Reno Omokri Extols Orji Kalu as a Corporate Giant Employing 15,000 Africans, Calls Him a National Treasure

-- In His Words:

Yesterday, I visited a great Nigerian patriot and leader. A man who is a pillar of good governance, with strong democratic credentials. A Doyen of the Senate, former Governor of Abia State, Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

Unbeknownst to many Nigerians, Senator Kalu is a behemoth in the corporate sector, employing 15,000 people, mainly in Nigeria, and also in other African nations.

He is an epitome of the grit, determination, and hard work we see in many people of Nigerian descent, especially amongst the blessed, and enterprising people of Ndi'Igbo.

I thank God that He created Mr Kalu and made him a Nigerian, for the benefit of our nation and the African continent.

May God bless Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, his family, and the work of his hands. May God also bless Nigeria!

Kalu to Omokri: Respect Igbos, Promote Togetherness, Not Division

‎The Chairman Senate Committee on Southeast Development Commission, SEDC, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu earlier today received Reno Omokri who is an ambassador designate appointed by President Tinubu and approved by the 10th Senate in Aso Villa residence Abuja
‎
‎During the visit, Kalu was seen in a video which he shared through his Facebook page advising Reno to stop speaking against the Igbo race, because they're egalitarian, ubiquitous, versatile and are most importantly the salt of the nation.
‎
‎Kalu while speaking told Reno that right inside his village in Delta State, Igbos from different states and dialects could be found.
‎
‎The former Governor of Abia, Kalu admonished that Reno being a very kind and very good friend of his should preach about what will bring unity, while emulating and imbibing the traits of President Tinubu who make friends across tribal boundaries
‎
‎"Don't attack the Igbos again. They are your friends, we are the salt of this nation and we are friendly to every tribe. If you go to your village in Delta State, Igbos are living there. Whether they are Igbos of Delta or Igbos of Onitsha, Igbere, Abia or Imo, they're living there in your village. You're my friend, a very good friend of mine. You people should build the togetherness of the nation. Behave like President Tinubu who built friends across the nation." Kalu said
‎
‎Kalu laid emphasis on the importance of being a loyal party man who respects leaders of the party.
‎
‎"Maintain that party affiliation, you're an ambassador of Nigeria, respect the party chairman, because if he is the state chairman in Delta, he can equally be a state chairman in Abia. I am a party man and I respect the party." Kalu stressed
‎
‎Kalu thanked Reno for working for President Tinubu which gained him the current appointment, while praying for Reno to excel in his new portfolio that Nigerians and his State will be proud of his exploits, while telling him to desist from attacking the Igbos.
‎
‎"I congratulate you once again and God will lead you to be a very good ambassador, that Delta State and Nigerian people will be proud of you. You're a very kind man, I want to thank you for all the jobs you have done for our president. The only thing I am against is when you speak against the Igbos. You know I am an Igbo man, however, a Nigerian from the southeast." Kalu opined
‎
‎"So, let your language now be Nigeria. I congratulate you once again for being passed by the Senate. You're a nice guy, continue doing well." Kalu asserted
‎
‎Responding to Kalu's advice, Reno said he has known Kalu way back in his university days in University of Maiduguri. Reno acknowledged that Kalu is a man who believes so much in one Nigeria, who is dead to ethnicity, tribalism and religion, which many Nigerians are not aware of.
‎
‎"Permit me to take two minutes of your time. A lot of people will not realize the level of respect I have for His Excellency, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, because if you look at his life, going back to his days in University of Maiduguri. This is a man that believes in Nigeria, a very proud Nigerian man. He is dead to ethnicity, tribalism and religion. A lot of people don't know about these things." Reno remarked.

Politics › Church Proud Of Senator Orji Kalu’s Service To Humanity — Bishop Eke by MightyCJ(op): 6:02pm On Dec 20, 2025
Church Proud of Senator Orji Kalu’s Service to Humanity — Bishop Eke

Bishop Silas Eke has said Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s conduct during the recent budget presentation by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, where he offered prayers for the nation, clearly reflects his strong Christian faith and commitment to Nigeria.

According to the cleric, the lawmaker has remained a patriotic Nigerian who loves his country and his religion in equal measure, describing him as a God-fearing leader who has consistently made himself available as a vessel to serve humanity.

Speaking in Umuahia on Saturday, Bishop Eke said the Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian and Pentecostal churches across Abia North and beyond were united in their appreciation of the former Abia State governor’s contributions to both spiritual and national development.

“He is an ambassador of Christ, not only in words but in his projects and performance. He is God-fearing, and God will not abandon him. The Church will also not abandon him,” the cleric said.

The bishop highlighted Senator Kalu’s extensive support for church growth and theological education, noting that he built hostels for seminaries and theological schools to support the training of future church leaders.

He further listed the senator’s role in the construction and rehabilitation of several church facilities, including the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN) Ohafia Central at Elu Ohafia, the tarring of the Mater Dei Cathedral in Umuahia, as well as support for the PCN in Igbere and other worship centres across Abia North.

Beyond church-related interventions, Bishop Eke said Senator Kalu’s broader achievements in education, infrastructure and human capital development had endeared him to communities across the senatorial district. These, he noted, include the construction and renovation of classroom blocks, provision of desks and learning materials for schools, scholarships and educational support for students, as well as facilitation of investments that have created jobs and boosted local economies.

According to the bishop, these interventions have translated into tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary people, regardless of religious or political affiliation.

“The Church is truly proud of him because his service cuts across faiths and communities. He has shown that leadership is about sacrifice, compassion and service to humanity,” Bishop Eke added.

Faith Before Figures: Senator Orji Kalu Opens Tinubu’s Budget Session with Prayer

It was a significant time as Senator Orji Uzor Kalu was called up by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, to lead the prayer during President Bola Tinubu’s 2026 budget presentation to a joint session of the National Assembly. As the room fell into a hush, Senator Kalu stood with humility and grace, ready to offer a prayer that would set the tone for the important proceedings ahead.

"Let us bow our heads in prayer," Senator Kalu began, his voice resonating with a deep sense of reverence. "Heavenly Father, we come before you today with hearts full of gratitude for the opportunity to gather and deliberate on the future of our great nation. We ask for your guidance and wisdom to lead us through this time of budget presentation, and we lift up President Bola Tinubu to you, asking for your continued blessing and insight as he leads our country."

"We pray, Lord, that you grant President Tinubu the wisdom to discern the needs of our people and the courage to make decisions that will positively impact the lives of every Nigerian. May he be a leader who seeks justice, promotes unity, and works tirelessly for the well-being of our nation."

