[quote author=frenchwine post=46585468]I would still repeat my earlier stance that it's embarrassing, the way the church leadership in Osun has comported itself in the face of the prevailing circumstances there. It smirks off as a woman who had been embarrassed by a guy she had boasted to be her own, only for him to publicly declare his love to another lady.
The church's reaction is more of bitching, it's uncalled for.
I am a devout Christian.
Shut your mouth..

EducationRe: Osun Students Appear In Church Garments by mikki123(m): 1:00pm On Jun 14, 2016
[quote author=maclatunji post=46564257]They will get tired. Hijab is part of a Muslim woman's dressing. Choir robes are not part of a Christian's normal dressing. However, they are free to display their lack of understanding and inability to stick to their religious teachings while we Muslims practise ours.

Hijab is not part of Muslim woman dressing.. Don't mix covering of hair with hijab wearing.
How many times have you seen Aisha and Zehra in Hijab?

Christianity EtcHijab: Christian Youths Allege Islamization Of Osun State by mikki123(op): 7:51am On Jun 14, 2016
The youths wing of the Christain Association of Nigeria,
CAN, Osun State, has noted that Governor Rauf Aregbesola has mapped out plans to erase all traces of Christians’ heritage in the state particularly in public schools.
In a communique issued at the end of their meeting and
signed by the state Chairman, Owo-Ofe, A.N, and the state
Secretary, Evangelist Timilehin Popoola, the youths also
opined that Aregbesola is already working towards a
process of Islamization of the state which they said was
earlier stated in 2012 by the Directorate of Military
Intelligence and corroborated by OSCAN in 2014.
The youths who noted that they would oppose this dubious agenda of Aregbesola urged the Governor not to implement the judgement of Justice Saka Falola which he delivered on Friday 02 June, 2016, that female pupils in all public schools should be allowed to wear hijab to schools without any harassment.

Jobs/Vacancies500,000 Teachers’ Recruitment Portal Crashes On Day One by mikki123(op): 6:36am On Jun 13, 2016
The recruitment of 500,000 teachers by the Federal Government might have run into a hitch as the website for the exercise crashed on Sunday following what was suspected to be massive applications by prospective candidates.

The Federal Government had, last week, announced that the recruitment of the teachers would commence on Sunday, directing interested Nigerians to apply through http://portal.npower.gov.ng.

But attempts by one of our correspondents to register on the portal around 6.48pm on Sunday failed as the website was not available.

Checks indicated that the portal might have crashed due to heavy traffic.

The website carries a message, “An error occurred. Sorry, the page you are looking for is currently unavailable. Please, try again later. If you are the system administrator of this resource, then you should check the error log for details. Faithfully yours, nginx.”

When contacted for the number of applications through the website so far, the Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Education, Anthony Akuneme, said it was too early to know the number.

He said, “The recruitment process is on. The website has been publicised in the media. It is too early to get the response and number of applicants since it just began.”

President Muhammadu Buhari had, in his Democracy Day speech, said the recruitment of the teachers would commence on June 12.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, also stated that the recruitment would be done online.

Akande, in a statement last Wednesday, said the 500,000 Teacher Corps, nicknamed N-Power Teach on the portal, was one of the three direct job creation and training schemes established by the current administration.

Others, according to him, are N-Power Knowledge, which will train 25,000 Nigerians in technology, and N-Power Build, which will train another 75,000 in building services, construction, utilities, hospitality and catering, automotive vocation, aluminium and gas services.

He explained that all trainees would be paid for the duration of their training.

Akande added, “The N-Power Teacher Corps initiative, which will engage and train 500,000 young unemployed graduates, is a paid volunteer programme of two-year duration.”

PoliticsBishop Kukah Says Buhari's Sickness Is Not A Jest by mikki123(op): 7:06am On Jun 12, 2016
Mathew Kukah, the catholic bishop of Sokoto Archdiocese, has reacted to the controversy caused by th ill health of President Muhammadu Buhari. He advised Nigerians to avoid making the health of Nigeria’s public figures a subject of political discussion or rumours. Kukah told journalists in Abuja that leaders of some popular nations of the world had serious health problems, which were managed to avoid undue public attention. The cleric stated that a former US President, Ronald Reagan, suffered from Alzheimer’s disease but nobody knew what the former president was going through. The man of God said: “ I do not think that the health of any Nigerian should be the subject of politics or speculations. “It is something I find so troubling because nobody does the things we do in Nigeria. “Reagan was suffering from Alzheimer’s and for the greater part of ten years nobody had the slightest idea, what was happening to Reagan.” “I think the question we should be asking is: what right do people have to express themselves?’ We are in a democracy and people should be allowed to express themselves because ours is a representative democracy. “There are representatives and if people want to stop being a part of Nigeria there is a process for achieving that.” “The second point is that we cannot speculate as to intentions and motives unless you legitimately bring a person to court and say why have you done X Y Z? You can only speculate. And I don’t think we should be depending on speculations.” Bishop Kukah said the Nigerian problems were partly because its founding fathers tampered with the provincial system government. The cleric further stated that another key challenge of Nigeria’s democracy was the lack of citizens’ participation in governance. President Buhari’s health became a subject of allegations last month after his repeated suspension of scheduled official visits as well as denials by his aides. On June 6, the Nigerian leader proceeded on ten-day vacation to London for rest and medical check-up.
