Anambra Government Demolishes Homes Of Dibia/Kidnapper, In Ekwusigo LGA.

Ekwusigo, Anambra State – The Anambra State Government has intensified its crackdown on criminal activities with the demolition of properties linked to people allegedly involved in kidnapping. The latest operation took place in Oraifite and Ozubulu, both in Ekwusigo Local Government Area, where the residences of suspected kidnappers who also operated as a Dibias were brought down.

One of the affected structures was the former home of a self-proclaimed Dibia known as Mmuo, who combined his spiritual practice with a kidnapping ring. Another similar case was recorded in Ozubulu, signaling a firm stance by the state government against criminal elements operating under the guise of traditional healing.

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's administration has been relentless in its fight against insecurity, vowing to rid Anambra of criminals, regardless of their status or influence. This demolition exercise follows a series of security operations aimed at dismantling hideouts used for illicit activities across the state.

The Anambra State Government has repeatedly warned that properties linked to criminal activities will not be spared, emphasizing that the era of impunity is over. Security agencies have also been tasked with intensifying surveillance and intelligence gathering to ensure a safer environment for residents.

As the crackdown continues, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies, reinforcing the collective effort to restore peace and security in the state.

Indeed, Restoration of security in South East is feasible.

Politics › Top Abia Traditional Rulers Lauds Sen. Kalu's Transformative Projects. by MightyCJ(op): 11:40am On Feb 01, 2025
Senator Kalu Receives Accolades From Abia’s Most Respected Traditional Rulers For Transformative Projects.

By Ifeanyi Okali, Abia State

In less than two weeks, two of the most respected and wealthy traditional rulers in Abia State have publicly commended Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for his outstanding contributions to education and infrastructure development in Abia North.

The latest commendation came from the Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Eze Linus Mba, who described Senator Kalu’s efforts as unparalleled since the creation of Abia State. Known for his integrity, straightforwardness, and independence, Eze Mba, like his counterpart, speaks the truth without bias or favor.

"Your Excellency, my Senator, no senator has done what you did in Abia North since the creation of Abia State. You have made Abia North people feel the value of good representation in the National Assembly," HRM Eze Linus Mba stated.

The revered traditional ruler highlighted Kalu’s widespread developmental projects, which have significantly impacted lives across the senatorial district. He emphasized the senator’s major interventions in road construction, school renovations, healthcare, scholarships, empowerment programs, and solar streetlights, many of which had been lacking in the region for decades. He particularly noted that Ihechiowa, a community that had suffered neglect for over 25 years, is now experiencing the dividends of democracy under Kalu’s leadership.

Similarly, in an earlier statement, the Paramount Ruler of Ebem Ohafia Ancient Kingdom, HRH Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha (JP), also praised Senator Kalu for his dedication to the development of Ohafia. The monarch, who is also widely respected for his honesty and independent stance, commended the senator for constructing a modern classroom block at Evan Primary School, emphasizing how the project has transformed education in the community.

"We cannot thank him enough. His efforts to uplift our community are deeply appreciated," HRH Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha stated, urging Senator Kalu to continue his engagement with the people of Ohafia.

Both HRM Eze Linus Mba and HRH Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha are highly regarded figures in Abia State, known for their wealth, integrity, and unbiased leadership. They are not beggars who seek personal favors but rather distinguished traditional leaders who speak the truth without taking sides. Their endorsement of Senator Kalu’s work further solidifies the senator’s reputation as a transformative leader whose impact is felt across Abia North.

As Senator Kalu continues to execute developmental projects, the rare public support from these revered monarchs highlights the effectiveness of his representation. His commitment to infrastructure, education, and community welfare has earned him widespread recognition, setting a benchmark for leadership and service delivery in Abia North.

Nigerians Cant Take Back Power From Us Until They're Willing To Defend Their Votes And Even Die For It. -- Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

You can't win an election in Nigeria with mere sweet talk. No politician, including me, is ready to hand over power, especially because he is not performing. You can't take power from politicians, including me, if you are not ready to risk your life. You can't defend your vote and reclaim power by sitting in your room and writing about how the election was rigged.

PDP handed power to APC because they knew APC was willing to fight to the death and ready for war if they refused to concede defeat. I am telling you this because politics is my life. In fact, I have never done any other job except politics. I started politics in my university days back in 1989, so I know what I am saying.

