Politics / Re: Dave Umahi Begs Civil Servants After Locking Them Out For Late Coming (Video) by Miketomi: 1:22pm On Sep 29, 2023
Poorly handled by the minister. No need of having this meeting or addressing the staff.

Open the gate and let them come in, no need for this address, when they are back on October 2nd, a biometric access control system will be in place.

Screen and register staff, from that day onward, they have to clock in and clock out everyday. After six months there will be enough data to identify ghost and truant workers. You then implement appropriate consequence management.

There are readily available technology to manage the problem.

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
And what a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer

Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Na lie go kill una for that presidency. You told us earlier that nobody can nominate candidate for Buhari. See what governance has been reduced to in Nigeria. smh

It's like Nigerians are the most timid and docile people on earth to continue to accept these bunch of people currently occupying Aso Rock. I've never heard such type of explanation from the presidency, it's a pity

Highly ridiculous. Nigeria is probably the only country in the world, where government can never apologize for stupid errors.

APC/PMB, where is thy integrity?? smh
Politics / Re: Abdullahi Mahuta Shares His Jordan Trip Experience (Photos) by Miketomi: 11:47am On Dec 19, 2017
Getting there is simple.

With the aid of simple technology.

1. FUNCTIONAL DATABASE OF REGISTERED CARS AND OWNERS

2. FUNCTIONAL CAMERA.

Jumping traffic light is already an offence in Nigeria traffic codes, I suppose.

Travel / Re: Bribe Collection At Murtala Muhammed International Airport by Miketomi: 3:27pm On Aug 19, 2017
This is probably one of the most reasonable front page posts of recent. Nigerians need to cry against this national embarrassment until the government attends to it.

The way they beg is embarrassing and also security threat to the nation. Everybody is chairman or given some other extravagant title right at the airport just to lubricate their begging acts. Give them $50 and you can come in or travel out with anything.

My simple response to them is this " I am so sorry ma/sir, as a matter of personal principle, I don't give money to beggars", can I move please?

On paying for trolley, enough response already.

@lotanamm
We are probably at the same stage in establishing an LPG Refilling plant. If you are based in Nigeria, I advised you visit one or two refilling plants around your area. You will be surprised at the load of helpful information you will get from them.
The service hands at the plant can be very helpful.
If you feel free enough, you can inbox me mikebertola2002@yahoo.com so we can share experiences. All the best.
Career / Re: Did You Eventually Fulfill Your Future Ambition? by Miketomi: 8:59am On Feb 23, 2013
In my primary school days I had an ambition of becoming a Rev. father just to make my parents proud, then it was a great achievement if your parents are called Mama/Baba father, in my secondary school days, everybody around me (that forced me to believe) believed I am cut out as a medical doctor for the simple reason that I was exceptionally brilliant. After my secondary school, I discovered I will be more fulfilled as an Engineer/Lecturer/Motivational speaker. I followed my dream, graduated with First class (Hons) in Electrical/Electronics. After graduation, due to my grade, Lecturing came but I believed I didn't have the requisite industrial skills to be an Engineering Lecturer. I spent the first 3years of my graduation in Telecommunication industry, currently working as a Well Engineer in Oil & Gas industry (the money is cool!!!). Looking forward to fulfilling my dream as a Lecturer and Motivational speaker sooner than later.

Read the piece below, if this is true then we still have a long way to go

We at Intersociety are finally vindicated over recent fears expressed by our Organization that every indication pointed to the fact that President Goodluck Jonathan is searching for an amenable person, a willing tool for that matter, as the new INEC boss. The announcement and confirmation of Prof. Attahiru Jega, a well-known consultant to Prof. Iwu’s INEC, and his close ally, did not come to us as a surprise. When Prof. Jega was ASUU President, Prof. Iwu was his deputy, and when Prof. Iwu became INEC boss, he reportedly made Jega an INEC consultant, which he reportedly remained till date.,  ,

[b]Power generation output hits 3,667.7mw •As faulty transmission lines negate supply level

| Print | E-mail

Written by Samuel Ibiyemi

Hope of improvement in power supply to consumers in the country  brightened on Wednesday, as the nation’s power generation output increased from 3,381 mega watts (MW) to 3,667.7 MW. The boost in power output was contributed  mainly  by Egbin Power Station(795MW),  AES of Lagos State (207.7MW) and Agip Power Station at Kwale (426MW).

