You gave all the curses to Russia but nothing to those who raped, kidnapped, sold millions of Igbos into slavery and finally caged us in Nigeria,I mean Britain.Russia has just liberated four African nations from French neo colonialism. They are by far the better evil than Europeans.
There is no saint, Liberated my left foot, Russia is looking for influence, nobody is a saint, if the four African countries dont play their games well, they will still become pawns

No, it does not. America as a country is also struggling like every other country. They used to be great.
Lol are u a newborn kid to talk like this? America is still the most important country on Earth,it has the largest economy, largest military and very crucial to global affairs...
If China is about to have a new president, common sense will suggest that u must take note, because China is the second most important country after the US...
So it is important to keep tabs on US politics because of the ripple effects it will have worldwide

Just know that Trump is coming with stiffer requirements for immigrants. On the other hand,he is going to reduce American interference or committing resources in international affairs
.
Yes i applaud reducing illegal immigration, i support tighter borders...such issues are very important to everyday people and national security...
Yes that's plausible he will do so...he did so to an extent under his administration....but as America withdraws, China enters the fray....
It will be interesting to watch Trump's polices.. Support for Ukraine is winding down, Biden has invested heavily in America's defense industry courtesy of the Ukraine war, i do not think support will continue much if Trump wins... Biden has done the most important thing...
Trump will have an iron clad support for Isreal....Trump will continue with antagonism of China and iran...
Relationship with Russia may improve as the war winds down...
Trump may pull out troops from Syria and abandon the Kurds....
I do not see much difference as long as major geo-political issues as regards conflicts are concern if trump wins ..US may reduce direct involvement but sell weapons (indirect) it may possibly reduce rate of sanctions...
In summary, US will have less direct involvement in conflicts under Trump, but will have extensive indirect involvement,in weapons sale and providing diplomatic support to whichever side it backs

Politics / Re: Would You Sacrifice Economy Because Of Mass Migration? by Minsk24: 9:12am On Feb 09
While i do not support the ethnic bigotry of the last elections, i could feel and understand the fears of the Yoruba...this is common and can happen to any ethnicity or group...
For example,... I visited my hometown recently and i couldn't recognize it, my small peaceful hometown with a super majority of my igbo-sub group has now been overwhelmed by other people as the city expands... business is booming, people are making money due to population boom, but i could not help but notice that the fabrics of the area has been broken, i could hardly hear my dialect spoken anywhere ..the communal nature of the area is broken, increase in crime due to population, my people are now a minority...
Then i began to wonder and understand the feelings that is spurring the rise of the far-right in Europe, the Republicans in the USA...
Then i say to myself, You either choose economic growth and mass migration, or stagnant economy and low migration...
Its clear that everything comes at a cost ...
What will u choose?
Politics / Would You Sacrifice Economy Because Of Mass Migration? by Minsk24: 9:05am On Feb 09
The events of the last elections in Nigeria shed a light on this sensitive topic... economy and mass migration...
There's no doubt that the economy relys on manpower, skilled and unskilled labour, increase number of consumers and taxpayers...
In some societies, due to aging, skill shortage and other demographic factors, they open the doors to mass migration...some societies even go a great length to ensure the immigrants feel comfortable and part of their society, by offering them pathway to citizenship and even having the rights to vote and contest elections...

We must understand that this mass migration has a lot of disadvantages as it breaks the ethnic fabric of the host society...this in turn can lead to resentment, racism, tribalism, bigotry,e.t.c

You wake up one morning, and u find ur society has changed beyond recognition, people with different languages and religion, people with different habits and practices are now ur neighbors...
You watch your national team play and majority of the players are of a different race, some of your political leaders are from different race... everywhere u go, you see different people, it feels your culture is now diluted...
This is a big issue which every developing society will contend with...if u want a bigger economy, and u dont have the right population for it, u must be ready to open your door, or else.....
Foreign Affairs / Re: Trump Will Win 2024 Elections by Minsk24: 8:56am On Feb 09
The same Trump that has good relationship with Putin vehemently opposed the nord stream2 gas pipeline deal?
Why is that?
America will protect its interest, but how it goes about it will depend on who is in the white house...
And with a rising economic and political tussle with China and Russia, this widens the scope of interests...
Why is America having strategic ambiguity with Taiwan? If u know the answer, then u understand more about strategic interests...
Foreign Affairs / Re: Trump Will Win 2024 Elections by Minsk24: 8:51am On Feb 09
seunmsg:

This is the same scare mongering and bogeyman tactics that Putin talked about in his interview. There is nothing wrong with USA having a normalized and friendly relationship with Russia and China. Trump is open to having a good relationship with Russia, that should be exploited more.