Whenever I watch Nigerians, I realize they are not ready to take back power from us—the very people who have destroyed Nigeria.

ABIA NORTH: Delivering More Democratic Dividends Remains The Priority And Not Politics Of 2027. -- Sen. Kalu.

In His Words:

My focus right now is not on the politics of 2027 but on the people of Abia North Senatorial District and how to improve their lives because there is hunger in the land. I can’t be talking about politics when my people are hungry.

Though I appreciate all the endorsements from our people at home and abroad, we still have the mandate given to us in 2023.

My priority at the moment is to deliver more dividends of democracy, put smiles on the faces of my people, and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other patriotic Nigerians in tackling the issues affecting the progress of our great nation.

"OUR HOPE IS ALIVE" .!!

In One Of Prof. Chinua Achebe's masterpieces titled "The Trouble With Nigeria", the eminent African novelist and critic apparently opined that there was nothing wrong with Nigeria, He professed that the only Trouble With Nigeria Is "The Failure Of Leadership".

It is regrettable to mention that the challenges as highlighted by Prof. Achebe, in his masterpiece, has hitherto, remained unaddressed, creating a monumental room for unimaginable apathy, poverty, crime and terrorism within the polity.

However, in a terrain where the aforementioned is predominant, it takes only a new dawn, through effective leadership and Human Capital Development to effect positive changes.

We are determined to take our destiny into our own hands by addressing leadership failures which has thus far, failed to produce concrete results.

We must keep hope Alive and focus on the goal as every revolution capable of ushering in a new dawn starts from the mind.

EFCC Staff Disappears After Stealing “Over 30,000 Dollars” From Exhibit Room.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is enmeshed in another internal scandal as an officer in charge of Kaduna Zonal Office’s exhibit room allegedly absconded with over $30,000 and other valuable exhibits.

Earlier in January, the country’s flagship anti-corruption agency said it had detained 10 officers in Lagos over theft of operational items they could not account for.

Although the commission did not disclose the specific items stolen by the officials, Daily Nigerian findings revealed that they stole gold bars worth over N1billion as well as over $180,000 and about GBP 140,000.

In the latest scandal, Daily Nigerian gathered that a member of staff of the commission, simply identified as Polycarp, vanished into a thin air when he failed to account for “over $30,000”.

Insiders who preferred anonymity disclosed that the zonal director, Benedict Ubi, a couple of weeks ago ordered for an audit of the directorate’s exhibit room, following the internal heist that occurred in Lagos.

According to the sources, when Mr Polycarp received the directive that the exhibit room would be audited, he took an excuse to ease himself and fled.

“Immediately after the order for the audit was given, he took an excuse to ease himself. Efforts were made to contact him but all his telephone lines were switched off.

However, the commission had launched a manhunt to trace the fleeing officer’s whereabouts.

BREAKING: Enyimba Hotel Set To Be Revived Into World Class, As Abia Partners With Radisson Blu.

Aba’s once-iconic Enyimba Hotel, left abandoned for over 20 years, is finally getting a new lease on life. The Abia State Government has announced a partnership with the globally renowned hotel brand, Radisson Blu, to restore and transform the facility into a world-class, 5-star luxury hotel. The official deal is set to be signed on February 9, marking a significant milestone in the state’s journey toward revitalization.

According to Uche Ukeje, the Director General of the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA), the longstanding ownership disputes that hindered progress have been resolved. He shared the government’s ambitious vision for the hotel, promising not just a revival but an upgrade to meet international standards. “This will be one of the best hotels in Nigeria,” Ukeje confidently stated.

The project goes beyond the hotel itself. Behind the facility, across the river, a modern conference center will be constructed, while a resort and leisure park will spring up on the opposite side of the bridge, creating a comprehensive hub for relaxation, tourism, and business.

Governor Alex Otti, who visited the abandoned site in 2023, had vowed to restore the hotel and bring back its glory days. True to his word, this partnership signals a new beginning, with the promise of job creation, increased tourism, and an economic boost for Aba.

Residents and business owners in Aba are thrilled by the news, with many expressing excitement about the opportunities this redevelopment will bring. For many, the Enyimba Hotel is more than just a building; it’s a symbol of Aba’s resilience and potential for greatness.