The sincerity in his voice resonated with the audience, who listened intently, moved by the depth of his words. Senator Kalu then turned his prayers to the people of Nigeria, invoking blessings upon both the affluent and the less fortunate.

"We ask for your blessings upon every Nigerian, from the wealthiest among us to those who struggle to find their next meal. May we all be united in our efforts to build a better future for our country, and may we never lose sight of the values of compassion, empathy, and resilience. Lord, we pray for the strength to overcome adversity and the wisdom to embrace diversity, so that Nigeria may truly be a beacon of hope and progress."

With each word, Senator Kalu's prayer seemed to weave a tapestry of hope and optimism, infusing the room with a sense of solidarity and purpose. His final words resonated with unwavering faith, as he invoked the power of Christ to guide the destiny of Nigeria.

"We place our trust in you, O Lord, and we pray that through your grace, Nigeria will emerge as a great and prosperous nation. May our leaders be inspired by your teachings, and may our people be blessed with peace, abundance, and unity. We offer this prayer through Christ our Lord, amen."

As the final words echoed through the chamber, a profound sense of reverence filled the room. Senator Kalu's prayer had not only set the stage for President Tinubu's budget presentation but had also reminded all present of the enduring power of faith and hope in shaping the destiny of a nation.

ABIA 2027: Gov Otti Desperate To Join APC After Sensing Embarrassing Defeat— APC Chieftain

A member of Renewed Hope Partners in Abia State, Hon. Solomon Nwokeukwu, has accused Governor Alex Otti of desperation to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) after, according to him, sensing an imminent defeat in the 2027 general election.

Nwokeukwu said the governor had lost credibility and public trust, recalling that Otti once vowed never to join the APC but is now “running from pillar to post” in a bid to secure entry into the party.

He alleged that while Otti’s supporters were attacking the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, the governor was quietly lobbying party leaders in Lagos and the Presidency to facilitate his defection.

He maintained that even if the governor succeeds in joining the APC, it would not guarantee a ticket, stressing that the party would still conduct a governorship primary to determine its candidate in Abia State.

The Renewed Hope Partners member also launched a scathing attack on the administration, accusing it of presiding over what he described as “a government of propaganda, lies, and deceit,” adding that the gap between official claims and realities on the ground continues to widen.

According to him, the administration has little to show for the billions it claimed to have spent on capital projects since he was elected in 2023. Instead, he alleged that residents are being offered “façades and photo opportunities” rather than tangible progress.

“With that kind of money, Abia should be witnessing landmark projects. But what we see are old buildings repainted and paraded as new health centres, inflated road contracts, and ICT training being passed off as capital expenditure,” he said.

He cautioned that Otti risks being remembered as a one-term governor, alleging that the administration spends as much as ₦4 billion to construct a kilometre of road. “In the end, Otti is proving worse than the politicians he once condemned for corruption and waste,” he said.

Politics › Tinubu And Kalu: An Analysis Of Trust, History, And Shared Purpose by MightyCJ(op): 3:54pm On Dec 13, 2025
Tinubu and Kalu: An Analysis of Trust, History, and Shared Purpose

The public relationship between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is not based on momentary political convenience. It is a relationship built over decades, shaped by shared experiences, tested by political differences, and sustained by mutual respect. When President Tinubu congratulated Senator Kalu on his 65th birthday on April 21, 2025, he did more than send goodwill wishes. He reminded Nigerians of a political bond rooted in history, service, and a common belief in Nigeria’s progress.

Both men belong to what is often called the “Class of ’99” governors — leaders who emerged at a critical moment in Nigeria’s history. In 1999, Nigeria returned to democratic rule after years of military governance. Those elected at that time were not just politicians; they were nation-builders tasked with stabilizing democracy, rebuilding institutions, and restoring public confidence. Tinubu, as Governor of Lagos State, and Kalu, as Governor of Abia State, faced different local challenges, but they shared the same national burden.

This shared origin matters. Leaders who pass through defining historical moments together often develop a deep understanding of each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and values. Tinubu and Kalu worked in different regions and political camps at various times, yet they remained connected by a common commitment to democracy and governance. This long history explains why trust exists between them today.

One major reason Tinubu believes in Kalu is consistency. Over the years, Kalu has remained actively engaged in Nigeria’s political and economic life. From his time as governor to his role in the National Assembly, he has stayed relevant, vocal, and involved. Even when political winds changed, Kalu did not retreat from public life or national discourse. For leaders like Tinubu, consistency is a sign of reliability.

Tinubu’s public praise of Kalu’s patriotism reflects this view. Patriotism, in this context, does not mean perfection or agreement on every issue. It means putting the country above personal grievances and political rivalry. Tinubu acknowledged that they have had political differences, yet their respect for each other endured. This ability to disagree without becoming enemies is rare in Nigerian politics and forms the foundation of genuine trust.

Another important factor is Kalu’s entrepreneurial background. President Tinubu has consistently emphasized the importance of private enterprise, economic productivity, and job creation. Kalu’s establishment of Slok Holding and his investments in banking and media align with this philosophy. These ventures did not only generate personal wealth; they created jobs and contributed to Nigeria’s economic ecosystem.

For Tinubu, who has always advocated for economic reforms driven by private sector participation, Kalu represents a political leader who understands business, risk-taking, and economic growth. This shared belief in enterprise-driven development strengthens their alignment. Tinubu sees in Kalu a partner who understands that governance and economic productivity must work together.

On the other side, Kalu’s belief in Tinubu is equally grounded in experience. Tinubu’s political journey, especially his role in strengthening opposition politics and later building national coalitions, has demonstrated strategic thinking and resilience. Leaders like Kalu respect strength that is earned over time. Tinubu’s rise to the presidency was not accidental; it was the result of decades of planning, alliances, and political endurance.

Kalu has witnessed Tinubu’s evolution from a regional leader to a national figure. That familiarity breeds confidence. Kalu understands Tinubu’s leadership style, his decision-making process, and his long-term vision for Nigeria. This makes cooperation easier because expectations are clear.

Their relationship is also sustained by personal qualities. Tinubu described Kalu as resilient and generous. These traits matter in politics, where setbacks are frequent and alliances are tested. Kalu’s resilience — shown through political comebacks and sustained relevance — signals mental toughness. His generosity, often reflected in philanthropy and political support for others, builds goodwill across political divides.

Trust in politics is often based on predictability. Tinubu and Kalu believe in each other because they know how the other is likely to act under pressure. This predictability does not mean rigidity; it means integrity. Even when they do not agree, they can anticipate each other’s actions and motivations.

