NIM is a Professional Certificate while MBA is a professional degree. If you come from a non-management field like Sciences, Engineering et al, having an MBA is a wise decision, you would never regret, more so, it's a second degree. If you need Certification in Management, try CIPM. You can do it along with your MBA. |

dayowunmi:Hmn.. I think Antecedents, Leadership quality and Campus credibility speaks here. Check the vote margin again. "Prof. Elujoba won the in-house election with 201 votes ahead of Prof. Lamikanra, also from the Faculty of Pharmacy, who had 5 votes". |
First Ife Son to become Great Ife VC in the 54yrs old Institution, it couldn't have come better than now. Congratulations to all Ile-Ife Sons and Daughters, at home and abroad. May God give Prof. Elujoba to lead well and restore back the lost glory of OAU. Peaceful Reign Prof. |
Sometimes... I wish we can all avoid Lagos as a do without, but it's pretty gonna be hard. Lagos Life and Traffic gridlock be like Siamese twins.

Lol! Funny enough, answering all this grammar doesn't make you a better lawyer. To even imagine you have just 2hrs makes it worst but I also did a law course sha, once you know the answer, go straight cos no time for parabulating. (If there is an English word like that) ... Enjoy reggae and the blues, soon your name would have Barrister added to it. |
Plight of local indigent students in the face of serious competition with their foreign trained counterparts. - Fellow Nigerians, especially Children of the Commoners, let's find time to read this and ponder on what the future holds for us. - Ok, it is true that Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today, says Malcolm X. No doubt, indeed and in truth, the benefit of Education is priceless and may not even be quantified monetarily especially quality Education, because you may loose count of figures. - Yes, it's another time of the year where graduates all over the world leave schools admist great expectations of what the future holds. Beyond the skepticism of what beckons, it is about a time to celebrate academic excellence world over as graduates especially from Foreign Universities are coming out with loads of academic awards and excellent grades. Nigerian graduates are never found wanting too, as they are also keeping the flag high to show the rest of the world that look, " we can be blacks but we can give you a run for your money". - No doubt, Nigerians can be incredibly intelligent folks when given the needed environment to thrive and blossom. That's why I'm not surprised when we see them acing and cracking down big grades like codes. You think they are exceptionally geniuses, with amazing skills but only a few are really gifted so to speak, very many others are just like you and me, they persevere through thin and thick, through hot and cold, to get whatever they flaunt happily today. - The social media lately has beginning to be placing searchinglight on Nigerian graduates that come out with first class, especially from foreign Universities, either for first degree or a postgraduate degree. I started observing this trend last year when virtually all the kids of our rich politicians and business moguls are coming out with first class in very fine courses like pure water. - In the midst of this, I have noticed how pained many less privileged Nigerian trained graduates received the news. Very many are quick to say it's easier in overseas to come out with good grades, why can't they come and school here and achieve such feats, while some managed to congratulate these kids. - For close to almost a month now, I have read about almost Ten children of Nigerian ministers, Politicians, top functionaries and the high profile personality in our society, all bubbling in the celebration of this academic festival of Excellence that is fast becoming an exclusive rights of the rich. I first read about the daughter of a one time Nigerian Senator, Sen. Sanusi daggash, "habiba" who made a first class in an Engineering course from the prestigious University of Oxford, again before the ends of the day, I also read about one graduate of Usman Danfodio University (UDUS), Maimuna Tani Matankari who went to have a Distinction in Software Engineering from the prestigious University of Southampton, United Kingdom where she completed her Masters in Engineering programme. And as I write this, I'm reading about another young chap, Ibrahim Umar, son of an Abuja based Rich man who just graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey. - This week again, we heard of Reuben Abati's daughter Eyitope who bagged a First Class in Law and just this morning, another news came from Nottingham Trent University where the son of Enugu's CJ also just had his own first class in Accounting and the list goes endless. ( Like a friend told me yesterday, in no distant time, it is most likely that minimum requirements for juicy jobs would be First Class). - In all of this, I have noticed these feats do not come by surprise to their parents, they have always be excelling even while in Nigeria, you ask why? Many of them went to good and highly expensive sec. Schools in Abuja, Lagos, Kaduna, PH. Schools like Olashore Int'l School, Adesoye College Offa, Corona, Kings