Information gathered by the Nigerian Tribune revealed that the increase in power generation could not improve power supply in the country  in line with the boost in generation capacity due to faulty feeders damaged by rainfall in some parts of the country.

The amount of energy available on the national grid of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) was also affected by  the breakdown of  Benin-Ajaokuta 330KV line  and Sapele-Aladja 330KV line that was out for rehabilitation at Sapele in Delta State.

Experts said the poor performance in transmission of electricity called for an urgent investment decision, so that the attainment of 6,000 MW by December 2010 will not become another failed project but lead to an improvement in power supply for industrial, commercial and residential consumers in the country.

The analysis of  power stations operating in the country shows that the hydro electric station of Kainji with four out of five turbines generated 187MW; two out of the three units at  Jebba -259MW and Shiroro -275MW. During the period, two units at Jebba were placed on standby for water treatment.

In the case of thermal stations using gas, Delta VII contributed 250MW to the national grid, Saple-95MW, Afam VI- 460MW, Geregu -139MW, Omotosho-95.9MW,Omoku-42MW, Olorunsogo-100.4MW and Ibom-34MW.

Politics / Re: Adenuga Pays Beyonce 2 Million Dollars For Daughter Wedding by Miketomi: 12:30pm On Apr 21, 2010
vicade:

It is his money and he can do whatever he likes with it- Black man mentality. The Likes of Bill Gates, Carlos Slim and Even some Arabs who are Ten times richer than Adenuga will never spend over 300 Million Naira for such a spectacle.

But it is his money and he can spend it however he likes.

Well said sir.
With this flagrant display of undeserving wealth, the younger generation will do anything possible except hard work to achieve same.
No wonder, corruption will continue to be entrenched in this nation. SO SAD.
Politics / Re: Adenuga Pays Beyonce 2 Million Dollars For Daughter Wedding by Miketomi: 8:17pm On Apr 20, 2010
akinsipe:

Anyone who gets to speak with Mike Adenuga should tell him to go bleep himself. If the story is true, then it's so pathetic hearing him bleep out two million dollars just for a diva's appearance in his daughter's wedding when his telecoms coy Glo keeps ripping Nigerians of their hard-earned money. How much has he giving back to his coy's many subscribers or how much scholarship has he giving to young Nigerians who are indigent. Truth is so many Nigeria rich men and women are suffering from the poverty mentality and are just a bunch of attention seekers. Have we ever heard the likes of Warren Buffet or Bill Gates spending that kind of money on a daughter's wedding even though they're a thousand times richer than Mike Adenuga? I won't be surprised if the marriage breaks up after a few months because whatever is built on the ephemeral things of this world will never stand the test of time. Marriage is more than having so much cash to spread around!
You took those words out of my lips.

Nice, excellent and intelligent analysis.
Sooner than later an average N/Deltan would realized the pains the so called warlords has inflicted on them.
Don't forget that most of these warlords had already made money from all sorts of illegal activities especially oil bunkering.

On behalf of the entire current SITP Trainees who were formerly active members of this great forum I tender an unreserved apology for our poor response to issues.
Well, the truth of the matter is simply lack of time. The Shell INTENSIVE Training Programme is really Intensive and stress-filled.

Back to issues raised as regards mails.

The first round of mails was sent to the unlucky/unsuccessful folks.

The second round of mails ongoing at the moment is to the likely successful candidates.
Very soon they will start inviting people for interview/assessment day popularly call SRD (Shell Recruitment Day).

Wishing all the shell hopefuls the very best.

chidipupay:

it is simple.

8 6 1
4 2 9
3 7 5

am i right?

Am afraid you are wrong despite SAM MILLA said you are right.

If you add along the left diagonal (1,2,3) you can't get 15.

The kernel of the solution is that  5 must occupied the central position as arranged by SAM MILLA.
There are other possible arrangement but 5 must be central.
Properties / Re: Why Pay House Rent In Advance? by Miketomi: 7:37pm On Jun 17, 2008
The advance payment is not really a bad idea.
However, two years advance payment is wickedness.
6 months to 1 year seems to make more sense.
