Good morning everyone. Please I need a suggestion on this thing.
My sis has a diploma in Social work and has a bachelor of Arts degree in History and International relations.
Is there a way this degree could get her masters in Nursing or Social work...
She's thinking of masters as she is married with kid

Suggestions please

@mimilyrics @lagosismyhome
I believe she stands a good chance of getting admission for Social work

What kind of British curriculum are you talking about? Formal education in GB begins at age 5.

kenny1111
At age 3 a child is unable to think in abstract terms. Even if you drill the child to identify letters and numbers, he will not understand the concept behind them so take it easy. At this age teaching should be play-based and you should take advantage of the child's natural curiosity to discover the world around him.

Teach him about flowers, trees, animals, colors, food, cars, weather, the sun, the moon, the stars, anything that arouses his curiosity. Encourage the child to ask questions.

Make sure the child gets to move a lot and also focus on the development of fine motor skills meaning that you should help the child use his hands by making him play with dough or help you cook or do gardening. Get him construction games (building blocks) and help him hold pencils appropriately (something that is often neglected). Pay attention to how he eats and brushes his teeth and encourage him to do better.

You can train his cognitive skills by making him recite numbers till 10 or 20 but literacy should be focused on his oral skills (pronunciation, speaking in full sentences) and his receptive abilities (listening). Reading books to children is very beneficial. Make a habit of it by reading bedtime stories. There will come a time (usually around the age of 4) when he will ask about letters and will want to write his name all by himself. This is where the power of intrinsic motivation kicks in and the time to teach him how to write the first words. Don't rush it.

Train his memory by teaching him short poems for children, rhymes and songs. Children love it.

Do not underestimate the potential of fine arts in the early development. It also helps develop fine motor skills and creativity which will lay the foundation for problem solving skills.

Don't beat the child. Children love to learn. Beatings will make him hate it. Don't destroy the eagerness in him by doing what is not age appropriate. Use his natural curiosity to make learning fun.
Well written. Am furthering studies in clinical child psychology and hope to get certifications in play therapy along the way because play is the natural language of children.

Family › Re: My Wife Want To Leave Me Because I Sent Her Daughter Away by Mindlog:
"Our son told me that your daughter beat my daughter", one of the scenarios of blended families. Sending away daughters from previous marriage/relationship to go stay with relatives for sake of "peace" will be counterproductive in the long run because it may likely split the 4 children who are biologically between you two as the 2 daughters that came with you both into the marriage remain their big sisters.

I commend you for standing up for your daughter against the abuse because majority of men in their second marriage tend to overlook the abuse meted on their child/children from previous marriages by their wives for the "sake of peace" thus we hear the horror stories of stepmothers.

The present situation requires external intervention better by a certified family therapist (hope we easily have them around) who is obligated not to be biased as would be expected from relatives from both sides of your families. Sessions of family therapy would provide the platform for family members to voice their feelings, get psychoeducated on challenges, disciplining, boundaries around parenting etc.

Thank u... U said he shud be sending her money but can sending money be like seeing ur kid...

So like I said, the lady is in the same position with this guy.

She can't fight the guy bcox she is financially disadvantage..... All legal method she is seeking seems to favor the man bcox he is rich and has connections.....

Deos those social welfare stuffs work well in this country?

I doubt
Legally, custody don't most times favour men world over even when these men are still expected to continue to make financial provisions for their children despite been given limited time to spend with them.

Attached was my contribution to that thread.

I advised he does not cut ties with the child. because of the mother but send his child's upkeep through the bank for the purpose of evidence of non-neglect which would give him more grounds to rightfully insist on having his daughter spend time with him even if the mother goes to court. I put in hours at a child protection unit and regularly witness the drama of custody and upkeep between the fathers and the mothers.

There is another thread where a guy who has separated from his wife posted that the wife has denied him access to their son, I did encourage him to go to the social welfare in his state of residence and file his complaint, the wife would be forced to bring their son along.

It is most beneficial to a child that he/she is not tossed around because of the parents' irrational thoughts and behaviours.

Boss it is very obvious..

This guy is rich...... This is power play....

She confessed that the guy is kind influential...

Can the father of the baby harm their baby? No.

There are situations where the lady family will be rich and the baby daddy is poor.. And the family of the lady will deny the man of the baby all bcox they are much higher than the man and he can't do anytin abt it.

Power play
Power play you say...is the guy richer than Davido? Is the guy more influential than Atiku's son or Adenuga's son?

Family › Re: My Baby Dad Is Taking My 2years Old Child Away From Me Pls Help Me by Mindlog:
Glad it ended well with you regaining custody of your daughter. If men who were once married to the mother of their child/children find it very difficult to get sole custody of the child/children, what chance do a baby daddy have?

When it comes to issues of a child's welfare , mothers should go through official process no matter how slow because gone are the days when traditions are easily used to cheat a mother out of her right of being the primary care giver of her children when she has the mental capacity to do so.

I hope after all has been settled and frayed nerves are calm, he can always visit his/your daughter when you are physically present as he can not wish you away neither can you wish him away as long as a child exists between you two.
