Gotze1:Debunk the baseless rubbish he wrote above? There's a common saying that anywhere you go in the world and you don't see an Igbo man, then know that such place is not habitable. How can a people who travel and base almost everywhere on earth be afraid of their fellow country men; people they don't even feel they are in competition with in anyway? Do you know what the white men reported about the Igbos unlike other ethnic groups in Nigeria when they came? They said that the locals ( Igbos) were not even intimidated by them. That infact, the Igbos looked at them with a sort of amusement and ridiculousness; like how you'd look at an exotic specie of animal. Igbos generally consider the world as their parlor. That is why most of you feel they denigrate or disrespect the cultures of other places they reside ( which is totally false,by the way). Go to the north and southwest and everywhere in the world and see how Igbos do their thing and come back and honestly tell me they're scared of anybody. These are people who faced a whole country in a war with little or no external help. I just hate when people open their large mouths and talk absolute rubbish just to feel good about themselves. |
I stopped reading this bull*shit halfway. This piece is a product of a mind riddled with insecurity and inferiority complex. Igbos don't fear nobody;fact! I don't need to talk more on that, the indices are there for all to see. |
Boleyndynasty2:I seriously doubt if these people love themselves. Almost all the indices point to that. It's only in Igbo land that a particular sensitive national position will be keenly contested among several Igbos just out of share dislike and disunity, and they'll end up fragmenting their votes and lose. When kidnapping first started, the militants were kidnapping foreigners, but Igbo man joined in and started kidnapping his fellow Igboman. An Igbo man will cheat his brother or sister without thinking twice even while speaking Igbo language to deceive him/her more. ho to many places in the SE and you'll see that most Igbos don't travel back to their home towns due to fear of juju or kidnapping or outright assassination. I can go on and on. They are on a part of self destruction if they're not cautioned. They need to go back to the drawing board and restrategize. |
OP,grow up and stop all these useless posts. You have come again with this your infantile chest beating. If they ask you to leave now, you'll start running helter-skelter and hoping that Niger deltans, the same people you despise will speak up for you. Igbos have much more to lose should they be asked to leave the SW. Simple! Stop deceiving yourselves. When they were telling you to invest in your region you thought they wanted to cheat you and that you were wise. How many Yoruba do you see that has a massive investment in the SE? |
ApolitiCal:How will it be a shame? How about the ultimatum given to the northerners and FG by the Niger Delta militants? You've suddenly conveniently forgotten that? Aturu! People are trying to make peace and you're here fanning the embers of chaos. |
OP,the north is not a common enemy. The northerners love and hate other tribes with equal measure shown to them. Tribalism is everywhere in the country; among kinsmen, among statesmen, etc. If you're Igbo, you would know that there are some things that your fellow Igbo man would never do for you, atimes, even if you offer to pay him for it; but a northerner can do that for you without asking you for a dime. What do you say to that? The problem is with our leaders: yours and mine. Hold them accountable. Champion the right cause whether it affects you directly or not. That way,the nation will grow with conscience. |
This is very apt. Where else can you find a country that doles out billions of naira to the governors monthly who end up looting them massively and yet the citizens don't hold them accountable but prefer to be screaming referendum everywhere? It's really shameful if you look at it with an objective lens. You import all your major food items from a particular region and yet you've never sat down to do reason how you'll survive should the nation be divided... I prescribe two things for those people screaming referendum: (1) go back to school and get proper education that will make you reason critically. (2) go back to your farms or start producing something that will impact your revenues positively. |
GrandGarcon:All you whine about Stella Oduah is nothing but the intrigues of politics at play. It is about self interest. And that is how it is everywhere in the world. Stop complaining about the fate of Igbos in Nigerian politics because Igbos are mainly the architect ( that's another day's discussion,by the way). Nobody imposed your leaders on you. Was it the Northerners or the westerners that came from their region to SE to vote in Ikpeazu,Okorocha and the rest of them? How many times have you rallied and protested against your bad leaders in your region? Let me tell you, even if you get your Biafra today, you'd still continue your normal daily whining and cries of marginalization. You see why people are deeply worried about how some of you proponents of Biafra reason? You're here on the net, well hidden on an anonymous forum and declaring that there will be no election in Biafra... Funny you. That's the kind of lawless nation you people want to create. By the way, when according to you,Yorubas picked up arms against Stella Oduah, what did you Igbos do? When Yorubas started labeling Arthur Nzeribe a crook, what did you Igbos do? Were most of you not also in tandem with them and called them crooks? Did you Igbos not turn your backs and voted for the same Yoruba candidate - Abiola- who said he could do without the Igbo nation? Let me tell you this: Igbos need to start reeducating themselves; because they're getting it all wrong at all fronts. |
