Lmao... I still dey tell Una to rest with this shelved talk.

WB Pictures Animation has been making flops since 2018 back to back, but that hasn't made its parent company shelved the animation studio. In fact Zaslav and co is planning for two animated movies per year from WBPA starting 2024. If a smaller loss making company wasn't shelved or cancelled in Zaslav's brutal axe, I see no way DC films would.
Let's stop the cap now bruh.

All studios have some time of difficulty in their history. That doesn't mean they'd stop producing films especially the big 5.

Zaslav have consistently talked about Harry Potter and Superman (DC) in virtually all his talks about the studio. Doesn't seem he'd be backing down because of a few snags. Current WB execs are different from what we're used to.

Instead, Zaslav would sacrifice the smaller projects for the bigger ones if he really cares about his profits.

Gunn can continue talking as he likes, it's his right.... Whether his movie flopped or not without him saying shΓ―t people were still gonna talk loudly. Let's not pretend there's not a dedicated set of people waiting for him to fail. They were the one that started talking before Gunn started giving it to them hot hot. So make everybody dey him dey.

Either way you die, why not go out graciously.
Lol, I hope you know it's not WB that's using their money to finance the big budget film, right?
It's the investors who put in money on a project. If WB don't start turning profit for investors, people may not be open into putting their money in these projects. Don't expect Zaslav to be okay with losing money. If it gets consistent, the board might vote him out.

CAP!!!

When WB lost money massively in 2019 with ALL their movies that year premium flops, Joker was the one to save the day. Same thing happened in 2021 with most WB movies underperforming except GvK. The Batman gave WB the profit margin they needed early 2022 to get back up.

WB just needs similar movies like that with probably Dune 2 and Barbie.
Only The Nun part 2 will cover half that expenses.
If Aquaman and Blue Beetle underperforms, James Gunnverse might be shelved. WB needs to start making profit as it is cause I doubt investors would want to invest in coming DC projects.
That's why I am saying James Gunn better quit the media nonsense cause if Zaslav calls the whole thing off, it'll be a big embarrassment for him. He should stay low key, cause as it is, everyone is waiting for I told you so. Superman project is very different from Guardians of the Galaxy and would be closely watched and nitpicked at every turn like MOS and Superman Returns.
Gunn needs to shut up about the project till it's filmed and marked for release.

Our CB options going into the season doesn't look too good IMO... VVD appears to be off his sort since that injury .. Konate and Matip are injury prone..Gomez is inconsistent... We need a CB that can play RB too...
We really shouldn't have needed a CB if Klopp had treated Phillips right last season. Looking at it, we really don't have CB right now cause Gomez, Matip and Konate are one injury away from a real crisis.

A new CB is absolutely necessary.

We can't rely on grandpa Matip and error prone Gomez whenever Konate or VVD picks up an injury
Didn't know you were a Liverpool fan.

We aren't in desperate need of a RB, we have people that can cover there , also, out of possession, we still defend with a four at the back...

We need a LCB, we should realistically sell one of Robbo or Tsimikas this season if we plan to play this way (inverting Trent) but I'm too attached to both players and I guess the Manager is too...

Regarding the LCB, Colwill has impressed me most , he's young and he has premier league experience as well but Chelsea would sooner relegate than sell a promising player like that to a direct rival... Not to mention the cost, they rejected 30+ from Brighton....

So Van de Ven seems the most likely choice since we've been linked to him previously...

Gvardiol was actually Liverpool's plan from years ago but the boy exploded at Leipzig and turns out we didn't factor for that and now he's out of our price range🀣🀣...FSG🀑🀑

If Thuram makes it through the Euros, I reckon we'd sign him and have him power through from the 6 into the edge of the box with his physicality...If we sign Lavia, I don't think we will sign Thuram so we'd lose the physicality for a more technical player...Kone is almost out of the equation now as he picked up a knee injury in his last Euro's match..

All in all, we only have one non-homegrown spot left ...
We really don't have cover at RB. Gomez is not consistent. We aren't selling any of our back 4.

but klopps tactics doesn't require the use of an A.M ..

All A.M's either play wide or as false nine for KLOPP ...

so how does this guy fits in??
You forget Klopp managed Gundogan. Come to think of it, I bet he must have learnt something from last season. Gegen pressing doesn't always work. It's high time he changed something. Play more like Manchester City. Not full throttle.

is this player versatile?? as in can play in any midfield position...

cause he plays exactly the same position as the one we signed from Brighton..

Attacking midfielder...
Not exactly. Mac Alister is versatile. Can play 8,6,10. This new guy is like KDB.

