Lilfrosh , a signee under Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) was called out yesterday to have been physically abusing his girlfriend who is a face model and a video vixen.


According to the story, this is not the first time that he will beat her up mercilessly. Since yesterday that the incidence occurred, Lilfrosh has not come out to either apologize or deny the accusations.

We can however say that it's still an accusation which seems to be true.

The girl has however released screenshots of her chats with him, as he is begging to have her back.

In the screenshots of the chats, you can see him begging her seriously to forgive her. She also made a statement that she wants him back, but she is scared that he will still beat her up again.

After disqualification, what next?

When actress and model Erica Nlewedim entered the Big Brother Naija 2020 house, she did so with the intention of winning the huge N85 million naira prize.

The public response to this GoFundMe page hasn’t been so great with people like Reno Omikiri coming out to speak against the GoFundMe page.


In 5 hours, Nigerians raised $15,000 for #BBNaija’s Erica. In 5 days, the same Nigerians have not been able to raise any resistance to General Buhari’s increase of fuel and electricity costs. If you talk, some Nigerians will say come and lead the protest. Who led them to raise a record breaking $15,000 in 5 hours? We can act spontaneously for irrelevancies, but we are looking for others to act for us on relevant things! Nigeria deserves General Buhari!

This did not stop the donations from coming in though.

The Second Thing:

In addition to the GoFundMe page, Erica and her team also immediately created and stocked up on a new clothing and accessories store that caters to Erica’s fans.

A family of six comprising of a man, his wife, and their four children have perished after the building they reside in, collapsed at Yaldu in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi state.


According to reports, the building came crumbling after many days of rainfall in the area. The family who were in the building when it collapsed, all lost their lives. They have since been buried according to Islamic injunctions.

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari on Monday said there is no going back on fuel and electricity tariff hike in the country.
Buhari, who spoke at First year Ministerial Performance Review Retreat, at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, said regrettably, government could not go back on its decision to deregulate the petroleum sector and allow the forces of demand and supply at the international level to dictate the prices of Premium Motor Spirit.

The president, who was represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said the COVID-19 pandemic, had led to a severe downturn in the funds available to finance its budget and had severely hampered government’s capacity to deliver, saying that one of the steps taken at the beginning of the crisis in March when oil prices collapsed at the height of the global lockdown, was the deregulation of the price of premium motor spirit (PMS) such that the benefit of lower prices at that time was passed to consumers.

“This was welcome by all and sundry. The effect of deregulation though is that PMS prices will change with changes in global oil prices. This means quite regrettably that as oil prices recover we would see some increases in PMS prices. This is what has happened now. When global prices rose, it meant that the price of petrol locally will also go up,” he said.

According to Buhari, there were several negative consequences if government should even attempt to go back to the business of fixing or

subsidizing PMS prices.

“First of all, it would mean a return to the costly subsidy regime. Today we have 60% less revenues, we just cannot afford the cost. The second danger is the potential return of fuel queues – which has, thankfully, become a thing of the past under this administration.

“Nigerians no longer have to endure long queues just to buy petrol, often at highly inflated prices. Also, as I hinted earlier, there is no provision for fuel subsidy in the revised 2020 budget, simply because we are not able to afford it, if reasonable provisions must be made for health, education and other social services. We now simply have no choice,” he said.

The president assured that government was extremely mindful of the pains that higher prices meant at this time, and that government did not take the sacrifices that all Nigerians had to make for granted.

The elaborate wedding ceremony held last Friday at a time many Nigerians were complaining of hardship as a result of President Muhammadu Buhari government’s harsh economic policies.

On Sunday, Daily Trust published a cartoon showing the President’s wife holding pictures of the wedding on her hands and displaying them in the faces of Nigerians struggling to find their balance in life.

The cartoon drew inspiration from Aisha’s several posts on Instagram where she displayed pictures of Hanan’s wedding.

In reaction to the cartoon, Mrs Buhari said children of Nigerian leaders had the right to get married whether they were performing or not.

