March.

Thanks for understanding. A list of all students from Nigeria has been sent through. You are one of 100.'

Please can you give us the email?
hacc@dha.gov.za

That's it. Explain to them how urgent it is and how inefficient their high commission in Nigeria is (though in a diplomatic and respectful way). Attach relevant document if any.

I think it's a general issue perhaps from Home Affiars in ZA.
I've seen another thread where Zimbabweans are complaining.
Fortunately for them, they have been able to force their high commissioner to release all passports by Feb ending, with priority for scholarship n grant recipients.

Unfortunately no one is fighting for us ‍♂️
I had to send a mail to the SA Home affairs directly who I believe is attending to my case because they replied me and apologized for the inconveniences they caused me. Later they sent me another mail requesting for my visa application ref number. I forwarded all the documents and even attached a letter from my hod requesting them to expedite the process. So I believe they are already on it and hopefully it will be out soon.

Congratulations Dr.
