amtaken:Get away... Bigot! Prof. Pat had his PhD also at 26. What make this girl own unique is the fact that she is "female" unlike prof, she got her PhD in law unlike prof who majored on Political Economy. More importantly, prof graduated when Education world wide was still great unlike now... This girl finished from LASU, a commonly overlooked state school as some shallow thinkers do still believe it's about school forgetting it's about who you are, what you can do and how you develop yourself. Congrats Adeola ( I know you are on nairaland). And Happy Birthday to Prof. Pat Utomi. in advance. |
The 19-year-old student of the School of Nursing, a training arm of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti, who was on admission at the hospital after being diagnosed of having Lassa fever, has been discharged. The patient was rushed to the hospital on Saturday, January 16, after being treated for malaria and typhoid fever with high profile antibiotics, but without positive response. The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Lawrence Ayodele Majekodunmi, at a press conference at the hospital where he broke the news, also said that the patient was treated and discharged without any of its medical team contracting the disease. Majekodunmi, who confirmed that the patient is a student of the hospital's School of Nursing, however, said that the patient did not contract the disease while in school but at home during the Christmas/New year holiday. He, however, vowed to punish non committed hospital's staff during the management of the Lassa fever crisis. He said, "We are celebrating courage, boldness, because we have taken a giant step to face what others could not withstand. Now the patient is well, we tested her again after the treatment and she tested negative and has been discharged and has begun her normal life." While appealing for the federal government"s assistance in the area of funding, the Chief Medical Director said the hospital had plans to expand the isolation centre in the hospital as well execute more projects but lacks of funding. While eulogising the medical team that treated the patient, Majekodunmi urged the federal government to give "special recognition" to the team as morale booster to them. "I appreciate my medical team, in fact they are the best in the country now. "We can only be encouraged to do more. My hope is that the government should compensate them." One of the nurses, Mrs. Adejoke Awotona, while sharing her experience, said the staff were ready to discharge their duties anytime they are called upon. She, however, pleaded with the federal government to increase their hazard allowance from the present N5,000 saying "N5,000 is too small to sacrifice our lives." odimbannamdi:Noted sir! |
Faraidi: e pain am....sorry! See English " u too are dull as ur dullard". No comment. |
Faraidi:Gerrout olodo dumb head. Just saying trash. "All Universities" not "All university". Let me enlighten you a bit, there is little, that a prestigious or illustrious varsity can do for you. Self and personal development is what can make you stand out. Olodo oshi claiming he knows. |
Faraidi:See your life, there is nothing like half-baked University, we can only have half-baked graduate. By their approach, we shall know them. Continue embarrassing yourself. I'm done with you. |
FRANKOXY:Lol.. |
rodeo0070:No sir. It's a personal pathfinding street research work. |
engrkenny:Thanks my hommie. We would get there one day. Igbiyanju ati adura logba. (Hard work and prayer). |
Faraidi:Lol.. I don't know what your definition of illiteracy is, but I can tell you I'm well read and exposed for my age. Without being modest, I had 2.1 degree in biochemistry, I'm an hustler and presently a postgraduate student of a reputable business school. Well, I can tell you I'm a product of the academia and the street vibes. Stay bless. |
Now my practical street Experience In my findings, I found out that, an average barber cuts at 200naira per head and has at least 5 customers per day. Meaning you can make BTW 1k to 2k convincingly. That's, BTW 24k to 48k averagely in a month (excluding Sundays), at your own pace, time and cinviniency. In the same vein, I had once asked a young boy using keke napep to ply around a university campus, how much he makes daily, who owns the keke and how much does he delivers. The boy told me he is looking for admission, he makes 6k per day between 7am to 5pm (Including time to rest and pray in the mosque). I questioned further, he told me he delivers 4k daily to his dad and holds 2k. Meaning, he makes 10k weekly for himself and 20k for his dad (for five working days, excluding Saturdays and Sundays). Invariably, he makes 40k monthly from riding keke and delivers 80k for his dad.. Hmn, akeem told me about his dream to still go to school, get the certificate and set himself up with a good business. I won't be surprised to see him 10years later as a rich man and a philanthropist. - I have also had similar experience with those that sells fruits, at least I have seen a woman living next close to my room who I overheard from someone, of how she makes at least 2k daily from selling ogi (local custard). Funny enough she doesn't hawk around, as people come to book and buy. She makes money from the shaft (eri) and unimaginably, the pap water for those that love it to make herbs (Agbo). -The