The birthday message also highlights something deeper: mutual recognition. Tinubu did not merely acknowledge Kalu’s age; he celebrated his contributions to Nigeria’s “economic and political tapestry.” This phrase suggests that Tinubu sees Kalu as part of the larger national story, not just as an individual politician. Recognition at this level builds loyalty and reinforces belief.

Religion and values also play a subtle role. Tinubu’s prayer for Kalu’s strength, wisdom, and continued service reflects shared cultural and spiritual values common among Nigerian leaders. Such expressions reinforce bonds beyond politics, appealing to shared humanity and responsibility.

Importantly, their belief in each other sends a message to Nigeria. It shows that long-term relationships, built on respect and service, can survive political competition. It suggests that unity among experienced leaders is possible, even in a divided political environment.

Experience Over Experiment: Why Orji Kalu’s Legislative Ingenuity Must Not Be Traded Come 2027

-- By OUK Frontiers

As Abia North approaches the democratically decisive 2027 Senatorial Election, with political infants scrambling for relevance and monitoring every legislative move of Senator Orji Kalu in hopes of capitalizing on them for their campaigns and manifestos, having already revealed the depth of their political emptiness, one truth stands firmly beyond political sentiment: experience is irreplaceable, and proven performance must never be exchanged for uncertain experimentation. In Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Abia North has not merely had a representative; it has had a seasoned legislator whose depth, reach, and results speak louder than campaign promises.

From Arochukwu to Bende, across the prestigious communities of Ohafia, through the industrious lands of Isuikwuato, and down to the growing pacific corridors of Umunneochi, Senator Orji Kalu has touched lives through visible, grounded, and strategic development. His tenure thus far has been defined by projects that are not just numerous, but immeasurable in their long-term impact.

In education, he has expanded access to learning with classroom blocks, scholarships, and gargantuan educational support initiatives that empower the next generation of leaders. In agriculture, Senator Kalu has strengthened rural farmers through inputs, training, and support systems that boost production and stimulate agrarian prosperity. His commitment to rural road infrastructure has revived once forgotten communities, opening up corridors for trade, connecting farmers to markets, and enhancing the economic pulse of Abia North.

What distinguishes Orji Kalu is not only the volume of his projects but the bold philosophy behind them, development that is people-centered, community-rooted, and strategically aligned with the needs of each LGA. His legislative brilliance, honed through years of national visibility, leadership roles, and unmatched institutional understanding, positions him far above the realm of political trial and error.

Abia North cannot afford to gamble with its future. In a period where Nigeria’s political milieu demands competence, stability, and tested capacity, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu stands as the most reliable, most experienced, and most visionary choice.

2027 is not a year for experiments. It is a year for consolidating progress. It is a moment for Abia North to uphold a mandate that continues to bring roads where there were none, development where there was neglect, and opportunity where there was despair.

With Senator Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu’s legislative superintendence, Abia North is not choosing a politician; it is choosing continuity, growth, and legislative ingenuity that has been proven beyond every irrefutable doubt.

Politics › Kalu Lead Senate Intervention Into Safe School Initiative Amid Rising Kidnapping by MightyCJ(op): 7:16pm On Dec 03, 2025
Sen. Orji Kalu Leads Crucial Senate Intervention into Safe School Initiative Amid Rising Kidnappings and Public Outcry

From Kenneth Udeh, Abuja

The Senate, on Wednesday, formally opened an extensive investigation into the Safe School Initiative (SSI), expressing deep concern over the programme’s failure to curb persistent attacks and mass abductions in Nigerian schools despite years of funding and policy commitments.

Presiding over the inaugural sitting, Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee and former Abia State Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, vowed that the Senate would unravel all issues surrounding the initiative’s implementation and ensure full accountability.

Senator Kalu noted that over 1,680 schoolchildren have been kidnapped and 180 educational facilities attacked since 2014, describing the situation as “unacceptable for a nation committed to educational development and child safety.”

“It is unacceptable that our schools remain soft targets for terrorists and kidnappers,”.

“We will track every naira and every dollar allocated to the Safe School Initiative. Nigerians deserve to know why, despite enormous investment and global support, our schools remain unsafe ”, Kalu said.

The committee will undertake a comprehensive financial and operational audit, engaging federal ministries, state governments, security agencies, and civil society partners.

Key areas to be reviewed include:

Utilisation of funds allocated since 2014

Deployment and effectiveness of security personnel

Early warning and emergency response systems

Infrastructure upgrades in vulnerable schools

Partnerships with international donors and private-sector contributors

Kalu stressed that the probe is not targeted at any individual or institution, but aimed at strengthening accountability.
“This is not a witch-hunt,”.

“We owe Nigerian parents the responsibility to guarantee that their children can pursue education without fear. We will not rest until we get answers ”, he assured.

The investigation follows fresh national outrage triggered by the recent abduction of 25 female students from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in Kebbi State, where bandits also killed the school’s vice principal.

During plenary, lawmakers questioned how funds for the Safe School Initiative had been used, given the unabated attacks.

Senator Yahaya Abdullahi (APC, Kebbi North), who raised an urgent motion on the incident, described the attack as “a dirty slap on the face of the nation.”

“A nation that cannot secure its children is not worth living in. This is a wake-up call,” he declared.

Former Senate President and Chairman of the Committee on Defence, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, also called for a full probe.

“Since schools are still not safe for our pupils, we must investigate the funds released and how they were utilized,” Lawan said.

The Senate presided by Godswill Akpabio constituted an 18-member ad hoc committee chaired by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. Members include Senators Tony Nwoye, Yemi Adaramodu, Harry Ipalibo, Ede Dafinone, Mustapha Saliu, Diket Plang, Binus Yaroe, Kaka Shehu, and Musa Garba Maidoki, among others.

The committee has four weeks to submit a detailed report and recommendations for overhauling the Safe School Initiative.

Launched in May 2014 following the Chibok schoolgirls abduction, the Safe School Initiative was designed as a government–UN–private sector partnership aimed at securing schools in high-risk zones.

Initial funding: $10 million

Funds mobilized between 2014–2021: Over $30 million

Federal allocation (2023–2026): ₦144 billion, according to the ad-hoc committee

Despite these investments, insecurity targeting schools has worsened, prompting renewed scrutiny.

Senator Kalu reaffirmed the committee’s determination to “re-engineer” the programme.

“Our goal is simple: to make Nigerian schools safe, secure, and conducive for learning. Nothing short of genuine accountability will suffice.”
The Senate’s findings are expected to play a critical role in reshaping Nigeria’s national security approach to education.

