So how come Christians that have been keeping Jesus Christ's sayings die? If all çhristians die not fulfilling the saying of Jesus, try and keep His word so that you don't die. The passage says, if a man keeps...' So be different and keep the word. |

NaijaGoBetter2: Tax reform is likely to bring additional challenges. Perhaps I need to learn more about it. How can the North generate revenue when it relies primarily on agricultural produce, which is not subject to VAT? Additionally, the presence of Boko Haram Haram and banditry hinders industrialization in the region.... By your logic, because of one part of the country that have been living backward, others should not progress. The Boko Haram of today is a product of miscalculation of northern leaders of yesterday. They believed that holding tight to power and suppress others will be forever. They welded military and political power games of head or tail you lose not only over the nation even among themselves. The elites suppress the talakawas. They edged out others from rising to the corridor of power. They were sacking people of Igbo extraction from the military preventing them rising to high officer cadre, killed MKO after winning the freest and fairest election. The South invested in human development in education, commerce, and vocational jobs, hardly can you see a northern mechanics, Masons, electricians, carpenter of high skill. See Europe and America , the children of the slaves of last century àrè ìn the corridors of power today. The core north that plotted this system is imploding now. Lukarawa Boko Haram, Bandits, herdsmen, products of the untrained children and urchins are plaguing the zone. We have to be realistic with the trending globally and move with time. Good luck to the north and their ineptitude. |

Politics › 5 Nicknames Nigerians Call Tinubu And Why by MightySparrow(op): 11:27am On Dec 02, 2024 |
Over the years, Nigerians have coined various nicknames for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, each reflecting a different aspect of his journey and influence.
These names are not just titles; they carry stories that mirror Tinubu’s political legacy, from his rise in Lagos to the national stage. Whether in admiration, critique, or humour, these names stick because they capture something unique about the man leading the country. See them below:
1. Jagaban This title means “leader of warriors” and is often used by Tinubu’s supporters. It symbolises his dominance in Nigerian politics, particularly his influential role in Lagos, where he is seen as a kingmaker and a strong leader during turbulent times.
A Nigerian-American professor, author, media scholar, and newspaper columnist, in one of his columns, explained that the name is actually Jagaba.
He said:” So, what does “jagaba” mean? Well, it’s the Hausa word for chief warrior, warlord, frontrunner, or simply a brave man. It’s derived from “ja,” which means pull and “gaba,” which means front in the Hausa language. A jagaba is therefore someone who leads from the front, which is another way of describing a war commander. In other words, “Jagaban Borgu” or the “Jagaba of Borgu” means the Chief Warrior of Borgu.”
2. Asiwaju Meaning “front-runner” in Yoruba, this name reveals Tinubu’s status as a political trailblazer. It reflects his ability to set the pace for others, showcasing his role in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape.
3. City Boy This Tinubu nickname has a deep connection to the urban hustle and bustle of Lagos, where he built his political empire. It captures the admiration and critique surrounding his influence in the city, portraying him as a figure intertwined with Lagos life.
However, it is also believed the title may be about the novel, ‘City Boy by Olajire Olanlokun’, or The City Boy by Herman Wouk (where Olanlokun probably got inspiration for his work). Both novels show the struggle of a young village boy who goes to the city to further his education and excels through hard work.
4. Emilokan This name originates from Tinubu’s campaign slogan, meaning “It’s my turn.” It became popular during his presidential campaign and captures the essence of his political aspirations, signifying his desire to lead the nation after years of preparation.
5. T-Pain American singer, actor and rapper T-Pain, born Faheem Rashad Najm, provided the inspiration for this nickname. A recent and humorous moniker, this name draws on the American musician’s fame while alluding to the economic challenges Nigerians have faced, particularly after the removal of the fuel subsidy. The ‘T’ in the name stands for Tinubu and the pain references the effects of the president’s economic policies. It reflects the “pain” many citizens are experiencing, adding a layer of irony to the political discourse. But his supporters have now repurposed the nickname to mean temporary pain. https://guardian.ng/life/t-pain-and-four-other-names-nigerians-call-tinubu-and-the-stories-behind-them/

Christianity Etc › Re: Deception Of Muslims On Nairaland When It Comes To Criticism Of Muhammed by MightySparrow: 8:06am On Dec 02, 2024 |
SIRTee15: A Christian brother called mightysparrow created a topic called Islam And It's Impacts On Modern Day Yoruba People. Note This thread was created by a Christian and not a Muslim. People will not believe that the topic has been moved to the islamic section where U have to say the Shahada before U can comment.
The question is why? How did a topic created by a Christian brother end up in the islamic section ?.
The trend of the thread extended to whether Muhammed was killed by Allah because he was a false prophet. I brought evidence from the hadith and Quran to support the assertion that Allah killed Muhammed by severing his aorta possibly because he was a false prophet.
No Muslim could refute my claim. All they yapping about was the so called richness of Arabic language and the pathophysiology of poison/aortic disease.
The challenge for muslims was why did Muhammed described the illness that killed him exactly the way Allah said he would kill Muhammed if he's ever caught lying.
Next thing I noticed was they moved the topic to islamic section so that the topic could be killed.
If Muslims are embarrassed by their Prophet, that's their business not mine or any other Christian. But they shouldn't control a thread not created by them by bullying or intimidating moderators to move it to islamic section.
There was no blasphemous statement against Muhammed on the thread. Everything we Christians wrote was deducted from their books.
Above is criticism and not blasphemy. Muslims should learn the difference. Criticising Muhammed is not the same as blasphemy against him. Most matured Christians here don't even bother about mocking their prophet or anything like that. We simply point them to the truth in their own books which apparently Muslims don't like.
Muslims should stop behaving like cowards and learn to defend their prophet and their religion. If it's the truth, they should not be ashamed of it.
Muslims are so embarrassed by the way and manners their prophet died they didn't want the thread alive anymore- they want it dead.
Imagine the deception. If U are so proud of your prophet. Why are U scared of his dark side?
Here is what the argument is all about just to let all of u know this not a case of blasphemy or anything.