Aisha’s spokesperson, Aliyu Abdullahi, told BBC Pidgin that Hanan’s wedding was a low key ceremony.

He said,

“The cartoon of Mustapha Bulama trending is very unfair because the wedding wasn’t in anyway insensitive to what Nigerians are going through. In fact, because of that, Mrs Aisha Buhari held a meeting with her staff and told us she wants the wedding to be low key with no massive celebrations.

“The photo she posted of the couple for social media was to thank well wishers and not to rub it on Nigerian faces.”

Supporters of President Buhari had earlier described Daily Trust as toilet paper over the cartoon.

“This has further proved that your publication is toilet paper and should be trashed in the bottom pit of hell. Shame on you,” one of them said.

Another supporter of Buhari, Abdul Ishaka, said,

So there’s this viral video of Port-Harcourt based Pastor David Ibiyeomie, threatening to kill one of the most foolish Controversial OAP in Nigeria, Daddy Freeze.

Sorry I used the word Foolish to describe him..but that’s actually what he is and maybe I need to write an article on that to explain better.

So on this viral video, Pastor Ibiyeomie was threatening to kill Daddy Freeze for insulting his Father in the Lord Bishop David Oyedepo. Also classified Freeze a Bastard. He could be arrested and charged for this.



Now this is where he got it all wrong as a man of God with millions of followers all over the world.

Jesus Christ was insulted, but He did not insult back. “When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate”-1 Peter 2:23.

DaddyFreeze was wrong to insult Oyedepo. A man old enough to be his grandfather. No No I don’t support that.

But David Ibiyeomie fighting for his father in the Lord is foolishness from my own point of view.

Who is Pastor David Ibiyeomie? Who are his parents? Lol let me not talk sha.

A day before yesterday, I wrote an article on why you shouldn’t marry a Rivers State woman and some people were calling me afool and all that. Hahaha

Little did they know that I’m also a full Rivers State man. Yes I am! Check the name again. Lol

The federal government on Thursday, made it clear that only approved airlines will be allowed into Nigeria’s airspace, as international flights resume September 5.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, stated this during the media briefing of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19.

Sirika noted that only the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja and the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, would reopen for international travels.

He listed Egyptair, Virgin Atlantic, Turkish Airlines, AWA, Kenya Airways and Middle East Airlines as airlines permitted to operate into the Lagos airport.

Sirika also listed British Airways, Emirates, Ethiopian, AWA, and Middle East Airlines as airlines allowed to operate into the Abuja airport.

However, the Minister said Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Etihad Airways, Angolan TAG, Air Namibia and Royal Air Maroc are not approved to operate flights into the country.

“Now, at this point, it is important that we announce the airlines that are allowed for operations into the country. The ones not approved are Air France. Middle East Airlines is approved for only Lagos (airport). British Airways (is) approved – allowed entry under Covid-19 protocol.

“The reason for Air France is that tourists business holders are not allowed entry. KLM not approved for the same reason as Air France. Delta Airlines, no restrictions – USA, we have an Open Skies with them and they also allow us in.
“Qatar Airways are allowed and approved under Covid-19 protocol. Etihad, not approved. Ethiopian Airlines allowed entry under Covid-19 protocol. Egyptair approved, allowed entry under Covid-19 protocol.

“Rwandair not approved. Air Peace, not applicable, they are our own carrier in Nigeria, we thank them. Virgin Atlantic, approved, allowed entry under COVID-19 protocol. Air Namibia, not approved. Asky, approved. Royal Air Maroc, not approved. African World Airways, Ghana, approved.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the fresh increase in the price of fuel to N151 per liter and electricity tariff to N66 per kwh under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its government, describing such as ''callous, cruel, and punishing.''



In a statement released by its National spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party demanded an immediate reversal of the prices to avert a national crisis. According to the party, the increase will result in an upsurge in the costs of goods and services and worsen the biting hardship being faced by Nigerians, who are already ''impoverished and overburdened by APC-imposed high cost of living in the last five years.''