Between Controversy and Conscience: Fineboy Kanu, the Emma Powerful Debate, and Orji Kalu’s Noble Cry for Peace in the South East

By Stanley George

The discourse surrounding Prince Fineboy Kanu, brother to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu continues to intensify as various groups and commentators insist that he is the individual operating under the well-known alias “Emma Powerful,” the spokesperson associated with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). These assertions, repeated frequently in public forums, have shaped a growing narrative confirming Fineboy Kanu to the position of spokesperson. Yet, despite the strength and spread of the claims, neither IPOB nor Prince Fineboy Kanu has made an official denial.

What remains indisputable, however, is the impact of the statements released under the name “Emma Powerful.” Over the years, these press releases often forceful, emotive, and combative in tone have attracted criticism from observers, community leaders, and security analysts. Many argue that instead of promoting cohesion or providing constructive direction for the South East, the messaging has, at times, heightened tension, deepened fear, and contributed to an atmosphere of instability.

Critics contend that the frequency and nature of these pronouncements point not to regional interest but to personal or factional motivations.

For a region once celebrated for its enterprise, peaceful coexistence, and steady economic growth, these inflammatory releases are seen by many as having worsened the already fragile security situation. It has obviously become a family business of the Kanus’ as no business or work is directly connected to Prince Fineboy.

Against this backdrop, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has emerged as one of the few consistent voices calling for restraint, calm, and a return to dialogue. His recent statement urging South Easterners to embrace peace and pushing for a political solution to secure the release of Nnamdi Kanu has drawn praise across partisan and community lines. His approach reflects a statesman’s understanding that conflict cannot be resolved through incendiary words or escalating tensions, but through negotiation, empathy, and collective responsibility.

Senator Kalu’s leadership continues to resonate. In a climate where loud rhetoric often overshadows reasoned dialogue, his intervention stands as a reminder that the South East’s strength has always been rooted in its unity, industry, and cultural resilience. By advocating peaceful engagement and discouraging inflammatory communications from any quarter, he reinforces the fact that the region’s future depends on stability, not agitation.

As debates continue over identity, messaging, and motives, one truth remains constant: the South East needs more voices urging peace and fewer messages that risk pulling the region further away from the prosperity it once enjoyed.

APC Under Divine Scrutiny: Prophet Arogun Warns party on Manipulations, Sends strong message to Gov. Otti Ahead of 2027

In a dramatic turn of spiritual commentary on Nigeria’s evolving political landscape, the General Overseer of Light of the World International Church, Prophet Joshua Arogun has issued a fresh prophetic warning concerning the internal operations of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the political future of Abia State.

Speaking during weekend prayer gathering in Lagos, the prophet delivered what he described as “a message directly from the throne of heaven,” cautioning political stakeholders not to ignore the signs unfolding across the nation.

Prophet Arogun’s message closely echoed earlier predictions credited to other prophetic voices in the country, particularly highlighting concerns about the APC’s internal dynamics under its current national leadership. According to him, divine scrutiny has intensified over the party, and any attempt to impose candidates or manipulate its democratic processes would lead to automatic electoral defeat.

“Heaven is watching the process, not just the outcome,” the prophet declared.
“Any undemocratic means of bringing candidates into the APC such as imposition, manipulation, or forced consensus will trigger an automatic loss at the polls. This is a spiritual law already activated.”

He explained that the future of the APC in upcoming elections rests not on financial strength or political alliances, but on adherence to fairness, transparency, and respect for the will of party members.

Turning to Abia State, Prophet Arogun delivered what many attendees described as a precise and unusually direct prophetic message. He noted that the state is entering a phase of intense political realignment, where old and new power blocs will clash for dominance.

According to him, even if the sitting governor, Dr. Alex Otti, decides to join the APC, he must be prepared to undergo a full and fair contest rather than expecting an automatic ticket.

“If Governor Otti joins the APC, he should come with humility and readiness to participate in the full electoral process,” Prophet Joshua warned.
“There are long-standing leaders in Abia state with structures, deep grassroots loyalty, and the capacity to unseat him if he underestimates them. People like Nkiru Onyejeocha and Orji Uzor Kalu are deeply rooted with massive follower-ship and acceptance by the people.

He emphasized that the political terrain in Abia state would shift significantly before the next electoral cycle, predicting a season of broken alliances, unexpected mergers, and surprise contenders emerging from within established local networks.

The prophet concluded with a broader message for Nigeria’s political class, stressing the need for peace, justice, and integrity in leadership.

“Nigeria is the assignment,” he said softly.
“Only righteousness will stabilize this nation. Only fairness will preserve the mandate. Let those who have ears hear.”

The congregation responded with prayer, reflection, and palpable tension, as the message quickly circulated across social media and political circles.

Top Industrialist Dr. Henry Isiguzo Seeks Presidential Action on Nnamdi Kanu’s Release, Describes It as a Step Toward National Healing

Top industrialist and tech expert, Dr. Henry Isiguzo, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to adopt a political solution in addressing the case of Nnamdi Kanu, who has already been convicted. He described such a move as a strategic and unifying step capable of advancing national peace.

Dr. Isiguzo explained that Nigeria is navigating a delicate moment where bold and empathetic leadership is required to foster reconciliation and rebuild trust among citizens. He noted that a decisive presidential intervention at this stage would significantly reduce regional tension and reinforce the government’s commitment to unity and inclusiveness.

He stated that President Tinubu has the political wisdom and national outlook needed to champion a resolution that promotes peace and long-term stability. According to him, addressing the post-conviction status of Nnamdi Kanu through dialogue and executive discretion would help renew confidence in the nation’s democratic institutions and strengthen relationships across ethnic lines.

Dr. Isiguzo concluded by urging all political actors and stakeholders to key into the ongoing efforts aimed at appealing to Mr. President for executive intervention in the matter, adding that such collective action would further demonstrate a shared commitment to national unity and progress.

Mascot Uzor Kalu to Presidency: A Just Intervention in Nnamdi Kanu Case Will Strengthen Nigeria’s Unity

Abia State 2027 Governorship Aspirant, Chief Mascot Uzor-Kalu (MUK), has publicly appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider a fair and just resolution regarding the recent conviction of Nnamdi Kalu.
Speaking on the matter, Uzor-Kalu emphasized the importance of executive intervention in preserving national unity and ensuring that justice is tempered with fairness.

In a statement issued to reporters in Umuahia on Friday morning, Chief Mascot Uzor-Kalu expressed confidence that the President can deliver a peaceful and equitable outcome.

