Christianity EtcRe: Deeper Life Bible Church Among Other Churches? by misreal(m): 6:57pm On Jul 12, 2015
Seemyfather:
Good day house. There is this question I that has been bordering my heart which I will like to throw it to the house as well. Hmmmmm, I do observers that most/many of our politicians hardly or find it difficult going to any of the Deeper Life Bible Church, during their political campaign tour unlike every other Churches like that of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Living Faith Church a.k.a Winner's Chapel, The Lord Chosen, among others.

Of a recent, we will observed that both President Jonathan and General Mohammed Buhari, had in one way or the other visited RCCG during their political campaign tour among others except for that of Deeper Life Bible Church, be it at there state, local or at there National Headquarters.

Now I want to ask; is it that Deeper Life Bible Church its Founder (GS) is not that known to them at all 'ni' or is there anything making them run or stay away from the church during their political campaign 'ni' or what?

Your unbiased opinions or answers would go a long way.

Thank you.
it is because deeper life is what a church should be like.

Christianity EtcRe: List: 30 Pairs Of Bible Verses That Contradict One Another by misreal(m): 2:47pm On Jul 12, 2015
SuperSuave:
This is not the first time I noticed some bible verses are actually saying the opposite of another. Isn't the gospel supposed to be preached in one accord? I first noticed that Jesus Christ actually turned water into wine(alcoholic wine not fruit wine cos my Yoruba bible says "oti wine"wink which means Jesus somehow endorses wine. In the same Bible again I saw in Galatians(can't remember the chapter and verse), where the fruits of the flesh were listed, drunkenness was listed also. undecided

Another thing that ultimately made no sense was the whole Old Testament/New Testament conundrum. God actually changes his mind? In Leviticus, God lays down a bunch of laws and calls them “everlasting.” Then in the New Testament, we suddenly hear this:

For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second. —Hebrews 8:7

Another one was when God brought a sheet unto Peter which contained various four-legged and two-legged animals and beasts of different kind, then God told Peter to arise, kill and eat. Peter refused saying he cannot eat unclean things, God rebuked him by saying how can he(Peter) call the things He(God) created unclean?

And later I read another verse where God outlined the forbidden animals, birds and beasts we should not eat. undecided

I was confused, so I went online to checkout if there are more Bible verses that contradicts one another, the ones I found are listed below

Atheists should keep off this thread pls

Actually your problem is that you don't know how to recognise the voice of God.

And BTW ppl change, don't think because she's a good Christian now that it might be like that forever. Only God knows the future. That's why its still important to seek Him.

Right now it might even be hard for you to recognise God's leading because your heart has already been clouded by your "love" for the girl. You have to try to put yourself in neutral by being ready to obey what ever God tells you if you should go on with her or not.

Trust me man. Right now you, Might be enraptured with love for her but if she's not God's will for you, you might regret greatly.
he will definitely regret it.mr op,you can't know the will of God until you know the voice of God.my question is,how is your relationship with God??

Without Power minister:
- Electricity supply has greatly improved

Without Petroleum minister:
- refineries are almost fully revamped, to commence production within a month.

- Disappearance of fuel queues without oil marketers holding country to ransom.

- Stoppage of phantom fuel subsidy payments to the cabal, & reducing it from over N5b to N1.8b per day.

Without Finance minister:
- External reserves increased by $3b in a month.
- Bailout to states to clear 8 months salary arrears.
- Closure of all secret govt accounts.
- Maintenance of a single Federation Account for all FG revenues.

Without External Affairs minister:
- Secured multilateral cooperation of all neighbouring countries for a MJTF against Boko Haram.

- G7 cooperation and support in fight against insurgents.

Without Commerce & Trade minister:

- Concluded package to revamp local industries.
-Again a marching order for the resuscitation of our dead Textile Industries was given.

All in barely a month!

Foreign AffairsRe: ANTI-GAY LAW: We’ll Pressure Nigeria To Reverse The Law – United States by misreal(m): 11:44am On Jul 12, 2015
Built2last:
The United States government has vowed to continue to press the Nigerian government to reverse its anti-gay law.
The US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said this during a live-web chat with journalists in Washington. Our correspondent monitored the web chat in Abuja.

Thomas-Greenfield also said that America was not bothered that Chinese companies were fast taking over the African market from their US counterparts.

President Goodluck Jonathan had on January 7, 2014 assented to the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Bill 2013 which criminalises homosexuality in the country.

On January 14 when it became public that the President had signed the bill into law, the US, Canada and the European Union openly expressed reservations over the law.

Thomas-Greenfield, who said the US had adopted the protection of the rights of same-sex people as part of its foreign policies, vowed that Washington would continue to mount and sustain pressure on Nigeria and other countries to reverse their laws against the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community.

She said, “As a government, it is one of the highest priorities and strongest values that discrimination against anyone based on their sexual orientation and gender identity is wrong. We believe human rights should be available to everybody.

“As a policy, we will continue to press the government of Nigeria as well as other governments who have provided legislation that discriminate against the LGBT community.”

Thomas-Greenfiled, who did not agree that pressuring Nigeria to reverse the anti-gay law amounted to interference, said the country and Uganda had the hardest legislation on the gay community.

She said, “This is very much a work in progress, but I think you will agree with me that the law in Nigeria really went far in discriminating against this community but also people who associate with them.

“So we will continue to press the government, to press the legislature to change these laws and provide human rights for all Nigerian people regardless of their sexual orientation.”

She, however, did not disclose if the US would impose sanctions on the countries with anti-gay laws to achieve its objectives.

