Foreign AffairsKim Jong-un EXECUTES His Defence Minister By Anti-aircraft Fire - For Dozing Off by mickyeddi(op): 9:30am On May 13, 2015
North Korea’s defence minister has been publicly executed with an anti-aircraft gun for falling asleep during military meetings and answering back to leader Kim Jong-Un, it has been claimed.
Hyon Yong-Chol, 66, who was named head of North Korea's military in 2012, was killed in the capital Pyongyang by the unconventional firing squad on charges of disloyalty and disrespect.
Han Ki-Beom, the deputy director of South Korea's National Intelligence Agency (NIS), told a parliamentary committee that hundreds of officials watched the execution in Pyongyang on April 30.
It is not the first time anti-aircraft guns have been used for public executions in North Korea, with recently released satellite images showing a number of unidentified people being killed using the brutal method last October.

'Pulverized': A ZPU-4 anti-aircraft gunis believed to have been used to brutally execute Hyon Yong-Chol

The intelligence service told politicians that Hyon was killed by an anti-aircraft gun at Kang Kon Military Academy - a method cited in various unconfirmed reports as being reserved for senior officials who the leadership wishes to make examples of.
Hyon was apparently caught dozing off during formal military events and also talked back to Kim Jong-Un on several occasions.

Lawmaker Shin Kyoung-min, who attended the parliamentary briefing during which news of the execution was announced, said the NIS believed it to be true.
The execution was initially reported by South Korea's Yonhap news agency, although reports from North Korea are impossible to independently confirm.

Hyon is believed to have been a general since 2010 and served on the committee for late leader Kim Jong-il's funeral in December 2011, before becoming defence minister.
In North Korea, the defence minister is mainly in charge of logistics and international exchanges.
Policy-making is handled by the powerful National Defence Commission and the party Central Military Commission.
Since taking power upon the death of his dictator father in late 2011, Kim Jong Un has orchestrated a series of purges in apparent efforts to bolster his grip on power.
Analysts are split on whether the bloody power shifts indicate a young leader in firm control, or someone still struggling to establish himself. The most notable purge was in 2013 when he executed his uncle and chief deputy, Jang Song Thaek, for alleged treason.
Last month, spy officials told lawmakers that North Korea executed 15 senior officials accused of challenging his authority.

Science/Technology25 Surprising Things You Might Not Know About Earth’s Oceans by mickyeddi(op): 8:55am On May 11, 2015
Although most of our planet is ocean, we know less about the bottom of the sea than we do about the surface of the moon. Read on to find out 25 Surprising Things You Might Not Know About Earth’s Oceans!

25
Antarctica holds as much water in its ice as the entire Atlantic Ocean

https://cdn4.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/2512-610x360.jpg

24
The top ten feet of the oceans holds the same amount of heat as the entire atmosphere

https://cdn4.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/2412-610x360.jpg

23
In water the speed of sound is 1,435 meters per second. That is almost five times faster than it is in air.

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/2312-610x360.jpg

22
90% of all volcanoes are underwater

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/2213-610x360.jpg

21
As of today roughly 226,408 underwater animal species have been identified

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/2114-610x360.jpg

20
Scientists estimate that there could be up to 25 million marine species living in the oceans

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/2012-610x360.jpg

19
This means we have only discovered less than 1% of all underwater marine life

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1912-610x360.jpg

18
This is mostly because we have only managed to explore about 10% of the oceans area/volume

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1812-610x360.jpg

17
Most of the other 90% consists of something known as the deep sea

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1712-610x360.jpg

16
The deep sea begins at a depth of roughly 1800 meters and more people have actually gone to space than have traveled into these unexplored regions

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1612-610x360.jpg

15
Most of what you imagine the ocean to be is actually just the intertidal zone. This zone is a very small area where the ocean meets the land

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1512-610x360.jpg

14
Once you go much deeper than this sunlight quickly disappears and pressure increases rapidly. Most of the ocean is cold, black, and deep.