“The nation is watching, and history will remember how leadership responds in times like these. I firmly believe there is still room for a measured executive action that could restore hope and calm tensions across the region,” he stated.

Mascot Uzor-Kalu described President Tinubu as a man with a listening ear, capable of considering appeals that promote peace and national unity.
“I know the President as a man who listens and takes into account the welfare of the nation. I believe he can exercise the wisdom and discretion necessary to address sensitive matters constructively,” he said.

He further highlighted the need for dialogue and reconciliation in handling high-profile cases, stressing that the judicial outcome, while binding, should not preclude the exercise of executive discretion in the interest of national harmony.

“Our democracy is strongest when our leaders act with wisdom and compassion. It is not about undermining the judiciary; it is about ensuring that equity also reflects the broader values of peace and unity,” MUK added.

The political figure also called on stakeholders across the Southeast and the nation at large to remain calm and patient as discussions progress.

“There is still hope. Hope that leadership at the highest level can intervene constructively to prevent further polarization. Let us engage with reason, dialogue, and respect for the rule of law,” he affirmed.
“Now that the judicial process is concluded, let us pursue the political and diplomatic process to resolve and conclude this matter. All unnecessary ulterances MUST stop; let's focus on dialogue”.

A Call for Healing: Hon. Ikwechegh Urges President Tinubu to Grant Clemency to Nnamdi Kanu for National Unity

AN OPEN LETTER TO MR PRESIDENT

Dear Mr President

This is a time to unite our country; this is a time to heal our nation. Everything seems to be in disarray.
We are witnessing the needless killings of both Muslims and Christians across the country.
We are seeing growing disregard for Nigeria by global leaders, with unsettling conversations about the possibility of external invasion.
We continue to endure persistent hardship that weighs heavily on our citizens.
And the political tension consuming major opposition parties—PDP, Labour, and others—has only deepened the national unease.

It is perceptible even to the blind that there is tension in the land. Yet, in moments like this, leadership becomes the anchor of hope. The only person capable of reuniting this nation and placing her once again on a progressive path is the President and Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Let us remember the labour of our heroes past. Let us keep this country united and commit ourselves to healing our land.

My humble and sincere appeal to Mr President is to grant pardon to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Clemency at this moment will not only quell the security tension in the country, particularly in the South-East, but will also draw his supporters closer to the leadership of Mr President—the father of this great nation.

Let us preserve our unity so that Nigeria remains strong enough to confront anyone who intends to undermine our sovereignty.

APC to Abia Govt: Emulate Tinubu’s Transparency — Declare Your Project Costs

The Abia state chapter of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) calls on Labour Party led Abia Government to emulate the APC-led Federal Government by transparently declaring the cost of all ongoing and completed projects.

The Federal Government has just released the full list of roads and flyovers slated for repair, including the cost of each project and the length of the roads involved. This is the level of openness that promotes public trust.

The Abia APC believes that making project costs public strengthens accountability, builds confidence, and ensures that government remains answerable to the people.

Unfortunately, the Labour Party Led Abia Government appears to have adopted secrecy regarding the cost of projects as an official policy. This has left Abians in the dark about how their resources are being used.

The projects Recently Approved by the Federal Executive Council (6th November 2025) all have all the acceptable tenets of transparency that is required in leadership and the use of public funds.

They are:-

1. Sokoto–Badagry Coastal Superhighway Section 3
163 km (Badagry → Ogun-Oyo border)
₦553 billion (₦3.39 bn/km, full concrete)

2. Ota–Idiroko Section I + Flyover
14 km road + 509 m flyover, Ogun
₦98 bn (road) + ₦23 bn (flyover) = ₦121 billion total

3. Ijebu Igbo–Etapa–Owoyen Road
37 km (Ogun-Oyo link, +7 km added)
₦53 billion (from ₦13 bn original)
307% increase, now full concrete with upgraded base.

4. Lagos–Ibadan Expressway Phase II Section II
Fresh award: ₦43.73 billion
Includes underpasses, ramps, and side roads.

5. Ilorin–Omu Aran–Egba Road Phase I
31 km (out of 207 km), Kwara
₦43 billion

6. Wasasa–Turunku–Mararaba Phase II
42 km, Kaduna
₦30.23 billion
Continues earlier 7.8 km section.

7. Enugu–Onitsha Road Phase I
35 km (OP Junction → Anambra border)
₦28.47 billion total (₦7 bn balance pending).

8. Mushin–NNPC–Apapa–Oshodi Dualisation
14.4 km, Lagos ports access
₦19.09 billion (up from ₦11 bn).

9. East–West Road (restructured)
PH–Warri axis + 3 flyovers + 2 bridges
Inherited ₦156 billion package
Two new flyovers (Abuloma & Refinery)

We therefore urge the Abia state Government to follow without delay, the trajectory of the APC Federal administration, ably led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and enshrine the doctrine of openness and resist the temptation of running a government of secrecy.

“After We Captured the Real Leader of Boko Haram, I Was Retired, Arrested, and Detained” –Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi Speaks Out...

In a dramatic and deeply revealing letter to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, retired Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi has shed light on what he describes as a disturbing turn of events following a major breakthrough in Nigeria's fight against terrorism.

According to the senior officer, after successfully leading an elite task force that apprehended key figures within the Boko Haram insurgency-including what he called the “real leader” of the terror group-he was not celebrated, but instead met with retaliation: compulsory retirement, arrest, and 64 days of solitary confinement.

Ali-Keffi, who once commanded the Nigerian Army’s 1 Division and served as the General Officer Commanding (GOC), was handpicked to head “Operation Service Wide,” a presidentially sanctioned counter-terrorism investigative team.

The operation reportedly uncovered not only the masterminds of Boko Haram but also a network of financiers, including senior government officials, military officers, and top financial institutions.

“The moment we arrested some of these individuals and started exposing the financial pipelines of terror, the backlash began,” Ali-Keffi revealed in his correspondence. He contends that powerful interests within and outside the government moved swiftly to suppress the operation and silence those behind it.

Even more shockingly, the General raised concerns about the tragic death of Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, Nigeria’s late Chief of Army Staff, who died in a plane crash in 2021. According to Ali-Keffi, the late COAS was determined to go after terror financiers and had endorsed the work of Operation Service Wide.

The General subtly implied that Attahiru’s death may not have been accidental, urging President Tinubu to revisit the incident and open a transparent investigation into both the crash and the broader sabotage of anti-terror efforts.

