So, there is no need for any Sabbath: Jesus is the Sabbath of the believers. Those that claim to be observing Sabbath are not. They worship on Saturdays. They don't observe seventh year, year of jubilee.

On the whole, Sabbath is for the children of Israel as a sign but a reality to us.

The Sabbath was one of 10 commandments The Lord gave the Israelites through Moses (Exodus 20).

The Sabbath denoted rest from work on the seventh day; many believe the seventh day is Saturday (I am not contesting this belief).

Even under the dispensation of The Law (Moses), the Priests were exempted from the Sabbath (Matthew 12:5).

Moreover, the born-again is not under the dispensation of the law and prophets, he is under the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2). The law and the prophets was until John The Baptist (Matthew 11:13).

Now, if even priests under the old covenants profaned the Sabbath and yet were blameless according to Matthew (12:5) how much more blameless is the born-again in regard to the Sabbath, he being a priest and a king in Christ (Revelations 1:6; Revelations 5:10).

The Sabbath was a typology of rest in Christ; to the born-again everyday is a Sabbath - rest in Christ. The born again is free to work and do all things all day including the seventh day provided these activities/works are not sinful.

The Lord Jesus himself who is our Standard and Lord of the Sabbath worked on the Sabbath (Matthew 12:9-15).

The Sabbath was a shadow of the real substance which is Christ Jesus (Colossians 2:17) - Now we have Christ Jesus (the substance and reality), why do you want to hold on to a shadow?

Before then, though born into a Christian home so to say, I was no only attending on December 31st each year.
