uniqueuser: No concrete bids forthcoming coupled with the fact that Man Utd is also up for sale.
Because FSG aren't serious about selling. I mean, were Liverpool not announced as the ones looking to sell first? FSG are playing PR games with fans. They don't want to spend and are making up stories to look like the sale is why Liverpool don't want to spend.
AnfieldFan: Bro, FSG want to sell....No better time to cash out than now.... From a pure business standpoint, there isn't a lot of room for growth as a football club than where Liverpool is right now, to g to an idea, look at our financials in comparison to Bayern, Madrid and Man United, clubs of similar stature.. Chelsea's sale brought about this.... The only reason I might see them not selling asides from Greed is if the Super League manages to get revived...If they receive an offer that's tempting enough before then, they will say good bye to the club...
Then why aren't we hearing any authentic reports on that?
Danielnino00: They are still British.. English, Scouse, Scottish, Welsh..they are all British...all cut from the same cloth..
FSG are most likely looking for new investors like they said...even if they wanna sell, they aren't gonna sell for cheap...
Of course I never said they weren't British, they don't side with the British politics that's what I mean. FSG aren't even willing to sell. They only need investors. If they wanted to sell, we would have heard bids being made already.
uniqueuser: Uefa and the English FA should create strong FFP laws that cannot be bypased. This alone will reduce more these issues
That's the thing with laws, there's always a way to manipulate it. We know how it goes. You will make a law today and someone will bring instances that contradicts it.
Danielnino00: The Scousers are being silly... Human rights abuse and all that they are accusing the Arabs of is something the British have been guilty of since time immemorial... nobody has held them to account...
Truth is, if we continue like this, we will be left behind... Unless something big can come out of the Man City case with the FA, like they are suspended from the league or deducted heavy points, teams that have money to spend will continue to bully those that don't...
Our squad needs an overhaul....
The Scousers don't see themselves as English either and have been critics of the government, hence why many of England don't like them. They believe in a way of doing things and stand by it. What they don't realize is, times change and compromises must be made. Either way, it all depends on FSG. FSG don't want to sell the club. All these na propaganda. If they wanted to sell, we would have known already.
Danielnino00: The Arabs easily... They have the money to spend... FSG are trying to run an American sport business model with Liverpool... It is obviously not working..
The Arabs aren't shy when it comes to spending
But the Scoursers don't want them. Now that's the fear.
IngeniousLeez: Booster Gold fans finally jubilant all these years. I had a gut feeling that Gunn would include a couple obscure projects and Booster Gold might be among. I wasn't disappointed.
Swamp Thing swapping to a movie role is my happiest project amongst all. That character and his universe is too goated to remain in the shadows.
Same here .... Ain't familiar with The Authority and Creature Commandos.
You know the best thing I love here ..... It's having actors reprise their roles both in animation and live action as well as the characters being the same personality but different medium. I've been ruminating about that idea for a while and wonder why no one has tried it. It's good he brought this and add some layer of difference from the MCU.
It's a solid initial slate mixing both popular characters as well as lesser popular ones. Having the time to even include a couple animation project is plus. I must say I'm impressed with the slate. Now hunting for actors, writers, producers and release dates is the next stage.
The arrowverse did something like that with Vixen animated series though.
100naira: Doom patrol wasn't for me at all, I managed to finish the first season and just never bother to watch it again.
I will see whether Titans season 4 is any good, I wa already planning on giving up after this season if it remained shiit, WB just made it easier for me.
This season was worse. Bad acting, boring storyline and poorly written characters.
The only thing I am thankful to James Gunn for is cancelling Doom Patrol and Titans. God sake, if you can't make a series, use that money on charity and the world would be better for it.
abduleez1: While Doom Patrol reduced quality a bit after the stellar premiere season, I definitely can't call it crap. In my opinion, it's still pretty good. S2 was weaker in comparison to the predecessor but S3 second part rejuvenated it a bit. And there has been significant character development and growth in all of them. Although, the whole team trying to get off their mental rut and fully takeoff taking too much time was becoming irritating, S3 brought some growth.
For Titans' I'm happy it's cancelled. That shït was annoying and utter trash in S3. They had great cast, but totally misused the plot with incredibly wack writing.
Me I don't see the growth you are talking about if Rita after every season can't get a grip on herself, or how Jane still doesn't know what she wants or who she is. The series is some excuse to promote crazies and make it look like a norm. I lost it this season after 3 episodes seeing Vic still the same character I met in season 2 with Daddy issues. Then there are annoying characters that don't serve any purpose; the buttss and some stupid stuff that makes me feel like throwing up.
abduleez1: Lol, I no understand fans again. Ppl don dey accuse WB for the past few years say them too dey show everything inside trailer and should learn to tease from MCU. Dem don dey do the same thing now and peeps dey complain.
I was quite shocked with wetin Fernando talk for here. The trailer was enjoyable and the CGI was good. It's easy to feel the budget was up for the sequel.