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1412-610x360.jpg

13
In fact, we know more about the surface of the moon than we do about the deep sea

https://cdn3.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1313-610x360.jpg

12
Thanks to remote controlled vehicles, scientists have discovered that there is actually a significant amount of life on the ocean floor

https://cdn3.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1214-610x360.jpg

11
In many ways this life could be considered "alien". Because sun light does not reach that deep these creatures must rely on alternative energy sources

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1116-610x360.jpg

10
Two of the primary sources are volcanic activity on the ocean floor and organic material falling down from shallower waters

https://cdn3.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1012-610x360.jpg

9
There are actually organisms on the ocean floor that live in lightless and airless water around volcanic vents that reaches 150 degrees celcius. Under normal atmospheric conditions this water would be boiling!

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/912-610x360.jpg

8
If Mount Everest were submerged in the deepest parts of the Pacific Ocean its summit would be nearly 2 km below the surface!

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/812-610x360.jpg

7
The pressure at the deepest point in the oceans averages about 11,318 tons per square meter.

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/712-610x360.jpg

6
Imagine laying on your back with 50 jumbo jets on your chest. Now you can see why exploring the ocean floor is so difficult.

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/612-610x360.jpg

5
One third of the Earth is covered by the Pacific Ocean

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/512-610x360.jpg

4
The Pacific Ocean contains roughly 25,000 islands. This is more than the number of islands in the rest of the oceans put together

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/412-610x360.jpg

3
Most of these islands are found south of the equator

https://cdn3.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/312-610x360.jpg

2
Earth's longest mountain range is the Mid-Ocean Ridge which cuts across most of the globe via the Arctic, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans. It is longer than the Andes, Himalayas, and Rockies put together. One of the few places that it comes up above the surface is the island of Iceland as you can see here.

The Kirikiri Maximum Secuity Prison and the Ikoyi Prison are already infamous for their congestion. The former, as at February 1, 1990, had a population of 1,645 but only a rated capacity of 956 .

Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison is also infamous for its "degrading" treatment of prisoners , "appalling" living conditions, sub-standard medical care, and a very high death rate.
Crime10 Most Brutal Prisons In The World by mickyeddi(op):
10
Alcatraz, San Francisco, California

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Slide1031.jpg

The Rock’ or ‘Devil’s Island’ is a prison hell that was built in the 1920s and was designed in such a way that escape was improbable. As the inmates lost contact with the outside world, they were subjected to abusive and arrogant guards who imposed complete silence as prisoners were not only disallowed to converse with each other, but to show their emotions as well.

9
Gitarama Central Prison, Rwanda

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Slide931.jpg

Described as hell on earth, all prisoners were doomed to eat, sleep, live, rot, and die squeezed together with four men per square yard in the roofless brick box called the Gitarama Prison. Designed to house 400 people, the population boomed to 7,000 in the mid-1990s in the wake of the Rwandan genocide, and prisoners were left for dead there. Amidst dysentery and despair, prisoners stand cramped together under all weather conditions, choking on the smoke of cooking fires, and suffering from gangrene. They even resorted to eating each other’s flesh out of sheer desperation.

8
Diyarbakır Prison, Turkey

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Slide831.jpg

The world’s most sadistic and forbidding penal institution has been referred to as having the greatest number of human rights violations per prisoner. Known for a great number of instances of physical and mental torture, it also gained notoriety for its unlivable conditions, sexual abuse of inmates, and for incarcerating even children for life. To escape their situations, inmates attempted hunger strikes, committed suicide, and even set themselves on fire.

7
ADX Florence Supermax Prison, Colorado

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Slide731.jpg

This maximum security prison was built in response to the attacks committed against the guards and staff of other prisons in America. Since prisoners are isolated from the staff and they cannot go anywhere, inmates suffer from psychological torture, leading some to commit suicide.

