Rev 22:6 says

Note: the word "Jehovah" was inserted by New World Translation committee. Check the interlinear to confirm.

Two line of evidence pointing to Jesus are:

1. The person that sent his Angel to declare the message to his slaves is Jesus, not Jehovah. Read Rev 1:1.

2. The phrase "I am coming QUICKLY" is consistently attributed to Jesus in the book of Revelation, not Jehovah. (Read rev 2:16; 3:11; 22:20)

Let's start with the first point.

Rev 1:1 says in part:
A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place. And he (Jesus) sent his angel..."

Rev 22:16 add more proof.

16 “‘I, JESUS, sent my angel to bear witness to you...

So we see that even from the context of Revelation 22, Jesus is the one that sent his Angel.

What about the second point, "I am coming QUICKLY"?

From Revelation chapter 22 also, and even the whole revelation book, that phrase is used for Jesus.

However, chapter 22 identified who is coming quickly. Who? Verse 29 answers:

20 “The one who bears witness of these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming quickly.’” “Amen! Come, Lord Jesus.”

Therefore, Revelation chapter 22 contextually identifies Jesus as God, and also Alpha and Omega. (Verse 12, 13)

Any honest readers of the Bible would know that to deny the deity of Jesus is not easy. A lot of panel beating would be required to do that.

I am particularly not interested in the NWT of Jehovah's Witnesses for the fact it is too parochial and the writers identity and proficiency in Aramaic, Greek, and Hebrew languages is not known.

However, I must commend the JW's for making many Christians to read and study the Bible. I think Dr. Damina is also shaking the table and sending people to their Bibles.

I come from a Catholic background where we go to mass and listen to the priest' sermon on Catholic doctrines and teachings on Catholic Catechism.
To me, the Catholic doctrines and teachings make sense at the time because I do not know any better; and have not heard sound, scriptural and logical teachings in Scriptures concerning healing, deliverance, salvation, and the anointing.
Over the course of time, I took a master degree course at the University of Ilorin. It was at the University that God, by His grace, opened my mind to sound, scriptural, logical understanding of the word, and it changed my life.

Few years after my master's program, my mother would have contracted cataract of the eye, which impacted her health a great deal, as she was at many times on the road to get medicated glasses for her vision.

Seeing her condition, I talked to the Lord about it. I reminded the Lord that he had already paid the price for my mother's health. That she needn't bear that infirmity of the eye, since scripture says, "Himself took our infirmities."

After I and the Lord had discussed several times on this matter, the Lord began dealing with me concerning my mother's health. The Lord said to me, "You have read in scriptures that "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." (Psalms 107: 20) "

The Lord said to me, "Did you notice in that text that the word came before the people were healed and delivered?" He went a step further to say, "My mother had not heard the word preached on healing."

After that conversation, the Lord gave me three scriptures on healing to engage my father with so my mother can be healed.
When the Lord dealt with me on this, I had my reservations because I don't know how my father would feel, being a Catholic, when I engage him on healing scriptures, which I know of a fact that it is in his catholic Bible, but there's been no one to point him in that direction.

So, I told the Lord to help me in my decision to engage my father on this. The Lord furnished me the strategy on how to go about it.

One early morning, I got to the office early, and I called my father over the phone. I told him I want to discuss two matters with him, one is concerning my grandmother, the second is concerning my mother, his wife. Before the conversation I requested that my father brings out his Bible, put on his glasses, so he would be able to both see and read what I'm about to show him in scriptures.

When my father brought out his Bible, I told him to open and read the book of Matthew the seventh chapter, the twenty-fourth verse.

Matthew 7:24
[24]Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:


After my father had read that text, I inquired of him, I said to him, "Father, would you be considered wise if you do and act on the sayings of Jesus?" He answered in the affirmative.
Then I said to my father, now we would act on the sayings of Jesus concerning my mother health.

I then ask him to open his Bible and read the fifth chapter of James, the fourteenth and fifteenth verses.

James 5:14-15
[14]Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
[15]And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

After he'd read those texts, I explained to him that his wife is suffering from cataract of the eye, and that is sickness. Now those texts he just got through reading says, "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord."
I then asked my father the question, "Are you an elder in the church? off course! Came the reply. I said, then that text says you should anoint your wife in the name of the Lord.

Finally, I told my father to open and read the book of Romans the eight chapter, the eleventh verse

Romans 8:11
[11]But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

I told my father that the anointing oil is a symbolic representation of the Holy Ghost; and that the moment he anoints my mother in the name of the Lord, Paul inspired by the Holy Ghost says, the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead, shall also quicken her mortal body.

That scripture is not talking about the resurrection, rather, it is talking about the Spirit giving life to our mortal bodies here and now in this life.

When I was done expounding the truth of scriptures to my dad, I told him to do as commanded and his wife will see again.

An old, wealthy man was thinking of his unserious son and how was going to teach him a lesson. The son's idea was that he relied on the father's inheritance he would get and led a carefree life. When the old man was approaching his last days, he instructed the son that after his death, he was to pick only one thing out of all his properties. If he picked a kolanut farm, he could not take any other farm or a house, he could not take any other houses.and that his faithful slave should take the rest.

The wealthy man eventually died leaving behind a lot of properties of diverse sorts.
The elders gathered for administration of the will. The son asked the time in the meeting to give him time.
Meanwhile, the slave was carried away by the size of the wealth and was bragging about the village . The young son went to seek counsel at an old, wise man's mouth, narrating how wicked the father was.. The man counsel that his father was not wicked, he only wanted him to be sober for once. The old man now counsel that the son should pick only one thing: the slave! Whoever owns the slave owns the his belongings.

So, the elders gathered again on a determined day waiting for the answer from the son. He was to pick first and pointed only to the slave. The slave realizing the tenor of the the son's pick burst into sorrowful and shameful tears.

So, to translate the parable roughly, it means.

You don't call elders foolish because of your limited knowledge

If any other Yoruba person can give a better translation, I will appreciate. However, from the story you can figure things out yourself.

All the new waves of pentecostal churches are still green and wanting experience and traditions. Somehow as time goes on, they will evolve good constitutions. A study of RCCG about change of leadership has passed a generation but the future is not clear. I have been thinking of this. The same goes for GOFAMINT. All others are still playing. Deeper Life, Christ Life, and a host of them are still playing, not having any reasonable succession plans.

The same problem was encountered by Celestial Church of Christ. Many things sprang up after the death of Oshoffa, even not too popular Celica church. Cherubim and Seraphim today has five factions, CAC, has two, the initial body being a splinter group of The Apostolic Church. What is happening is still normal.

However, making retirement age for a minister of the gospel fifty - eight years is disturbing. On one hand, where does the fellow who retired start from? All his life, he was on transfer from one location to another, meaning, such pastor if he started a ministry in an unknown area he is starting afresh and only few people would know him. On the other hand he has used the prime of his age to serve in a place where he cannot be a stake holder- a used and dumped instrument. The still believe we have responsibility to our fathers' churches. They never forget the labour of our fathers, though many of us are no longer with them. I remember, the oldest of my father's children, an octogenarian, before his death, a priest would come and serve him communion bread and wine at home. That is a church that has generational plan. Living Faith Church seems to see their workers as mere contract workers.