She's saying crap. My problem with the trailer is, I wanted to go into the film thinking it had no stakes only to come out surprised. The trailer ruined that for me by hyping it up and creating an expectation I didn't want to build.
abduleez1: Doom Patrol and Titans are out. Sad DP will be leaving us. 😢 It's nice Titans finally gets to end. Those characters will be better off in the new DCU.
Doom Patrol became crap after an outstanding first season. Glad both are cancelled. Doom Patrol had nothing to offer but political propaganda and crap. Characters were just the same with no development that it became too depressing for me to watch. I mean, Rita, Robotman, negative man and Jane kept complaining about the same mental shit over and over again with no growth whatsoever. Come on. Titans didn't even know what it wanted to be, a family soap opera or a superhero show. Then there's the bad acting or slow acting from the cast. Characters were just uninteresting. DC should stay off tv series for a while, in fact from superhero stuff if they can't get it right. Hollywood is becoming redundant these days. I miss the 90s and early 2000s with originality. Now it's just politics and wokeness.
I love that this film is bigger than the the first one and the stakes are higher in this trailer.
The first trailer was all light and fun, this one got pretty serious right from the start.
I just worry that maybe this trailer showed too much of the film including the 3rd act which is weird cuz Antman second trailer did a lot of showing off too.
If the reviews are good, I will definitely see this in a cinema.
WB still don't know how to market the DC films. No one needed to see all that. It should have been a surprise and it would have dragged more to the cinema in subsequent weeks of release due to the shocker it will bring. Now everyone knows what to expect. Reduces the fun.
Skseries: what u don't get it u don't get a second chance to make a first impression, if the first time I watch a film I didn't like it enuf to want to watch it again, then why will I?
I saw man of steel again and I kinda understand what story he was trying to tell, but for a first watch I wasn't sold.
BVS I always have to fast forward to the end fight, this is me that love movies from Nolan and the batman
abduleez1: I still dey wonder wetin dem use all that money do for Black Adam and this news pop out. I first saw it on twitter yesterday but I ignore. Seeing it again today and from THR kinda lending some credence to it they make me vex. Cos why Walter Hamada go dey make creatives push am around like this, especially when you remember his New Line Cinema background where they are very prudent with their films. Even Aquaman 2 is $205mn and Pamela Abdy had to call Wan to tell him to reduce reshoots budget. I'm not even imagining what Flash will cost with all the reshoots and all that. That one smells $250mn a pop.
I agree with this $150mn cap for any big wig character. Then $175mn most for big team up (JL Corps) and JL first film. Mega Sequels after proven box office mettle rarely gets $200mn if it's Batman or JL Level/GL Corp saga.
If na my hand e dey many films no go pass $120mn asides Batman.
Most of the money went to the star I believe, marketing and reshoots. I heard a rumour that part of the reason, the reboot is happening has to do with WBD being in debt and needing to start making money, hence they want to cast actors who would be lesser paid and who don't have to get cuts from the BO I think. It's just rumor. Heard WBD are $40bill in debt and so far, only The Batman was a profitable movie.
abduleez1: @ the bolded... Okay oo mister man. We clearly live in alternate universes.
You go just dey argue wetin you no sure of. Snyder himself already confirmed it was Grayson. So how come I knew the Robin that was killed when the original storyline was Jason Todd? Or is there only one Robin.
Try understand what I am saying. I know Snyder confirmed it was Grayson but it doesn't mean we wouldn't have seen him in the DCEU at some point. Or that the plan may well as change later on to bring him back to life or whatever. This is a comic book movie world after all.
abduleez1: Nope. Grayson is dead dead. He was killed by Joker with a crowbar. His costume was literally in BVS.
Still doesn't excuse the fact that she'd fvvk him and still get pregnant with Bruce's son, especially when they were friends. The fvvk. It's a stupid plan and no excuse or mansplaining makes it less stupid.
Umm, what critics say doesn't always dictate the tune of a movie. If a movie is really bad it's bad. I don't think the movie is that bad but the ramifications of the movie have dire consequences which makes it as a whole a bad film. Joker for example was faced by many critics lashings and propaganda. But the massive enthusiasm from audiences forced some of them to eat their words. They had no choice than to acknowledge the film and give it it's due. Another example... The Shining was a critically panned in the 80s when it was released and term so damn bad. In fact Shelley Duvall was nominated for a Razzie award as well as Stanley Kubrick for Worst director. But look at it today, it's a fvvking cult classic and always in top 10 of any reputable All time greatest horror movies list.
Umm, based on the interactions I've had with many Snyder fans online, they very much behave like it. Doesn't mean I haven't seen moderate and logical fans online. One of the ppl I interact most with on NL is pu7pl3 a Snyder fan. We don't always agree on things Snyder but I respect his opinion. Still that doesn't translate to the majority of self acclaimed Snyder fans I've met online. Cos if there are truly moderate Snyder fans, they surely are the backbenchers and minority. The Stans know themselves.
