We were scrolling through our Instagram feed today and ran across this post from @thehumansoflagos. We reposted it on our weddings IG account and it has garnered over 500 comments so far!

A lot of people are finding it difficult to believe, blaming the lady, while some are finding fault with her parents.

Here’s the story that has a lot of people have been talking about this evening.

“My girlfriend left me 4 years ago, we started dating when we were in JS3 and we planned to get married as soon as we finish Uni and get good jobs. After graduation and NYSC I applied for jobs but didn’t get any.

I had this childhood friend, he already had a job and was doing well. We were not that close but we grew up in the same area and went to school together at some point so I consider him a friend and he knew I was dating my girl. One day, my girlfriend told me he asked for her hand in marriage. I was very angry, he knew we were together and have intentions of getting married once I find my feet.

Before I knew what was happening, he took drinks to her parents and they accepted him knowing fully well me and their daughter had plans. My girl cried and cried, she didn’t want to get married to him but her parents pushed her and she eventually agreed.

It was the lowest point of my life, I locked myself inside for weeks and even thought of committing suicide. She was the love of my life and it really affected me. I’ll be 28 in a few weeks and the only thing that matters to me now is work, happiness and becoming a better man.

They’ve been married for 4 years but she hasn’t been able to conceive. She said her mum told her to go and beg me and ask for my forgiveness. I told her I have nothing against her, I wasn’t ready and it wasn’t her fault. I’m actually not happy she hasn’t conceived and I do pray God Blesses their Union.” #HumansOfLagos

Ahem. So, we men love women. We love to hug them(vampire dairies) we love to bash them(naira land) we love to straff them( ) However, there are some things that women do that sometimes make us want to connect their heads with a nice brick at high speeds.

Lol. A guy spends a lot of time to check you out and finally finds time to approach you for wooing, only to suddenly be lectured about compatibility. Okay, there is nothing wrong in just saying, I'm not interested, I have a boyfriend already, i'm born again . . .etc . . must you insult his intelligence by implying that he does not know how to choose people he woos? The worst part is, most girls even say this to guys they like! Why When you say this to a guy, he and his friends will make fun of you for hours . . .

Okay, not funny abeg. We really don't care about that. I mean, I can't even explain how dumb of an excuse that is. How are we to know that that "Love Machine" was not actually an erect joystick? your mother . . . .(insults)

What ever you do in your life, insulting a man's mother will be one of the worst choices you can ever make. We respect our mothers and love them a lot. This does not make us immature or stupid as some would opine. It is simply a case of not being an ungrateful bastard. Even if a guy has his mother under gun point and it seems like he is going to shoot her, don't insult her. Or he might shoot you instead. Why? Because she totally took care of us before we were tall, dark, handsome, rich, pinklipped, smart . . . and before you came into the picture.

Ahhh . . . . the above is a very bad way to begin a sentence. Especially when talking to a guy. You simply do not compare a man to other men. That's really annoying. In other words, he is a slowpoke, he is not up to the societal standards, right? No MAN will ever take that poo from you. There are other ways to make a man to do whatever you want. Insulting his self worth by comparing him to his mates is very dangerously annoying. By the way, what about you? Your mates are out there dating iyanya and you are here straffing his broke ass. Gbam!

you are like a brother to me . . .

A.K.A, the declaration of Friendzone. Well, it's not a good statement. Especially if he really has behaved like a brother to you. I mean, isn't it obvious? Who does that if not for the . . . prize?
Actually, this is more of a dilemma. It's obvious you can't fall in love with all of your male friends. So, if one of them asked, it's kind of natural to tell them the above, hoping that will make them happy. . . . well, IT DOESN'T! it is a lot better to just say the truth. That you have no feelings for them. But Wetin? Like a broth . . . are you kidding me?

How do I look?

First off, we are not fashion designers. Second, you have your own eyes, and a mirror. Third, no matter what we say, you are going to wear whatever you like. The third is why it is really annoying. I mean for crying out loud, jusy ten minutes before the outing, she asks if this blue dress looks good on her, you nod enthusiastically, only for her to go in and bring ANOTHER! While asking the same question! Wtf?!!

You look worried or angry and sad. Out of the love he has for you, he asks what the matter is. You say nothing. Yes, saying nothing is very annoying to guys. First, we know that is a blatant lie. Second, we know that if we pretend to believe you, you will get annoyed. Third, we know that if we let you know that you just told a blatant lie, you will get annoyed. Fourth, we know that if we try to guess, you will get annoyed. Now, tell me, who would not get angry with this knowledge?

I read ur post and was concerned about what the pastor said to you. If the pastor truly said this then u are probably in the WRONG hands. This is the problem today. Some "Christian" who run churches feel it is okay to entice people to their churches by making saying "prophetic" things about how u would have been successful and prosperous if only u had Christ.

Yes Christ says he will meet our needs but never promised material wealth or worldly suCcess. If this were the case then all Christians will have a Bentley in the garage and a villa in Monaco.

If you chose to come to Christ because of the "sweet talking Christian" then u are most likely converting for the wrong reason.

If you chose to read the gospels (new testament) and Christ's message touches your heart then you are in the right path to truly experiencing Christ's salvation.

Be careful of false Christians, especially sweet talking church business owners who aggressively seek the contents of your pocket. However, there are also tonnes of really Good bible reading churches around who truly teach Christ's gospel and message of salvation. Christ will meet your needs and can make you wealthy. But material prosperity is not a reason to leave your religion, a tonne of atheists are rich but does that mean that Christ loves them more than Christians struggling to make a living, of course not.

I would hope that you read the gospel and become a Christian one day but your current reason is not a true one.

Yeah Bro... Am also a grad... I finished my youth service march 2015,n i was posted to imeko afon for d inec stuff, although i served in abia State. Right now, am collecting thrift (daily contributn) frm market woman at itoku, sapon, kuto market... I used d money in making some businesses n b4 d end of each month, i av alot of return... what makes it rubbish Dis is very true. I pity dose who follow dis principles of deir pastors. Dey will hardly get deir rite choice(meaning limiting ur scope). Guy u need to study ur Bible more. Do u know that Our Lord Jesus Christ will not come with same name again? Do u know He has a NEW NAME with the Father? Are u also implying that His New Name is void of power since its not Jesus?

When Leader O. O. Obu say repent, He meant u should repent from sinful ways and accept the free salvation that Christ purchased for mankind

I will say what He didn't say. Leader Olumba Olumba Obu has never said He was God, Christ, Angels or a prophet. He simply said He came from heaven and has attributed the power working in BCS as the power of God.

He said His identity is only known to Him alone. He warned us stop asking about His origin but to practise His teachings which are centered on Peace, Righteousness and True Holiness.

To me, in Him is the Holy Spirit personified even though He never atributed such to Himself. How else can i describe a man whose name carries so great power that no evil forces can stand it? How can i describe a man who manifests Himself in different nations, cities, planets, under the water and many families at the same time when He is physically seated at 34 Ambo street in calabar? How can i describe a man who will just utter a word and the problem is solved?

This is not the time to debate about His identity but to repent and do the will of God because judgement has started