6
El Rodeo, Guatire, Venezuela

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Slide632.jpg

During the presidency of Hugo Chavez, crime rates soared and overcrowded the Venezuelan prisons with 50,000 prisoners, two-thirds of which were still awaiting sentencing. On June 12, 2011, a visitor day at El Rodeo erupted into a bloodbath between rival gangs and resulted in a siege that lasted for an entire month.

5
La Sabaneta, Venezuela

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Slide532.jpg

In one of the most brutal penal facilities in South America, violence is a daily occurrence. Besides being at the mercy of diseases, insufficient food and care, little to no medical services, and underpaid staff, inmates were also left to their own devices as they fashion weapons to kill one another.

4
Bang Kwang Prison, Thailand

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Slide432.jpg

The ‘Bangkok Hilton’ housed the ‘napinya chained’ inmates, many of whom went crazy due to the stress of the first month in detention. The most violent prison in all of Thailand houses many foreign prisoners and handles death row inmates. It is known for being overcrowded, understaffed, and having deplorable living conditions.

3
Tadmor Military Prison, Syria

https://cdn4.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Slide332.jpg

Dubbed by Amnesty International as the most oppressive prison in the world with every aspect of it designed to dehumanize its populace, it became more infamous in June 1980 when President Hafez al-Assad ordered the killings of all prisoners as retaliation for the attempted assassination on his life by the Muslim Brotherhood. The clean-up massacre that lasted for 2 weeks killed some 800 to 2,400 inmates.

2
Carandiru Prison, Brazil

https://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Slide278.jpg

The site of the Carandiru Tragedy in 1992, where riots triggered the mass execution of inmates by the guards, became notorious for having an insanely high body count of 1,300 deaths in the course of its 46 years in history. It was closed down in 2002 due to the campaigns of Amnesty International amidst reports of gross human rights violations that the Brazilian government could not answer for.

1
Camp 22, North Korea

https://cdn2.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Slide1141.jpg

The notorious Hoeryong Concentration Camp, which has gained international attention in 2012 after its warden defected to China, was an isolated prison for political prisoners and has been in operation since 1965. A large compound that holds 50,000 prisoners, it was claimed that three generations of dissident families have been imprisoned there to completely remove the ‘roots.’ In addition, the death camp has subjected inmates to extreme torture and human experimentation where they become lab rats for biological weapons like anthrax, bomb testing, and other brutalities.

Science/TechnologyWhy Hot Water Freezes Faster Than Cold Water by mickyeddi(op): 8:35pm On May 10, 2015
https://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02259/ice_2259923b.jpg

t is a phenomenon that has baffled the world’s brightest minds since the time of Aristotle.
Now a team of physicists believe they may have solved the centuries old mystery of why hot water freezes faster than cold water.
Known as the Mpemba effect, water behaves unlike most other liquids by freezing into a solid more rapidly from a heated state than from room temperature.
Scientists have suggested dozens of theories for why this may occur, but none have been able to satisfactorily explain this strange physical property.
A team of physicists at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have now published what they believe may be the solution.

