Business(Watch) How To Start A Profitable Mechanic Business In Nigeria by micronut(op): 1:53am On Jul 02, 2018
Most mechanics use their skills working for someone else. But if you have business skills and access to some capital, you’ll be in a good position to learn how to start an auto repair shop of your own. There will always be demand for good quality, reliable mechanics, so start now, and set up your very own mechanic business.

Plan Ahead

One of the very first things you’ll need to do is write a business plan. No doubt, you’ve heard the saying before: If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Every business needs a plan, and it’s got to be more than just “We’ll rent a shop and fix cars for money. If we get enough customers, we will make a profit.” Sure, that’s the basic goal – but it’ll be much harder to achieve it you don’t lay the foundations for success by planning well.

You need to set clear goals for where your business is headed, as well as more achievable shorter-term goals – and then set out how you intend to reach them. Your plan should also include things like advertising methods and expenses, as well as any specific start-up costs that you’ll have to pay, for example to buy vital equipment such as an engine crane.

You don’t necessarily have to open your own repair shop from scratch – you could look into buying one that already exists and is up for sale. That way you’ll already have a suitable building to use, as well as a few employees who may stick around under the new ownership, and even more importantly returning customers and an established marketing presence – though if the existing business has a bad reputation beware, you could end up spending a fortune on marketing to put that right.

You could also consider purchasing a franchise branch of an established company. This means you will operate under their name instead of your own, and that established brand name is a reassurance to customers that your garage can be trusted. Training and equipment is also generally provided. However, you may be limited to the company’s business practices in a way you wouldn’t when running your own business.

Location

Whether you choose to franchise, buy an existing shop, or branch out on your own – location is vital in the mechanics business. Perhaps even more so than other types of business, your location will play a huge role in whether your business succeeds or fails.

Shops located near major roads or in the middle of busy towns or cities typically fare much better than those out in the middle of nowhere. That being said, if you set up in a more rural area with a close-knit community and gain their trust, treating customers well and getting the work done quickly and effectively, then you could form a far bigger core customer base that will pass down through the generations.

Nairaland GeneralDepression In Nigeria: Why You Need Not To Quit. by micronut(op): 6:51pm On Jun 30, 2018
A female friend asked on her Facebook page that "how many people have attempted committing suicide before and the responses I read shocked me".

About 60% of the respondents have actually attempted to quit this world at one time or the other.. Wow!!!

Very strange! My mini random data showed that the reasons why most are unhappy are mostly financial and emotional (Usually Relationship and family matters).

For those with financial reasons, some couldn’t afford what they wish and compare themselves to others, and feel like "Why Me". Some wanna leave because they feel life hasn’t been fair.

Then I was forced to ask, who has ever had it fair and fine? Even the rich cries. In fact they weep in corridors. So, what’s now the stress?

But then the question is this - what should you live for?
Why should you see your barrenness, relationship failures, Joblessness, Financial Predicaments, health challenge and many of those life challenges as parts of life travails..

See, Whoever promised you an itch free life is surely not your maker, as the scripture even said, you will be tried but you will overcome..

So, live, for there is a next time. To quit is the greatest tragedy of existence to face the unknown. You are only leaving for uncertainties.

Oh, I wish I can explain this with Islamic perspective that this life is really not ours, rather a fitnah – problem filled.. So why should you quit?

See Why you should stay..

1. Because there are always better days. If you ask those living well today, you will cry when you listen to their stories. If movies can make you cry, then I wonder what many of you will go through when reality stares.

2. Because you are not alone. I was shocked when I heard the general overseer of a popular church just had his first child decades after marriage. This is a man of God praying for others o. God is great. So, who are you? Keep praying and hoping.

3. Because there is Hope: A funny Yoruba adage says, “it is because we don’t know what a pregnant today will give birth to, tomorrow, that’s why many of us are still living”.. Lol! Funny as it is, but it is just the fact. Hope is the only reason for being patient, for the next hour. Funnily, Hope is a rich reward because it is sometimes loaded with tons of unbelievable events, so why don’t you hold on.