GrandGarcon:You're using Aba,a very small tiny drop in the ocean to examplify the whole the Igbo nation should Biafra be actualized. Granted Aba people are trying even without major government assistance, still it's not enough to cater for millions of Igbos. Do you know how long it took Aba people to get to their present stage as entrepreneurs? Also, the fact that Aba is still underdeveloped despite the huge billions of naira that her governors have been getting and the huge potentials that lie in Aba should make reasonable Igbos to think deeply. Why do you think the federal government will build projects for you in your region when you can't even play simple politics of self interest to help yourselves and all you chant daily is Biafra! Biafra!! Biafra!!! They'll simply consider siting any major project in SE as waste because they believe your hearts are not in the country. It is not their duty to seduce you into having a stake in the polity of the country; rather it is your duty to claim a stake for yourself. What have your leaders, the leaders that are closest to you done with the allocations in billions that come to them monthly? |
GrandGarcon:My Brother,I have traveled to all parts of the SE and I know them very very well. You think those are massive land mass? Have you considered the population of Igbos? Where will you site industries? Where will you build houses that millions of Igbos will live? Where will you farm? Where will your animals graze? Have you been to Umuahia? Have you been to Aba? Have you been to Awka? Do you see how those places are compacted? Even Ebonyi state is becoming increasingly inadequate to cater for her citizens. Wake up Bro! |
eph12:Igbos are not begging to stay because they still don't understand what is at stake. They don't understand the dynamics of Nigerian politics. The fact that one of the largest ethnic groups in the country, being Igbo,is complaining of marginalization should speak volumes. Why can't Igbos compete favorably in Nigerian polity? All these other regions are not begging Igbos to stay; they just want Igbos who they know can "wisely" help them develop their regions to stay. They're in effect using Igbos as cheap labor source. Imagine this: an Igbo man opens up a large company in SW,employs a percentage of the local indigenes as required by law,and still pays tax to the government of that state. What can be more stupid to the Igbo man than that? Think about this: do you know that garri is more expensive than wheat produced in SW in SE? Imagine, ordinary Garri o that should normally be produced in the SE that should be as cheap as satchet water now more expensive than a packaged product imported into the SE. |
OP,honestly, you deserved to be flogged. How can a girl, one girl like that make you to start considering suicide? Is your destiny tied with hers? Let me tell you: there are billions of girls all over the world. What makes you think that this particular girl is the one for you no matter what you've done for her or all both of you have been together? Better wake of from your deep slumber and realize that you have a destiny distinct from that girl. Use this opportunity to develop yourself; make yourself a better person as much as you can; become the best in your chosen field and watch everything fall on your feet. Women are helpers; and you can definitely do without a female helping hand to achieve your destiny. Wake up! |
eph12:Just compare what you described above with what is presently happening in South sudan. Seastern governors receive billions monthly in allocation:why have they not proven themselves and developed at a "faster rate"? Or you think these present criminal crop of Igbo leaders won't be the ones ruling Igbos if Biafra is actualized? By the way,the present Igbo elites are mainly the reason why Biafra has not been actualized yet. Igbos want Biafra and yet an average Igbo man that wants to open up a company will simply go elsewhere apart from Igboland to initiate it. How many Yorubas or Northerner do you see opening up big companies in SE? Infact,Yorubas majorly don't invest heavily elsewhere apart from their region. And that is why the northerners can not give them the kind of "pack-and-go" ultimatum they rountinely give to SE people. Because they know they'll have much more to lose since the northerners themselves invest heavily in SW. These are common-sense politics that every Igboman should know. What I'm saying is that Biafra is a totally Bad idea for now. Igbos still have a lot of homework,a lot, before they start seeking for Biafra. Otherwise,South sudan will be a child's play compared to the fate of Igbos. |
Jabioro:I feel so ashamed when I hear Igbos talk like you did here. Does it mean Igbos can't have solid logical debates anymore? Someone who's obviously Igbo is asking a very pertinent question and all people like yourself do is to insult him and whip up some sentimental maxim. I'm seriously beginning to think that there's serious lack of fundamental reasoning in majority of Igbos and high rate of illiteracy. I mean,Igbos do go to school (atleast the few of them who do),what kind of eduvation do they receive? What quality of education do they get? Go to majority of the universities and other higher education institutions in Igboland and you'll find out that they're poorly equipped and riddled with all manner of malpractices. All these make the average Igboman reason like dummies or they don't even reason at all. Listen to a so-called uneducated hausa man or fulani man or a Yoruba man analyze politics and you'd see an in-depth logical analysis on play. Compare that with a so-called educated Igboman and you'd shake your head in pity. Simple question: how will the Igboman survive if Biafra is actualized soon? |