They claim that the explanation lies in the unusual interaction between the molecules of water.
Each water molecule is bound to its neighbour through a highly charged electromagnetic bond known as a “hydrogen bond”.
It is this that produces surface tension in water and also gives it a higher than expected boiling point compared to other liquids.
However, Dr Sun Changqing and Dr Xi Zhang from Nanyang Technological University, argue this also determines the way water molecules store and release energy.
They argue that the rate at which energy is released varies with the initial state of the water and so calculate that hot water is able to release energy faster when it is placed into a freezer.
Dr Changqing said: “The processes and the rate of energy release from water vary intrinsically with the initial energy state of the sources.”
The Mpemba effect is named after a Tanzanian student called Erasto Mpemba, who observed that hot ice cream mix froze before the cold mix.
Together with a physics professor at University College at Dar es Salaam, he published a paper in 1969 that showed equal volumes of boiling water and cold in similar containers would freeze at different times, with the hot water freezing first.
Similar observations have been described in the past, however, by Aristotle, Francis Bacon and Rene Descartes.
The effect can also have some real world implications, such as whether to use boiling water to defrost the windscreen of your car on a winters day and whether hot water pipes are more prone to freezing than cold ones.
Some people deny that the effect exists at all and is in fact an artefact of experimental procedure, but others claim to have shown it using carefully controlled experiments.
There are a number of theories for might cause this, including that evaporation of hot water means there is less water to freeze.
Another theory suggests that dissolved gasses in the water are released in hot water and so make it more viscous.
Last year the Royal Society of Chemistry offered a £1,000 prize to anyone who could explain how the Mpemba effect worked.
Nikola Bregovic, a chemistry research assistant at the University of Zagreb, was announced as the winner for the prize earlier this year.
He conducted experiments using beakers of water in his laboratory and his resulting paper suggested that the effect of convection was probably responsible.
He said that convection currents set up in the warm water cause it to cool more rapidly.
However, Dr Changqing and Dr Zhang have attempted to explain the effect further by examining the process at a molecular level.
Last week they published a paper in the journal Scientific Reports showing how water molecules arrange themselves when forming ice
They also published a paper on arXiv Chemical Physics that explained the Mpemba effect.
They say the interaction between the hydrogen bonds and the stronger bonds that hold the hydrogen and oxygen atoms in each molecule together, known as covalent bonds, is what causes the effect.
Normally when a liquid is heated, the covalent bonds between atoms stretch and store energy.
The scientists argue that in water, the hydrogen bonds produce an unusual effect that causes the covalent bonds to shorten and store energy when heated.
This they say leads to the bonds to release their energy in an exponential way compared to the initial amount stored when they are cooled in a freezer.
So hot water will lose more energy faster than cool water.
Dr Changqing said: “Heating stores energy by shortening and stiffening the H-O covalent bond.
“Cooling in a refrigerator, the H-O bond releases its energy at a rate that depends exponentially on the initially stored energy, and therefore, Mpemba effect happens.”
The Royal Society of Chemistry received more than 22,000 responses to its call for a solution to the Mpemba effect and it is still receiving theories despite the competition closing a year ago.
Mr Bregovic, who was judged to have developed the best solution by a panel of experts a conference at Imperial College London last year, said: “This small simple molecule amazes and intrigues us with its magic.”
Aeneas Wiener, from Imperial College who helped to judge the competition, added: "The new paper demonstrates that even though a phenomenon seems simple, delving deeper reveals even more complexity - and that is certainly worth looking at.
"We hope it'll inspire young people to pursue scientific studies."
Dr Denis Osborne, a lecturer at University College in Dar es Salaam who published the paper with Mr Mpemba on the effect they had observed, said: "Several different mechanisms may cause or contribute to an Mpemba effect.
"What the authors describe as a property of H-O bonding may be one of these."

CultureThe White Slaves Of Barbary(north Africa) by mickyeddi(op): 8:23pm On May 10, 2015

Much attention and condemnation has been directed towards the tragedy of the African slave trade, which took place between the 16th and the 19th centuries. However, another equally despicable trade in humans was taking place around the same time in the Mediterranean.

It is estimated that up to 1.25 million Europeans were enslaved by the so-called Barbary corsairs, and their lives were just as pitiful as their African counterparts. They have come to be known as the white slaves of Barbary.

Slavery is one of the oldest trades known to man. We can first find records of the slave trade dating back to The Code of Hammurabi in Babylon in the 18th century BCE. People from virtually every major culture, civilization, and religious background have made slaves of their own and enslaved other peoples.

However, comparatively little attention has been given to the prolific slave trade that was carried out by pirates, or corsairs, along the Barbary coast (as it was called by Europeans at the time), in what is now Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya, beginning around 1600 AD.

Anyone traveling in the Mediterranean at the time faced the real prospect of being captured by the Corsairs and taken to Barbary Coast cities and being sold as slaves.

However, not content with attacking ships and sailors, the corsairs also sometimes raided coastal settlements in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, England, Ireland, and even as far away as the Netherlands and Iceland.

