Newmanluckyman:I'm not sure you understood the main point of discussion here. How would you know for sure if the SW people would resort to militancy if they faced similar situation like the South-south? They may very well decide to increase the rate of ritualism or 'agberoism' in their region,or find other ways to air their dissatisfaction; must it be militancy? And your point is totally off tangent,by the way. The SS may have their 'good' reasons for militancy, but it is what it is. And the effects(positive or negative) are there. |
vikkimimi:Ladies are their greatest enemies. |
Ladrang:I think we should be careful how we label things over generalization or stereotypes. Nobody is saying that Yoruba don't have their good attributes or that all of them exhibit all these vices you call stereotypes;no. I will give you instances: why do you think oil companies prefer to have their head quarters in Abuja or Lagos, when the main resources of their business lie in the south-south? The answer is very simple: those guys( most of them in south-south) are very much prone to militancy. Period. Why is it that most Pentecostal churches or other christian denominations tend to avoid the core northern states in their activities? Reason is the core northerners up there are more prone to religious intolerance and crisis than other regions. Very simple. You don't have to lie over what is a known fact just to make a particular people feel good or to be seen as a detribalized Nigerian. Let me tell you the truth: most people traveling for the first time to some southwestern states are warned severely about ritualism, and we see incidences of that occurring almost on daily bases. And you call all these stereotypes? |
OP,you don't just call things stereotypes without evidence or with watery evidence like the ones you provided. All you can say is not ALL Yorubas are lazy, cowards, dirty, backstabbers and untrustworthy, but the majority of them are. Infact,an average Yoruba displays all these attributes. It is something that has to do with DNA or environment, I think. |
The man (Buhari) is an old man; cut him some slack please. We should even be thankful that he has not run this nation completely aground, while we await for 2019. |
oyatz:Can you provide evidences of Languages, names of people or towns of Ikwerre that are not Igboid before the precolonian era or before the civil war (at least) to prove that Ikwerres had a distinct identity different from Igbo. |
The reasonable question people should ask is why Igbo? Well, you need to be an Igbo to know why. Suffice it to say that these people (Igbo) are special. |
dederocs:Mr man, stop saying things you know nothing about. Who told you Benin Kingdom was the earliest compared to other kingdoms in Nigeria? This is the kind of revisionist histories you people make that you use to claim other people's lands. |
ch91:You go just open your mouth dey talk wetin you no know. Who told you that 'Obaze' is not an Igbo word? And you think also that 'Iweka' is an Igbo word? My friend, there's no major influence Bini has in Anambra apart from the normal incidence of cultures mutually borrowing from each other. |
There must be a reason the Ijaws claim it belongs to them, not so? They can't just wake up one morning and start claiming other people's land, right? Maybe the Ijaws were the first inhabitants of that area before the Benins came in with their usual conquest agenda. I'm just speculating o... |
gawu1:lol... Still chanting your normal Zombi*e slogan? Continue, you have all day. |
gawu1:yet again you keep saying wailing wailers, proving me right that that is just the only thing you know. Make a simple comment without chanting 'wailer' or 'Sai Baba' and I will start taking you serious. Brainwash*ed do*lt. |
gawu1:oh please just shut up! What do you even know about politics apart from chanting 'wailers' and 'Sai Baba'? |
Human beings have refused to learn because of greed, hatred and envy. I remember very well how Ijaws on this forum would be claiming known Igbo lands and communities in Nigeria and the Binis would be supporting them because of in-born hatred for the Igbos. Now look at it now. It has come to their doorsteps to bite their behinds. Good for them! ![]() |
Progressive01:Guy what is even the issue with you? What kind of heartlessness is this? You think anybody who doesn't want Buhari to contest 2019 is automatically against Buhari? Meanwhile, you're the one who doesn't wish Buhari and this nation well. You want someone who has health challenges to continue as the president while the nation continues to bleed, and if something bad happens to him (God forbid),youll start touting him as a heroe. Tufiakwa! Better change your ways. |
seunlly:Guy,you've said nothing new,honestly. |
Who takes Oshiomhole serious. He has proven himself time and time again not to be different from the average thieving tribalistic Nigerian politician. |
OP,seems like you don't know the meaning of hypocrisy. How does all what you wrote depict hypocrisy? Instead of you to spend time educating yourself, you'd be everywhere displaying your ignorance. Go do something meaningful with your life. |
How did you get this info? Are you Awolowo? |
What's the purpose of this thread now? Eeh? Una go just dey open senseless topics everywhere. |
OP go home,you're drunk. |
GEJ's government built almajiri schools for them provided other aspects of social security for them and what did they do in return? Called him infidel, threw him stones and satchet water and voted in their brother. All I can do is to relax and watch. |
I must be dreaming here. Never thought a day would come when the Yoruba would be talking about secession, not to talk of including some parts of south south and middle belt in their proposed country. Interesting. Does it mean they've had their eyes on these placed all these while but have been playing their usual character of cowardice and chameleon attitude. |
alt3r3g0:And you think they're doing well enough for you not to harass them the way you did to GEJ. You see,I agree that sentiment is part of the reasons we're in this mess, but pretence and especially, playing the ostrich when it favors you is far worse. |
alt3r3g0:Yes,right now,you would claim that you were against GEJ based on performance because Osibanjo is involved, but we all know better; we know why you fought GEJ,we know why you wanted Buhari (not Osibanjo that you're now hyping) as president. FYI,if Buhari is shown the way out,Osibanjo goes as well. If you say Buhari is not performing, then Osibanjo too is incompetent. Simple. |
alt3r3g0:you want to see it in black and white in the constitution before you understand the politics at play in Nigeria? If so,why did almost all northerners and south westerners turn against GEJ and practically made his government uncomfortable? They said then it was the tenure of Yaradua that GEJ was doing. What has changed now? Is it no more their tenure because it's Osibanjo? |
A times I wonder if these people are in the same country with the rest of us. Over comfort has made them arrogant and deadened to what the masses face. |
Ioannes:you're funny. What you see Osibanjo do is a credit to his principal, Buhari. All his actions are directed by Buhari. So don't make it look like Osibanjo is doing something else different from what Buhari would do. Moreover,it's the turn of northerners to rule, and they must complete their tenure. |
Aba is one of the wonders of the world,I think. How a people will come out of a war that claimed millions of lives and still achieve extraordinary feats such ad the above is amazing. Kudos to them. One of these days, they'll get the enabling environment and then truly, the world will come and learn from them. |
LePrezident:I think I'm done with you,it has degenerated to chit-chats which seem to be your area of expertise. Keep on laughing. |
LePrezident:You say I'm high but you're the one laughing since yesterday over nothing. Keep on laughing and displaying your normal Ostrich character. We know your type. |
