ogododo: Former Jigawa state governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Sule Lamido has named River state governor, Nyesom Wike “the natural heir” to the Presidential seat after Atiku Abubakar, the party’s candidate in the 2023 election.
This is even as Lamido described the governor as an asset to the PDP and a leader who has etched his name in glory given his performance as chief executive of the oil-rich state.
Lamido who stated this in an exclusive chat with our correspondent in his Abuja residence however blamed unnamed persons close to the governor for fuelling issues Wike has been responding to recently, stressing that the party must rescue the Rivers state governor and preserve him for the future.
He said: “Wike is a huge treasure for the PDP and one of the best materials. If we win (in 2023), he is the natural heir to the throne because he has the quality, the aura, the charm, the charisma and the age. I have been saying this: PDP is a family. There was a primary election and there were expectations but some of them were not met. So, it is natural for one to react. I can understand that. Governor Wike is somebody who is very forceful, who has done so well as a governor of PDP in his own state and who has been very supportive of the PDP. But again, he was made by the PDP. He is somebody we must make sure we preserve and we must rescue him from his own anger.”
According to the former Foreign Affairs Minister, whatever support Wike gives to PDP today is the party’s right, adding that “it is the party that made him” and not the other way round.
He continued: “Whatever support he is giving to PDP is PDP’sright because a son does not say ‘I am doing this for my father.’ The party that made him is like a father.”
Recall that a former governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu recently said that Wike lost the Vice Presidential nomination to Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa because of the former’s penchant for talking too much. But for Lamido, Wike is right to be angry, insisting however that he must give peace a chance in the overall interest of the party.
“He is right to be angry for having not achieved his own personal interest or ambition but again that is what leadership entails. He is a party man and the party is not his enemy. The party is his home, is own group, his own support and therefore whatever might have been the failure of him to achieve his interest, should not be taken too seriously at a personal level.
“Wike is now like as a boiling pot. There is so much anger in him because people around him will not allow him to see clearly. People around him who he thinks are his own friends are his biggest enemies. It is a fact and he will see it later on and that is why they are putting more logs under the fire. By now they should be withdrawing all the logs under the fire, to allow the pot to cool down.
Lamido further counselled Governor Wike to be wary of those around him, noting that none of them has the capacity to make him realize his ambition.
“There is no one single person in Nigeria today who can say I can run on the platform of PDP and win election on his own, not even Atiku. It is the people of the PDP who will deliver such a person. Ask those around Wike, can they deliver their states to him? There are governors now using Wike but he is one of our best materials for the future.
“To me, we need to make sure that we assist him to calm down and stop him from spilling over with anger because the pot is literally messing up its body by this unnecessary heat.
At the right time, he will see the wisdom in what I am saying because we are all former governors. We know what we were in office and we know what we are out of office,” he added.
They have come again with their deciet. When they feel their interest is threaten, due the injustice backstabbing done to Wike and fearing the attendant consequences, they now want to decieve wike with a fake Presidential hope. If I were wike, I would have left the PDP long before they realize it
Easyvibez: Abdulmumin Jibrin says the proposed alliance between Rabiu Kwankwaso and Peter Obi is the south-east’s “best route” to producing a president.
SweetVibe: So your customers who don't support your candidate can go to hell right?
I no see any take here, aside bad belle Your argument no just add up at all Anyone who is in need of cash and sees a nearby POS pay point, will always go there and get his/her desired service, whether or not the agent displayed the picture of his prefared candidate or not. Your argument is akin to saying that because a food vendor is a member of deeper life for instance, and has pasted W. F. Kumiyi's sticker in her shop, someone who is hungry and need food to eat will not go there to eat because he or she is not a member or a follower of Mr. Kumuyi. What I can see here is pure jealousy, you really would have wish to be the one to do that, but seeing it done by another person makes you feel jealous.
Alary: They are sleeping before? They didn't go to ekiti and they see the consequences. Apc Inaugurates a 60 man battalion members and PDP doubles the number. But Aoc squad strong pass all this ragtag Pdp is put forward. Hope Atiku will go there this time around, the guy has not been active at all recently, even he has been silent and disappeared since the primaries. Hope he is ok health wise. What about Labour party ? I'm sorry for them though, politics is not won with emotion, you have to be rooted in the grassroot. Politics is LOCAL.