They landed on unguarded beaches, and crept up on villages in the dark to capture their victims. Almost all the inhabitants of the village of Baltimore, in Ireland, were taken in this way in 1631. As a result of this threat, numerous coastal towns in the Mediterranean were almost completely abandoned by their inhabitants until the 19th century.

Life as a Barbary Slave

The slaves captured by the Barbary pirates faced a grim future. Many died on the ships during the long voyage back to North Africa due to disease or lack of food and water. Those who survived were taken to slave markets where they would stand for hours while buyers inspected them before they were sold at auction.

After purchase, slaves would be put to work in various ways. Men were usually assigned to hard manual labour, such as working in quarries or heavy construction, while women were used for housework or in sexual servitude.

At night the slaves were put into prisons called 'bagnios' that were often hot and overcrowded. However, by far the worst fate for a Barbary slave was being assigned to man the oars of galleys. Rowers were shackled where they sat, and never allowed to leave.

Sleeping, eating, defecation and urination took place at the seat. Overseers would crack the whip over the bare backs of any slaves considered not to be working hard enough.

I am a full blooded South African, born and bread in Soweto. I have never been to Nigeria and my impression of your Country is formed by the behaviour and actions of the many Nigerians who live in SA and what we hear and read from the media about the goings on in your country.
I deliberately joined Nairaland today as I noted that alot of you are on this Forum hence its a good platform to pass my message. Suffice it to say that i will delete this account after this message. I will read your responses with keen interest.

1. There is no question that there was xenophobic attack on Foreigners in SA in the past 3weeks. What is in doubt is the scale of the attack. I have noted that Nigerians have overtly blown the crises out of proportion by spreading lies and wrong informatiom concerning the crisis. The idea that South Africans are going round SA cities killing, maiming and burning Foreigners is a lie. Only 7 people have been killed so far and of these 7, 3 are south Africans, 2 Ethiopians and 2 Mozambican. The world media is in agreement with these figures. While its 7 lives too many that doesnt give credence to the news going round in Nigeria that we are killing and burning Foreigners. If thats true then there would be more people dead.
STOP BELIEVING WHATYOU READ AND WATCH ON social media as most are lies and fabricated figments of the imaginations of mischievous Nigerians in other to stoke the flame of discord between Nigeria and SA.

2. Why are Nigerians up in arms against SA with xenophobia when the war in Nigeria is far worse than here in SA. Boko haram is killing thousands your people everyday and theres no end in sight meanwhile no Nigerian has been killed in this Xenophobic attack. That is why Nigerians throng our embassies in Lagos and Abuja seeking Visas to come to SA and escape the despicable living conditions in the slums of Nigeria.

3. This recent Xenophobic attack was predicated on the fact that Foreigners commit so much heinous crimes in SA without impunity and we are tired of all these. We have our own criminals here so we cant add more problems from foreigners.
A. NIigerians are the kingpins of drugs killing our children and society. Your brothers drug our girls into prostitution. They con our people with fraud and 419. They hack into our bank accounts stealing millions.

B. Zimbabweans are involved in robberies and car hijackings

C. Mozambicans kill our farmers and take our jobs for peanuts leaving many South Africans jobless

D. Ethiopians and Somalians open shops to do illegal activities and pollute our communities. Theres a Somalian shop in every 2 houses on every street in SA. No Country can allow that.

SA has its own issues but we would like to solve them without the added problems of Foreign crimials.

If you like burn down shoprite and close MTN its your people that will suffer because these companies employ millions of Nigerians. They will simply go jobless.