eph12:My Brother, Southeast doesn't have enough land mass to cater for the agricultural needs of the South easterners should Biafra be actualized. Even right now that Igbos are widely spread all over the country and world,Igbos don't have enough land to cater for their needs. Go round the eastern regions and see things for yourself. Presently, things are very expensive in markets in SE ; I mean very basic food stuff that should be normally produced in the SE. Check almost all the biscuits, detergents, soaps, beverages, and notice that almost all of them are produced alsewhere apart from the east. These are salient indices that speak volumes. Igbos have greater advantage currently being in Nigeria than when they get Biafra. The Igbo man generally loves to travel around and do business. Do you think that other regions will welcome them with open arms and not restrict their movements and activities should Biafra be actualized? Let me tell you,the Yoruba nation, the northerners, some SS people want their independent nation, but they know the time isn't right for that now for them. They're busy attracting developments, investors and basic federal structures in their regions so that they can have the basic foundation to stay on their own should this nation break up. Do you think they're all stupid? Igbos should be wiser than this. They shouldn't allow a few disgruntled people lead them into undue catastrophe. |
Op,you've said it all. Igbos should retrace their steps. The enlightened Igbos should caution the illiterate ones who are bent on leading them tp anarchy. Ask yourself this: if Biafra is actualized today, how will the Biafrans feed? I ask because Igbos don't farm again. All of the Igbo youths now want to ride Okada or Keke or do business ( buying and selling of what other people manufacture). Nobody wants to go to farm again. Infact, there farmlands will not even be enough to support the millions of Igbos that will be forced to relocate to the S/E on actualization of Biafra. This is why all food stuff ( I mean all) are much more expensive in the S/E than any other place in the country. This includes even palm oil that is supposed be majorly produced in the S/E. |
chaloner:You see ehh,if you were near me,the kind knock wey I for give you for that your head you go agile up go carry your book read and learn about life. You think say Biafra and Igbos will survive if Biafra is actualized by repeating some nonsensical maxims? Better stop commenting on serious issues such as this else you'll end up deceiving others as ignorant as you. |
chaloner:Patriotism? So what stops you from being patriotic to your south eastern state as a Nigerian? |
dlondonbadboy:If nothing else,as a Nigerian, you have the advantage of number. Igbos are majorly traders,so they have a wider range of consumers that patronize them. Secondly, the billions of naira that your state governors get as monthly allocation that you never for once hold them accountable for will still be coming. Also,Igbos are people who travel a lot and live in different places. If Biafra is actuality, that privilege will be lost. Igbo land can not accommodate all the Igbos spread all over the country. There will be chaos and strife. |
chaloner:Can you tell me one thing you stand to gain if Biafra is actualized? |
chaloner:I'm not. I was just stating my opinion just as you were. |
dlondonbadboy:My Brother,I see you're a proponent of Biafra and I have a feeling that you can be reasonable enough. Tell me what major thing, just one, that you will stand to gain if Biafra is actualized? |
chaloner:I should be asking you that. Why would you make that your earlier comment if you know not all citizens don't support referendum? |
chaloner:If you have something to say,why don't you say it instead of making blanket statement. You think all Igbos are in support of Biafra? |
I honestly think Igbos should let this quest for Biafra go; atleast for now. Igbos are not ripe to have their own country yet. They should hold their leaders ( Governors and others) accountable for now and develop themselves and their region for now. This is an honest advice that every right thinking Igbo man will know is true. |
Nigerians have become endangered species under this administration. What happened to all the promises made by Buhari and his gangs about restoring the image of Nigerians home and abroad? |
ehikwe22:This one go just open mouth dey talk rubbish just to feel good. No worry, very soon I jaws will come and drag your lands and then your brain will reset. |
Somebody will just come online and be posting absolute thrash after drinking some bottles of cheap beer. Now OP,who asked for your opinion? Do you think you know better than other eminent Igbo and non Igbo who are willing to give a listening ear to the demand of Biafra? And how does Biafra connect with whether Buharinis back or not? Drunk! |
I don't think this order will pull through. Benue state and some other states are on for a long thing. You guys were instrumental to fighting Biafra during the civil war,the core Hausa/Fulani helped to bring you to power as the Governor, not so? They practically dictate your Government. And now you want to prove that you've grown wings over night. You have to pay the dues of the deals you made. |
Igbo don't give a hoot about your stereotypes. Why? Because they don't just give a damn. They only feel they're in competition with themselves and nobody else. So you can say whatever you like all day long but don't forget that these people came out of a war that no other Nigerian ethnic has ever experienced, and are doing just fine. I mean, that's more than commendable. |