So Labour Party and Peter Obi has now become una albatros?? Wasn't kwakwaso's NNPP suppose to be in Ekiti State Is Rabui Musa Kwankwaso no longer a Presidential candidate of his party Is Rabui Musa Kwankwaso and his party, the NNPP not suppose to be in Osun State too What is your obsession with Labour Party and Obi
NAIJASTANDARD71: JUST IN: WE can tell you authoritatively Tokunbo Afikuyomi falsified ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU’S academic credentials to INEC, says Campaign Headquarters
… recent primary, secondary school certificate forgery stemmed from the error made in the 1999 incident, now resurfacing ahead of the 2023 presidential elections
*“Mr Afikuyomi, a former senator, admitted he mistakenly filled the governorship nomination forms for Mr Tinubu in 1999 and, therefore, was responsible for the false claims before a Lagos parliamentary panel that probed the counterfeit academic records”
How foolish can you bunch be for trying so desperately hard to defend the indefensible So, someone according to your myopic narrative forged an information on INEC form meant for tinubu, and he went on to signed on it & submitted same to INEC, to me it shows how daft & dump tinubu was then, even when he was younger & compared to how his brain should function now that he is older.
This mumu man don dump tilumbu for kwankwaso No thanks to Mr. Rufai of Arise TV that drill his sorry ass on tilumbu bullion van saga which has now made him to get small sense. Peter does not need kwankwaso to win in any election
nairalandankrah: PETER OBI THAT CANNOT EVEN WIN LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMANSHIP POSITION IN LAGOS STATE, HOW CAN HE RULE NIGERIA.? TINUBU IS THE SOLUTION WE NEED” — FESTUS KEYAMO
“Following the antecedent of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Peter Obi, these are two different individuals that are not compatible in anywhere politically, Financially and otherwise. Tinubu will beat Peter Obi hands down come 2023. This is a pure fact not an exaggeration.
“Tinubu is more credible and competent to rule Nigeria than any other aspirants. His track records are there for the whole world to see.
Bringing PDP and LP Parties to contest with Asiwaju is a very big insult to our party the APC because what we have achieved within a short period of time, no political party has ever achieved it in the history of Nigerian politics.
“Peter Obi per say cannot even win ordinary Chairmanship election in Lagos State not to talk of winning a single State in the forthcoming elections.
Asiwaju will defeat him even in his own polling unit. The entire Nation are behind Asiwaju. Asiwaju knows the game and this time around they will know how prepared we are.” ~ Festus Keyamo
Somebody should tell me festus keyamo is madly mad and I wouldn't doubt the person. Comparing tilumbu & Peter Obi is akin to pairing light & darkness Peter Obi represent light & Nigerians are already seeing through it
The families of Abuja-Kaduna train attack are not interested in Peter Obi's lies. They are looking for money to pay ransome for their loved ones' release.
The aggrieved families of Nigerians killed by Bandits in Kaduna, Kastina, Niger, Zamfara are not interested in Peter Obi's campaign. They think of govt that failed them.
Buhari's family don't care about Peter Obi's lies because in the last 7 years, they lived the best life can offer. Till today, nothing is telling us how Yusuf acquired his multi-million Naira bike.
When you get to the market, present to them Peter Obi's lies so that the prices of goods reduce. Inflation has nothing to do with Peter Obi's political ambitions.
ponishah: The problem with some of you is that you don't listen, you don't read to understand. I did not even say that Obi won't win or that I will not vote for him or whoever.
I only pointed out your blunder, where you said that structures don't win wlections. Anyway, I have seen that you do not know the meaning of structure, you mistakenly think that the structure they talking about is building. I won't bother myself teaching you.
Peter Obi can win, kwakwanso can win, anybody can win, it is all probability but every probability differs.
Guy I don't have the luxury of time to respond to incoherent blabbing in the name of comments. Like I said, nobody is begging you to vote Peter Obi, alright, you can vote your Atiku & your Tinubu for all I care. Mind you, Obi is not desperate of becoming a President, whether Obi wins or lose, he would have succeeded in making a BOLD Political Statement for future references. Our stands is that, they must be a clear departure from the old unproductive order. I know you belong to the past and that is why, you're seriously pain that, sooner or later, you're gonna lose relevance. So stick to your candidate and allow us to stick to ours. On a final note, your disjointed arguments doesn't seems to me, nor suggest that you have any understanding about the issues under in discuss!