Thank you
Would you like it if citizens from your own country are being victimized and harassed in other nations?
There are lots of jobless south africans here in Sweden illegally and claiming social welfare, we don't set up on them and set them on fire like your lots because we are civilized people and not barbaric animals. You stated the foreigners are comitting crimes in your country, the last time I checked South Africa has one of the highest crime rates in the world with one of the highest murder rates in the world. Is it the foreigners that are comitting these crimes or your lazy people?? Is it not ironic that the white south africans that were accused of the apartheid are now the ones leading the move against Xenophobia in your country. You black south africans should be ashamed of yourselves and you are a disgrace to the black race.
Politics5 Conspiracy Theories That Turned Out To Be True by mickyeddi(op): 8:27am On Apr 24, 2015
There are types of stories called “conspiracy theories” and the people who teach them are considered by “society” as crazy fanatics who often need medical treatment.

What if I tell you that “society” should take some of that medical treatment, because sometimes such incredible stories that nobody believed in, turn out to be 100% true?

1. Tuskegee syphilis experiment

In the years 1932-1972, there were a series of experiments on about 400 syphilis-infected black citizens of the United States. The study selected the poor, simple and uneducated – most of them did not even know about their illness.

U.S. Public Health Service had promised free treatment to patients. In fact, they were given aspirin. The purpose of this “experiment” was to observe a progressive disease in representatives of the black race, and the scientific autopsy of deceased participants in these studies.

As a result, 28 people died directly of syphilis, 100 died as a result of complications directly related to the disease, 40 women were infected by unconscious patients, and 19 children were born with congenital disease.

The sad truth about the Tuskegee Experiment was confirmed in 1997 by President Bill Clinton, who officially and publicly apologized to the eight surviving participants in these studies.

What if I tell you that the U.S. government itself commits “acts of terror” on its land, just to have an excuse to invade another country?

2. Operation Northwoods

In 1997, as a result of the murder of J.F. Kennedy, fifteen hundred pages of documents entitled “Operation Northwoods” were declassified. In the 60s, the United States was preparing for war with Cuba. To fire up the war machine public support was needed.

In turn the defense secretary presented a paper called “Justification for U.S. Military Intervention in Cuba” so they had a whole range of interesting provocations, such as terrorist attacks involving the blowing up military bases, starting fires, aircraft hijacking, “landing” of Cuban troops, bombings, and even the sinking of a boat full of armed Cubans.

These false flag terrorist attacks were to be carried out by the CIA on a massive scale so that the citizens of the United States would feel threatened by Fidel Castro and the government had an excuse to start a war.

The plan was never implemented however, as president Kennedy met with the General Lyman Lemnitzer the plan for the operation was rejected. This time it did not work …

What if I tell you that it is just about oil?

3. Nayirah Testimony

In August 1990 there was conflict between Iraq and Kuwait, mostly over oil fields as Saddam Hussein accused Kuwaitis of theft of these resources. On October 10th the whole world turned its eyes toward a fifteen-year old girl named Nayirah, who wept profusely as she talked about inhumane crimes committed by Iraqi soldiers.

The young Kuwaiti was to witness the killing of more than 300 babies in a hospital. The dramatic speech touched the hearts of viewers and managed to drum up overwhelming support for the involvement of the United States in this conflict and the outbreak of the Gulf War.

When the battle dust settled, someone took a closer look at Nayirah. Quickly it became apparent that the sobbing girl in front of millions of viewers was the daughter of Sheikh Saud Nasser Al-Saud Al-Sabah– Kuwaiti Ambassador to the United States and a member of the royal family.

The child was handed to PR whizzes – Hill & Knowlton company, where she passed a course in comprehensive acting training. It had to work out – the company bosses signed an $11.9 million contract with the Kuwaiti royal family.

The task was simple — to persuade the U.S. military to take action against Iraq. Nayirah lied. This time it worked…

What if I tell you that the leading Nazi scientists got a job in the USA after the war?

4. Operation Paperclip

World War II was coming to an end and nothing more could change the situation of the Third Reich.

American special forces had acknowledged that it would be a pity if some people lost their lives, especially those whose knowledge and experience could potentially serve the interests of the United States.

As part of Operation Paperclip, they smuggled into the U.S. a group of gifted scientists from the Nazi rocket industry, medicine and chemical weapons divisions.