4. Because you are important to people around. You see, seeing you around is a source of happiness to your love ones. So when you wanna quit, think of people that hold you in high esteem.

On the friend's post, a dude said something funny. He said, why will I Kill myself? Me that I’m the only son of my family, even if na garri and sugar, i no dey go anywhere o.. .lol . You can imagine! I called him star ★ boy.. Lol! I you don’t know your worth, you are subjected to abuse of Identification. You are what you call yourself abeg…

5. Look Around and see your true place Finally, if you think why my own come be like this, visit places, go out. My spiritual father once said that "no matter what, you are someone’s somewhere wish – to be like".

Everyday, someone somewhere says, How I was to be like this person.

The man trekking is looking up to the man in Car or on bike, the man on wheelchair wish he will one day stand and walk freely. He wish he could trek miles and run.

While the bedridden hopes he could one day be wheeled atleast. To leave the bed. You see why you need to be happy and be hopeful for tomorrowhuh Lol…Be strong people.

Personally I want to grow up with tougher mind to face life. So, I have never attempted to end it.. Let us die naturally.

How do I do it? I find comfort in the future that I don’t know. I just know there is a better tomorrow. Even now, my greatest hope as a man is that there is always a better day ahead. I try to seek the face of the lord for grave and heavenly reward and sometimes forget worldly things. It works most time.

If you cry that you have no shoe to wear, think of many that can’t even walk. Be grateful.

Work on your down moments. Pray too..

I just wish to Drop this Here.

Romance5 Reasons Why True Lovers May Not End Up As Couples by micronut(op):
Do you know that sometimes love is not enough to push a good relationship to permanent site? – that is, Marriage.

Yeah, sometimes deciding to marry each other takes more than mere loving, because of certain inherent factors that are also too big to overlook, except, when one has seriously determine to risk all odds and make it work.

Have you ever seen two lovers who still speak good of their one time relationships that you wonder why they are no longer together?

Well, that’s a sign that love is not enough, and certain heavy issues have been considered, where each person has to move on, even when the love and feeling are still there.

It is a hard decision to let go, but for the benefits of both sides, cutting it off can do more goods, and because you might always meet a better person, it is not a bad choice to make, sometimes.

Here are 5 reasons why true lovers may never end up as couples;

1. Health Issues: This has to do with genotype incompatibility often. For example, An AS guy who fall in love with another AS girl, may not want to take the risk of becoming couples, because of the health crisis that might affect children from such marriage.

When you look at the pains that children with sickle cell anemia pass through to live, many lovers will understand that quitting is sometimes cool, and not only because of the plight of the innocent child but also because of the financial burdens, they will knowingly put themselves into. Hence, many cut it off, and would never forget the beautiful memories once shared.

2. Personality Differences : Ever seen a guy who tells you he loves a girl so much but he can’t marry her? Or a girl tells you so much about one wonderful guy who is only good as a friend to keep around or as bestie?

Well personality differences play a key role here. Many Adults understand that going into marriage with someone must involve a lot of questions – to be sure of moving with the right person, but because many can’t find concrete answers to many of these very important questions, due to personality differences, they often halt the relationship.

E.g A temperamental person who marries someone like him or her should know they are building a house of commotion already.

Also, a dirty girl shouldn’t marry a dirty guy, to avoid smelly house.. Lol, funny but its the truth.

Similarly, If the husband is not organized, the wife should be, at least, otherwise, family will suffer from poor planning.

Again, If the wife is not a patient person, the husband should be, but when both have same bad sides, complementing goes wrong in a big way. As a result of these characters incompatibility, many realize where to end it quickly.

3. Religion Differences: This is another stumbling block to marrying for love alone. Except, where either of the lover is willing to take on the religion of the other or there is an agreement for each to practice his or her religion, such relationship often ends with only lofty memories.