The statement in part reads

Our party asserts that by increasing the price of fuel from the N87 per litre it sold under the PDP to an excruciating N151 while at the same time allowing the hike in electricity tariff from N30.23 per kwh to over N66, the APC has left no one in doubt that its agenda is to inflict pain and hardship on Nigerians to satisfy their selfish interests.

The unjustifiable increase in the price of these essential supplies, coming barely a week after the APC brazenly posted a support for fuel price hike, while attempting to rationalize the excruciating hardship being suffered by Nigerians under the Buhari administration, has further confirmed that the APC is at the center of the harsh policies of the Buhari Presidency.

It is distressing that the APC administration increased the cost of essential commodities at the time the leadership of other countries are offering palliatives to their citizens to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is instructive to add that our nation is doomed under the APC watch.

We know that the APC is an unfeeling party but it is indeed shocking that it could go to the extent of approving such a hike at this trying time, when many Nigerians are struggling to afford staple foods and other necessities of life.

Our party challenges the APC and the Buhari administration to publish the parameters with which it arrived at the increase of fuel price to N151 per liter given that with the prevailing values in the international market, the appropriate price template for domestic pump price in Nigeria ought not to be above N100 per liter.

Our party further challenges the APC-led Federal Government to publish details of its sleazy and over-bloated oil subsidy regime, including the involvement of APC interests in the claimed under-recovery for unnamed West African countries, running into trillions of naira, while Nigerians are made to bear the burden of high fuel costs.

Moreover, the APC and its government have failed to allow an open investigation into allegations of fuel price overcharge as well as the fraudulent subsidy regime through which over N14 trillion had allegedly been frittered by unscrupulous individuals in the APC.

Our fear is that the APC is pushing Nigerians to the wall with its obnoxious and anti-people proclivities and we caution that nobody should misinterpret the peaceful and law-abiding nature of Nigerians as a sign of weakness.

Our party therefore restates our call on the National Assembly to save the nation by calling the APC and its administration to order before they plunge our nation into chaos.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, went on his knees after Alex Bamgbola, the chairman of the Lagos state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), prophesied that he will someday rule Nigeria.

Pope Francis was rescued by firefighters after he got stuck in an elevator for 25 minutes, ahead of his weekly address on Sunday, August 31.



“I have to apologise for being late. I was trapped in a lift for 25 minutes, there was a power outage but then the firemen came,” the smiling 82-year old pontiff apologized to crowds gathered in St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City on Sunday, after showing up late for his weekly address.



Pope Francis said a “drop in tension” caused the elevator to block. He said that Holy See firefighters rescued him and asked the people in the square to applaud them.



He then went on to challenge governments to take “drastic measures” to combat global warming and reduce the use of fossil fuels, saying the world was experiencing a climate emergency.

The Police Service Commission has put on hold the ongoing recruitment process into the constable cadre of the Nigerian Police Force to enable it finalise the remaining stages of the exercise.

Head, Press and Public Relations of PSC, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, appealed to affected applicants to be patient and await further directives from the commission.

He called on those who participated in the recruitment process up to the aptitude test level, to ignore any list or information on the exercise emanating from outside the commission.

According to him, it is the responsibility of the commission to recruit Nigerians into the police whether as constables, cadet inspectors or cadet assistant superintendent of police.

He said that the commission would not abdicate the all-important mandate, adding that “it will resist any attempt to ambush the ongoing recruitment exercise or dilute its content”.

A group has called on United States, United Kingdom and other countries to be wary of the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by Nnamdi Kanu.

The Concerned Citizens Forum warned that the new operation, protest and attacks on Nigerian leaders deployed by members of the IPOB could cause havoc if not checked.

In a letter addressed by national president of CCF, Princess Ajibola and addressed to the US’ Ambassador to Nigeria, William Symington, dated Monday August 26, the forum warned of an impending terrorist movement if not properly checked in the US and other nations.

The concerned citizens urged the countries to remember that the IPOB is proscribed group in Nigeria.

