CornOak: Our crosses are poor. There's no striker in this game. #BlackFace. But why are you blaming the Striker when the crosses have been poor? For a team that thrives on wing play, and for a fullback that is supposedly better than Walker, I have seen absolutely zilch from Ebuehi. Chai see how they just carved us open |

Onuachu does not even know if he is a striker or a midfielder. Chukwueze needs to understand that there is football without the ball, his off the ball movement is utter crap. |

Icon4s: Ok, so firstly, you agree we are no longer where we were before he took over.
Where were we since after the 1994 WC?
Where were we during the period where players selected matches to play?
Where were we when coaches usually had problems with key members of the team?
Where were we when coaches would rather than inviting the best available players, keep 7 slots in the team for home based players?
Maybe you expect us to by now be rubbing shoulders with the bests in the world. No coach has ever achieved that for Nigeria, not even the 94 class. Please give Rohr some credit for moving us from where we were, at the point of his take over, to where we are now. But I did that, I gave him credit for the initial stability he managed to establish, it was very much needed. but now the structure is there and we need more, maybe I am speaking from an uninformed position because I haven't watched in a while but Rohr still uses the same old tactics, we aren't going to win the afcon with that. By the way eh, change this your signature, absolutely nothing to be proud about Naija, we are already on our way out of this shithole. I used to believe in Naija oh, I work in a military hospital so the pay is brilliant but boss, I no fit handle this country again. no dey put Christ before Naija. Someday sha, someday we will make it better |

TheSuperNerd: Now that Icon79 is back doing his O Pari tins and My Colleague and "Always Controversial" Debate Comrade Mickael2 have returned. I can say I really look forward to some more interesting discussions (and really rib cracking ones too) during and after the friday game. Hehehehehehe...
I and Mickael2 are normally on opposite sides in arguments but we were just getting along and surprisingly agreeing on some discussions before he disappeared and then Covid especially struck. He went away. I also went away but returned later. And now he too has returned. Good to see you again Mickael2. Wanted the dust to settle well so I can welcome you specially. You will sit next to me for the Algeria game....
..... So that if you open your mouth and aim any jibe/yab at Iheanacho if he does play ehn, I can easily Konk that head of yours.
Ahhhh... Sweetness. If only Mujtahida and even one of my great debate rivals and TheGoodjoe's Long debate Companion, Goldfish80 can show face small. Especially Goldfish... Our dear Cameroun team expert.
It's good to have the team together again for another assault on International week. Let the flow of analytical perspectives, the optimistic views, pessimistic views, the funny comments and more resume in abundance. For the Gang has come together again.
O Pari Master, Icon79 himself... Combining football Matters with his search for his lost rib in here ..... And Mickael2, always the sharp-talking controversial "big head"
Your returns have "added depth to the thread's squad." The Originals are back. Let's roll.
O pari. Man, you just reminded me a lot about the good old days. Actually I kinda like Nacho now oh, shocking yes but true. The last game I watched was ManU vs Leicester last season, dude was very good and hungry and selfish, all you need to excel but of course he was subbed instead of Vardy. can't want to watch Algeria game, should be a perfect yardstick to evaluate how far we have gone. Abeg do you mean Joe doesn't show up again ? |

Subzero047: Wow top 30 is not good enough, you were expecting a miracle worker? Depends on where you look at it from. We have ranked higher than that yes? and the coaches then didn't have close to this current pool no? You can look at it from the angle of 'hey, we were worse off before the came so any positive movement is tremendous', but if you survey it from the angle of the current youth players coming through, I mean before Rohr, Iwobi and Nacho, one an academy player and the other, well, lol, but right now check what he has. We dropped our standards too low too for him. |

AndSunGorilla: D balls loving doctor, welcome back. Glad to read from you again and thank you for your service in the frontlines. Meanwhile coach Rohr is still very much in control and it doesn't look like he's going away soon. Which player(s) are you looking forward to watch perform in the GWG. Thanks a lot Boss. it hasn't been easy the past 8-6 months, it hasn't. I can't remember the last time I comfortably watched a football game. Nigeria is a messed up country, she really is. I think Akpoguna, I don't know if he was invited but I guess, but on the other spectrum I'd say Iwobi, managed to catch the Everton-Brighton game and somehow he was sharp, kinda playing to impress but generally sharp. I think if Ancelotti is going to watch our game then he will perform but let's see how it goes. |

Or was it Rohr that made Iheanacho fall into a terrible rot? Don't forget that Ighalo was second choice to Iheanacho, he fought for his place, scored the goals and got recognition, so what did Rohr do |

chrisooblog:
wow wow wow I be sounding like an ambulance lol
This odion ighalo transfer to Manchester United I'll be honest I never saw coming but I'm really happy for him from a career and sentimental point of view. Truly he serves a living God and dreams Do Come True.
Speaking strictly as a football fan obviously Manchester United could have signed younger better quality forwards in this window but to be fair to Jude a lot of top clubs wanted to sign him so he must have good qualities those clubs think they can utilise. No doubt about it when in-form odion ighalo is a very good finisher. I dislike Manchester United but I wish him all the best at the theatre where dreams come true. It wasn't really shocking, as a matter of fact I think he made the wrong decision. Dude could have been a Barca player by now but let us keep that one aside, personally I'd go to Inter or Spurs over Man U. Come on, Inter is fighting for the Serie A and Lukaku isn't exactly the best striker there is, Spurs are in the champions league and Mou uses strong, physical strikers very well. On the other hand, he moves to a spineless team coached by possible the worst coach ManU has ever had, not to mention the English bias in Man U, if Rashford comes back where does that leave Ighalo? In fact that is a long time away, do you think ManU will just leave Greenwood on the bench permanently? For me sha, he should have ignored the name, signed for Spurs, shine in the UCL and then when your rep is high, move to another team in need of a striker. |