College, Loyola Jesuit, Abuja Capital Int'l College, Igbenedion Int'l Schools, Turkish International school among very many others. Bulk of these schools are much in Lagos where they are fond of Celebrating kids with 9'As on the front of Newspapers. So, what we see and celebrate today is a product of years of investment from toddler to adulthood, a privilege many of us do not have. May be the middle class still have some elements of luck, I mean kids of your next door doctors, lawyers, Engrs, Local Politicians, Cocoa Merchant and Senior Civil Servants, because many still struggle to afford less expensive schools like OAU Int'l Schools, U.I Int'l Schools, Mayflower, and others I may not remember to mention. Some of us went to local champion Sec. Schools where the administrators and gov't then still recognize selfless impacts of teachers and are encouraged, hence the average students among us struggled to have at least 5-Credits after reading in a manner that many of the so called today school leavers may not want to try, because of social network distractions. - Once you put your kids in an average community private school and you can dole out 30k per term, you can be rest assured that your kids would have his or her 8 credits at a sitting even though many have not done anything exceptional to deserve such grades. At least I remember when my siblings are writing their waec, I know how they watch films and sleeps like "eeta" (Civet-Cat), only to go to exams' hall and come back to say they have finished the day's paper. I would be forced to ask for the question paper and start asking, how many question did you answer? Are you sure you wrote this exam very well? And lo and behold, they usually have more than required 5 credits at a stretch. What do you expect? It's a private school, the result determines how people would be bringing their kids, hence proprietors do everything humanly possible to take care of Exam's Supervisors with fat Envelopes after they must have stylishly helped them. Hmn!! - What can we say today about our abandoned gov't schools from Ikot-ekpene to Mubi to Ibadan to Abeokuta to Ado-Ekiti to Lagos to Owerrri to Uromi to Ode-irele to Enugu to Bayelsa? How many poor kids can brag of having 7A's in WAEC lately? With the exception of Federal government Sec. Schools who still have pinch of some little standards and stride, the rest of our old great sec. schools today are just there. - When I read news like these about how rich kids are shinning like stars, I always feel like crying for the children of the poor, the under resourced souls who are just managing the education they see because they have no choice, otherwise they become pathetically lifetime illiterates. - In all these, I ask myself, is it these highly exposed dudes and smart guys that we would have to slug it out with in the outer world? Are we gonna be competing for the same jobs and relevance? I don't think so, no wonder they are quickly fix-up with our country best juicy jobs from CBN to FIRS to our very many Federal parastatals Jobs with huge salaries, because they are better trained and fit. - Who would employ a village graduate in CBN this days? May be in the 70's and 80's when Quality Education is meant for all and not now when the poor ones picks the skirmishes of the left-over from our poorly trained and unpaid teachers. If you are not concerned about the pathetic and sorry nature of our old schools, I am, if you feel untouched about the future of the poor kids in our individual communities then we have jointly betrayed humanity and sense of belonging has lost it's place long than we could find it. - It's about a time we should feel threatened about the daily success of the rich kids. If we can't all have access to wealth, quality Education should be guaranteed at least? Or don't you think so? Is it under lamp and candle with no encouragement that our cousins, siblings, Children and brothers and sisters would be encouraged to have 7'As in their Ibadan grammar School or Osogbo, Fakunle Comprehensive high school all of which are only left with old glories. - Conclusively, I ask myself and the rest of my esteemed readers especially from my highly deserted and impoverished local communities where schools are like warehouses and hangouts for breeding criminals and future monsters, would there ever be a time when the lost glory of our Schools would be gotten back? If we can't all travelled abroad, we should at least clamour for the betterness and revamping of the gorry ones we call schools. - I'm starting to accept the sayings of our fathers who says "Oloshi o Raye ire waa" (The poor is so unfortunate in this world), but then I would refuse to give up on equal rights to quality education at least for our Sec. Schools, the rich can not be having it all. - Honestly, I know many things are wrong with this country. Bad roads, poor livelihood, unemployment, erratic power supply, corruption, nepotism, tribalism, terrorism and whole lot of other woes but I still believe a new Nigeria is possible, when and how is what I can never say. - And for the rich and the privileged among us, I must tell you that opportunity is what you have, opportunity to wealth, opportunity to be at the best place at the right time, you ain't