Your head must be leaking to think that you made any constructive argument there, wetin concern me with nicki minaj and all them yeye celebrities u're naming? are you a celebrity? what bleep sake, some Nigerian girls need their head checked, why should you always want to compare yourself with celebs and not average people out there? celebs mostly help these fake products producers advertise their wears brainwashing airheaded women (mostly Africans) into thinking they can't be complete without these fake armors, CAN'T YOU USE YOUR BRAINCELLS? you are really annoying people with a working brain.

Dang!  Are you nikick or wetin u call am? why trying to be her or dress like her when you aren't her?

Una be complete wannables.

FYI: I don't have to prove to you that i have got a girl, very beautiful, i knew her when she was VERY young (when she was all natural) but now that she's growing up, she thinks joining other brainwashed girls in wearing fake shits is the big deal.

Inferiority complex is the only thing that makes you want to always look like others and not yourself!

@micro, please does it mean i can have all these four sats on one decoder using a diseqc? so i will make a 2 in 1 setup on the 65cm and anther w in 1 setup on the 90 also?
Yes for the 65cm, for the 90cm you can use a single LNB but it is not easy to track. Alternatively you can use a 2-in-1 setup also, using four ports on your diseqc switch.

Hope you have a backup for Nairaland owner? Anybody remember Sat-mac.net, what happened. The European forums your are quoting their providers don't corner every English language content on sat into their bouquet, Even if the channel doesn't have premium programs (including local channels - recently the Kenyans have been complaining bitterly) and if you like accept take it or leave it, most of them are not cannot compare with the financial might or connection with a our No.1 African PayTV provider.

Somebody sent a protest mail to France24 that it is being funded by the French Government all over the world and the policy is that it should be FTA all over, before they started airing their programs (France24 - English & French) on Sirius 4. The Chinese put pressure on the provider before the three CCTV channels became FTA.

All National TVs are transmitted FTA in other climes except the English speaking countries of Africa. PayTV providers are supposed to provide premium content and add local channels probably to meet local content policy(ies) in their countries of operation and or also as an added benefit for their subscribers to use a single means of reception. The Pay TVs in turn support the local media by paying them a small token and also ensuring all adverts by the local TV operators are not edited or blocked. But what we have here is a situation where a certain provider corners all (especially English language content) and force them to use C-Band (using different satellites) for their relay transmissions if they want to remain on sat making it unattractive.

Even ETV knew their channel was hacked and never bothered to change encryption or keys, because they depended solely on sales of their boxes in SA and adverts. Someone somewhere forced them to encrypt, same applies to Muvi TV, SABCs.

my two cents.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Strong Receivers Thread by microgint: 9:50am On Jan 15, 2011
To change Video Format for individual channels on Strong 4669X on 111p software.

press page down while on the channel until you get the desired format.

Eg. France 24 Eng on Sirius 4 is transmitted in Widescreen format, which truncates the Picture at the right and left edges. Changing to letterbox 4:3 format, the resulting video has blackbars top and bottom.

Note: Changing through the menu affects all channels.

@ all
I just updated the receiver now and the switch off and on  problem is gone it even change the my tv logo to strong. But the problem am having right now is dat the receiver can not read smart card again. It cannot read the multi choice card i use on it again. I downloaded an SRT 4653X.stb and SRTLoader_software_uploaders_middle east & africa.exe from strong site and save it on my phone memory and upgrade thru the usb on the front panel. When i checked the system information. Model: SRT 4651X. S/w version: 1.19 (jul 22 2010). H/w version: 1.10. Boot version: 1.10(ob:24). Ch version: aug 24 2009. Please note the receiver is an srt 4653x. All the free to air stations are showing very well except for RDV which cannot accept 6969 6969 and 8280 again. Plz i need an urgent answer so as to rectify this problem.
If your STB is still working now then it is an original SRT4653X, but you just reverted to the original manufacturer software. What i meant was to download the loader from strong website, not firmware.  The firmware from strong site will not allow you to use any other card except "CONAX CARD" DSTV is using "IRDETO CARD", but the patched ones enable you to use all cards except "NDS Videoguard". Also you can not input codes into you receiver anymore.

Solution: Look for the latest patch and update it (note: Not from strong website)

MTN are thieves!! they have been connected on a fiber optic cable for sometime now, namely main one, and yet they still charge highly for their internet services, South african companies always exploit Nigerians all in the name of making a profit, I know with glo one having been connected mtn are now bringing out so many so called internet packages all to divert our attention from the fact that they habve been screwing Nigerians over, these south africans are pigs!!! Glo is going to virtually put MTN out of business u wait and see, Glo will crash internet service prices, because that is all that MTN have going for them now, And i like the entrance of AIRtel into the gsm market in our country it breathes for healthy competition
True, they even do bonanza in South Africa after making all the cash in Nigeria. MTN, DSTV, etc.
BusinessRe: Zain Nigeria Finally Dissolves Into Bharti Airtel For $9 Billion by microgint: 4:50pm On Nov 20, 2010
xreal:
that's India,  use of internet is almost free in India.
It can't be dat cheap in naija, not yet.
I had a chat with the Indian after I read the news online, that an Indian company has bought over Zain. He said it is a welcome development for Nigeria, that initially they wanted to buy MTN but the price valuation was too high plus they (Airtel) wanted a reduction in tariff charge which MTN refused. So since it was against their business model they backed out of the deal.