As the project begins to take shape, hopes are high that this transformation will not only revive the hotel but also position Aba as a destination for business, leisure, and innovation.

Gov. Otti Vows To End Discrimination, Reiterates Transformation Of Aba Into A World Class City.

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has pledged to make Abia a home for everyone, regardless of their background, while outlining his ambitious vision to transform Aba into a modern city that will amaze both residents and visitors.

Speaking on Saturday in Aba during the wedding of Clement Owunna Jr., son of Starline CEO Clement Owunna and his wife Chinelo, Otti emphasized that Abia is a welcoming state where hard work and contributions to development are all that matter.

“Here in Abia, we don’t care where you come from. If you live here, work here, and pay your taxes, you are one of us,” he said.

Otti highlighted his administration’s commitment to inclusivity, recounting how he recently appointed a Head of Service whose origins had sparked debates. “This man came to Abia in 1999 during NYSC, excelled as the best Corps member, and stayed to serve our civil service for over two decades. Why should anyone say he doesn’t belong here? In Abia, merit is what counts, not where you come from,” he added.

The governor also painted a bold picture of his plans for Aba, promising that in just a few years, the city will be unrecognizable due to the transformation underway. “What we’ve done in the past 19 months is just the beginning—a dress rehearsal. In the coming years, Aba will be a city that rivals the best in the world. If you return here in a few years, you might not recognize it,” he said with confidence.

Otti revealed plans to revive abandoned sites, including the Enyimba Hotel project, which will soon become a Radisson Blu hotel complete with a conference center and leisure park. “We’re turning forgotten places into vibrant spaces. Aba is the heartbeat of Abia, and we’re making sure it beats louder and stronger,” he said.

He also shared his administration’s ongoing efforts to rebuild the city’s roads, improve drainage systems, and create an environment that attracts investors. “We want Aba to be the city everyone talks about—a place where businesses thrive and people enjoy a high quality of life,” Otti added.

Reflecting on his decision to leave a successful career and serve his state, the governor said, “I told myself, if I don’t step up, who will? I wanted a home I could be proud of, and I wanted to give that home to all of us. That’s why I’m here, and that’s why we’re doing what we’re doing.”

He praised Clement Owunna Sr. for his dedication to Abia’s economic growth, thanking him for his contributions to the state’s development.

Otti concluded with a heartfelt promise to the people of Abia: “We are focused, determined, and committed to using the state’s resources solely for the good of its people. Together, we will rebuild Abia into a place we can all proudly call home.”

ABIA 2027: Sen. Kalu's indelible Legacy, Unmatched, Deserves Replication Through Impeccable Synergy.

Senator Kalu's ineradicable imprints across the five LGAs that constitutes Abia North, evident in the completed and ongoing projects, scattered across the Senatorial District, is one that can unarguably, be best described as "Splendiferous".

it is not alien to every sane mind, that for the first time in the history of constitutional democracy, Abia North has witnessed unprecedented Development, ranging from Infrastructural revolution, Educational Rebirth, Human Capital Development, Agricultural Boost, Industrialization, Et Al.

Even more noteworthy, is the fact that as a political heavyweight within the polity and beyond, Sen. Kalu, has continued to enjoy universal admiration and uninterrupted support from the centre through Legislative/Executive Synergy.

Suffice it to say that as a team player, Sen. Kalu's unrivaled Legislative performance, evidenced by the Immeasurable democratic dividends enjoyed by the good people of Abia North, can largely be attributed to his sagacity, doggedness and competence. It further demystifies why he is Legislatively ahead in the Legislative business with the constant annual award as the best lawmaker, serving as a testament to the above assertion. Abi No Be Sohuh...

Interestingly, as the road towards 2027 gathers momentum, with Sen. Kalu's Legislative shoulders competently and unwaveringly high, having delivered on his campaign promises and still delivering, It is pertinent to complement his efforts with a sagacity personified, loyal and result-oriented team player who is in dire need of replicating Sen. Kalu's imprints within Arochukwu-Ohafia Federal Axis.

Therefore, As the political pendulum apparently swings towards Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu, the Indomitable people of Arochukwu-Ohafia remain optimistic in God's capacity and magnanimity to give power through the people, as it has hitherto, been incontrovertibly proven that "The Voice Of The People Is The Voice Of God" (Vox Populi Vox Dei).