Here, Issues like what become of the religion of the children in the face of clashes of religion practice, upbringing of both partners by background and many more are factors that act as barriers to taking a stand.

4. Parental Consent
: Because we are Africans, parents are such important factors who decide if a relationship will lead to marriage or not.

Many a times, we stop serious relationship because of parental stands, from either the father or the mother.

Issues like; “No, you can not marry her, my spirit rejects her”, “He is from one tribe that I would never open my eyes to allow you to go and pick from husband from, the maltreat wives”, or the family doesn’t have a good image and many other funny reasons. Lol

Although, many lovers have weathered this storm, where some ended up saying, “I thank God, I didn’t change my mind” and some till now, are regretting it, saying “…and my parents warned me oo..”

When you look at people’s who had taken these steps of ignoring parental warnings, you might not want to jump the gun, hence the beautiful relationship ends.

http://naijalocals.com.ng/2018/06/27/5-reasons-why-true-lovers-may-not-end-up-as-couples/

Well, having said all these, and just have to weigh the pros and cons, by asking salient questions like; Does it worth, Won’t I regret it? Can we end up as happy couples? Can I bear these risks? Does it really matter?

Finding answers to these questions will surely guide when you find your self in this state. Like the elders will say, If it faces you from the front, spank it, if it does same to you from the back, do the same and when yourself in a lonely state, rethink and take a stand – Meaning only you can help yourself.

Well, I personally believe love should conquer though, except when serious risks are involved. Or, What do you think? Drop your comments.

Thanks.

Nairaland GeneralHigher Degrees Not Impacting Lives – ASUU Chairman by micronut(op): 4:40pm On Jun 30, 2018
The Academic Staff Union of Universities said the craze for the acquisition of higher degrees in the country had not impacted enough on national growth and transformation.

The chairman of the University of Lagos chapter of the union, Dr Dele Ashiru, made the assertion in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Lagos.

According to him, the craze for higher degrees such as Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and others has not had any significant impact on the needs of the society.

He said rather than go after higher degrees; Nigerians should venture into technical and vocational studies for skills acquisition that would directly impact lives.

Yes, it is desirable for the system to produce holders of higher degrees, especially PhDs, but PhDs for what?

“I think we should refocus and restructure our education system so that it will be more relevant to our society rather than award higher degrees.

“Come to think of it, all the people that have acquired PhDs in Nigeria, let us carry out a forensic audit of what they are giving back to the society.

“Most people are running after the acquisition of these degrees for selfish motives. They feel for instance, that it is a requisite for their progression in life or a ticket for fulfilled life,” he said.

He added that, regrettably, such development was only peculiar to a country like Nigeria.

Ashiru noted that the way out was to pump enough funds into the vocational and technical education as well as meaningful research for socio-economic and political development.

He said successful Nigerians who had acquired wealth legitimately or otherwise should pump part of such money into the education system.

Food5 Reasons Why You Should Take Pap & Akara As Breakfasts by micronut(op): 9:26am On Jun 29, 2018

"Before now, I used to make sheer mockery of people, who enjoy taking pap and akara (Beans Cake) in Nigeria" – In fact, I tell people, why must you give me pap? Am I sick? Lol. Because only sick people who can’t eat other quality foods, are begged to take pap, tea or bread, at least to hold the stomach. Smile.

Well, I have recently realized that Ogi or Pap or Koko (in whatever language you choose to call it) is actually good for the body for many reasons and it is an ideal breakfast, anytime and anyday.

Very quickly, for those who don’t know what Pap is – Well, Pap is a processed maize grain, turned into light liquid food and acts as a good energy source.

In kids, it is used to complement breast milk and supplemented foods after a child is 6months + in native Nigeria.

In Adults, it is an easily absorbed food like custard that doesn’t go wrong for any one. Pap is for everybody, from old to Young, rich to poor.

Akara on the other hand, is a processed grinded bean, turned into fried cakes. It’s an amazing native cake with commercial importance in Nigeria. Almost every where you go, you will see an Akara seller in Nigeria.

