The idea behind wig wearing among Nigerian women has a lot to do with the mainstream standard of beauty in our society and how we see ourselves, which stems from our colonial upbringing. I agree with you 100%. It is going to be Difficult to effect such change because it has been programmed into the subconscious. Also it will probably take years to change and maybe economic growth similar to the west before we realise. I don't think it is bad by itself just the indirect consequences it has on our economy, the way we think and what we prioritise in life as a people

Yeah I agree, but I still think we need to embrace our culture more especially if we want to hasten economic growth. It is actually mental slavery not just to the ladies but also the guys that admire it. Am not saying it is bad but these things contribute to the way we view the world and affect our decision subconsciously. Changing it or making people aware of it might change the society(I think it will do) in more positive ways than we think.