Noting that the IPOB has a long history of intolerance, violent protests, disregard for constitutional authorities and bloodshed, Ajibola said if proactive steps are not taken, IPOB could escalate to another Al-Qaeda terrorist group of some sort, wreaking havoc across the world.

The concerned Nigerians, therefore, advised the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries to forthwith outlaw the group to ensure the safety of its citizens as well as foreigners, especially Nigerians.

Ajibola said: “In Nigeria, IPOB has attempted to constitute itself into a parallel government. It has continuously instigated the people against the constituted authorities through hate speeches, organization of violent protests, attacking security agents, subjecting innocent people to torture and a flagrant disregard for the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

She said IPOB has been indicted in Nigeria as aligning with foreign forces to cause political unrest in Nigeria.

She also noted that the leadership of the proscribed group have also promised monetary rewards for information on the travel plans of governors and other high ranking government officials to attack them just like they did with Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany.



“Dear Ambassador, IPOB is indeed a threat to the world, and as such, its activities must be outlawed in the United States of America,” Ajibola said.



She warned that the United States of America must rise to the occasion in this critical point to protect Nigerians living abroad and those traveling overseas from the threat posed by IPOB.



“Dear Ambassador, the Concerned Citizens Forum is constrained to write you this letter in an attempt to bring to your notice of the threat posed by IPOB and as well as to remind the government of the United States of America of its role in the entrenchment of peace all over the world.”

“It is our firm belief that the United States of America would act fast in this regards before IPOB constitutes a threat to the world,” Ajibola said.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Abuja said the entire structure of the Nigerian Police Force is being overhauled, re-positioned and primed with modern technological gadgets to meet rising challenges across the nation.

He also said an intelligence loop among all security outfits has been created.

The President spoke while receiving traditional rulers from the North led by His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III at the Presidential Villa.

In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina, the President said the ongoing reform of the police will include recruitment of more hands, cultivation of stronger local intelligence and networking with communities, traditional rulers and adequate training.

He noted that the return of the Ministry of Police Affairs was purposely to drive the new initiative of ensuring proper provision of security for lives and property, with proactive intelligence gathering to nip crimes in the bud before they escalate.

“I have decided to meet with Your Highnesses to assure you that government is determined to tackle and deal decisively with all security challenges facing us as a nation.

“This consultation therefore is to engage you, our royal fathers, so that, collectively, we can arrive at solutions to any and all security problems in the country.

“We must all play our part to finally address these security challenges, particularly traditional rulers, in your respective communities, where you feel the pulse of the people, being the closest to the populace at the grassroots level,’’ he said.

President Buhari urged the traditional rulers to provide more support to security agencies with their versatile knowledge of communities and individuals.

“These policies and programmes include a robust revamping of police intelligence gathering capacity and the significant boosting of the numbers of security personnel in our local communities. This in specific terms will include recruiting more police officers and doing so whenever possible from their local government areas, where they would then be stationed in the best traditions of policing world-wide.

“Working with the State governments also, we intend to improve the equipping of the police force with advanced technology and equipment that can facilitate their work. To drive this, I recently created a full-fledged Ministry of Police Affairs.

“As I said during my meeting with the Traditional Rulers from the South-West, directives have been issued to the appropriate federal authorities to speedily approve licensing for States requesting the use of drones to monitor forests and other criminal hideouts,’’ he added.

The President said CCTVs will be installed on highways and other strategic locations so that activities in some hidden places can be exposed, more effectively monitored and open to actionable interventions.

In his remark, the Sultan of Sokoto assured the President of the full support of traditional rulers in the country.

“We have come to assure you of our total support, total commitment and undiluted dedication to moving the nation forward as one of the best countries of the world,’’ the royal father noted.

He said the traditional thrones in various communities predated the amalgamation of the protectorates, and all the forefathers had always upheld the virtues of peace, unity and stability, assuring the President that royal fathers across the country had been in constant communication on the security challenges, promising to support the government to succeed.