Well, here are 5 Reasons why you should start your day with Pap and Akara.

1. It is the Cheapest Nigerian Food –Pap, in the categories of myriads of local foods is just too affordable for anyone. With #20 or #50, you can buy pap that will be cup-filled and you will have a great feeling. To me, pap is the cheapest and fastest to get, Nigerian meal when you compare it with bread and garri.

In fact, there is a general saying in Yoruba Native Marketing that “Owo idako mu ni” – Meaning it is as cheap as the money to afford a pap. Lol!

So, when anyone says this to you, to drive sales, know what it means please.

Akara on the other hand is also relatively cheap – with a cup of beans, you can have like 5 balls of fried akara that you will eat to satisfaction.

2. An Ideal breakfast: According the Nutritionists, a great meal for starting a day, should be light and energy giving. Heavy foods are not advisable. And when you talk of foods in these categories, like Bread and Tea, Light yam and Egg, etc. Ogi (Pap) and akara should top the least, not only because it is faster to cook but economical like I said before.

There is even another saying by the Elders that “when the whites take tea, our great grandfathers do well with pap and the feeling is mutual”. Lol. Try Pap today.

3. Amazing Nutritional Benefit: The combinations of (Ogi) Pap and Akara is not doubt a balanced meal for good health and body enrichment. The origin of pap, which is maize, is a rich carbohydrate source. Akara from Beans give protein too. To give a better advantage, you can also add Honey or milk, for full health benefits, and you will always take to have more.

Well, Do you know with a #700, you can plan your everyday breakfast for a week and cut budget plans your family food ? Smile.. Think about it.

Go and prepare your Pap now or plan for it tomorrow.

Good morning, have a pappy day.

Business3 Easiest Ways To Make Money As A Graduate In Nigeria by micronut(op): 10:57pm On Jun 06, 2018
Do you know you don’t have to engage in crime to feed and live right, as a graduate while still waiting for Jobs? – That’s if you hate being self employed anyway.

Again, as a graduate today, with availability of information online, many of which most of us are accessible to, do you know you can make money effortlessly by just thinking out of box and being smart?

Yes, I’m not talking about online business cryto nonsense here or network cock and bull stories, I mean real legal ways where your little efforts give financial productiveness.

Well, today I would share with you 3 easiest ways to start making money legally as a graduate while you keep waiting for that big Job interview.

Here they are:

1. Agency Officer: I’m sure the words “Agency officer” are self explanatory. As an Agent, you are an Intermediary between a “buyer’ and “a seller” – In short you are the middleman.

For me, being an Agent is the cheapest Job I know a graduate could do easily. All it takes is to look for a sector you are good at and start facilitating sales.

Take for example, you can be an Agent in Agricultural sector, in Real Estate business, Education as Edu Consultancy Service owner, in trading etc.

Here, think of Land Agents, house rentage agents, sales agents. If you know what agent fee on rental or sales is today, you will know it’s not a small side ways to make money. Read more about this here.

http://naijalocals.com.ng/2018/06/06/3-easiest-ways-to-make-money-as-a-graduate-in-nigeria/

2. Digital Marketing: Now, this is closely related to agency but a bit different in scope and strategy. Let me help you understand it. The word digital Marketing may look a bit complex to many or sound technical, but the meaning is just very simple, forget whatever big English words they used. Lol, In clear terms, it simply means “selling or marketing products online”.

How do you go about this?

Follow me…

You see, today, almost everyone is looking for a digital marketer now, from online shops to fashion houses. Do you know anyone can become a digital marketer and you don’t need to go and be applying at anywhere and in fact you don’t need an interview? Lol.

You are the one selling for them, so you should be the boss.

Follow these 3 steps and thank me later.

1. Search for Local Clients: In digital marketing, the big deal is looking for Virtual customers or clients. They are somewhere, they need a service or a product not readily available, they come online to search and find your ads. You bargain on behalf of the seller, you deliver and you make good money for yourself.

