for Opticum purchased from this site; http://www.hm-sat-shop.de/en/hdd-receiver-hdtv-opticum/ Shipping 30Euros The Opticum HD TS 9600 has no blindscan 402P no RJ45 port for internet connection Note: Price displayed on website is inclusive of 19% vat, purchase is done outside the EU, no VAT. Example if purchase price is 119Euros order from outside EU Zone pays 100Euros only. for the Strong HDs I don't know the actual price but should be around N40K+ |
Go for Strong 4900/4910 it is readily available and very good for FTA. 4900 - satellite tuner only 4910 - satellite and terrestrial tuner (i.e. If you have this STB and startimes allow their cards to be used with another STB apart from their own then you make use of only one box instead of one for satellite and another for terrestrial) |
TV Zimbo was temporary FTA on W4/7 If your need TV Zimbo then you have to turn your dish to W3A Freq 12728 V 30000 |
Ilish:There shouldn't be much argument, actually those channels are feeds, remember etv said they wanted to be content providers. I suspect the feeds are actually on Galaxy 11, which is not listed on any of the satellite websites like lyngsat, flysat, etc. It is used as a backup satellite for Intel 802 and Galaxy 11 orbits at 32.8°E http://www.lyngsat.com/galaxy11.html http://www.lyngsat.com/tracker/galaxy11.html no channels are listed because officially it's not transmitting. Rextab:Check the down transponders 25, 27, & 30 on this link http://www.adec.edu/satdb/gal11ku.html It corresponds to what Rextab posted with a little deviation of 4 on the two H pols. Most of the operational sat feed frequencies are well know. and it's closer to W4/7 @ 36°E. Although candyman Candymann:although Candymann posted a different frequency, which adds to the puzzle Little write-up about galaxy 11 Galaxy 11 is an American geostationary communications satellite which is operated by Intelsat. It is located in geostationary orbit at a longitude of 32.8 degrees east, where is serves as a backup to the Intelsat 802 spacecraft. It was originally operated at 99° West and later spent most of its operational life at 91° West, from where it was used to provide communications services to Brazil and North America Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaxy_11 actually it was launched before a design flaw was discovered. please follow link to read full text. |
Oga Olofofo, I just wanted HD combo stb that can do cardsharing at the same time. |
ikeduru:AIT has been on that bird for ages, but if all their DTH channels are available on the bird, i believe they want to go the startimes mode. It will even be better and faster for them to deploy since they have mast in almost all states of the federation. In this modern times you hardly see a DTH operator on C-Band. What happens is most of the cable operators, and now DTT operators have their feeds on C-Band as it's cheaper. for example, startimes is using W2A global beam which covers the whole of africa, so the channels can be received by their base station anywhere in africa/asia/south america |
Some of the Infinity Channels are broadcast on DVB-S2, MPEG4, so i believe their decoder should be MPEG4 and possibly HD My opinion is the few presently being broadcast in DVB-S is for promotional purposes, soon all will be in DVB-S2 |
alancruise:Yes, btut it is still FTA. It's only Nigerian channels that are not FTA on Ku. Examples of stations on DSTV and still FTA on KU to originating countries GTV - Ghana TPA1 - Angola TPA 2 - Angola TV Zimbo - Angola NTV Uganda - Uganda STV1 - Cameron Kenyan Mux on W7 11731V8751 NTV Kenya -Kenya KBC1 - Kenya K24 - Kenya Record Internacional - Can't remember the country but African also on W3A SABC is not on DSTV platform but it's on other PayTVs still FTA to South Africa |

@George D Thanks received the notification on 04-08-2010, am thinking of going for the fiber. @ Jossybless Congrats and glory be to God. |
martinlala:This is a pipe dream for matches which HiTV have rights to, for world cup, don't know may be. HiTV asked cable tv operators to pay N3,500/sub, that is per/month not yearly. I don't think Star TV with their subscription charge of N1K/Month can where cable operators who were charging N3,500 and above could not. |
enitan2002:boss take am small small oh! You know there is nothing much interesting to post on again but i'm back. |
George_D:Yes boss, but I still have plans for a motorized 2.4m, the fibre will be fixed. would have made the purchase if i new this earlier for badr4/6 reception. |
chris7272:Daarsat decoder can be used for FTA only problems is u can't use another card on the decoder same as multichoice decoder |
George_D:George u never told me you had this for sale. |