The Sultan commended Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara for the relative peace in the state after he was sworn into office, and decided to open up all channels of communication, urging other governors to adopt same model.

He also called on the President to strengthen the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for more effective monitoring of drug-related situations in the country for correction and prosecutions.

A truck loaded with granite on Friday crushed an Army officer identified as R. A. Nata’ala to death in Iyana Mortuary area of Abeokuta.

The accident was said to have occurred around 10:30 a.m.

According to an eyewitness, the victim was on his motorcycle with number plate: PKA 567 QD when a truck with registration number JJJ 833 XW had brake failure.

The eyewitness said that the truck swerved off from its lane and crushed the soldier who was riding his motorcycle to death.

The truck was said to be coming from Ajebo-Idi-Aba road, and heading toward Ijaye when the incident occurred.

The eyewitness explained that the traffic light had stopped some vehicles going toward Idi-Aba including the victim’s motorcycle when the truck rammed into his soldier’s motorcycle and killed him.

Also, the spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta.

Akinbiyi said that the truck after losing control hit a Mazda car marked APP 272 DH before hitting the motorcycle marked PKA 567 QD.

He said that the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary of the State Hospital, Ijaye.

Akinbiyi, however, said that the truck driver ran away.

The Nigerian Air Force on Wedneday said it has conducted air strikes in Bula Bello on the fringes of Sambisa forest killing scores of Boko Haram terrorists and destroying their structures.

Its spokesman, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola said in a statement that two Alpha Jet fighters were used to conduct the strikes.

He said:”Air strikes being conducted by the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE under Operation GREEN SWEEP 3 have continued to yield tangible results. The latest of these results is the destruction of a Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) Logistics Base/Assembly Area at Bula Bello on the fringes of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State.

“The operation was executed today, 22 August 2019, after Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions revealed that the settlement was being used by BHT elements as a staging area to launch attacks against own troops.

“Consequently, the ATF dispatched 2 Alpha Jets and an Mi-35M helicopter to attack the identified buildings within the settlement. Overhead the target area, several BHT fighters were seen within the settlement.

“The 2 Alpha Jets therefore took turns attacking the target area, scoring direct hits on the desired points of impact. The structures were damaged by the strikes while several of the terrorists were neutralized.

“The few surviving fighters were taken out in follow-on strikes by the MI-35M attack helicopter.

An auto-crash on Thursday at Bacita junction, on Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa express way in Kwara, killed seventeen (17) people.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the accident involved an 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus and an articulated DAF trunk carrying container.

An eyewitness account revealed that the accident was due to speeding and dangerous driving as the two vehicles had head-on collision at a bend along the highway.

The source said that while 17 passengers in the bus were killed, two occupants of the articulated vehicle suffered various degrees of injuries.

Mr Udeme Eshiet, the Head of Operations of he Kwara command, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the road mishap.

He explained that the DAF container truck was going towards Jebba, in the Kwara North District, while the passengers’ bus was coming to Ilorin, the state capital, from the Northern Nigeria when the crash occurred.

The FRSC official told NAN that the crash occurred at a sharp bend, as a result of speeding, which led to head-on collision by the two vehicles.

“Due to excess speeding in which the two drivers were involved while driving their vehicles at the time when the crash occurred, they could not negotiate the sharp bend properly, and when they eventually met, it resulted in head on collision,” he said.

He, however, called on motorists to be more careful while driving on the nation’s highways during rainy season to check avoidable accidents.

According to him, passengers should not hesitate to caution or report any reckless driver to law enforcement agents.

He said the remains of the deceased had been taken to a hospital in Ilorin, with the injured victims for treatment.(NAN)

Leading transport platform, God Is Good Motors (GIGM), has demanded the removal of its name from a published list of tax defaulters by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The firm said it has fully paid documented tax liability as demanded by the services, wondering how it could have defaulted after meeting all obligations.

Besides, it declared no demand notices were served on the firm in any of its branches nationwide as required by Sections 32 (d) and 33(1) of the FIRS Establishment Act before publication of its name among defaulters.

