How about investing in haulage business. Several companies and even courier services are outsourcing their hauling needs and so haulage business has a huge demand. There is a particular van which is available now in Lagos and it's a 2007 Ford E250 5.4L EFI V8 cargo van. The cost of d van + comprehensive insurance + vehicle registration is about 2.5m naira. So anyway, i'll just summarize my business offer as this:
If u can pay 4 d van (i.e. 2.5m), u'll get repaid in installments of 150k per month for 30 months (2 & 1/2 yrs), which will total as 4.5m naira for u. Another advantage is that u don't share any liability to operate d van & d cost of maintainence of d van also. I've about 5yrs experience in this business. So what do u think about this? Thanks but I am not looking for a short term business. I am looking for a side business that will generate residual. More over, getting #150K a month for 30months and then after 30months nothing comes in doesn't sound nice. You know very well that I will likely spend the 150k every month and also the time value of money occasioned by the ridiculously high inflation rate in Nigeria. If I can get that #150k a month (more like a coupon) and then after the 30th month, get a final payment and the capital invested, then we may be signing papers soon in the presence of our lawyers. bonsoirval: guy am an agricultural man. fish farming is cool and in two parts: hatchery and rearing. both are good. one can choose either or both. within a month a hatchery pond should selling for N15-N25 /fingerline. and one fish can give you upto 10000 fingerlines, the other type rearing is keeping and feeding the fish for 4 months to 6 months depending on pond management. at maturity 1kg sells for N550 - N650 depending on where you are. my family has been into this since 1988.

iniobong888: First of all you must have the positive mindset that opportunity actually exist in Nigeria, you must also believe that Rome was not built in a day, so in any business you are entering into what perspective are you bring into the business? what home work have you done? maybe the time you switch off to other business was actually going to be your boom time, secondly what new innovation are you adding to the business? what gives your business an advantage over your competitors? i think the way to go about this is to bring your previous business to the forum let Xray it and see possible ideas that can make it stand out .