The allegations made by General Ali-Keffi, now in the public domain, have ignited calls for accountability. While the federal government has yet to issue an official response, the implications of his testimony are profound. If true, they point to a deeply entrenched system where fighting terrorism is undermined from within, and brave efforts to protect the nation are punished rather than praised.

Ali-Keffi’s whistleblowing has added a new dimension to Nigeria’s complex security challenges. His story raises urgent questions: Who truly benefits from the prolonged war against insurgency? And why are those fighting it from within the system being silenced?

Until these questions are answered with transparency and courage, the nation’s fight against terror may remain compromised—not by lack of will or strategy, but by internal betrayal at the highest levels.

He emphasized that this renewed cohesion will not only reinforce confidence among party members but also enhance public trust as the party works toward offering credible and impactful leadership.

As Senator Orji Kalu Leads Efforts to Strengthen Nigeria's Economic and Institutional Framework

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North in the Nigerian Senate, stood before his colleagues in the hallowed chambers and addressed the nation with a sense of pride and determination. Today, Nov. 18, was a momentous occasion as the Senate took a firm step toward enhancing Nigeria's economic and institutional framework. With a stack of bills aimed at transforming the nation's landscape, Senator Kalu outlined the significance of the legislative efforts and their potential impact on Nigeria's future.

The First Reading of several crucial bills marked the beginning of a new chapter in Nigeria's journey towards progress and prosperity. The Public Procurement Act (Amendment) Bill, 2025, was among the key legislations presented for consideration. This bill sought to improve transparency and accountability in the procurement process, paving the way for a more efficient and ethical utilization of public funds. With corruption being a longstanding challenge in Nigeria, Senator Kalu emphasized the importance of bolstering the nation's procurement regulations to foster a culture of integrity and fairness.

In addition to the Public Procurement Act (Amendment) Bill, the Chartered Institute of Cooperative Professionals of Nigeria (Establishment) Bill stood as a testament to the Senate's commitment to empowering cooperative societies across the country. Senator Kalu highlighted the pivotal role of cooperatives in driving economic growth and social development, and the bill aimed to formalize and strengthen the cooperative sector, providing them with the necessary support and recognition.

The National Palm Produce Board (Establishment) Bill was another milestone in the Senate's legislative agenda. With Nigeria being a significant player in the palm oil industry, this bill aimed to revitalize the sector and bolster the nation's palm produce output. Senator Kalu emphasized the potential of the palm oil industry to drive economic diversification and create employment opportunities, underscoring the importance of nurturing this vital agricultural commodity.

The Pre-Shipment Inspection of Export Bill, 2025, and the National Cooperative Societies Regulatory Agency (Establishment) Bill, 2025, demonstrated the Senate's commitment to enhancing non-oil export earnings and regulating cooperative societies to ensure their sustainable growth and contribution to the national economy. Senator Kalu reiterated the need for proactive measures to support non-oil sectors and diversify Nigeria's export base, reducing the nation's reliance on oil revenue.

The Bank and Other Financial Institutions (BOFIA) Act (Amendment) Bill, 2025, was the final bill presented for First Reading, signaling the Senate's resolve to ensure a transparent and resilient financial system. Senator Kalu emphasized the importance of safeguarding the interests of depositors and investors while promoting a sound and stable banking environment.

2027: "Tinubu, APC unstoppable" - Sen Kalu Declares, Backs Trump's statement on Killings says Action not one sided

From Kenneth Udeh, Abuja

Former Abia State Governor and Chairman of the Senate Committee on South East Development Commission (SEDC), Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will face no real opposition in the 2027 presidential election, describing the contest as “Tinubu versus Tinubu.”

Speaking to members of the Senate Press Corps at the National Assembly foyer on Tuesday, the Abia North Senator said the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains firmly rooted across the country and enjoys the overwhelming support of Nigerians, insisting that the President’s policies are gradually reshaping the economy and national security.

“Has he gotten anyone contesting against him? The election is Tinubu vs Tinubu just like Soludo vs Soludo. The President has no options,” Kalu said. “Our party is fully on ground and fully with the people. Nobody can say we don’t have the people on ground. We will continue to do what we can to help the Nigerian masses progress.”

Kalu, who also served as Chief Whip of the 9th Senate, said the National Assembly under Senator Godswill Akpabio’s leadership remains committed to supporting Tinubu’s economic recovery plans through pro-people legislation.

“Whatever is the problem, the Senate is more interested in making laws that will help President Ahmed Tinubu overcome the economic problems that our people are going through. We are focusing on redeeming Nigerian people to see that they eat three times a day,” he said.

Kalu on U.S., Trump, and Killings in Nigeria: “Trump Told the Truth”

Reacting to comments credited to former U.S. President Donald Trump on the spate of killings in Nigeria and America’s readiness to act, Kalu said Trump “told the truth,” stressing that the attacks across the country have claimed both Christian and Muslim lives and should be condemned without bias.

“If it’s a lie, then the answer is that it’s not a lie because he said the truth. Nigerians are being killed whether they are Christians or Muslims.

There are jihadists who just want to destroy Nigeria. We should blacklist them without pity so that they will be smoked out,” he stated.

Kalu revealed that he had personally discussed Nigeria’s security situation with two former U.S. Presidents one Republican and one Democrat and six sitting U.S. Senators, who, according to him, expressed readiness to assist Nigeria in tackling terrorism.

“Before President Trump says a word, the American intelligence community must have found out where these terrorists are located,” he said. “You can see that the Nigerian Air Force is already acting, possibly using information shared by the U.S. to bomb terrorist hideouts. That’s how it should be.”

While aligning himself as “pro-America,” Kalu also noted that part of the global instability today stemmed from the U.S. invasion and elimination of Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi and Iraq’s Saddam Hussein, which, he argued, led to the proliferation of arms across Africa.

“When you killed Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein, it became a problem because those people were maintaining their borders. After their deaths, light and heavy arms spilled all over the world and we are suffering from it today,” Kalu explained.

He stressed that contrary to speculation, the U.S. was not targeting President Tinubu’s administration, but rather the jihadist elements responsible for insecurity in Nigeria.

“Nigerians are clapping hands and political opponents are thinking that the U.S. is after Tinubu’s government No! They are going after the jihadists,” Kalu clarified.

On Party Politics and Defections

Commenting on speculation that Abia State Governor Alex Otti may defect from the Labour Party to the APC, Kalu said neither President Tinubu nor any APC leader had pressured anyone to join the ruling party.