above and many more are ways to get busy if one is still looking for office jobs, at least, life would go on as they use to say. Basic necessities would be taken care of and with planning, one can move to other endeavours. Thank you. From Microplux Solutions. Xploit © 2016. First and foremost, create time to read this. The Oyinbo (White) men findings, have consistently shown that shyness kills alot. Infact, one of the western writers, by the name, Daphne du Maurier, once said, "I wondered how many people there were in the world who suffered, and continued to suffer, because they could not break out from their own web of shyness and reserve, and in their blindness and folly built up a great distorted wall in front of them that hid the truth". Well, may be that is one the reason why our fore fathers use ti say, " enikan kii fi itiju ka'arun", (Yoruba adages says one can't be too shy to speak out and be affected with diseases). They also agreed like the white man that shyness kills, ("itiju a maa paani" .Where am I getting at? It's simple. That you are a Bsc holder without job and meaningful source of living and you still prides yourself that you can't do certain things because it's like a shame to you, my brother, i beg of you to have a rethink. I can tell you there over 1001 things you can do and would still live better than a secondary school teacher. Look everywhere, opportunities abound. Forget shame, determination and planning is the key. - Forget knotting of tie, life responsibilities and necessities are not after that. The society no longer respects you because of where you work but what you earn and what they can see. As one of friend would say, " Oga Ade, na who get money we know ". - Dear, jobless patriotic and desirous graduate, look beyond your degree if it has not gotten you much since you bagged it. Believe me, your hand and brain could get you better if only you can look inward. If your parent can pay your school fees for 4 or 5years, why not talk to them for small capital. 30k,40k,50k and as much as they can give. You would be surprised at how much your little capital would fetch you daily with dedication, planning and prayer. - One of the gift am blessed with is "observation and questioning" which are virile tool of Marketing Research. In my quest to know, I'm fond of asking hustlers and those we tagged illiterates, all manners of questions, ranging from how much they make daily, where they source their products and goods, how lucrative or profitable is certain enterprises or vocations. In all of this, I have found out that shame, shyness and the mindsets of what would people say is the real reason why many graduates are wasting away. The certificate that is sitting in one file at home, gathering dust is now the "igiworoko", (the obstructive) that impedes many graduates from developing financially and mentally after school. |

What the whites brought to us is not Education but English literacy, intellectual rape discern to tell us about ourselves rather than telling them who we are. When you have a degree in a particular discipline, the question you should ask yourself is what can I do with this? If your degree can not impact, solve problems and add values, then in actual fact, you have not acquired a degree that would change your status and change people's life. Why must you be looking for someone that created his or her own job to employ you? It means you are an employee not a problem solver.. You are someone conditioned to abide by rules and should for no reason flout one. You are a slave, that is, someone who does not ask questions. When you get a job and you are told not to bring your child, that is not work but job. One who works, has a saying on what he or she does. You are a slave. That is why when you finished school and they tell you to go into a labour market, they are telling you that you are a professional labourer. Soon, you would be part of labour union and be fighting for your rights after you must have been deprived. Oh you think a banker is better than an "adire woman"? Oh...then you knows nothing. If an adire maker can come to her work with her baby. She decides when to come to work and not, she decides what she gets monthly, when to leave work and what to wear. If the adire maker has the liberty to do as she pleases while the banker has to follow as the employer wishes, then you and I know who is better. Philosophy is about what you say and how you think while sociology is about what the society says... Africans and Nigeria youths, Why can't you think? Think and think.. Don't just accept what the society throws at you or thinks you are. Be a problem solver, not job haunters. Look everywhere, there are 1001 things begging to be fix. Start from there, that is only place where you can earn yourself a name, a pride, a sense of belonging, a fame and a value. No ones becomes great because he is the best employee or labourer. Greatness comes from the art and act you have mastered, that changes people's life, betters yours and profits you. If you are the best presenter on channels TV and your life becomes something when you are unfortunately fired, then what is good about you? You are just like many past athletes that have risen to glory and stardom but fails to plan, hence they tarry. Think about your life, reflect on the past and caste a future's platform upon which you can navigate. Above