2. Search for Local businesses: I’m sure you must have seen very beautiful locally made Furniture like Chairs, Beds, designed Cupboards, in your your next door streets, or beautiful clothes by your friends who are fashion designers or even cars from Motors dealers, these are your feeding channels. Do you know many of these people have products begging for patronage? This is good for you.

Do you know that on a car you sell for motor selling companies, you can make decent profits of no less than 200k? Oh… This is what a friend does with a good office and family. Research more or contact me for more details. Lol.

3. Selling Stories: Yes, stories are sweet you know. Not only to the listeners but also to the story tellers. You know you can make money from stories as a writer than you could imagine.

There are two types of stories you can sell.

You can read more on this here as well.

In life, Education is not just important, but also a key to unlocking many life’s impossibilities, hidden in knowledge. No doubt, education is crucial towards man’s personal development, especially in an ever competitive world of today.

In fact, whoever says, “who schooling has helped” would need to go out and meet tons of people who in spite of their achievements still wish they are lettered.

So, in a simple language, not being educated – at least to be able to read and write, is like being handicapped in present day world. So, your being educated is a plus.

Now having said all these, isn’t Education sometimes overrated
?

Smile.. Sure it is. And these are why.

When you feel being educated is the only thing you need to have to succeed in life or way out of poverty

Or when you feel when you’re educated, you automatically should be placed above anyone else without no serious things to offer as skills, talents and personality's attributes, other than your paper certificate or CV, then you are really over hyping your schooling and window dressing yourself.

In reality, you are not more than what the papers you have acquired have to say about you.

Now, isn’t that belittling? I think it is.

A graduate should be more than his or her credentials but an embodiment of intellectual assets & potentials of immeasurable values.

This is who you should be after school. Think of ways to survive without your certificate or along with your certificate.

Now that you have graduated, Congrats, but what next?.

For how long will you keep waiting for jobs? When your life is at standstill for years? Isn’t that a reason why you should look inward and check yourself?

Well, here are four things to do, when the waiting is getting too long or you don’t know what next.

1. Discover yourself: One of the greatest personal deceits that I have noticed in people, many times, is the habit of forming or trying to represent who/what they are not, or trying to be like someone, when in reality their personalities are way different.

See, there are no two persons under this planet with the same gene, so is it with our personalities. We are unique in our own different ways. Even identical twins are not always identical in gifts, needs and desires.. So why not discover yourself now that schooling is over?

You have been tricked to study courses others are studying, you got in and discovered this isn’t for you, shouldn’t that give you a clue that you need to look for what work for you and follow your own path and dream?

Sit down today and ask the following questions..

– Who am I beyond my name?

– How well do I know myself?

– What have I always wanted to become in life?

– Am I still on track, even now that I have graduated?

– Do I still have the time, ability and zeal to pursue those things I had always wanted to be or am I already rooting for something else?

I believe the answers you get for these, would evidently guide you.

So, stop lying to yourself that you are this, you are that – rather, be real. Find out who you are, discover yourself and sell yourself.

2. Find out what people like (complement) most about you :

What is that special thing people want from you, every time you meet? When you are not around, what do people miss most about you? Is a “nose” or “penchant” for unraveling the best of gists?

“Oh. Do they say, how we wish Juliet is here, she would have find out for us, through her akprokos – the mystery behind aunty Linda belle. Lol”

Or do someone keep saying, “Oh, there is just one guy I love in our department – Kunle, he is just brilliantly fashionable. He truly has eyes for the best of clothes and accessories”.

Or, Greg is so intelligent, I love the way he addresses issues and I enjoy watching him speak.

Or Audu is just too studious, and can explain things to you in a way that will be understandable to a little child.

What do all these tell us about these great people? –

1. That Juliet can do well with her talent in Entertainment business, as an entertainment journalist for magazines, TV houses and field reporter, covering celebrities gists or events for media houses or as an entertainment blogger like Linda ikeji kemi filani, or stelladimorkus.