better than others. Be grateful and be concern about the plight of the poor because nothing last forever, the table may change one day. And for the poor that is about to loose hope among us, be it financially or Academically, let me tell you not to despise your own place and hour. Every place is under the stars, every place is the center of the world. Your own time would come, only if you keep fighting on. - #Educationalrightcampaign# #Renovatesourschools# Micronut writes.. Nairaland is an online community forum created by Seun Osewa and launched on the 10th of March 2005. It is targeted at Nigerians. - Nairaland currently has over 1,400,000 registered accounts (August 2015), and is ranked as the 7th most visited site in Nigeria (and the most visited indigenous site) according to Alexa.com. Nairaland reportedly has over 55 million Internet users, corresponding to 32.9% of the entire population. With Nairaland having a considerable but unconfirmed number of users based in diaspora, this statistic suggests that a maximum 3% of Nigerian Internet users are registered on Nairaland compared to Facebook's 11 million Nigerian users which corresponds to approximately 20% of the Internet population. - Nairaland, however, does have a considerable number of unregistered users, as registration is only necessary for posting. - Now, personally I joined this forum in 2010 with a long gone account that I couldn't remember the password again, and ever since, i have gained so much here and would everly be indebted to Oga Seun for this laudable initiative. No doubt Nairaland is Naija No 1 News source even before it gets to any news' desk, here you get first hand information more than anywhere in Nigeria. - Here are few ways with which this forum has impacted me; 1. I used to win a lot of social argument bothering on politics, Celebrities gist, Career, Education and Current Affairs courtesy of what i read here on Nairaland. Once i read a thing, i would go and boast about it to my friends and as such, i became information source for almost anything till today. From Job posts to admission forms to events.- 2. As a result of (1) above, I earned so much respect from friends who ordinarily think I'm intelligent or I read a lot of books, not knowing Nairaland is my secret. ![]() - 3. I met a lot of lifetime worthy friends here who I wouldn't want to leave for anything. - 4. I catch a lot of funs here, laugh heavily when I'm stressed up and usually make nairaland my last reading dinner before I sleep off. What I think about Nairaland: I think Nairaland is a great place every socially conscious Nigerians should be, it's sweet to be here like you are on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and the rest of other social networks. Here I had met great and funny people like, Oga Jarus, Crazyman, Truckpusher, xfire, safarigirl, ogbeje77, OMA4J, Onila(f), FirstEva(f), freecocoa(f) rokiatu(f) who are nairaland's grandfather and grandmothers long before the likes of even moderators like lalasticlala, Mynd44, and showbiz dudes like naijaboy, cutehetor, Ladyf, Aminat08 and the now runaway perpetual first-to-comment FTC girl "INTROVERT" came to steal the show until it lasted. - Bad sides of Nairaland: I think Nairaland influences one consciously or Unconsciously to start acting-up about things like tribal misdemeanor, religion clashes, unguided statements and abusive words. The Name Checkers Association cum tribal warlords have no doubt, done more evil and had made a lot of people loose so much interest to be coming here again. Suggestions: I wish Oga Seun could urgently address the issues raised above as badsides because its affecting the reputation of the forum, even though I believe the recent upsurge in tribal attacks is an offshoot of how bad the country is, many of the perpetual bashing guys are jobless graduates ranting out of frustration. Being busy on internet 247 can highly be linked to an idle hand more than a place to catch fun. So, I still think, the tribalism and religion bashing of a thing would still be reduced, when people get busy with life, as a result of a working Nigeria. Also we need more of Inspirational, educative, career and development post on front page with less of celebrities shows. Finally, I must say i miss pranks and jokes from people like friedplantain, Classcaptain and lasisi9 who would always says everything is "Endtime" . And more than anyone, i miss a Man called "Ajanlenkoko" who like Oga Jarus has comtributed in many positive and unquanifiable ways to the reservoir of knowledge, as they deserve a Nairaland meritorious Online Award if there is anything every like that. Indeed, here is a community to be. We need love.- What do you think about Nairaland, in all honesty? How has this forum helped you? Share your Experience too. Thank God it's Friday One Love Nigerians. englishmart:Yes, nice one from him. Many guys are real culprit here. And no thanks to all girlfriends begging to be sex too, or else they leave you. And for the moniker, I like it as well. Just like roastedcorn, cornbeaf, whiterice and many funny other ones. |
I just know that name must be from one peculiar tribe known for drug peddling. Some tribes and Drug trafficking are like inseparable Siamese twins.
