The gals o'er there at the mansion are not good looking at all, they're more like jobless mama-lets, lol |
He got himself confused in the first place. He was greedy, or beter still not content with what he had and thus complicated his love life with the office gal who'd do everything to steal you away for the other. young man steer clear from making a decision for at least 2months. allow youself to breath and let oxygen circulate your brain, |
@izeek, true story, boobs is always good, ![]() |
You're holding on to the office girl because you love her. You're holding on to the first girl based on sentiments. Will you marry based on love or based on sentiments? my 2 cents |
Thanks AjanleKoko for your insight, let me quickly point out something as regards ericsson, for freshers, they take mostly first-class graduates and put them in a management-trainee program. Before now, i worked in a telecomms firm in the NOC department with the cisco routers, billing servers and internet gateways, there i was a junior sys admin. Now I work in an ISP providing services using licensed RF/Vsat providing VPN links to corporate organisations and public institutions etc. I'm the senior sys admin also working in the NOC in charge of our Backbone infrastructure and all of our production and application servers(hardware/software). I took a course in telecomms last year/this year and i must say it's a very interesting field for me. I'm looking at taking a more comprehensive course in telecomms in India(5months course, cheap and good lecture delivery) because i really have a passion for it but i'm currently torn between going to india and forfeiting my current job. My employers are unwilling to grant me a 5month leave of absense even without pay so it's a difficult decision to resign and start job hunting 5 months later when i'm back in Nigeria. I'm currently being wooed by a lucrative career as an SAP consultant i'm currently making enquiries and spending lots of time in the NL "About SAP" thread. Now i know that tough decisions make a Man. ![]() |

Hey, i am tempted to suspect your DHCP IP leases on your AD server or whatever is responsible for dishing out IPs. if u can, lookup the lease period and try extending it to 1 week i guess. better still, if the computers in ur enterprise aren't much, create reservations for the mac addresses, or start with this troubleshooting tip, and let's know what's up;. PS - review your ISA server and make sure dynamic dns is enabled too. |

OK, since nobody's talking, i'd like to commission someone to lecture us on Exchange server 2003 deployment, from ground up,reference materials, class readings etc. any volunteers, /? |
Its been long, what's been happening on the thread!!!!!! |
i'm interested O!! highlight your experience wiff the software pls. |
Fellow sys admins and prospects, dont let the thread die, keep 'em questions coming, |
@FBS i need a fully customized version 2.0 eHyundai elantra with GPS and SatNav. I also need a 12 inch LCD panel that has port capabilities for my E71 phone and a usb port for me to watch my favourite TV series "24,gossip girl, Lost, Prison break". All operating systems should be open source!! |
@FBS thanks for the reply. Well, i deployed acronis yesterday and it worked fine. i particularly love the acronis management console coupled with the acronis server agent - this enables remote administration. i actually remotely cloned my Clarkconnect OS and replicated on another disk. It was perfect and effortless and at record speed!! another feature worthy of note is the robust nature of the boot disk created from within the util. when you boot the disk, it totally loads the full software unto your RAM, and u can run whateva utilities, and u can remove the cd cos its all loaded into memory. your OS-less harddrive can be resored to a fully functional system in minutes from an external harddrive or any other media from within the package that has a windows OS feel. they really did a good job. Now i can go to bed with both eyes closed as i will multiplex all my servers including virtual ones - (using acronis Universal restore). My pain wiff linux at the start was installing apps especially those with dependancies, Bros, where is my eHyundai Elantra!!!!!!! ![]() |

Hi fellow nairalanders, @Eng1xq, quite a rich collection of training materials u've got there, i guess anyone interested would have to part wiff some amount of money eh? If you notice this threads' trend, you'll discover we hammer on gaining the experience and less on paperwork. i beleive certifications are necessary but not paramount! for those of us that have proferred some levels of solutions to sys admin issues on the thread, we havent requested any remuneration, we do it cos its what makes us a family since no one is the custodian of "sys admin" knowledge. - "iron sharpens iron"sir, i'd advice your DVD series' of tutorials should be made available to members in the spirit of love that neccessitated the creation of this thread. i am also aware that those materials dont come cheap too. i strongly suggest we discourage public display of wares and sales on this thread for monetray gain. i beleive we should set up rules/code of conduct for this SACRED thread. PS: pls has anyone experience using ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE ENTERPRISE SERVER? i need a rating for this product and please share your experience. |
@xandu - as i was composing this mail i saw d post from sholasys, he's sure highlighted a few salient points. Welll, its true that a lot of offices have embraced voip as a way to cut down on cost (on the long run) for certain categories of calls. to your question:- concerning network performance degradation, well the converse is d case. Please permit me to explain some basics. Voip packets are transfered thru the network in continuous streams (synchronous) unlike data traffic which are bursts. voice packets need to travel without any breakages or interruptions, and they need to be assembled in the right order - this accounts for alot of incomplete sentences or inaudible words been heard if you've use voip on a low bandwidth platform before. VOIP packet need a priority to be set for it if you have a bandwidth manager deployed in your office network - this ensures that it takes priority over any data traffic because the converse is the case by default, and for a good 2--way conversation, there ought to not to be "JITTERS" (variable delay), so that there's a constant latency during converations. You'd agree with me that usually when we use the net, the network isnt doin much in terms of data packet trannsfers all d time e.g when we'er typing an email, except we're downloading. this is quite different for voice traffic, cos even when you're not speaking, continuous silent streams are sent to make up for the voids. Best practice is to speperate voice traffic if the network is really chatty. My advice is get a reliable bandwidth manager and set the appropriate QOS giving priority to voice traffic, better still UPGRADE your existing internet bandwidth, seek a 1:1 contention ratio and set a limitation on data traffic incursion. The effect on your network will be minimal, but the effect on your VOIP will be GROSS if adequate measures arent taken. i hope this benefits all, just my 2cents. !!!!Big up to this thread!!! |
@persist just download and install LAMPP which is XAMPP for Linux boxes. You can choose to install only the FTP feature and leave out the rest. It comes handy with an FTP server known as Filezilla which is pretty lightweight but gets the job done. Its easy to set up. and use on the fly. |