2. That, Kunle will on the other hand do well in fashion designing business, in fashion sales, and laundry services.

3. Greg will no doubt be a great Leader as a politician, a public speaker, a social analyst, a public commentator or even a journalist.

4. Audu as will all know will no doubt be a good teacher, and a lecturer.

Amazingly, these professions are stuffs you can start today – Juliet, as a blogger or unpaid entertainment journalist with data and mobile fone.

Kunle as a low cost fashion digital marketer or neighborhood laundry man that can start with little or nothing.

Greg as an intern journalist or social influencer that can gain recognition from social media like Facebook, and Twitter, where he would be guest on TV shows.

And of course, teaching job is the easiest job to get for Audu today in Nigeria.

So, what else? Start some where.

3.What can you do better as a Graduate.

Now, that you are educated, what are those things still being done in the traditional ways that you feel you can put a better touch to, for more appeal?

If you look around, you will see how loads of those who didn’t attend schools are doing these stuffs and realize you could bring a difference.

For example, there are loads of opportunites in food business and owambe industries, begging for better hands. You can become part of it. “No industry is too crowded if you have what is unique and lovely to crave for”.

A friend with Msc started packaged dry (iru) locust bean in a fine designed nylon pack and today the product is one of the best local brands in Nigeria.

Another friend is a professional in “Aso Oke” sourcing, (Yoruba local attires for special occasions).

Today, he is becoming an authority in the industry.

Who says you can’t start today and calve a niche for yourself?

Today, food processing and packaging is receiving a whole lot branding and they are becoming more accepted than ever before, you too can think of something.

Think! Think! Stop sleeping, come online. “Ji ma sun” Lol.

Please, observe those things that people are doing, that you could do better. It’s important, it’s a secret..You don’t have to start a new thing, you can always do old things in a new way. Be wise!

After all, being educated should be an added advantage just like recruiters would say – that a computer knowledge and higher degrees are added advantage or edge as an applicant in Job Requirements for JD.

Wake up today, dear graduate.

Remember, You’re more than what you think you are, if only you can think and make yourself successful today.

Wishing you all the best.

In what looks like a serious need for IGR, the management of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti has gone a step ahead to publicize the urgent need for Ex students to come and collect their certificates at a charge of #25,000 and with a deadline of June 4th, after which the price will jump up again.

Meanwhile, many Ex students have taken to the social media to express their displeasures with this management desperate need for money, even from Alumni, when many are still struggling to survive after school.

A confirmed report from students who had gone back to the campus to process the certificate collection has revealed that the total payment is actually way more than #25,000, because of many side payments like convocation fee of your year of graduation and certain funny charges that looks like extortions to officials at the student affair units.

"No one will spend less than 40k" - Few Graduates already with the certificate disclosed.

Smile.. Isn't the student that should be worried about the need for his or her Certificate?

Lol.. This is Nigeria indeed - In falz's voice.

PoliticsVideo: Watch As Sen. Dino Returns & Speaks To The Senate by micronut(op): 7:07pm On May 30, 2018
In what looks like a dramatic return with walking stick, the video of how the embattled Senator representing Kogi West, Sen. Dino Melaye walked into the Red chamber has surfaced.

Amidst wild laughter and emotions, his colleagues welcomed him back with cheers and greetings, while he swiftly requested for a Change of sitting position, in what looks like a reaction or a feeling of betrayal from his APC Household.

He thus, wished his seat be provided near the PDP family, particularly Sen. David Mark.

Dino visibly shunned the Senate President Bukola Saraki, who pleaded and insisted that remain seated in this seat. Lol!

According to Senator Melaye, his reason for wanting a change of seat is because his present seat is no longer comfortable after his ordeal with the police and his health issues.

But the lawmakers from the ruling APC kicked against the move by Senator Melaye arguing that it is against the constitution.

Meanwhile, the opposition lawmakers welcome the change of seat by Senator Dino Melaye.
