Bro, I totally and honestly agree with you on this because technically speaking, Canada is in recession as we speak. I worked in Alberta for 2 years before moving to Ontario last year. But guess what, Ontario is not doing too bad AT ALL. There are jobs here and I am talking about professional jobs in Engineering and IT. I can confidently say there are professional jobs in Ontario. For example, I convinced my friend in Civil to move from Edmonton to Toronto just 3 months ago and bro, he got at least 3 job offers with numerous interview. Now he has a job in his field. Same thing for me. I started my M.Sc at The U of Toronto in Sept because of the Oil crash but I was able to get a full time professional job and I switched schooling to part time plus work full time now.

One reason is due to the relatively weaker Canadian dollar against the US dollar nowadays, Manufacturing Automotive companies in the US are doing more of their manufacturing here in Canada because they would save more especially when we talk about millions of dollars worth of project, and as Canada is the largest trading partner (country) the US has when you combine import and export. Just like my company, we have a plant in Michigan and most of the job is done in the GTA these days.

But yeah, just like you said, no job is in high demand like the health sector even when the economy is booming.
Please man, I intend doing my masters in civil engineering in Canada. I need some clarification as regards the choice Msc or Meng... I would love to work in an industry or companies after graduation. With this in mind, som persons keep saying I should go for MSc. Is MSc or Meng a factor for employment?

Evening Everyone,

I heard about the rejection emails sent out by SINRem today and I will love to share my experience. I got this same email around this time last year and I was devastated. However, i didn't allow that break my spirit. A rejection mail doesn't necessarily mean that one is not good enough, it simply means the time is not yet right. I say this because I was quite pessimistic while applying this year that I didn't even bother sending my documents as required, infact i didn't want to complete my application sef until i got a reminder email few days to the deadline. So, that i got selected despite all these "laziness" shows an astounding God factor and timing. And talking about rejection mails, I still even got one from another application right before I got called by SINRem that morning.

Therefore, I hope this short story of mine will inspire you to not lose hope but rather involve God more in subsequent applications. Only HIM can make it happen and that's the secret, no more no less! I will share some of my application materials in due time anyways.

All the best everyone and God bless the works of our hands!!! Thank you.
When does application open for Erasmus? I mean the month of the year. What prerequisites do I need to have before application opens? Is it available for any country abroad? Can engineers apply?

They should merge & form a party. Though Moghalu is better suited as the presidential candidate, he should run as vp because he's an Ibo. The north will not vote for an Ibo president. Sowore or Durotoye should run as the number one man. I hope they also pick a vibrant young man frm North west to join them. Also that YPP vp ... that muslim woman.... I mean Getso. She's an asset. They should hold her close too

The north already feel cheated by the yorubas. Who will the north support in 2023? Certainly not ibos too. A south-south man? That would be the problem soon. Since apc will not zone to the north for fariness to party members & stakeholders, If PDP zones to the north, the northerners I know will gladly vote him in.... even if it's the Atiku they rejected this time. Power is intoxicating....

Moukandjo:
Park well! Which one is "Moghalu might even be a better liar"? Your last sentence already shows you would even prefer the shameless international thief to Moghalu any day. No dey delude yourself that you would have preferred Moghalu!
How can a shameless international thief who built his university WHILE ASUU was on strike in 2003 with even looted funds be better than a Buhari who's even clearing the mess of his fraudulent privatization by paying those innocent pensioners?

You also don't know he was the head of the economic team that supervised the over 500% increase in the naira to dollar exchange rate just within their first tenure from N23 when they assumed office in 1999 to N130 in 2003? Do you want another 500% increase in the exchange rate so we can start exchanging 1 dollar at N1200 like he did back then in his first tenure if he becomes President?
Keep on delving to the past like the lifeless one. Atiku, like osibanjo, was a vp then & there's little or nothing he can do that matters much. Nonetheless, for what it's worth, Obasanjo is still the best president from 1999 till present. Call him names, call him anything ... he's the best. U will be a wise fool if u think buhari, tinubu, osibanjo, amaechi and others are not stealing our common wealth

I was like you after I saw Moghalu during the debate with so much passion. This country needs people like Moghalu to pilot her affairs. Personally, I am a progressive Nigerian who wants the best for Nigeria. Atiku is a thief, a criminal and should be locked up & so is Obasanjo and even buhari. They are same cycle of friends with different narratives to steal our comm wealth. It grieves my heart to see that Moghalu doesn't stand a chance.... U claim to be more progressive than me but how have u supported them? Moghalu foundation on fb solicits assistance for campaign.... as little as 1k. I donated 2k & even though I know it's nothing, I had to because I know there's hope.