Yeah, but I don't think they will have that luxury of time to be able to flesh out all these because of other characters and it's a movie. Series and tv shows can do those things because the much time they have to build cohesive stories and this is just one of my many reasons while I don't rate tv show/series that high; it's more easier to do a better story in series than just one way movie with 2hrs+.
Good thing Gunn has stated the DCU spans movies, animation and tv series. I don't see why Lex can't be a major player in Checkmate series or in Wallet tv series. Or in an eventual Justice league film.

I like this your idea. For me, the ideology of a human being with genius mind rivalling Superman (when Superman too is a genius) is becoming tiring to me.
Lex should just be behind the scene and running things until he probable invents technologies that can make him go toe-to-toe with the man of steel before he surfaces.
I really am not against Lex being a Superman film villain but not this early. He can be introduced but as a character not just a baddie. Seriously there's a way you can write Lex without making him redundant. He is now an anti-hero now sef independent of Superman.
They should end this notion of Lex always trying to kill Superman. Yea, he doesn't have to be friends with him but they can be rivals who occasionally will work together. Smallville did this right.

My optimism increases daily.
Gunn really cooking... Up next, Lex Luthor, next movies not announced and directors. πŸ™Œ
I hope they don't announce Lex till when the film premiers. It shouldn't look like this is a Lex vs Superman film.

I dunno, but I think Alexander Skarsgard can give you that. People that have watched Succession cam chip in.

True tho, Bill looks really villainy, but he can pull off almost anything. He gave a Lex ruthless calculation and annoyance in John Wick 4. He showed his meek side in Barbarian.

I'd like him for Swamp Thing tho.
I like these set of cast I'm seeing. I'm hoping if anyone lost out to the other they should still cast them for a project. Except the actors Tom Britany and the other lady he's paired with I don't like.
The reason I don't want an actor who screams villainy is because, you get a challenging rival who is both a psychological torture for Superman and whom the audience can relate with. Someone who is likeable. I don't want the gangster or crazy Lex, one who is business like and who gets people on his side through his wits not just cause he is threatening. Cause let's face it, if we go that route, we have seen the bald headed bad guy overdone in films.

If he doesn't fit as Raas then maybe Lord Otto Hightower played by Rhys Ifans would best fit the Asian warlord.

I've mostly forgotten my US map knowledge... I'm thinking Kansas should be in the Midwest. Dunno, I think na dem get farmer agrarian lifestyle.

Of course, Viserys would fit Ra'as just that I want him to bring that fatherly role to play Jonathan Kent. My bias though.

I'll pick the Skarsgard brothers over him for Lex tho .. those dudes are fvvking good. We need phenomenal actors for the big roles man.
I really want someone charismatic as Lex

If he's loosing out to Corenswet and already lost out to Pattinson for Batman..... I see him as perfect Nightwing actor. That's if age isn't the major concern. With what I saw on Renfield, I think he can play Dick Grayson as Nightwing.
He ain't gonna be Nightwing. Would make a good Hal Jordan. Or Lex Luthor. They should just cast him as Lex abeg. He can't keep losing out roles without compensation. Would make for a nice narrative. Dude wanted to be Superman but can't, so he goes bad and shaves his head. He has that swag and corporate mogul feel about him after all.

I know na.... I ain't saying they should cast them for so so role. I said any role in the DCU.
I'm sure there would be a prominent or key character in DC any of the cast of HOTD can fit into.

That King Viserys actor, Paddy Cosidine na prime Raas 'al ghul to me.
The Simpson that simping for Queen Alicent would make a good actor in the Batman family.
Nah. I will love him as Kyle Rayner or Jimmy Olsen. But I see your point. But Gunn is going for a young Batman, so that age would be kind of...

King Viserys, he better be Jonathan Kent. He could fit nicely as a farmer from Kansas. Don't know if he could do a Southern American accent. Or is Kansas not in South of US?

This is everything I have ever asked for from a Superman film. Clark Kent is not Superman. Superman is not Clark Kent. We need to believe both are different. Watching the Superman film of old, I honestly believed the glasses thing could work.
I mean, Ving Rhames and Sam Dede look alike but we all know they aren't the same people, cos they behave differently.

Lol, some headlines can be confusing at times.

But what Gunn is actually saying is that Superhero films of now you hardly are really connected with the characters portrayed by the actors or how they was written. There's no connection or relating with them.

