FlyoruB: Guy, I don't want to believe you are as daft as your question suggests? But FYI, even in a conglomerate, a single ethnicity can predominate. Eg Yoruba can constitute as high as 60-70% of the population while 3 or more other minority ethnicities share the remainder. Comprende?? I asked a very innocent question and you reverted to veiled insults. Well, what do I know? The little I 'comprende' is that Kwara state belongs to the Emirate and no matter the huffs and puffs, has remained so. Kapish? |

FlyoruB: 'O to ge' is a Yoruba statement. That alone validates and reinforces Yoruba preeminence in Kwara even though the state is a conglomerate of different cultures and languages. Scare/bully tactics by the Saraki camp can't stop the movement. In one breathe you Yoruba prominence in Kwara,in another you agreed Kwara is conglomerate. where do you actually stand? |

PearlStreet: Bro, that's the sad truth.
That's how most Igbos see other Nigerians. Igbos and others.
Chinua Achebe carried this same bitterness in him and that's why he wrote the last piece of trash he wrote. In fact, GEJ was so pissed that he didn't give Chinua Achebe a state burial and Chinua was buried like a dog.
Do you know that till today, as eternally stupid as it sounds, most Igbos still blame Soyinka for not allowing Chinua Achebe win a Nobel.
One was arguing with me last year that Achebe didn't win a Nobel cos he supported Biafra. I had to remind him the Soyinka supported Biafra and in fact, was jailed for supporting Biafra. As at when Soyinka was jailed for Biafra, Chinua Achebe was travelling around the world, sleeping with college girls in America.
Chumamanda is just a chip off the old block: clannish, tribalistic, bitter and frustrated feminist. You have a very big issue but you don't seem to know it yet. Chimamanda simply mentioned the people she considered her motivators and you're here displaying your inherent envy all over the forum. You're a very toxic being who shouldn't be allowed near successful people. 7 Likes 1 Share |

OP, my thoughts: There was a time lapse between the incidences of the first verse and second verse of Genesis chapter one. There were creations who existed after the crration if heaven and earth in verse one. But something happened. Either the creations were destroyed or they were removed to a place not within this physical earth's plane. When fossils of animals and humanoid species of billions of years old are discovered, they could belong to these beings that existed until the second verse of Genesis chapter one. I'm also thinking that maybe those humanoid beings were not created in the image and likeness of God. A later verse of Genesis stated " Now let us make man in our own image and likeness...." A type of man existed before, but maybe not made in the image and likeness of God. |

The yorubas , Igbos and the Hausa/Fulani y'all are same big for nothing tribes that can't run a country, a small country created for you by the British . The other day some idiots were paid to claim to come from the Niger Delta even as they couldn't spell the names properly and today a Niger Delta woman is exposing your insecurities which you quickly labelled Yoruba insecurity when it was obvious that the woman in question was referring generally to a Nigerian problem and calling out the tribes that are Nigeria's problems like you guys as mentioned above . Leave the Niger Delta out of this - The Niger Delta can never be used as a pawn by any of the big for nothings . The errors of 1967 will not happen under our watch. This is absolute bullcrap. You simply wanted to vent your anger somewhere apart from your people, while conveniently ignoring the roles your people played in making Nigeria as messed up as it is today. GEJ ,your kinsman was in charge for about 6 years or more, what exceptional things did he do to justify this your ranting? You've now suddenly woken up from your slumber, after years of degradation of your region, and started blaming every other person apart from your own people. mtcheww. |

bakynes: Well let me educate some kids here, I agree with that People would choose to believe whatever they want to anyway doesn't change the fact.
The fact the throne of Lagos was created by a Bini Prince doesn't make it Bini land. Just like the throne of Onitsha was created by the Oba of Benin too doesn't make Onitsha a Benin land.
Pre Colonial times, the Benin Empire had a strong influence on a large expanse of people across the Niger to the East and west down towards Oyo and Dahomey Empire.
We all know the first settlers on the now Lagos (Eko) are the Aworis who welcomed a Bini Prince and asked him to rule over them because they were defending them from the Dahomey warriors. But the throne after the 3rd generation was been ruled by the Aworis after the Oba then didn't have a male child so his daughter married an indigene.
The fact that the present day Britain(Britannia) was a name given to them by the Roman Empire in today's Italy and ruled by Roman commander put in charge by the Emperor but they ruled Anglo-saxons(English people) doesn't make mean Britain of now is owned by the Italian people of Roma (or Rome)
Many places in Jerusalem, Bethlehem during the time of Jesus Christ was ruled by Roman Pilates and Commander, they ruled Jews, Hebrews and Pharisees. It's all due to the influence of the then Roman Empire does that make Present day Isreal a Roman Land?
Even Egypt is not left out,The Emperor Julius Caesar sent a Roman commander of Mark Anthony to rule over Egypt during the time of Cleopatra does that make present day Egypt a Roman land or Italian land?
So like wise is the issue of Lagos and Onitsha the Benin emissaries and Prince from Benin ruled over the indigenous people.
After the fall of the Benin Empire likewise the Fall of the Roman Empire the indigenous people started ruling themselves.
So there is no argument there Lagos is Yoruba land. The present Oba of Lagos is an Awori man.
There is even a difference between Lagos Island and Lagos state.
Lagos Island where the Oba of Lagos rules down towards Ota in Ogun state is Awori land but the Ikorodu and Epe area is owned by the Ijebu people.
Many non-Yorubas wouldn't know these things because they aren't connected to the land all they see is the Bridge, Roads, Buildings etc they don't know the history of the land. OP,this is about the most logical and Objective historical accounts of the Igbos I've read. You'll wonder why there are Igbo-mina,Ijebu-ode and the rest of them in SWestern lexicon and yet the SW people don't have enough logical explanation for that. Even the Binis have in their historical account of their rulers called Ogisos ( I'm not too sure of the title now) who they don't know exactly their origin. And instructively, the Igbos claim those guys are of Igbo origin. An elderly person once told me that Igbos once inhabited some of these places that are presently outside of SE region, and to mark that they planted some trees like Iroko which can still be seen today. Also, when you look at the attributes of the different people that make up the regions in present day Nigeria, you'll see similarities among them in terms of physic and character which differ distinctly with others. What I'm saying is that, most people in present day Nigeria are related. Infact, you can say to a reasonable extent that they're brothers and sisters. So when next you pick up that your phone ready to fight your e-battle,remember that you might be fighting your brother; more related ro you than someone from your Village. |

As for physiotherapy, make sure you reach the very zenith in the field; that way you'll be highly sought after. |