In the safe arms of Uncle Sam there were, among others, Wernher Von Braun (SS-man, the creator of the famous missile V-2), Kurt Blome (a doctor specializing in biological weapons, which tested their inventions on prisoners in Auschwitz) and Hubertus Strughold (“father of space medicine” who examined the effect of extremely low temperatures on the human body in camp Dachau).

In total, 700 German “men of science”, found their new home on American soil.

What if I tell you that the government controls your mind?

5. MK-Ultra

It turns out that playing with people’s minds was actually done by the CIA a good half a century ago!

In the 60s, thanks to the NY Times reporters, details of the MK-Ultra project came to light, which was aimed to investigate the human ability to be controlled by the use of certain chemicals, subliminal messages, electrical impulses and psychoactive substances.

The project itself consisted of a number of sub-projects. For example, MK-Search was designed to create the perfect truth serum that could be used on captured Russian spies.

They also looked into research on the practical use of LSD. Experiments were conducted on prostitutes, prisoners and people with mental illness.

Often times without their knowledge or consent. One such experiment was to give the drug to seven volunteers continuously for 77 days… Among the substances, with which the CIA dealt was also amphetamines, psilocybin and mescaline.

They also experimented with hypnotic seances. When information about MK-Ultra was released to the public, a number of committees of inquiry were established and this research was formally and publicly condemned.

It is often said that the infamous project was one of the factors which resulted in the generation of the hippie movement. Ken Kesey – author of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, as a volunteer, was participating in one of the experiments, prepared by the CIA.

The effect of LSD on the human mind intrigued the writer so much, that he became one of the first proponents of the use of psychedelic drugs in the context of recreation. Another member of psychedelic experimentation was Robert Hunter of the Grateful Dead…

We know that these theories turned out to be true. And how many more are waiting to be revealed? There are some people who do a lot to hide the truth.

RomanceAngry Woman Drowns Cheating Boyfriend's Apple Gadgets In Bath by mickyeddi(op): 7:54am On Apr 24, 2015

One unlucky boyfriend is probably regretting cheating on his girlfriend right about now — especially after she took every single one of his expensive Apple products and dumped them in a bathtub full of water.

According to the Mirror, a Twitter user who goes by the name @foolishnessfly2 realized her boyfriend had been secretly seeing another woman behind her back. Instead of confronting him about it, @foolishnessfly2 decided to get revenge in a way that would make most technophiles cringe.

She shared a photo on her Twitter page of the carnage. An iMac, an iPad, several iPhones, two MacBooks, and more, all drowned in soapy bath water. The Apple products would have added up to several thousand dollars in total, being some of the most high-end tech products available on the market. And the photo makes it very clear that there’s no chance that a single one of the Apple products survived the bath of vengeance.

According to Complex, breaking her boyfriend’s Apple products wasn’t enough for @foolishnessfly2. She also decided to publicly shame her cheating partner. The jilted Japanese girlfriend shared the photos of the ruined Apple products all over social media, and is getting lots of positive feedback for it. Her post has been retweeted more than 16,000 times and favorited 10,000 times.

To add insult to injury, she then took pictures of the submerged technology and tweeted them for all to see.

The humiliating post has been retweeted more than 15,000 times.

As we all know, water + electronics = a rather painful and expensive death.

It might be possible to resurrect some of them with the bag-of-rice trick, but if we were @follishnessfly2's boyfriend, we wouldn't hold our breath.

Botha was right, south africans are lazy HIV ridden animals. They blame migrants for coming to their country to make opportunity for themselves while the locals can't be bothered about working hard and only drink and spread hiv with their little willy.

PoliticsRe: Meet The South African King Whose Remarks Launched The Xenophobic Attacks by mickyeddi: 12:21pm On Apr 20, 2015
Betterment:
Zulu King Godwill Zwelithi’s utterances on March 23rd launched the Zenophobic attacks in South Africa and he had refused to apologize, even after finding out that his people have maimed, killed and destroyed businesses belonging to black foreigners. He’s still insisting that foreigners should go back to their countries but tried to save face by saying attacking the foreigners is not how to chase them away. He wants the government to do it legally.