“Let’s be honest, neither me nor other senators, Senate President or President Tinubu have ever forced anybody to join our party. I have met with my Governor; he is my brother and used to be my banker. Whether he joins or not is up to him,” Kalu said.

“But as for me, I will work 100% for the APC, campaign in the state and ensure that we secure victory for President Tinubu and every candidate of the APC.”

On the likelihood of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo joining the APC after his re-election, Kalu expressed confidence that the APGA governor would “eventually come home.”

“Soludo is a progressive like myself, President Tinubu, Senate President Akpabio, and the Governors of Imo, Ebonyi, and Enugu. He has no alternative than to come and join us it’s confirmed,” he asserted.

On the Economy: “Macro Economy Doing Well, But Micro Still Struggling”

Assessing the current state of the Nigerian economy, the senator acknowledged the hardship many citizens face but maintained that macroeconomic indicators are improving.

“As a businessman, I am feeling the pain too. The macro economy is doing well, but the micro economy is not. Foreign investors are coming in, and what is left is for this progress to trickle down to the masses so that people can eat daily and return to farming,” he explained.

Kalu said both the President and the Senate are working relentlessly to revive the economy and restore food security.

“President Tinubu has put his life into revamping the economy, and the Senate is also doing its best to ensure that Nigerians feel the progress.”

On Senate Stability

Addressing reports of initial moves to impeach the Senate President, Senator Kalu dismissed the tension as a “family misunderstanding,” insisting that lawmakers remain united in supporting the leadership and the national agenda.

“There were attempts, but we didn’t allow that to happen. We are one big family, and it’s not going to happen,” he assured.

Senator Kalu’s remarks underscored his unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu and the APC, his pro-American stance on counterterrorism, and his optimism that Nigeria’s economic and security challenges are surmountable through collaboration between the executive, legislature, and international partners.

Ben Kalu's Hopelessness And the Shameful Misuse of President Tinubu’s Name

By Dr. Onwuka Samuel
Concerned Member APC Abia state.

It is both shameful and deeply disturbing to observe how Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, has chosen to descend into political recklessness by brazenly exploiting the name of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his own selfish ambitions in Abia State. What he calls “grassroots empowerment” under the guise of inaugurating Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) is, in reality, a deceitful and illegal early campaign for the 2027 gubernatorial election. The people of Abia are not deceived. They know that Kalu’s showmanship is not service but self-promotion.

Kalu’s weekend declaration that he was “strengthening the grassroots pillars of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda” in Ukwa East, Ukwa West, Ugwunagbo, Osisioma, and Obingwa is misleading and false. None of the so-called projects he listed—the South East Development Commission, the ₦150 billion South East Investment Company, or the Port Harcourt–Maiduguri rail line—were initiated by him, nor are they within his legislative competence. These are federal policies and initiatives driven by President Tinubu’s cabinet and relevant ministries, not by a self-appointed local campaigner.

The people of Abia can now see through the smokescreen. His rented crowds and microphone-testing rallies have become a source of public irritation. Communities are growing weary of the noise, the traffic disruption, and the thuggery that follow his convoys. Rather than contribute meaningfully to governance or policy formulation in Abuja, where his office truly matters, he has chosen to roam Abia like a frustrated showman—disloyal, ungrateful, unlawful, and unbridled.

As a committed steward of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a believer in the progressive ideals of discipline, responsibility, and respect for law and order, I find Hon. Kalu’s conduct disgraceful. The Electoral Act clearly prohibits campaign activities before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declares the season open. Yet, a lawmaker who should be the custodian of legal compliance is the one leading the charge in violating it. This flagrant disregard for the law is both arrogant and hypocritical.

Even more disturbing is the way Kalu has taken his old South African habits to new heights of mass hypnotism and hysteria—roaming around Abia State with a magical rented crowd, using the presidency as his magic wand. Each of his so-called political crusades follows the same pattern: the same buses, the same borrowed faces, and the same exaggerated proclamations of loyalty to President Tinubu. But we in APC Abia do not like that. We reject this brand of political deceit that disrespects both the President and the party.

The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu is not a personal trademark for any politician to abuse. It is a national project designed to stimulate economic growth, expand industrial capacity, and restore hope to the Nigerian people. By turning it into a campaign slogan for self-glorification, Kalu has insulted the integrity of the President’s vision and created confusion among the public. The presidency must not be dragged into such lowly propaganda.

Hon. Kalu should be reminded that power is not a personal possession. His office demands restraint, dignity, and respect for the rule of law. To arrogate to himself the role of the President’s envoy in Abia is to insult the intelligence of both the party and the people. His conduct is not only premature and unlawful but also capable of inflaming tensions in a state that has enjoyed relative peace under its current leadership.

The APC leadership must act decisively to restore order and discipline within its ranks in Abia. Hon. Kalu’s reckless politicking, his unlawful rallies, and his false claims of presidential endorsement are injurious to the unity and stability of the party. Abia deserves better—leaders who lead by example, not entertainers parading hired crowds.

Power is a trust, not a trophy. Hon. Ben Kalu must return to Abuja, focus on his legislative duties, and stop disgracing the presidency he falsely claims to represent. The peace and integrity of Abia State must not be sacrificed on the altar of one man’s delusion.

The Kalu Brothers (Orji, Nanna & Mascot): Titans of Enterprise Before The Spotlight of Public Service

By Ik Ogbonna, fcai, anipr, MPhil

In the heartland of Abia State, Nigeria, the Kalu family has long been synonymous with resilience, innovation, and unyielding ambition. Born to Johnson Uzor Nsiegbe Kalu and Eunice Kalu, the brothers—Orji Uzor Kalu, Nnanna Uzor Kalu, and Mascot Uzor Kalu—emerged from humble beginnings in the commercial hub of Aba and beyond, forging paths of extraordinary success in the private sector long before the demands of politics called them to serve. Their stories are not just tales of wealth accumulation but testaments to the power of grit, strategic vision, and a deep-rooted commitment to community upliftment. Each brother distinguished himself in business and private sector before public service unlike what obtains today. They have through bold entrepreneurial ventures, turned modest starts into multimillion-dollar empires that spanned continents and industries. As of 2025, their legacies continue to inspire, blending private prowess with public stewardship.