So it is now buhari that decides who get bail & who does not Where then lies the much dramatised Independent of the Judiciary You people should continue in your illegality.
If you know how party structure works, you wouldn't have committed that blunder.
Mr. Structure apostle, didn't Atiku Abubakar had more than enough structures in 2019 so why didn't that translate into electoral victory for him Sometimes you people talk as if your have become hypnotized, hence unable to reason objectively. In case you don't know, but let me still tell you that it is human beings that do vote at elections and not structures. So if the Nigerian masses have decided to rally round Peter Obi of Labour Party, so what is the noise about structure this, structure that after all even those with the so call structures at the end of the day still fall back on the Nigerian masses for votes. Why can't you people just leave Peter Obi & his supporters alone and focus on your corrupt structure champion by corrupt money bags.
Is Mr. Danladi Umar still the Presiding Justice at the Code Of Conduct Tribunal after the alleged fighting with a security guard bruhaha, at Banex Plaza The case seems to have died a natural death. What a Country!
AlexReports: A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Prince Ned Nwoko has said the swirl of support the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi is getting may not necessarily translate into electoral victory at the polls.
According to Ned, a former House of Representatives member, Labour Party needs a structure that is beyond the support base it is getting from Nigerians to achieve victory.
Speaking in a recent interview with BBC Igbo, the PDP Senatorial candidate for Delta North in 2023 general elections said the electoral success of Labour Party will only be anchored in its control of a good percentage of the National Assembly as well as the state Houses of Assembly.
"The support base is there with the labour unions, there are so many of them, students, the market people and all that. So he is a popular candidate, he will even be more popular in coming months.
"But he cannot become the President because he doesn't have the structure. His party doesn't have control of any State House of Assembly. He must have some Labour Party members controlling some states assemblies, he must have some Labour Party members in significant number in House of Representatives and Senate for him to become President.
"If by chance he becomes the President, how can he function with the PDP controlling the National Assembly for instance?" he queried.
The billionaire businessman therefore advised the Labour Party to work towards establishing some structures, which he said will take some years.
On his relationship with Peter Obi a former governor of Anambra state, Prince Ned Nwoko extolled his humility, recalling how as a governor, Peter Obi booked flights and hotel rooms for him by himself.
He also said Obi never came like other governors who visited him in London with retinue of aides, stating that the former Anambra governor came in most simplistic manner.
He further commended Obi's knowledge of the country's economy as a big player in the business world, saying the PDP needs him back to its fold so that he will deploy his knowledge to the nation's economic engine room if the party wins in 2023 presidential election.
Ned Nwoko had earlier urged the Labour Party to focus on building a lasting structure, his counsel was however misconstrued to be an attack on the person of Peter Obi and the Labour Party
Nobody need any advice from Regina thing besides, no one is talking about how to marry little girl here! Who NASS members epp All what we need is Peter Obi as the next President of Nigeria. Structures don't vote during elections, but human beings do.
Chenu60: SHOCKING: Angels Caught On Camera In Abuja Church
The Senior Pastor of the City of Refuge International Church, Abuja, Pastor Oloche King Adaji, has said some angels were captured on camera in his church.
mrvictornews: Nigerian philanthropist, lawyer and billionaire Ned Nwoko has predicted that Mr. Peter Obi will not win the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria. Highlighting that he will like if Mr. Peter returns to the PDP and he will suitable to be minster of the economy.
Nwoko, a PDP politician was a member of the House of Representative between 1999 and 2003 representing Aniocha North-South and Oshimilli North-South.
Nwoko said: “Peter Obi is a good man and has impressed me. When he came to London he came alone. He’s a capitalist and a big-time player in the business world and conservative in the way he handles things.
“I’ll like him back in PDP, he’ll do well as Minister of Economy, he’ll help us turn around Nigeria’s economy.
“Labour Party does not have the structure to win but they have a support base. He’s a popular candidate but cannot become president because he does not have the structure. As a president, you must have the majority of Labour Party in the House of Representatives and Senate.