During a speech last month, Zwelithini called for the deportation of foreign nationals living in the country, saying it was unacceptable locals were being made to compete with people from other countries for the few economic opportunities they had available. King Zwelithi said “foreigners must pack their bags and go home”.

His three major complaints and why he wanted foreigners to go were; 1. SA traders in the townships said they could not compete with the prices that foreign-owned businesses were selling their products. 2; foreigners involved in crime. 3. Lack of respect shown by foreigners to locals.

Addressing Pongolo community members during a moral regeneration event, Zwelithini accused government of failing to protect locals from the “influx of foreign nationals”. He said;

“Most government leaders do not want to speak out on this matter because they are scared of losing votes. As the king of the Zulu nation, I cannot tolerate a situation where we are being led by leaders with no views whatsoever.

“We are requesting those who come from outside to please go back to their countries. The fact that there were countries that played a role in the country’s struggle for liberation should not be used as an excuse to create a situation where foreigners are allowed to inconvenience locals. I know you were in their countries during the struggle for liberation. But the fact of the matter is you did not set up businesses in their countries.”

His comments were widely condemned with the SA DA describing it “highly irresponsible’ ‘Particularly given the recent spate of xenophobic attacks in South Africa, he should do the right thing – retract and apologise,”

He didn’t and his spokesman went on record to say the King had nothing to apologize for, that he meant every word he said.

“I think the people who’re complaining are misinterpreting his speech. He didn’t say foreigners must be attacked or harassed. The king was talking about foreigners who are here illegally. Some are involved in serious crimes like drug and human trafficking. We don’t need such people in our country so the king is right.” His spokesman said

After the killing spread across different cities, the king has relented a little and is planning to speak to his people this Monday in an effort to quell the attacks. He’s expected to address the public directly and clarify his statement and ask his people to stop the violence which his words started…

Meanwhile, in a recent interview, she revealed that she hates when fans compare her to foreign celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Beyonce.

She said

You see, some fans are ridiculous. If you wear a dress or something that any of these foreign celebs wear, you begin to hear comments from fans that refer to ours (what we Nigerian celebs wear) as ‘fake’, some even go as far as calling us copycat. We should not be called Copycats because it’s not as if the foreign celebs invented all the designs, they must have gotten them from somewhere too.
It appalls me how we get disrespected instead of encouragement from fans, so whenever they come to my page to vent, I direct them where to channel that to.

I won’t allow any one stress me or give me negative feedback on an innocent motive. I like Beyonce and Kim but I don’t copy them, people should please respect my hustle too.

talentarena:
NEWS NUGGET - Man who shot South African Lucky Dube says he thought he was a Nigerian.

About an hour after they pumped two bullets into Lucky Dube, the alleged killers returned to where the reggae superstar lay dead to see if any of the bystanders recognised them.

This was the chilling evidence of a state witness, who also revealed on Tuesday that the two men on trial for the murder didn't recognise him and thought he was a Nigerian.

Question- So if Lucky Dube was a Nigerian living in South Africa he deserves to die?

Do you feel our Government have opened up Nigerian market to foreign investors with no protection of Nigerians in same business who can't compete?

Are South African business policies as liberal as ours or more protective of their own?

DSTV went ahead to increase their rates regardless of court judgement. Can they do this in South Africa?

I'm not an economist but should these companies be compelled to retain a certain amount of their profit in Nigeria unlike what we have now where every kobo of their profit is taken back to develop their country from the sweat of Nigerians. We can only speculate how much of Nigeria's money was used in sponsoring the world cup in South Africa.

They come with give employment to a few Nigerian, rip us off with profit and take the money out to develop their country. This has to CHANGE.

While Nigeria has opened up her market the South Africans are killing her citizens in return.

God bless Nigeria.
