PoliticsRe: The Demonization Of The Yorubas. by michelz: 12:22pm On Mar 25, 2017
Newmanluckyman:
... Let me burst your half-baked theory as per the bolded. Assuming that the yoruba or southwest region has been suffering the INJUSTICES and NEGLECT as done to the Niger Delta region as regards to oil exploration in their land, won't the yoruba or southwest region resorts to Militancy so as to air their grievances? Answer this question objectively. The OP has already advise you. First remove the speck in your eyes before offering to help others. Injustice to one person, group, tribe is an injustice to all. Peace!
I'm not sure you understood the main point of discussion here.
How would you know for sure if the SW people would resort to militancy if they faced similar situation like the South-south? They may very well decide to increase the rate of ritualism or 'agberoism' in their region,or find other ways to air their dissatisfaction; must it be militancy?
And your point is totally off tangent,by the way.
The SS may have their 'good' reasons for militancy, but it is what it is. And the effects(positive or negative) are there.

Ladrang:
Here we go again. Isn't this over-generalisation? Can you provide counter-evidence for. For every one you give, I promise to give two to counter it.
I think we should be careful how we label things over generalization or stereotypes. Nobody is saying that Yoruba don't have their good attributes or that all of them exhibit all these vices you call stereotypes;no.
I will give you instances: why do you think oil companies prefer to have their head quarters in Abuja or Lagos, when the main resources of their business lie in the south-south? The answer is very simple: those guys( most of them in south-south) are very much prone to militancy. Period.
Why is it that most Pentecostal churches or other christian denominations tend to avoid the core northern states in their activities? Reason is the core northerners up there are more prone to religious intolerance and crisis than other regions. Very simple.
You don't have to lie over what is a known fact just to make a particular people feel good or to be seen as a detribalized Nigerian.
Let me tell you the truth: most people traveling for the first time to some southwestern states are warned severely about ritualism, and we see incidences of that occurring almost on daily bases.
And you call all these stereotypes?
PoliticsRe: The Demonization Of The Yorubas. by michelz: 6:52am On Mar 25, 2017
OP,you don't just call things stereotypes without evidence or with watery evidence like the ones you provided. All you can say is not ALL Yorubas are lazy, cowards, dirty, backstabbers and untrustworthy, but the majority of them are. Infact,an average Yoruba displays all these attributes.
It is something that has to do with DNA or environment, I think.

oyatz:
Thanks bro for responding with equanimity.
1) When P/Harcourt fell, igbos fled but not every humanbeings fled. Ikwerre, Ijaws and other peoples stayed.
2) When Onitsha,Enugu, Awka and Aba fell, all the igbos didn't run away. where will they run to?
3) If igbos ran away from 'their own' towns, were their properties also confiscated and also declared abandoned properties 'in their own towns'
4) Do you have villages named for Igbo descendants in a place igbos are aboriginal, just as we have Sabongari for Hausa people in most southern states? Why having a village for igbo descendants in the heart of Ikwerre land if Ikwerre and igbos are one and the same peoples?
Can you provide evidences of Languages, names of people or towns of Ikwerre that are not Igboid before the precolonian era or before the civil war (at least) to prove that Ikwerres had a distinct identity different from Igbo.
PoliticsRe: Israeli Investors Give Technical Support To Igbo Youth As IMC Inspects Projects. by michelz: 8:48pm On Mar 18, 2017
The reasonable question people should ask is why Igbo?
Well, you need to be an Igbo to know why. Suffice it to say that these people (Igbo) are special.

Mr man, stop saying things you know nothing about.
Who told you Benin Kingdom was the earliest compared to other kingdoms in Nigeria?
This is the kind of revisionist histories you people make that you use to claim other people's lands.

Maybe the Ijaws were the first inhabitants of that area before the Benins came in with their usual conquest agenda. I'm just speculating o...

Human beings have refused to learn because of greed, hatred and envy.
I remember very well how Ijaws on this forum would be claiming known Igbo lands and communities in Nigeria and the Binis would be supporting them because of in-born hatred for the Igbos. Now look at it now. It has come to their doorsteps to bite their behinds.
Good for them! smiley

Guy what is even the issue with you? What kind of heartlessness is this?
You think anybody who doesn't want Buhari to contest 2019 is automatically against Buhari? Meanwhile, you're the one who doesn't wish Buhari and this nation well. You want someone who has health challenges to continue as the president while the nation continues to bleed, and if something bad happens to him (God forbid),youll start touting him as a heroe. Tufiakwa!
Better change your ways.

Months ago, we all heard that military men mistakenly hit their bomb on civilians and we all are blaming them. But when I was going through my physics textbook under the Topic projectile on page 131 I notice something which says;
Air resistance, wind or pilot's incompetence can cause the bomb to miss the military target and hit civilians near the vicinity. These three factors are what cause the attack on the refugee camp.
Guy,you've said nothing new,honestly.

I must be dreaming here. Never thought a day would come when the Yoruba would be talking about secession, not to talk of including some parts of south south and middle belt in their proposed country. Interesting.
Does it mean they've had their eyes on these placed all these while but have been playing their usual character of cowardice and chameleon attitude.

I really dont give two spoons the ethnicity or religion of the person in power. I am from Niger Delta myself.

I base my judgements on results..no sentiments whatsoever. If based on performance PMB and Osinbajo have to go, so be it, i wont even bat an eyelid.

Sentiments is why we are in this rot we are in as a nation.
And you think they're doing well enough for you not to harass them the way you did to GEJ. You see,I agree that sentiment is part of the reasons we're in this mess, but pretence and especially, playing the ostrich when it favors you is far worse.
PoliticsRe: Acting President Osinbajo Is Not A ‘Nigerian’ - DELSU Lecturer by michelz: 3:24pm On Mar 07, 2017
alt3r3g0:
I can only speak for myself....i was against Gej based on performance.

If PMB likes...let him keep us in recession and blame poor performance on Niger Delta Avengers. He will still be shown the way out.

Naija now is no more about excuses hence the one naija protest.
Yes,right now,you would claim that you were against GEJ based on performance because Osibanjo is involved, but we all know better; we know why you fought GEJ,we know why you wanted Buhari (not Osibanjo that you're now hyping) as president.
FYI,if Buhari is shown the way out,Osibanjo goes as well.
If you say Buhari is not performing, then Osibanjo too is incompetent. Simple.

alt3r3g0:
Where is it in the constitution that presidency has been zoned?
you want to see it in black and white in the constitution before you understand the politics at play in Nigeria? If so,why did almost all northerners and south westerners turn against GEJ and practically made his government uncomfortable?
They said then it was the tenure of Yaradua that GEJ was doing. What has changed now? Is it no more their tenure because it's Osibanjo?

Ioannes:
I get the gist of what you're saying.

He is like a breath of fresh air on the political landscape of Nigeria.

Nigerians denied Awolowo the opportunity to rule this country to greatness in the 80s

This is another opportunity before us.

We would be stupid indeed if this man is not made substantive president and also voted in for the next two terms after.

May God continue to guide Osinbajo to make the right choices for this nation.
you're funny. What you see Osibanjo do is a credit to his principal, Buhari. All his actions are directed by Buhari. So don't make it look like Osibanjo is doing something else different from what Buhari would do. Moreover,it's the turn of northerners to rule, and they must complete their tenure.

Kudos to them. One of these days, they'll get the enabling environment and then truly, the world will come and learn from them.
