The name specifies their difference. I cant really pin point their major difference but, elect/elect has more job opportunities in our beloved country, Nigeria.

Jamb subject combo: math, eng, phy and chem.

Waec Requirements: a minimum of 5 credits in math, phy, chem, eng and bio.

Jamb score: just aim 270-280. I didnt say you wont get it if you didnt get up to 270.

Also, elect/elect is the most competitive engineering course in uniben. Also, I didnt say it is the best. Thanks.

are you through with reading for jamb ? This is where most of our problem lies. . . many did this last year and they were devastated when jamb made them realized they were just too fast. Read for your jamb now friend, jamb questions aint that different from pume.

Tell him the truth! If God has destined him, he wont struggle this way. . .so he should not put in for MBBS again! There are better opportunities in many other courses for christ sake!

My brother as much as I'll be tagged the bad guy here, I will sincerely advice you not to apply for this your MBBS again! You said you have written jamb for two years with a score below 240 and scored 56% in their pume, huh ? I advice you not to apply for medicine because you will hardly get it! That's the plain truth! I will advice you to go for other course still within that area of study e.g nursing, med rehab, micro bio etc. . .because even if you were given the MBBS , you may not be able to finish the MBBS since it requires maximum concentration and you said you are sponsoring yourself. So, I would say you should go for this agriculture and try Jamb again. . .remember, a bird at hand is worth millions in the bush. To remind you, Jamb is as easy as pie so, its never a gamble.

Commentary Remarks for DELSU

Delsu has always displayed an unimaginable performance and I always watch them with keen interest as they do their job. But, however, their last two debates were marred by their inability to refute opponents argument(rebuttal) properly even when I, everyone, had expected them to do it nicely and neatly. Considering the quality of the unilag reps, I know they must have by now been preparing themselves to work on this deficient area of Delsu if they are to pull more points against them, no doubt. Unlike Dr Amanda, Maxwellokuma and Epaul need to be firm and consistent when refuting arguments. Also, looking at the last outing of Delsu which was characterized by dullness, inanimateness and lifelessness; although they won, one would have expected them to score an excellent victory over Abuzaria, but, again, since they lack the vigour in the rebuttal stage, they lost valuable points even when they were two (epaul vs maxwellokuma) against abuzaria's finest, mhyke. I, sincerely, expected them to show a high degree of knowledge on a favourable topic as: “childhood experience is responsible for how people turn out? ”

I am always of the opinion that the quality of a good speaker is only seen in an impromptu speech but sadly, Delsu lacks this spice—inability to puncture and amend punctured arguments very well. The only saving grace of Delsu is the presence of Epaul and this is attributed to his quality presentation and excellent writeup which has always been seasoned with fine connectivity and with such writeup still in the judges' frame of mind, Delsu will surely attract more points to herself despite her shortcomings.

Although Delsu has all the quality debaters you can think of , if they are to see the very face of next round, Epaul and Dr Amanda need to walk side by side to tread the harsh terrain of Unilag, a formidable opponent. Truly, while Epaul needs to prove his worth, Delsu needs to step-up their game.

This is the current trend in Nigeria, incessant strike actions.

Two weeks after the Academic Staff Union of Universities suspended its strike,lecturers in the Colleges of Education are set to begin a nationwide strike on Tuesday(today).

This was stated in a letter served on the Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike and a copy obtained by our correspondent in Abuja. The letter was delivered by the General Secretary of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, Mr. Nuhu.Ogirima, who lamented that the Federal Government had failed to address issues raised by the union.

The union’s complaints are.infrastructural decay, poor funding, non-implementation of the 2010 FG-COEASU Agreement, poor conditions of service, brain drain and illegal imposition of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System. In the letter signed by the COEASU National President, Asagha Nkoro and Ogirima, the union accused the
government of directing the National Commission for Colleges of Education to
impose the IPPIS on colleges without recourse to earlier meetings by parties.

It said, “While government held series of talks with the union leadership between September and December 2013, evidence abound that government does not wish to keep her side of the bargain in meeting the understanding reached at such meetings.

“This, without equivocation, is unacceptable to our union given the peculiar high nuisance and volatile nature of the colleges of education sector.

“More so, but for the constitution and inauguration of the Needs Assessment
Committee, government merely paid lip services to all other issues, highlighted
in our earlier correspondences.”

COEASU complained about discrimination against lecturers in colleges of education which includes.refusal to fund the Peculiar and Responsibility Allowances as obtainable in Earned Allowances of the universities; refusal to implement the migration of lower cadres as obtainable in polytechnics; and non-accreditation of
programmes of the colleges of education among others.

In compliance with the resolution of its Expanded National Executive Council
Meeting, COEASU said its members had been directed to resume a full scale strike action suspended earlier this year, “unless and until government meets the demands”.

In an interview with our correspondent, Ogirima said the union embarked on the
strike due to the attitude of the
government. He said, “You would recall that we observed a week warning strike earlier this year and the Federal Government called us for talks. Sadly, but for the NEEDS Assessment Committee which government inaugurated, all other issues remain unattended in spite of the
over six (6) months of dialogue.

“We, therefore, have no alternative but to embark on the strike action since this
appears to be the only language gov’t understands.” When contacted, Wike’s Special Assistant(Media), Simeon Nwakaudu promised to address the issues raised by the lecturers today.