In a nine-point rejoinder dated August 21 by Finance Director of GIGM, Mr Joseph Osanipin, the firm described FIRS action as “totally unacceptable, unprofessional and unethical.”

It said the embarrassing development was ”negatively affecting our mutual business dealings with both our foreign and local partners,” urging the FIRS to reverse it with immediate effect.

The rejoinder titled: “Unpleasant and unlawful publication of our company name as tax defaulters on print and social media” reads: “Sequel to your publication of names of tax defaulters on Public Media, amongst which our Company’s name was maliciously included, we respond thus:

“Our Company; God is Good Motors Nigeria Limited is a duly registered Company in Nigeria with full compliance with the requirements of all relevant Government Agencies one of which is the Federal Inland Revenue Service.

“That the above stated Account name with Zenith Bank GOD IS GOOD MOTORS(VEHICLE SALESS A/C) is not a different Company nor a subsidiary of our company stated above, rather it is the same company but with a modified account name for ease of reconciling our transactions.

“We registered our Business with the Federal Inland Revenue Service as far back as 2010 with a Taxpayer Identification Number: 09568000-0001, with all documented tax liability fully paid up as demanded by the service.

“FIRS has carried out series of Tax Audits on our Company with the latest being May, 2018 vide a letter from your same head office dated 18th April, 2018 and signed by the Director of Tax Audit Department which I suppose you could verify from your internal records.

“We find it totally unacceptable, unprofessional, and unethical the manner in which our account name above was published on public media.

“This is a malicious attempt at smearing the good name and brand we have struggled to build over the years without even a demand notice served on us as stipulated in the FIRS Establishment Act Section 32 (d)….” the Service shall serve a demand notice upon the company or person in whose name a tax is chargeable and if payment is not made within one month from the date of the-service of such demand notice, the Service may proceed to enforce payment under this Act”

“Also Section 33(1) of the FIRS Establishment Act also states:…” Without prejudice to any other power conferred on the Board for the enforcement of payment of tax due from a company, where an assessment has become final and conclusive and a demand notice has, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant tax laws tax in the First Schedule to this Act, been served upon the taxable person or upon the person in whose name the taxable person is chargeable, then, if payment of the tax is not made within the time limited by the demand notice, the Board may in the prescribed form, for the purpose of enforcing payment of the tax due”

“Both sections of the FIRS Establishment act stated above clearly states that a demand notice must be served on the intended taxpayer before enforcement procedures are carried out, hence we find it very embarrassing that no demand notices were served on us or any of our branches/outlets yet our name was published on public media as delinquent and defaulting taxpayers

“The FIRS should look into her records to confirm our points as stated in 1. – 8 above and update our records with your Agency to avoid any future embarrassment of this nature as our organization takes issues like this as topmost priority.

“A counter publication should be made to expunge our Company name from the list of tax defaulters as this is negatively affecting our mutual business dealings with both our foreign and local partners.”

Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu on Wednesday said it took him one and a half year to understand how Federal Ministry of Education operates when he was first assigned to the ministry.

The minister said he first had to get the idea of what education was when he first got to the ministry, adding that he could only see what was happening at the ministry after a year and half.

According to him, haven worked in the ministry for over three and a half years, he was returning home to his “family.”

He said these in his remarks when he and Emeka Nwajuiba, the new Minister of State for Education resumed briefly at the Ministry.

The ministers both arrived at about 2:45 pm after they were inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.

Buhari had retained Adamu as the main minister and named Mr. Nwajuiba as the minister of state for education.

The duo were welcomed by excited staff of the ministry led by the Permanent Secretary, Sonny Echono and some directors in the ministry.

Malam Adamu, hailed Echono and directors of the ministry for their support during his first stint in office.



He said both him and the former Minister of State for Education, Prof. Anthony Anwukah had worked hard to put together the Ministerial Strategic Plan (MSP 2016-2019) to the point of implementation before their tenure ended on May 2019, 2019.



