leopower: Use an inline amplifier close to the lnb. If you are residing in lagos it should be available at Alaba. |

Skew your lnb between 5 & 6 O'clock position. The Bird like TJ mentioned it the easiest but I also had the same problem until i changed the skew. |

thuao: Yours is not similar problem. The solution to your problem is, use dual output LNB. That is LNB with two ports for cable, connect one end to the dstv and the other to Strong/MultiTV |

This is the signal finder i want to purchase. In fact it is a mini receiver not a true dedicated signal finder. Spec says it can last 4hr+ on a single full charge.

Politics / Re: New Electricity Tariffs To Take Effect January, 2012 by microgint: 8:29am On Jun 02, 2011 |
PHCN should just introduce the prepaid meters, and people will gladly pay to use what they can afford. Same scenario applied in Nitel where people were sent bills of N100,000 and above monthly for less usage and yet the company couldn't stay afloat as a monopoly. Getting a NITEL Landline was big wahala, after payment of not less than N250,000. But see the GSM companies raking in Billions from the same business. Nitel was given a free license which other companies paid for, had infrastructure all over the country yet couldn't compete with them. The PHCN workers use estimated billing system, so even if you don't have power for 6-months you continue receiving bills and all those are counted among the non-bill paying group. The PHCN workers give these bills officially which implies it is on their database. Then a worker will offer to wipe off the amount after you give him say 10-30% of the billed amount. after receiving the cash he just prints out a new bill with less amount but the original amount is still in the database which can't be changed. |

Politics / Re: What Did Goodluck Actually Do In Bayelsa State? by microgint: 4:50pm On May 18, 2011 |
The problem with Nigerians is that many people shy away from the truth. How many deputy governors/vice presidents have achieved anything in Nigeria? The way Nigerian politics/governance operates is that the vice president/deputy governors are there just for formality to fulfill all righteousness. Goodluck was governor of Bayelsa state for less than two years. What he did was just to continue the with the projects/policies of Alams considering the short time he had before the next elections. Most deputy governors who tried to be relevant in the scheme of things or were against some policies were removed from office through one means or the other. Presently, the whole country has been hearing of what Fashola is doing in Lagos State. I bet you, apart from those indigenous or resident in Lagos State, less than 10% of others know the name of the Lagos State deputy governor. |

I think that should mean 28 years, while in Nigeria grandfathers who don't have any need for future technology will head such projects. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Germatic Decoder by microgint: 4:19pm On May 17, 2011 |
hope it is not like the ones some smart guys used to rip peeps in my area. no card reader/key code, MPEG2 decoder for =N=9k. while strong 4663x with card reader and keys menu is being sold for less. I advised people against it, the testimony of their closer friends who claimed they have witnessed it working in Lagos was stronger than my humble advice. |

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Get Your Star Tv Decoder And Watch 40 Cable Channels by microgint: 7:57am On May 17, 2011 |
@Ty207 Startimes paytv is using digital terrestrial transmission (A.K.A DTT) if there tvs are designed to receive only DTT signals then you can't view/watch local channels which are "analogue" on it. There are some Tvs which can receive both type of signals. So what you need to find out from the dealer(s) is if it can receive analogue signals. |