Meliforme: Where is Mickael2, so someone cannot strenghten the neural connections and develop the motor mechanisms requisite for a particular physical activity. I was very sure I will bring this up. Ndidi's passing acuity has improved in leaps. You quoted a message you didn't even understand. At the end of the day you are showing me passing accuracy when I specifically mentioned defence splitting passes AKA creativity, you can pass the ball between you and the CBs and have a 90% accuracy, big deal. But when he had that argument, it was based on Ndidi's creative aspect, which I said creativity cannot exactly be learnt, finding that defence splitting pass isn't what the coach will teach you and I don't think he has proved me wrong yet, not that that is a bad thing, that isn't his game and he is good at what he does, winning back possession and keeping it simple. |

TheSuperNerd: I know Musa did something similar. I am well aware of that actually when he was at Kano Pillars. That's why I only referred to Ikedia. See Michael?
And yes, Martinelli is a real young top talent but his goal yesterday is not the reason I say so. The goal just shows more of what he's got in his locker. It's not like several others haven't scored any better.
And uhmmm, Martinelli's better than Son's goal?? I won't take that either from the Arsenal fans. I like Martinelli very much in fact but mehn... Truthfully, his goal yesterday got nothing on Son's abeg. Please don't mind those fans saying so. They are obviously drunk with the atmosphere around the Martinelli goal. Lol We can agree on this. Heard Real Madrid are now after him, shows how good he is, I like his work rate though, he isn't like Atletico Madrid's Felix, the dude wants to work hard for the team and win with the team and for the team, currently I think that is the only part of Chukwueze's game that is lacking, that drive to suffer with your teammates, to maintain positional discipline, to do what you are meant to do and even cover for your teammates, if he can get that then I don't really think this Martinelli guy has much on him |

mostob: am not trying to hype the goal but I just want to ask... what really made kante to slip? I will answer by asking you if you play football actively? People slip, has nothing to do with anybody. The sane thing that made Gerard slip was what made Kante slip, the ball was Kante's ball easily, Martinelli couldn't believe his luck. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 3:48pm On Jan 22, 2020 |
TheSuperNerd: He was chased by a player though. And ofcos it is NOT a goal of the season contender-kinda goal but to be fair, he is 18 and having the composure and technique to keep the ball at close control for that run-up to the goal in a high tension top class London derby shows the kid's got heart and the mentality for the top. Martinelli scoring the way he did in that world class atmosphere is a big deal. I don't think Ikedia ever scored such at 18.
Note: No be yesterday, I start to dey watch Martinelli. So it was not just about one great game. The lad is truly quality. Musa once scored such a goal, granted it wasn't really Arsenal vs Chelsea but I think it was Kano Pillars vs Enyimba or so, same tension really. Anyways I didn't say he isn't top quality, I just narrowed it down to the goal yesterday because somehow, Arsenal fans seem to think that his goal was better than Son's goal against Burnley |

TheSuperNerd: Osimhen giving Mendes serious warning..... Na wa... See elbow.
Meanwhile, I saw the Martinelli goal. This is part of why I rate that lad. Why I mentioned him alongside Osimhen, Haaland (actually Håland), Greenwood and Werner among a few quality others as the next super no.9s this decade is gonna enjoy. Personally I think that goal was down to Kante's mistake rather than any form of brilliance. He effectively just ran 70 yards unopposed and tucked the ball home, nothing we haven't seen Musa and even Ikedia doing |

kendrick93: how many goals has osimhem scored.....his purple patch is over... Hakim is playing for a top club in Dortmund and putting in motm preferences in the CL so what are you saying? Osimhem wasn't even a regular at the Afcon while Hakimi has a first team spot in the morrocan NT The French ligue has been on break dude. Should he score at home? He possibly has done that but we wouldn't know yet. How has Hakimi been putting in MOTM performances in the champions league? The only reason Dortmund still are in the UCL is because of Sancho, I watched their two legs against Inter and against Barcelona and dude wasn't really a prime Marcelo, not by any stretch of the imagination, he is good but definitely not this world beater y'all are talking about else he would be a starter in Madrid and not Dortmund |

andrewbaba44: Regullion thats not a regular kicked him out of mardid? Lol
You are even more funny than others trying to prove a point
How does kicking hakimi out of madrid makes him not deserve to win the award?
So osimhen deserve it playing for chaleroi and half season at lille?
Lol
Try and think before you talk next time
We are saying who deserve to win an award and you are here telling us of who kicked hakimi out of madrid
I am sure if you have a full back with goals and 6 assist in the bundesliga you wont say such
You guys are just blinded by sentiment Hakimi was the second choice, when Regullion came through, he first kicked him out as second choice then displaced Marcelo before Zidane came back and replaced him at which point he moved to Sevilla, if it comes to the La Liga, you have absolutely no knowledge there. How is that relevant? If you are not as good as Regullion then I really do not see how you can be the best young player in Africa. This does not in anyway mean that he hasn't been good but winning the best young player? Come on. Oshimen played for Charleroi granted, but does that mean the goalposts were larger in Belgium? Shebi it is the same measurements and he scored there right? And he has been scoring in France too right? Please while you are talking about Oshimen, please do tell us Hakimi's stats from the second part of last season, I am waiting. |