The minister said: “We had laboured over the time on the strategic plan for the education and only to the point of implementation then we had to leave. I had the opportunity to remind President Muhammadu Buhari that the nation was expecting so much from him.

When we were sent here the first tenure, it took me one and half year to understand the ministry, it also took me as a surprise when I was re-assigned to the ministry of education. I had thought I would be sent to another ministry where I would have to learn all over again. Now, I know that I am coming back to a family.



“You all are my teachers and hopefully we will work well together again.



“The reality is the confidence I reposed in the Permanent Secretary. When I came here I had to get the idea of what education is and I could only see what is happening here after a year and half.”

Adamu noted that Nwajiuba had abandoned his Doctorate programme to serve in the cabinet of President Buhari as minister, adding that his appointment as minister of state would be helpful.

Nwajuiba was Chairman, Board of the Tertiary Education Trustfund (TETFund) until his appointment as the minister of state for education.

Nwajuiba said he was at home at the ministry.

”I am comfortable that I do not have to go to another ministry but here with my senior brother at the ministry of education I can be tutored and well directed,” he said.

The ministers were presented with the handover notes by the permanent secretary after meeting with workers.

They left immediately after the presentation.

They are expected to resume fully tomorrow and brief the press on their programmes.

The National and State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Kaduna, on Wednesday dismissed the petition of Senator Shehu Sani of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP).

He had challenged the victory of the elected Kaduna Central Senator, Uba Sani of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Delivering Judgement in Kaduna, Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice A. H. Suleiman, said the petition lacked merit.

Lead Counsel to Senator Uba Sani Barrister Frank Ikpe, said the Tribunal upheld the election of the APC Senator based on the evidences before it.

Commenting on the Tribunal’s judgment, the second lead counsel to Senator Sani, Barr. Sulaiman Shu’aibu described the judgment as appropriate, urging those that are not satisfied to go to the Court of Appeal.

Madam Comfort Oke is an 80-year-old politician who lives under the Iponri bridge at Constain in Lagos state. The homeless old woman shared her story with Legit.ng and appealed to the members of the society to come to her aid as she is frail and cannot do much for herself.

Madam Oke who is popularly addressed as Iya Ilorin has lived under the bridge for three years. She said that the death of some of her children and her husband attributed to her being homeless and consequently, an under-bridge dweller.

Iya Ilorin was a food seller before she became homeless. She urged well-meaning Nigerians to come to her aid as things are difficult for her. She can also be described as a grass root politician as she had worked with many political parties including the defunct AD.

According to the 80-year-old woman, her home which was located at Bantula was demolished. She was into trading at that time but could not continue with the food business because she had a leg injury. Her means of livelihood was taken from her and she had to resort to living under the bridge.



She said that she moves from place to place as people like her often get chased from the spots they live in. Iya Ilorin pointed to the spot that used to be hers before she found a more conducive spot under the bridge. She told Legit.ng that those occupying the spot she uses now recently rented an apartment.

The frail looking woman also said that all the properties she took out of her demolished home had been stolen in the process of living in an open space. Thus, she does not have a bed or other tangible furniture that could be found in a home.

Madam Oke wants the government to do something about her situation. She wants to have a home and be empowered. Selling petty items will be fine according to her. Legit.ng reporter asked her how she feeds on a daily basis; to this, she replied that she often gets help from people. She said she does not beg for alms.

Madam Oke’s properties were stolen in the process of moving around.

The old woman does not spend the whole day sitting under the bridge; she visits her friends and goes to the local government council at times. Whenever she is tired, she returns to her spot to sleep. She stated that she had worked at the council before. She also helps drivers call for passengers at travelling motor parks.

The homeless woman pointed to various spots under the bridge as she called them houses. This was to show that she is not alone as people also live there. These people also help her with feeding sometimes.

Iya Ilorin stated that she was actively into politics during the era of M.K.O Abiola. She was so passionate about it that she made dresses out of the campaign posters back in the days. However, she is yet to reap anything major from that aspect of her life. She said if she had been able to make money like the present politicians we have now, she would not have been homeless.