are the recollected words and profound inspiration from, Prof Mrs Sophie bosede Oluwole from an interview she recently granted. Prof Sophie Oluwole has written more than 50 books on African and classical philosophy, she is a one time Dean of students affair of Unilag, one time Hod and Dean faculty of Arts, LASU. Prof is a staunch believer of self reasoning and African culture. She retired in Year 2000 from Unilag. Interview Extraction and additional message was done and put together by micronut. Today being the 45th year anniversary of His Imperial Majesty, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba lamidi Adeyemi lll. The newly crowned Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja ll, as a mark of honour and a lover of peace surprisingly showed up at the Alaafin Atiba's palace this afternoon. History was made on Sunday as the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi became the first Ooni to visit Oyo town since 1937. The Methodist Church, Apaara, venue of the 45th coronation anniversary thanksgiving of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, became electrified immediately news filtered in that Oba Ogunwusi’s convoy has reached Owode, followed by many other Obas. The late Ooni Sijuwade and Oba Adeyemi were embroiled in supremacy battle. Decked in the normal Ooni trademark attire, Oba Ogunwusi shook hands with the Alaafin and they sat on the same chair, both beaming with smiles. An elated Oba Adeyemi, who had earlier read from the Bible, said the last time an Ooni visited the Alaafin was in 1937, adding that he was very close to many Obas in Yorubaland and beyond. Revealing how close he was to Ooni Adesoji Aderemi, the monarch said he never disrespected him but prayed for his longevity on the throne. “The misunderstanding started during the reign of the last Ooni. May your reign be long, Ooni. I am happy with Ooni Ogunwusi’s moves to unite all Yoruba Obas,” Oba Adeyemi stated. Oba Ogunwusi described Alaafin as a great monarch, noting that “it is a new dawn for all Yoruba sons and daughters around the globe,” He ended his speech with the song ‘Ore l’ao mase…Awa o ba ti ja wa ooo, Ore l’ao ma sem” (We will continue to be friends).” Oba Ogunwusi and other Obas were later hosted inside the Palace of the Alaafin. Present at the historic event were more than 30 Obas that accompanied the new Ooni, which included the Timi of Ede, Owa Ajero of Ijero, Ore of Otun Ekiti, Orangun of Ila, Akinrun of Ikirun, Aragbiji of Iragbiji and Elerin of Erin Osun No doubt, this rare gesture of the Ooni of Ife showed he is truly a simple monarch and the arrow head for peace in Yorubaland. .. And it futher shows he has not been on the throne for any rivalry. Indeed he is a peacemaker. Kabiyesi oooo Long reign the Alaafin of Oyo, Iku baba yeye. Long reign the Ooni of Ife, the Aarole Odua. Long reign to Yoruba land in general. http://thenationonlineng.net/475503-2/ cc: lalasticlala, seun, ishlove, fynestboi, odumchi, Fulaman198, bigfrancis21.

It's no longer a news, that the head of International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde visited Nigeria few days ago, just like she did in 2011. The IMF boss was received in Abuja by the Finance Minister Mrs. Kemi Adeosun and CBN governor Mr. Godwin Emefiele, at the international airport. But ever since the visit, News have continued to trail the Hilarious look on the Nigerian Minister of Finance's face, Mrs Adeosun, unlike during Okonjo Era. Mrs Kemi adeosun looked so clueless and peeping like a student wey no sabi book! Just looking at Madame Christine like she gat no idea of what is being discussed. The Inferiority complex is heavily noticed. Okonjo and the IMF woman are familiar with each other and of near age, while Kemi is on a different set. ggirl4real:Can you imagine! Shameful on the part of a whole University. Have seen a friend, who is a University scholar that is presently leading a faculty too. By provision, he is entitled to 90K and a free accommodation. Till today, he has not been given a dine.. He was a D.E student, meaning he is being owned 200L and 300L, now he is in 400L and no show of 180k (2 Academic sessions). They keep posting him, now the lie is about Buhari TSA account, from Exams Records to Bursary. Sometimes i just can't imagine what message are our Leaders passing, even in Academics. No Moral! Why won't a first class graduate turn into cybercrime. It's frustrating! Well i pity those presently in schools, particularly the poor/indigent and brilliants student. They are not making Academic Excellence, a thing to crave for at all. May God help us sha! |
FxDuke:May God help us! |
Demmocrats:lol! The guy was 30 when he married her... A Uniben trained Dentist! |
toprealman:NO! The post is not preaching that, but admonishing folks to have a second plan or back up plan. Most of those stories of where you can work after school are sheer fantasy. You would be shock that many undergraduates are still casting hope in the air about one Multinational jobs, one oil company jobs and the likes... Yes, this jobs are there but only a handful few would take it. The more connected you are, the brighter your chances.. Once again, i would still tell them to be guided! |
Morning business Appetizer! Good one.... a great way to start something. Never underestimate what u can do with just 10k and your fone, u can do a lot. |