Thomas-Greenfield was optimistic that the U.S would win the fight to protect the LGBT community.

She said, “With what is happening in the US, you can determine how far we are willing to go. We strongly believe human rights for all people and we are particularly opposed to legislation that actually targets the gay community for discrimination. So we are prepared to push this as a policy not just in Africa but across the world.”

You really should learn how to get your points across.

perry2020:
Good morning brother, sorry about ur plight, yes ur wife is wrong but have u thought of why she is actually "flirting".sometimes when things get very boring some women love to switch things up,checkout a new or an ex and see the lattest with men, ofcoz they will go on dates to nice places and be very confident talking to one another.now my question for you,
1.are u sure ur wife is not bored
2.do u still take her to nice places or u stopped because ur now married
3.do u still show her much love, buy her gifts, give her massages when she complains of being weak or tired or did you stop all the love because you now have her. These are the new things a new guy would definitely give her because he wants to get down with her but when she gets enough from you if she is contented there is nothing those guys will wana offer that will freak her.try to spark up ur relationship, ignite her feelings.
4.as som1 said earlier boundries, you failed to create boundries
5.you should give her the impression,ur her very best friend and she should be free to tell u any thing,if u guys re having issues and she doesn't want to talk physically she can whatsapp u and tell u exactly how she feels rather than tell an ex or a new guy.she needs to stop trusting people excessively in this country with the way things re going, what if the man's wife came in and met her in his kitchen and gave her the beating of her life or his relatives perhaps,or he kidnaps her or use her for rituals coz she barely knows him so well.yet she trusts him enough to go to his house and cook without telling u,if she had even cooked in ur house and called him to come pick it up and introduce him to u would have been better and would have even proven her innocent of cheating.
It's never too late,as some said set boundaries, tel her to stop every communication with any ex or the new guy or else she should go meet them. if she continues then threaten her with a divorce when it's beyond you and see her reaction,if she is unremorseful go further by calling a lawyer (just for shakara) so she will know ur serious,if she still loves you or wants the relationship she would change.i wish u d best.
shatap my friend. We are talking marriage, not boyfriend and girlfriend..this is why marriages are failing.ladies now expect an African man to behave like a European..my parents have been married for over twenty five years now,and counting.neither my dad or mum cheated, because they did it in an African way..woman fear God oh.

FamilyRe: The Culture Of Wedding Ring And Its Meaning In Nigeria by misreal(m): 4:02am On Jul 12, 2015
amakoro:
Wedding ring signifies bond, everlasting love, togetherness till death do you part. It is the gift couple present to each other to bind their vows.

Most couples cherish the instant when they slip a ring on their partner. They look into each other eyes, knowing the fact they will be together from that day on. What most people don’t know is that this has been taking place for years and revolves around the giving of wedding rings. The implication and symbolization behind wedding rings is enormous and as complication as its own love story. I decide to write on this so that couples understand exactly why they exchange wedding rings.

The circle form which means forever, eternity, with no beginning or end, not only to Nigerians, but many other ancient cultures. The hole in the center of the ring also has its own meaning. It wasn’t just considered a space, but rather a gate way or door, leading to things and events both known and unknown. To a give woman a ring signifies never-ending and immortal love.

In Nigeria the culture of exchanging wedding rings was introduced by the missionaries. Our traditional marriages even till today do not recognize the wedding ring as a symbol of forever love. No wonder some religious group especially deeper life bible church etc do not use wedding rings. They use the bible as the gift they exchange with each other instead of a wedding ring. Their reason is based on the fact that the culture of wedding is pagan in nature and is not biblical inclined – According to then God almighty do not recognized it.

HISTORY OF WEDDING RING AND THE MEANING

As we all know the circle has always been significance from ancient culture to the present as a symbol of wholeness and perfection. Its endlessness is the perfect symbol of oneness and unity, no beginning, no end – what more could couple need than the unclouded wish to spend all time together? Some can go as far engraving romantic phrase within their wedding rings.

Early on, the caveman bound himself to his mate with a cord of woven rushes as a symbol that their spirits were one.

Ancient European Northern believed that a lover’s knot was a symbol of love, faith, and friendship. The knot was formed out of the hair of the beloved, woven into a knot that was then worn as a ring.

The roman’s also eventually adopted this tradition but with own twist. Rather than offering a ring to a woman as a symbol of love, they awarded them as a symbol of ownership. Roman men would claim their woman with the giving of a ring. Roman betrothal rings were later made of iron and called “Anulus pronubus’’.

Wedding ring came into use in Christian ceremonies about 870; even then, it was not the simple plain band as we know it today. It usually was highly decorated with engraved doves, lyres, or two linked hands. The church discouraged such ring as 'heathenish' - Believing on other gods. Around the 13th to 16th century, wedding and betrothal rings were considerably simplified, and given a more spiritual look which was very aptly expressed by a Bishop when he dubbed “symbol of the union of hearts.”

The habit of wearing the wedding ring on the fourth finger of the left hand is based upon a Grecian fable that the artery from that finger flows directly to the heart.

The wedding ring was also used as a symbol in Egyptian culture. The wedding band is mentioned in the hieroglyphics on walls of tombs interpreted by archeologists. Egyptian bands are usually heavy metal, encrusted with precious or semi-precious stones. In contrast, the average Roman citizen is reputed to have found “ugly metal bands” to suffice.

IN CONCLUSION there is a saying that says “The more expensive the material, the more love shown to the receiver; the value of the ring also demonstrated the wealth of the giver”.