Mai Suya:
Most of the multinational gsm companies usually have lower rates in the other countries they operate, compared to Nigeria. The increase, they claim, is due to the dearth of infrastructural facilities--in particular electricity--in Nigeria, thereby leading to a marked increase in their operating cost which they then transfer to consumers.

MTN, for instance, at one time claimed they spend about $5.5millon (abt N600mill) monthly on generators, far higher than in any other country they operate.
Friend, MTN has been hiding under that excuse to milk Nigerians. If you remember before GLO came on board they claimed that it was impossible to bill per/second until GLO proved it was a lie. Now Etisalat has started 25kobo/second billing while others with more subscriber base on net are charging 50-80kobo/second.

He said when they started in India just like Nigeria the charges were high, but as more subscribers joined the network the price started crashing as the cost was being spread among the subscribers and more providers started operations.

Do you know that MTN makes it's highest profit in Naija?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Wahala Dey, Even Star Times Don Get Accident 7500 Naira Plus Free One Month Sub by microgint: 11:58am On Nov 20, 2010
Trust Nigerians to always capitalize and milk their people. In South Africa where DTT was introduced first, citizens are not charged to watch the local channels same in Kenya, Ghana, Britain, USA. But once Nigeria introduced it what happens? The National TV Network deftly partnered with a paytv and include the crap national TV in their package (which is supposed to be FTA). In USA most people are chucking their satellite/cable decoders for the DTT Services as most entertaining programs can be watched, except premium services like Sports, Adult PPV.

BBC spearheaded the Freeview in UK on which most of the UK citizens/residents what movies, documentaries, music, kids, sports, etc. Some channels even show live champions league, Europa Cup, Qualifiers/International friendlies, etc.
but in Nigeria the reverse is the case, always looking for opportunity to make cash which can not be accounted for.

Lov4sat:
does this require the 6969 thing to enable you see the pictures and audio?
at this stage and you giving advice/instructions to others i assumed you would have known what "beam" is. Well what it implies is that the satellite signals are transmitted in a particular direction, so even if it's above you, it is not possible to receive the signal. People in South Africa cannot receive MultiTV signal because it is a nigerian beam, in theory from nigeria your dish can see satellite between 37W - 80E but not all signals are beamed to your area, W3A has many beams but what you are receiving is the beam meant for africa, same with sirius4, Astra, Pas7/10, etc some  don't even have beams for africa.  beam not meant for your area that you receive are out of footprint beams, which require a bigger dish to receive e.g people in nigeria receiving nilesat, badr4/6, hotbird, etc.

Good evening all,

Segzkykay idea does work mainly on satellite pc cards link Skysat 2 plus others.
The satellite card comes in as a down link as a modem would be required for uplink for internet access. This basically helps one if you do alot of downloads of movies, Music, software where the download speeds are very first.
microgi@nt:
4llerbuntu

There is no way you can browse using your decoder without a modem.  The only way  is if your decoder has an inbuilt modem. Plus you still need a telephone line.  It's equivalent to the one way internet service being offered by some providers. Uplink is via a telephone line, etc which you pay for, the down-link is via satellite using normal dish and lnb.  This makes downloads faster and cheaper. since dial up is way too slow.  Alternative is FISHING (and you don't have control except to filter undesirables)
As posted earlier it's called one way internet and there is no way you can use it free. most of the downloads gotten from fishing is attributable to this.

Kungu:
The other option is where you use the card to download movies, music using a software called sky grabber which basically downloads what data is being streamed for a particular provider. With the sky grabber software you do not need any uplink modem.
The only main downside of Sky grabber software is that most of the data you download is indecency.
microgi@nt:

Alternative is FISHING (and you don't have control except to filter undesirables)
It called FISHING in ICT cirles and has been treated a long time ago on this thread  Offline Downloading https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-420998.0.html

Kungu:
The are receivers in market which have the option of wifi connection, with this you can cardshare and for the wizkids you hack wifi internet access using some software on your receiver.
As of now the world i shifting to internet so brace yourselves for the new frontier.
I have tried this option but it's not working now where i reside as there are very few wifi access points in Nigeria. It's common in  Lagos and Abuja mostly owned by multinational companies-offices/residences and hotels.  Other areas no wifi networks and nigerians are using ftb now so no need to bother with the wifi. There are softwares that can hack wifi WEP Keys, recently i got a mail introducing a device that can connect to wifi and hack access password without you bothering with any software, just connect to your pc/laptop and enjoy - wifirobin. it sells for about $100

you can also use a cantenna to boost signal
for a start you can google wifirobin and cantenna.  you can equally use a wireless lan connection - usb or pci