Before I heard the election was postponed on Saturday, I had to make my final Decision and settle for atiku because I can't settle for Buhari again. Whether me & u vote for Moghalu or not, he won't stand a percent of atiku or Buhari's vote. Think about those people in villages with no phones, light, or anything of the 21st century.... Those don't know our Moghalu and will settle for Buhari or atiku. Give or take, I faced reality and made a choice. U can whyne all day but Atiku is best for our democracy now.

In the future, I hope to spearhead progressives forward. Just so u know, I'm not affiliated to any party & will almost never benefit from who wins because I'm one of those masses the govt don't care about. Thanks & I'm off here man.... Peace.

Atiku bawo? Thats the problem with this country, being more partisan and emotional. Why must it always be a 2 horse race between PDP & APC? Ain't there better candidates in other parties? Recycling will never take us anywhere. Until we let the likes of Moghalu and the rest know they actually stand a chance then this country will continue to be in bondage. My two cents
I agree with u.... Moghalu is actually the best candidate for the seat but to be realistic, he might not win his ward & a lot of Nigerians don't know him. Be realistic and vote Buhari out first then 2023 we will think of them but we all know this is either buhari or atiku...

Besides, Moghalu might just be a better liar.... U never can tell

Please, we must do everything we can to vote Buhari out.

In 2015, he was the best option & I voted for him but this time around, he's the worst.

I voted him in 2015 because he wanted to fight corruption & bring change. I am grateful he fought "corruption."

Now, it's only fair we bring someone to fight poverty & change the "change"

Atiku stands a better chance of defeating buhari & so, I'll vote for him. Thanks

I decided to check my result yesterday only to see F parallel and some good grades out of 10 courses.
Pls am 22 and I need to pass so I can get a good job after graduation.
I know I didn't give my books much attention this semester.

I am confused because I will be asked to withdraw if I get a cgpa less than 2.0 on a scale of 5 after second semester and don't meet the 10-8-8 requirement which I am very far from.

CAN I GRADUATE WITH A FIRST CLASS STILL?

The most annoying thing with you is not the fact that u made 0.2gpa but u keep saying you are intelligent. It's so annoying. Do u know what is 0.2gpa? I have never heard of it. This gpa cannot flash mtn to mtn. Anyone that tells u u can make first class lke this is very foolish as u & just giving you nonsense hope. A guy in my class that made a 2.2gpa in year1 & is currently making 4.9 for about 3sessions now will likely not even make first class & our year one in Engineering is about 10% as ur school. Older than you think. Why did your people wait till GEJ brought the maritime university to that land, they realized the real name of the place is Okerengigho and not Okerenkoko. If the maritime university is not in play, will they have ever remembered that the land was taken from them? If you can answer this question truthfully and without bias, then i'll rest my case.
Ur foolhardiness never cease to amaze me. I can guess you have never been to law courts before. This is a case of ownership. The court or any sensible human does not care when a case is brought up.... It could be today or next 1000years. The issue is this: who has the land? What proof(s) back your claim? Simple & short! pls u don't know anything, its time for ijaws to become more violent against Nigeria fg
BEING A TEXT OF AN ADDRESS DELIVERED BY THE PRESIDENT OF ITSEKIRI NATIONAL YOUTHS COUNCIL ON AN OCCASION OF AN INTERFACE WITH MEMBERS OF CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS IN WARRI.

In every human society, for there to be form, shape and orderliness, there is always a supreme entity whose dictates and provision is final and it is this finality vested in this supremacy that gives rise to sovereignty which all sovereign nations of the world enjoys to ensure internal orderliness and its independence "Equal justice under law is not merely a caption on the facade of the Supreme Court building, it is perhaps the most inspiring ideal of our society. It is one of the ends for which our entire legal system exists...it is fundamental that justice should be the same, in substance and availability, without regard to economic status" Lewis Powell, Jr.

No wonder as granted by our constitution in a constitutional democracy, we have three arms of government viz: the judiciary, legislative and executive that are saddled with the responsibility of interpreting the law, making law and enforcing the law respectively.

In the case of the National Maritime University, Okerenghigho, among these three arms of government, the judiciary, through the Supreme Court, the highest court in our land, in the course of performing it's constitutional responsibility has affirmed that the land is Okerenghigho and belongs to the Itsekiri people of Omadino.

The executive arm of government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, the chief law officer of the federation in the course of performing its constitutional responsibilities after a critical examination of the position of the law having being equipped with the Supreme Court Judgement on this subject matter, has written to the National Assembly to recognize Okerenghigho as the legal and aboriginal name of the location.

What this implies is that among the three arms of government saddled with constitutional responsibility of ensuring orderliness in the country, two have already given credence constitutionally to the recognition of the said place as Okerenghigho and as belonging to the Itsekiri people of Omadino.