“Many things in Nigeria will work against the emergence of a president under Labour party, It wouldn’t happen.”
Ned Nwoko added that Peter Obi should not have left the Peoples Democratic Party, and hoped that he returns.
Can someone tell this Regina thing to face his front and leave Peter Obi alone. Why are they becoming so obsess with Peter Obi Why all of a sudden every politician & political parties are now campgaining with Peter Obi's name Is Peter Obi the only Presidential candidate in the Country God will shame all the nwoko's
press9jatv: Peter Obi will do well as Minister of Economy, he doesn’t have the structure and Igbos are not ready for presidency - Ned Nwoko
Delta-born politician, Ned Nwoko has shared his thoughts about former Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi's participation in the forthcoming governorship election under Labour Party's platform.
The politician who is married to actress Regina Daniels, acknowledged that Peter Obi is not like other Governors he has met in the past as he's quite frugal and a big-time capitalist.
Nwoko also stated in the interview with BBC Igbo, that he would like Peter Obi to come back to the Peoples Democratic Party as he will do well as a Minister of Economy and will also help the economy bounce back.
The Delta-born politician further averred that though Peter Obi is popular and might have a support base, he doesn't have the structure to function as he would need the majority in either house of reps or senate, state house of assemblies and government.
He also said that all of these might take at least 8 years to be achieved. Nwoko further claimed there are many things that would work against the emergence of Peter Obi as President of Nigeria and "it would never happen".
Nwoko also said that Igbos are not ready for presidency as that would have shown during the primaries. He also wondered why delegates never supported Igbo candidates, but went for candidates from other regions.
According to him, Igbos are largely selfish and won't think about others. Nwoko added that he doesn't subscribe to zoning, but believes in merit.
Just like you're doing well in sampling small gifts kpekus in the name of marriage
ashiwaju2010: Exposed: Kwankwaso is from Nnewi, Anambra State
The true story about how an Igbo man founded the town where a former governor of Kano, Rabiu Kwankwaso state is from has been revealed.
This is the true story of Mr. Felix Okonkwo also known as Okwonkwo Kano, an Igbo trader who founded a town in Kano in the early part of the 20th century.
Like every other descent of the great Igbo race, Mr. Okonkwo being industrious and originally from Nnewi part of Igboland, came to the North Western part of Nigeria, Kano in a bid to carry out his trade.
Mr. Okwonkwo was a trader who traded the one thing Kano was famously known for in those days, groundnut.
Mr. Okwonkwo being an intelligent businessman started a groundnut trading business in the year 1927 on the rail tracks that led to Kano, close to the farm where he was able to buy groundnuts from farmers, process them with his thresher and transport them by rail to Lagos.
Mr. Okwonkwo called his now florishing groundnut business as indicated on a big sign board the name, “Okwonkwo and Sons.”
In trying to pronounce the name of his business by the native Hausa speaking people of Kano, they mispronounced it as “kwankwosons” and eventually, they finally settled for “Kwankwaso.”
If you’re familiar with the typical intonation of an average Hausa man and how he pronounces alien words, it would be easier to understand why Okwokwo was pronounced as Kwankwo.
As time went by, due to the high patronage Mr. Felix’s business enjoyed from the people of neighbouring villages due to its closeness, the site for his business became lively and this caused people to move in large numbers to this newly created town.
So if your claims are anything to go by, why then are you people begging Mr. Ekpoudom to relinquish his ticket to akpabio Mind you, Mike Igini isn't a kind of man that play games. Just accept that it is all over for akpabio. APC sending akpabio's name to INEC amount to uselessness, because at the appropriate time, Mr . Udom Ekpoudom's name shall be the name on the ballot for Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District under APC.
You people should keep your kwankwaso, we are keeping our own Peter Obi. Mind you, Obi can't be anybody's VP If voting Obi at the poll means votes wasting, I shall be so delighted to waste my vote on Obi, that I have decided.
Do deputy governors and vice presidential candidates stands for any elections to be so elected in Nigeria The sections of the Electoral Act 2022 ,you are quoting erroneously, does it has to do with the VP emergence. Do you conduct primary elections to elect a Vice Presidential candidate under the Nigerian laws I think Section 33 of the new Electoral Act is very clear & and self explanatory.