Dick Grayson was never even mentioned bro, they still could have taken the story anywhere. He still could have showed. Anything could have happened.
From the Snyder fans that I have seen, they aren't toxic or go on ranting rampage or form cults, they basically express their disappointment in the franchise.
abduleez1: My issue with Snyder's Superman is not really even the death's. It's understandable. The only major issue I have is Clark watching while his dad died. That's definitely not what the core of the character stands for. I can overlook that but that BVS shithood were Superman had to die, in just the second movie was the last straw. Person wey we never familiarise with and understand.
Yea, I had problem with Superman dying in BvS and the Martha nonsense. But Jonathan dying was explained. But I felt they missed out on not showing a sub plot of someone figuring out Clark's secret and blackmailing the Kent's before Jonathan did something to keep them shut. It would have explained better why Clark obeyed and decided to trust Jonathan before the tornado came at him. But they could have made him try to run into the tornado.
Batman killing ain't my problem. My problem is killing Dick Grayson when we have a 20yrs old experienced Dark Knight without even giving us a glimpse of the Robin character. How do you build a franchise that way?
Dude, Grayson could still have showed up and it could have been another story itself. We never knew what really happened nor did we see a body.
We're still gonna spend additional years with Superman being mind-controlled by Darkseid in the future. We're always gonna spend reasonable time with Zack's Supes being evil or an antihero theme if the plan came to fruition. Another wild plan is having Lois Lane fvvk Bruce and even have a son for him. What was he cooking? Anyways, the fact remains, BVS is the movie that started the mighty fall of the DCEU and forever scarred general audiences in relation to the brand. Also that stupendous clusterfvck of Suicide Squad and atrocious Josstice League sealed the fate.
You do know that could still happen right? And Darkseid influencing Superman is something that has happened before in the cartoons, as well as Lois Lane dating billionaires like Lex Luthor, Bruce Wayne have been portrayed before in animation and live action.
Someone saying peeps are just following critics words is just talking gibberish and being defensive. So no one grew up with Superman content over the years? Na this kind of Gaslighting dey cause problems with other people in the first place with this Cult. I'm not a fan of campy shït or Superheroes but structural issues like this is a big deal.
I wish I was talking gibberish. If Man of Steel was critically acclaimed no one would have found faults in a lot of the things they are nitpicking, trust me. If Nolan made MOS or BVS, no one would nitpick. Look at Tenet for example, who is shitting on the movie? But trust me, if it were another director like say Michael Bay or Snyder, people will find faults in every turn.
Critics shape a lot of perceptions. Take Ragnarok for example, many MCU fans think it's a great film because critics said it was. It may not be with everyone but when someone starts pointing out something that was very much explained in the movie and then saying otherwise, you have to question a lot of things. Stop shaming the Snyder fans and calling them a cult. Call these idiots what they are, the toxic fandom.
Nickshrapnel: I don’t know if it was on this thread but I remember telling someone before BvS that casting an older Bruce Wayne may work for Snyder story, but a universe should never be built on that. Snyderverse should have been an elseworld franchise.
It could have worked. My God, you aren't going to put Bruce Wayne and Batman in 12 films. Give Affleck his trilogy, the JL films and write him off. No matter who they cast, he wouldn't be in 12 films. So why couldn't an older Bruce Wayne work? Initially JL 1and2 were to be filmed back to back. An Affleck Batman film was to come out 2018, 2020, a sequel, 2022, JL 3 for instance. So you are saying Ben Affleck can't play Batman well into 2025? Lol. Even the new Batman or Superman wouldn't appear in 12 solo films. More like cameos, and Ben Affleck couldn't do that?
SMUAG: I think Some of the guys here need to go to place like quora to learn from guys who know this characters more, and not just thinking that Christopher Reeves' Superman is the only and best way to portray the Boy scout....
Reeve represented the trusting era. If I am to write a Superman script now, I wouldn't make him a Boy scout and of course, I wouldn't make Lex Luthor a villain cause when you sit back, realistically Lex Luthor wouldn't be considered a bad guy if Superman were to exist in the real world. And Clark wouldn't be a boy scout or naive. And that's what I love about the Superman and Lois series.
pu7pl3: I don't agree with this your post man, that Campy Superman can't cut it in this day and age... nothing wrong with him snapping Zods neck, it was a last resort and you could clearly see how it affected him in BVS. And there was no reconstruction done on the character, Superman has a kill count in the comics too.
No mind am. I think most critics on here are basing their own criticism on what the film's critics said. Please, that boy scout American symbol of propaganda wouldn't work in this age. Unless he is made complex or his villains are made complex and less of villains else you have a totally boring movie. How they wrote Captain America in later films should be how Supes is written. That's why Batman is interesting. And as for Batman killing, it was really explained. 20 years in Gotham, he lost it. "20 years in Gotham, how many good guys are left, how many stayed that way" this isn't a man who is optimistic in the system any longer or wanted to do it by the book. He was fighting his demons. I love those stories.