This of couse now leaves us with one arm of government which is the legislative.

At the legislature today, for the bill to be considered as being successfully passes in a bicameral legislature arrangement where we have the Senate and the House of Representatives, both houses must differently pass the bill and move to the level of concurrence where they will harmonies before the bill is finally conisidered for passage and sent to the President for accent.

As at today, it is only the Senate that has erroneously passed the bill. The House of Representatives just recently did their public hearing on the bill and everyone knows what transpired at the floor of the public hearing, where our representatives referred the attention of the committee to paragraph 8 of section 2 of part 2 of chapter one of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria as amended which barred the National Assembly from reviewing or ousting the decision of the Supreme Court.

The implication of all of these analysis are as follows:

1. The President will never accent to the bill even if the National Assembly erroneously passed it to disregard the Supreme Court judgement and the advice of the attorney general of the federation.

2. Among the three arms of government saddled with constitutional responsibility of ensuring law and orderliness in Nigeria, two are already on the side of truth and justice.

3. Since it is only the Senate that has erroneously passed the bill, and we have several stages to go before the bill is finally passed, the arrival of the memo from the office of the attorney general of the federation to the National Assembly is very timely, just as Theodore Roosevelt once said "Justice consists not in being neutral between right and wrong, but in finding out the right and upholding it, wherever found against the wrong" the onus now rest on the National Assembly to do the needful in accordance with the position of the law.

Owing to the unnecessary noise generated by postion of these two arms of government on this subject matter, the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for justice to be denied. Consequently, the attention of the whole world, civil society groups particularly the Nigeria bar association is now on the National Assembly to see whether in the course of passing the final bill into law, it will align itself with the position of the law and the other two arms of government or it will oust the position of the Supreme Court on the subject matter.

While we call for calm and orderliness as we wait for the pronouncement from the National Assembly, we thank all those that have shown solidarity to the enthronement of justice in this case, we shall not fail to reteirate as earlier published in our Deghele's declaration that we are prepared to defend every parcel of land with our last blood.

We leave our conscience with the words of Frederick Douglass "Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe"

We are open to discuss peace and not territory.

I remain,

Comr. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro

10- Listen my brothers of Delta State, whatever you are arguing now will never benefit any of you.

9- I don't care to know about the actual existence of Okerenkoko as a land in delta state but, I know for a fact that the land is a community in Gbaramatu Kingdom of Delta and its populated by Ijaws.

8- The Marinetime University is situated to benefit all of us(especially the deltans) regardless of where it is situated or whose land it is sited.

7-We should stop acting as willing tools to disrupt peace in the Delta.

6- We are not ready for another war among ourselves. we should focus our strength on fighting for our collective wealth across the Niger Deltan states. our enemies should be the North and those who oppress us in the pretext of brothers.

5- Binis and Yorubas are only instigating us in other for us to end up seeing them as our lords and kings. they are not instigating you because they love your peace.

4- We need no Prophet to tell us that the Ijaws especially have been in the forefront when it comes to the Niger Deltan Struggle (which other ethnic nations have been benefiting). Hence have lost many of their bright stars in the struggle, it is not right for any other ethnic group in the Delta to start meaningless trouble with them(only the ungrateful)

3- The Maritime University Situated In the land is by the Effort of one man in the Niger Delta(you need no prophet to tell you that it was Tompolo)

2- The University was staled by the present administration, and it took the effort of another freedom fighters in the Niger Delta(Niger Delta Avengers,) To trouble the president Administration to continue with the Project( V.P even had to visit Gbaramatu Kingdom to make a bold declaration) You need no prophet to tell the ethnic nationality behind those faceless freedom fighters

1- We are not ready for another ethnic war in the Niger Delta. remember the last war we had, it didn't benefit anyone.. even the recent spites by the Binis in Edo state was tamed by the Governor proposing peace to the Ijaws in the state..

Lalasticlala, Mynd44. Adafonju, datazone. coputa, miscellaneous
You are simply misguided. An Itsekiri man actually brought the idea of maritime university and it was proposed for warri north. But, surprisingly, the Ijaws as Always being mischievous used ethnic alliance with goodluck Jonathan to scuttle the university to okerenghigho( cum okerenkoko) by sacking the itsekiri man in office wnd replacing it with ijaw man thereby acquiring land somewhere else but God has always been for the most recognized minorities in Nigeria- Itsekiris.

Truth trampled upon will surely come to light. Even if Ijaws win it today the issue will come again till justice is done because the highest court in the country has ruled in favor of the Itsekiri. Ijaws should know that very soon, guns won't save them & Itsekiris will use our court papers to claim back all our lands. Mark my words.... no matter how long. The era of gun is gradually fading & threat is no longer holding water... a fact that can hardly be denied
