Jeromejnr: Evidences abound in scriptures
"And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost for they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered,"
Look at that word FOR there. What does it imply in the English language and in context of this verse.
Also:
"And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues,"
Also:
"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." you try oh.I can't waste my time arguing oh. |

Christianity Etc › Re: ALL Pentecostals Should Read This by misreal(m): 5:00pm On Sep 11, 2015 |
vooks: First, there is no scripture that says one needs evidence of baptism of Holy Spirit much less that the evidence being tongues. That is doctrines of men that make the word of God of non-effect.
What evidence do you have that you are born again? What about evidence that your name is written in the book of life? Or better, that your sins are forgiven? mtchwww..the evidence of the baptism of the holy ghost is not in speaking in tongues abi??mtchhhhhww...you win bros..I don't argue these things oh.. |

Christianity Etc › Re: ALL Pentecostals Should Read This by misreal(m): 4:21pm On Sep 11, 2015 |
Jeromejnr: I need help bro.
I would have gone through scriptures with you but no time. I told you how this works in experience. Summary: There is a tongue as a sign to unbelievers that comes as God wills. E.g. Speaking in language to foreign locals. And you don't know what you said but they do. And also the one for edification of the body of Christ which comes with interpretation either from you or another person. This comes as God wills.
There is a prayer and worship one, you can start it as you will and can also be in others peoples languages or tongues of angels. This is spoken to God and not men. And received at the baptism. This was the one Jesus said, in My Name they will do.
The Corinthian church messed everything up and mixed it. So Paul had to correct it. will you be able to explain all these at once |
Christianity Etc › Re: ALL Pentecostals Should Read This by misreal(m): 4:19pm On Sep 11, 2015 |
vooks: I don't understand why some Pentecostals imagine spiritual gifts are a mark of spirituality or maturity. Many like me received the gift of tongues within 24 hours of receiving Christ. Tongues are no maturity. Maturity is measured by the fruit of the Spirit mtchhww..go jorh..you have the gift of tongues but you are not a pentecostal..guy a beg no disturb me,I don't enjoy arguing about this things. |

dmandy: Okay, you came back.
I love your tactis.
You can tell that I am not born again. I laugh you again.
My no3 is logically correct, but spiritually wrong. waoh... He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself, but he that prophesies edifies the congregation cor 14:4
my no2 wrong, woah... You indeed have a relationship with the holy spirit who told you that without speaking in tongues miracles cannot be wrought. okay sir. There are different kinds of gifts. But they are all given to believers by the same Spirit. 5 There are different ways to serve. But they all come from the same Lord. 6 There are different ways the Spirit works. But the same God is working in all these ways and in all people. Cor 12:4. God gives the gifts, the gifts don't give God. smh
You don't know me, yet it is not necessary. are you born again? |
Christianity Etc › Re: ALL Pentecostals Should Read This by misreal(m): 3:19pm On Sep 11, 2015 |
dmandy: 1. Granted, people speak fake tongues. Which is why I said, its not tongues that work miracles.
2. Wrong, the power of God is rather manifested in the gifts of the Holy spirit. Are you for real? You need the gift to attract the one giving the gifts. Man, you need to start reading.
3. Speaking in tongues activates your faith.. it edifies you not the power of God.
4. The Holy Ghost lives inside of you, yes. And the Holy ghost speaks when He want to speak. And He is the one who speaks not you. hahahahahahhaah...your no2 shows ignorance of how the gifts of the spirit operates....your no3 is logically correct but spiritually inaccurate.. I don't know who you are or where you are from, but I am sure you don't have any relationship with the holy spirit..are you even born again? |
Christianity Etc › Re: ALL Pentecostals Should Read This by misreal(m): 2:47pm On Sep 11, 2015 |
dmandy: I believe the bold.
But that is not why everybody cannot pray for the sick and get result. Now, you are placing undue emphasis on the gift.
Think, cases abound where persons don't speak in tongues yet get results. The only thing needed is the power of God.
There are cases again, where people commit all sorts of things speaking in tongues.
Be guided sir. people speak fake tongues does not mean they are no person that are truly baptise in the holy ghost.the gifts of the sprit are the means through which the power of God is released..I am saying what I av experienced oh,not what a pastor or priest told me..speaking in tongues activates the power of God in you, because the holy ghost lives inside of us. |
Christianity Etc › Re: ALL Pentecostals Should Read This by misreal(m): 2:02pm On Sep 11, 2015 |
dmandy: Bros,
In as much as I don't quite agree with the OP, that is his own opinion. I still deem it necessary to disagree with your last statement @bold.
Its not the tongues that are used in casting out demons and healing! It is the power of God (in the Name of Jesus) that heals and delivers. The tongues are only but gifts, and the bible clearly stated that "by their fruits 'not gifts' you know them".
Think, those that feed people snakes and grass and petrol are all speaking in tongues.
Those that make people suck their manhood are speaking in tongues.
please, its not the tongues. speaking in tongues builds up supernatural faith in you.that is why not everybody can just pray for the sick and get results.jude1:20..tongues is extremely necessary to experience the supernatural power of God. |

bakynes: 85 rating that means you don't know how to play. I use an Arsenal side with no player above 85 in rating and I use them to beat Real Madrid, Barca and Bayern Munchen with alot of 85+ players rating. The only way you can learn how to play better is to use lower teams against big teams. You will learn how to defend their top class attack and be creative to score their top class defence. Those rating are even average. I prefer a chamberlain who has pace of about 90 but average of 81 to some players with average of 85 but less than 80 pace. nice tip |

citizenisb: JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s decision to exclude Nigeria from its local-currency emerging-market bond indexes tops a year of pain for a nation reeling from a collapse in oil prices, slowing growth and a lack of economic leadership.
Nigeria has gone almost full circle from a favored investor destination in Africa three years ago -- because of its status as the continent’s largest crude producer and most populous nation -- to being rebuffed. While most of the weakening sentiment is due to the more than halving in oil prices since last year, a series of missteps by the central bank and President Muhammadu Buhari’s delay in appointing an economic team are adding to the slide.
The JPMorgan news is “a clear signal of dampened investor sentiment,” Manji Cheto, vice president of Teneo Intelligence in London, said by phone on Wednesday. “For things to turn around so quickly in three years’ time shows how important it is for governments to recognize that market sentiment is so fickle, and I don’t think the Nigerian government ever really understood this.”
“There will be a significant capital outflow,” Seun Olanipekun, an analyst at Investment One Financial Services Ltd., said by phone from Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital.
“The major consequence will be the loss of confidence by offshore investors in our markets. The fact that the Central Bank of Nigeria had time to take action and they failed to do so will negatively impact how the monetary authorities are viewed by the international community.”

The wealth of some pastors are not from offerings and tithes (some oo not all) so why do we criticise them. a pastor is suppose to be a representative of God.on earth„likewise other Christians.a pastor, should be rich or at least comfortable or I don't think he has any right to preach God as a being that can prosper others. it is myopicness that makes men think that pastors should be poor...my opinion tho |