All the conflict that USA is instigating all over the world just so they can keep dominating everyone is becoming stale and counterproductive. They are not offering any stability. It’s time for global peace and partnership and if it’s a Donald Trump that will lead us there, so be it.
Lol, you are so funny and meek in your analysis....what do u mean by good relationship with Russia and China?
First off, these 3 countries are in a strategic tussle for influence, and this influence includes clash in ideologies, clash in economic benefits and lots more...
Politics is not easy as Putin has made you think ..The same Putin invade Ukraine in 2014 and 2021...and also instigated rebellion in Ukraine, the same Russia occupies part of moldova and Georgia...i am not saying there are no valid reasons for Russian actions, but the most strategica reason would be to protect russian interest...
Everybody has interests, and will protect it, what is China doing in the South china sea today? It is protecting its interest, Philippines has called on the USA to station its Navy, why is that?
You think America is going around instigating war..have u asked yourself, what the root causes of problems are?
America is the guarantor of global stability, it is also selfish and defend its interest, Russia is playing victim because it is weak and cannot compete with America..
During Trump's era, he had a cordial relationship with putin, same trump had a tense relationship with Iran,he reinstated sanctions...
Anybody who is in the white house will defend America's interest...and the greatest strength of america is it's alliance all over the world, they dont go to instigate conflict out of the blue, they do with coordination and support of allies...
Peace is not a given in geo-political affairs, it must be protected with deterrence ..

I used to be anti-Trump but no more. Americans ain’t really the best of friends to the rest of the world but with Trump, there is the possibility they would reduce their interference with the rest of the world because he’s an American first guy.
America remains key to the stability of the world, an America that retreats, creates a vacuum which China or Russia will fill... America cannot afford to retreat as china and Russia is on the rise....
Trump's foreign policy of isolating America is a long term disaster in my opinion...it will also harm America's interest....

There is absolutely no legal woes for Trump.
What we have now is just a distraction, probably pre-planned.

You are obviously not a typical democratic voter.
May be you just support some democrats policies or are democrat at state level.
Trump is a poison to the average democratic voters.

If Trump won't be the one on the ballot, I would have ruled Biden out since 1 year ago.
Forget memory lapse and the rest.
Biden is no Hillary who elicit deep personal hatred from some quarters.
And this is not 2016 where some people got swayed by the talker, he already played his cards.

What do u mean pre-planned?
I understand your point to an extent...apart from your traditional Republican and Democrat voter who might stay faithful to party, there are tonnes of independent voters...i feel they might tilt towards trump or Kennedy, bidens faulty memory is horrible and people may prefer the lesser of two evils...
Biden will count massively on youth votes, i feel the memory lapse issue will play into the minds of people...it is really horrible...i have been a staunch Biden supporter since day one, but this memory issue is red line for me...

Barrring any legal woes for the former President, i dont see what will stop him from retaking the white house...
As a Centrist Democrat supporter, i do not think electing Biden will be a good decision on the basis of age and memory lapse, i have been overlooking these lapses, but this recent DOJ report is very damning...
A person with faulty memory should not be president, in his press conference, he even referred to President of mexico as El-Sisi( Egypt)
I also disapprove of Biden's handling of the border, and also the security deterioration of some cities...while i understand the decentralization of Policing in the USA and how Biden approved massive funding for police departments, still i will hold the president accountable for high crime rates...
I really Love Joe Biden, i approve of other major policies of his administration but i don't think he is fit for office...
And i feel the independent candidate might take some votes away from Biden, thereby helping Trump win...
2024 is looking sure for Trump

Politics / Re: What Are Your Thoughts On State Policing by Minsk24: 9:07am On Feb 07
leogho:
The biggest treat to democracy today in Nigeria are the governors and not the presidency as most of us have been brain washed to believe. For a start do you as a resident of your state know how much comes into your state and how it is spent?

In addition to their Federal Allocation and IGRs, they have crippled the LGAs, pocketing their monthly allocations in the process.

Giving them state police is empowering them to continue the criminality.

Accountability first...
Well said boss
Politics / Re: What Are Your Thoughts On State Policing by Minsk24: 9:06am On Feb 07
fergie001:
You have Governors who already are Emperors. They cannot account for the millions they corner as Security votes.
Millions of naira.... We have Governors who have taken over the Assembly, Judiciary and LGAs in their States and you want to hand over State Police over to these Emperors.

Abeg ... What will happen to opposition voices? Let the Govs grant LG, Assembly and Judicial autonomy, perhaps we might start believing them.

Again, they have to stop them to fire whomever is Commissioner of Police at will, and the PSC will have to draw up stringent conditions on working relationships between the State Govt & the Police.
Hmmm, your points are very valid, this means there should be a wide range of constitutional reforms that will pave way for any tangible police reforms

If you know how much our governors are making monthly you won't be saying how much is the security votes.

Lol, is the security votes more than nigeria defence spending? The policing issue in Nigeria is not just only due to lack of funding, there are structural issues which only constitutional and internal (police) reforms can sort out...

ILoveNG:
Although there are a lot of advantages that comes with state police. The most important is that it brings policing closer to the people. We can only enjoy this and other advantages of state police if our states can fund it adequately and if we’ve decided to shun nepotism.

Many people would believe adequate funding alone would guarantee a successful state policing. But the truth is, nepotism poses a greater threat to the success of state policing than funding.

You would understand better if you have had issues in a new state that you visited and you had issues with some indigenes which necessitated that you involve the police, only for the accused indigenes and the officers on duty to start speaking in the indigenous language of the said state, leaving you in total confusion.
This is very true, and u must also factor in the heterogeneity of some states in Nigeria, even now, during elections, there is power tussle between ethnic groups in the state, now if there is complete autonomy to state governors over state police, i fear it may be weaponized ...