Orji Uzor Kalu: From Palm Oil Trader to Conglomerate King & Political Iroko
The eldest of the trio, Orji Uzor Kalu, born on April 21, 1960, embodies the archetype of the self-made Nigerian tycoon. His journey into business was anything but glamorous—it began with a mere $35 borrowed from his mother in the late 1970s, after a brief and tumultuous stint at the University of Maiduguri, where he was suspended for student activism. Kalu later earned a degree from Abia State University, a Certificate in Business Administration from Harvard University and honorary doctorates from the universities of Maiduguri and Abia State. Undeterred, young Orji dove headfirst into the volatile world of commodity trading, sourcing palm oil from Nigeria's eastern regions and hauling it north to Kano for resale. What started as a survival hustle quickly snowballed into a fortune; by age 25, he was a millionaire, his sharp instincts for market gaps propelling him forward.
Kalu's diversification was relentless and prescient. In the 1980s, he expanded into furniture manufacturing with Ojialex Furniture Works, capitalizing on Nigeria's post-oil boom demand for affordable home goods. But it was his foray into crude oil trading that catapulted him to national prominence, positioning him as a key player in Nigeria's energy sector during a time of global flux. Recognizing the interconnectedness of trade, he founded SLOK Holding in 1988, a sprawling conglomerate that would encompass banking (SLOK Nigeria Limited), shipping (SLOK Shipping Lines), airlines (SLOK Air), media (The Sun Newspaper), telecommunications, insurance, and import-export. By 1998, when he stepped into politics as Abia State's governor, SLOK boasted a staggering $4 billion balance sheet—a testament to his acumen in navigating Nigeria's regulatory mazes and economic turbulence.
Beyond balance sheets, Kalu's private life reflected a blend of philanthropy and cultural pride. He sponsored scholarships for thousands of indigent students and invested in community infrastructure in Abia, earning the National Merit Award from President Ibrahim Babangida in the 1980s for his contributions to youth empowerment. Widely travelled and multilingual, Kalu cultivated international partnerships that bolstered his ventures, from European shipping deals to American real estate investments in the early 1990s. His pre-political era was marked not by entitlement but by a relentless work ethic, often working 18-hour days to build an empire that employed thousands and laid the groundwork for his later governance philosophy of economic self-reliance. His public service career started with the House of Representatives later two term Governor of Abia State and currently a two term Senator representing Abia North.

Nnanna Uzor Kalu: The Quiet Architect of Commerce and Community
Younger than Orji, Nnanna Uzor Kalu—often referred to as Nnanna H. Uzor Kalu—carved a more understated path, leveraging the family's entrepreneurial ethos to establish himself as a formidable businessman before his 2003 entry into the House of Representatives for Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency. Before the 2007 elections, Kalu left AD for the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), linked to his brother Orji Uzor Kalu. He was re-elected under PPA and served in the 6th National Assembly from 2007 to 2011.
Born in May 1964 into the same modest Aba household, Nnanna grew up amid the buzz of local markets, absorbing lessons in trade and resilience from his brother's early successes and his parents' emphasis on education and integrity.
Details of Nnanna's pre-political career are less publicized, a reflection of his preference for discretion over fanfare, but his business acumen is evident in his deep ties to Abia's commercial ecosystem. His ventures extended to real estate and import-export, where he focused on sustainable models that supported small-scale traders in Aba, the "Japan of Africa" known for its artisanal manufacturing.
Nnanna's private distinction lay in his role as a bridge-builder. He founded initiatives to mentor young entrepreneurs, drawing from his own experiences navigating bureaucratic hurdles in Nigeria's nascent market economy. By the early 2000s, his efforts had stabilized supply chains for local industries, earning quiet acclaim among Abia's business community. Philanthropy was another hallmark; he supported vocational training programs, echoing the family's commitment to uplifting the Igbo entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2025, his confirmation as South-East Commissioner for the National Assembly Service Commission underscored how his private-sector discipline translated seamlessly into public roles, where he advocates for legislative efficiency rooted in practical business insights.

Mascot Uzor Kalu: Global Visionary and Philanthropic Force
The youngest brother, Mascot Uzor Kalu, born in Aba, brought a global flair to the family's legacy, blending American education with Nigerian hustle to build a transatlantic business portfolio before his political debut as Chief of Staff to Abia State's governors in 2007. Educated in the United States, where he earned a degree in Business Administration from Spartanburg Methodist College, Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of South Carolina and Professional courses in high-ranking institutions globally, including certifications as a Certified Financial Planner and Life & Health Insurance License, Mascot immersed himself in the diverse sectors of the American economy—from hospitality to automotive—gaining the corporate exposure that would define his trajectory.
Mascot founded EUZOR Investment Company in the U.S., a private conglomerate that became his proving ground. Under its umbrella, he launched a Jazz Café that became a cultural hotspot for live music enthusiasts, Red Lion Tavern Restaurants offering upscale British-inspired dining, and Zey Motors Company, specializing in luxury vehicle imports and sales. These ventures weren't mere side hustles; they generated steady revenue streams, employing dozens and fostering cross-cultural exchanges that enriched his worldview. By the mid-1990s, EUZOR had evolved into a diversified empire with interest in Food, Nightlife, Entertainment, Logistics and Trading. With Mascot's compassionate leadership shining through in his support for immigrant communities in South Carolina. Upon returning to Nigeria, Mascot channeled this international savvy into local enterprises, co-founding the Sharlotte Group, where he serves as Managing Director and CEO, a private conglomerate with interests in: Oil and gas investments, Real estate (Sharlotte First Properties), Construction (Sharlotte Construction), Roofing (Charlotte Roofs Ltd). His pre-political life was equally marked by altruism; in 2006, he established the Mascot Uzor Kalu Organisation, a non-profit that has empowered over 10,000 youths through scholarships, skills training, and health outreach in Abia—initiatives born from his early observations of inequality during U.S. travels. Known for his humility and generosity, Mascot's businesses emphasized ethical practices, such as fair wages and community reinvestment, setting him apart as a "silent achiever" whose empire was as much about impact as income.

A Legacy of Private Triumphs Fueling Public Service
The Kalu brothers' pre-public service lives were defined by a shared ethos: turning adversity into opportunity, whether through Orji's commodity trades, Nnanna's steady commercial expansions, or Mascot's global hospitality innovations. Raised in a family that valued education and enterprise amid Nigeria's post-colonial challenges, they built empires that employed thousands, spurred economic growth in Abia, and championed philanthropy as a core value. These private distinctions—rooted in innovation, resilience, and community focus—not only amassed wealth but also honed the leadership skills that later shaped their political tenures, from governance reforms to legislative advocacy.
As Nigeria navigates its 2025 economic landscape, the Kalu brothers remind us that true distinction often begins in the quiet grind of private endeavor, where visionaries like them lay the foundations for broader societal transformation. Their story is a blueprint for aspiring entrepreneurs: start small, dream globally, and serve selflessly.