It's significant in the sense that as stupid and dumb as a character like King Shark was in TSS, he was loved by all. Imagine say King Shark no return for the next TSS movie, people fit protest.
See Birds of Prey, if them recast or change the actor wey play Cassandra Cain, you go complain. See as them murder Cassie. The film ain't bad per se to me but I didn't like the character portrayals and I didn't enjoy the portrayal of Jurnee Smollet even tho she's a phenomenal actress.

How many people wan miss Amy Adams as Lois Lane. She's one of the issue with Superman film sef. Her portrayal is just too plastic for my liking.
There's a reason people love Margot Robbie and can't think of any other person as Harley. Same goes for Viola Davis.
You can't blame Amy Adams. Her Lois Lane was written very poorly. Even Clark Kent didn't have a personality. That's why I say the secret identity thing is as important to writing Lois Lane and Superman characters. Taking it away without explaining it or even referencing it took a lot of dynamics from the story.
If you check, Lois had little to do in BvS with Clark Kent, and even her character was bland in MOS. She found out Clark's identity too early and quick which they didn't use to develop her character to show how Superman influenced her.

Honestly if DC fail to capture any young star from HBO's House of The Dragon I fit swear for WB and DC Studios. 😭😭

Those two ladies, Milly Alcock and Emily Carey are going places. The entire cast is just too sweet not to capitalise on.
I liked what WB did with Pedro Pascal, same can be replicated with him starring in GOT, The Last of Us and WW84.
It depends on the role na. Jamie Lannister appeared in Flash lol. But I can see King Viserys first of his name playing Falcone or Jonathan Kent.

At least, henceforth we can hope WB has learnt their lesson. Who knows whether now they can seriously think of wiping out Amber Heard, but it's hard since she's key to the story.
I never liked Ezra from the onset, and he was one of the few casting choices from Snyder I didn't like. I didn't feel him as Barry then.
Weird enough, some critics actually said Miller has a good performance in the Flash movie.

This is why I say thorough vetting needs to occur henceforth for future casting, not to fail to screen out future powder kegs. From director, writer to actor. Top to bottom.

Disney/MCU seems set to be thrown into such issues with Jonathan Majors problem.
I think Majors is innocent. Miller's own didn't need vetting sef. I think he was cast after he read with and had chemistry with Ben Affleck. He had auditioned for Nightwing or Robin in BvS.

Even new film and useless rom-com that nobody watches anymore like No Hard Feelings is beating out the Flash. You gotta be fearful.

Imagine Elemental picking up steam and beating out Flash.
Lol, it's frightening actually. The film wasn't bad, if only they dropped the Miller guy. I was really doubtful of the guy way before now (not his acting abilities. He is good) when I saw an interview of the guy in 2015. The fella was so high that you seriously sensed he was going to be a problem.
I thought after the choking a woman thing would force WB into action but no. But they acted quick to drop Johnny Depp from Fantastic Beasts and the movie ended up a BO disappointment. And the ironic thing is, there were no videos proving the guy abused Heard.

Yeah, they shouted back then,

"DCEU is too dark and broody",
"The colour palette is too bland"
"Comic book movies should not be serious"

Today, we have DC movies being opposites of these and yet nobody is watching these "marvel-like" movies again. Lol...
Lol, if you spend most of your days listening to people who consistently say bad things about you, you end up becoming who and what they want you to be, not who you want to be or can be.
Imagine if Game Of Thrones stuck by the sword and fantasy trope, we won't have gotten G. O. T that we all knew. But hey, it's their business, they got investors to please. The more reason I don't think WB will have the balls to keep things consistent with the upcoming DCU. The old managements have already set the brand up to fail.

The Flash currently sits at 210.9M from $139M opening at the box office, not the ideal for a movie of its calibre, but a far cry from the prophecy of doom all over the net.

Yeah, I was very confident of the movie making bank. What's not to like?

Apparently, it seems we underestimated the number of general audiences who actually knew about Ezra Miller shenanigans.

Cos what I'm seeing definitely ain't about the movie being really bad. It's more or less with the GA not supporting the movie because of the main actor. Imagine a Flash movie struggling with Elemental. 😒😒

After going through many people's comments on social media (Twitter) it seems even casual people knew about the shΓ―t. Many even knew about Ezra without even knowing about the DCEU impending reboot.

It's how Blue Beetle performs we'd properly gauge Ezra's influence. Either way, I think Blue Beetle will do well, if anything, it's doing better than Flash especially with Brazil and Latinos support.
You underestimated the influence of social media and the coverage of the network news lol. Again, WB hiring people to say stuff like it's the greatest thing ever set the movie up to fail.
