Before you intergrate into the larger Nigerian context, I think it is good to identify the real issues why the Igbos are falling apart! You cannot move further unless you take it one step at a time. There lies part of the reason why the "intergration" process keeps hitting roadblocks or "marginalization" as some of you call it.

Can't be done! That is why I do not like this rotational business!  Let the best person take the position by the dictates of the people.  But in Nigeria, the people have no elective power and tribalism is every thing.  Also, things only get more fragmented in Nigeria not downsized!  I say we will soon have 45 states with 10 geopolitical zones!  It is a dilemma indeed!  Any solutions?

We have beautiful attires in Nigeria we can customize to use in any profession!  That Nigerian Nurses'/matrons' uniform is another one that has to go---very unprofessional! Our climate is hot and humid like some of you mentioned!  We cannot do anything about the English Language as a colonial influence since we have too many languages in Nigeria.  We cannot even decide on the inscriptions on our currency, is it a universal language we can adopt?

The English language is here to stay because it is the language of our institutions of learning. Tiill we have another language, if ever that happens-Please! Back to the attires topic!  I do not know why some people are fascinated with the wig and gown!  Nigerians do not even look good in it.  Their faces are black and the gown is black- no aesthetic appeal at all!  What has it got to do with the performances in the Judical sector anyway?  HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!  Maybe a lot!  May be responsible for the redundancy!  Need a complete overhaul please!  The wig especially is annoying on Nigerians!   Especially in the hot climate! I say it will get to everyone's turn!  Let all the government contract and money laundering activities finish!  Then people will know what the real issues are!  Some of yo will even be worse than Asari D. with your eyes red with hunger and empty pockets!   You can only have godfathers and godmothers for so long! People are dying all over Nigeria for lack of health care and lack of social amenities and some think Niger Delta hungry militants are Nigerians problems?  I am indeed arguing with children!

After Biafra, "Things fell apart"!  Too much seeds of discord planted among the ibos!  They have forgotten how to be one!  No longer place emphasis on education but trade, trade, trade-money, money, money!  If anyone told me that Anambra state would end up like thrash like it is now,  I would have sworn 10 years ago na lie! 5 governors in about 5 years!  Fighting themselves for bread crumbs under the dog's table!  I think that unity is lost for ever and "the center can no longer hold" since the Ibo pride is gone!

You can look professional even in our own native attires if you set standards!  I am not a fan of OBJ but one thing I loved the man for is that I never saw him wear a suit! Always in our traditionals--always neat and spiffy though ugly!

I agree that wig and gown got to go!  In America you don't see that mess because they believe in their individuality.
