MichaelSokoto: The Peoples Democratic Party has told President Muhamamdu Buhari and his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, that cutting their salaries will not be the only thing Nigerians are expecting from them. Rather, the party said the President and his party, the All Progressives Congress, must strive to fulfil their electioneering promises. Moreover, the party said that salary is a mere drop in the ocean of personal allowances and privileges that come to the president. The main opposition party, which had been ruling Nigerian since 1999 until it was defeated during the last general elections, also said rejection of official cars by the President won’t be enough to sway the expectations of the voters from the new government. National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, stated this in a statement he signed in Abuja on Tuesday. The President and his deputy on Friday, announced 50 per cent cut in their own salaries. The President also, on Thursday, rejected new bullet proofs cars worth over N400m. While Metuh said that the PDP appreciated the gestures by the President, he insisted that the APC was over-dramatising the achievements of the Federal Government. Metuh therefore warned Buhari against celebrating what he called “cosmetic governance.” Metuh said his party believed that there was a need to bring to the President’s notice certain indices, he said, if not properly corrected, were capable of derailing the smooth running of his (Buhari’s) administration. He said in the statement, “It is incontrovertible that instead of focusing on the promises you made to Nigerians and on policy thrusts that will move our economy forward, the ruling party has been made to be very high on propaganda, deceitful engagement and cosmetic governance. “We believe you should extricate yourself from these agents of propaganda who continue to believe that Nigerians would be swayed by these cosmetic interventions instead of real business of government. “As the leader of the most populous black nation in the world, we believe you should not allow your Presidency to be pushed into the gimmicks of playing to the gallery and attempting to use the dramatisation of promissory notes and pledges by foreign interests, false premature claims of victory against insurgency. “Dramatisation of salary cut and rejection of official cars, all to gain cheap popularity and create an impression that the government is on course when in the actual fact, the new administration has not been able to locate a bearing since its inauguration in May. “While we appreciate the symbolic gesture by Mr. President in ‘cutting’ his N14 million annual basic salary by 50 percent, it should be noted that Nigerians would not be wavered by the N7million annual donation and rejection of official cars, and forget their expectations for the implementation of his long list of campaign promises for which he was elected into office.” Metuh added that the Presidency should know that “these orchestration,” no matter how populist it may seem, does not in any way address the burning issues of employment, alleged worsening security situation and decline in the economy. He said the President should also be aware of the continued slide of the Naira which, he said, has dipped from under N200 to the dollar in May to an all time low of N238 under the APC administration among others. Moreover, Metuh said that Nigerians cannot therefore be deluded by impressions aimed to make government appear to be on course when, he said, it has only been a case of what he called all motion, no movement, spiced with unnecessary excuses. He said Nigerians are now agitated that this government has failed to hit the ground running as it promised. For example, he said they had been complaining about the inability of the President to unveil his cabinet two weeks after his inauguration. Besides, he said two months after, the President has not been able to decide on key appointments such as ministers, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, a Chief of Staff and advisers in key sectors of the economy. Metuh said Nigerians are still eager for information regarding the five million new jobs, monthly N5,000 each to 25 million poor citizens, monthly allowance to discharged but unemployed Youth Corps members, free meals to school children and bringing the Naira to the same value with the dollar; among other promises upon which you and your party gained access to power.

A young soldier after returning from UN mission bought a fairly used car and the gf whose father is an old soldier was always in the front seat (@ least for the 1st few days after its arrival). One day the young soldier was driving his gf and some of her gfs around and the girl says "Buba, dis car is hot, e nor even get AC" and the soldier replies "shebi na d same work me and ur papa dey do, e get bicycle? U and ur dirty friends make una gerrout of my car". He made sure they got stranded that day . |

EduRegard: Skimming through the topic, most probably what flashes through your mind is “How is that possible”, Of course it is very possible if you know how to manipulate your ways, but get ready to succumb to one, more or all of the following conditions :
Get Ready To Spend : Since you are feeling somehow too huge to lift a pot and strike a matchbox, get ready to stroll into the abode of mama put and spray some cash to get some stuffs into your ever-worried belly. This is not an easy task though, imagine you eating three times with a purchasing power, calculating it at a rate of #200 per meal if you are not a glutton affiliate, summing up to #600 per day, invariably #4,200 per week and an aggressive aggregate of #16,800 in a month!! COME! Grab a seat and sit next to me, how much is Nigeria’s minimum wage??Leave that aside, how much does it cost to set up a pure water factory somewhere at the backyard of this street?? Imagine you saving that sum for a couple of months, my guy you are already a business man. Ruminate on that. Shoutouts to those guys that do the cooking, not all of you do not have the money to spend but it’s cool to plan your future right from time.
Get Ready To Beg : You know blue blood is not running through your vein and you don’t want that pot to leave a black spot on your skin?? Then let me give you some tactics on how to survive without doing the cooking,by begging. Go to Youtube and download a couple of Basketmouth comedy videos, cram as many as possible, this might take you days to do so. Wake up and scout the person that is cooking out, walk up to him and give him a friendly handshake while you shout ” My Surest Dude! How Your Night Na”, avoid the usage of pure English so it won’t sound like you are forming phonetics, do not leave the guy’s hand after the handshake though, keep shaking him like he just won golden boot and you are to present it to him, then sharply look around for a circumstance that will befit one of the jokes in your head, throw the joke in the air and laugh hysterically as you crack it, remember, laughter at times stimulates laughter… The condition is straight, if you are a dry comedian, you cracked it at the wrong time, or your joke doesn’t seem funny , then you need another means of getting food. Else, he laughs and probably other roommates join in the process, I must say “You don hammer!”, just sit back and wait for the food to get done, then echo the statement “Guy I dey chop o”, you have a 70% chance of eating part of the food. Just note that this tactics wont last you more than five times before they get to know the kind of human being you are. But why should you go through the whole long process of If’s and Else’s like you are writing python syntax, just for something as simple as “Eating”, it will soil your dignity for sure and very soon they will start insulting you with the punchline, they might even compose personal anthem for you, depending on the category of roomies you have in your possession. So, get off your high horse, head to the market, get some food stuffs and COOK!!!
Get A Rich Girlfriend : Laughter flows through my pen as I hold it tightly and script down this point. It has no guarantee, but just in case, it must be mentioned but no details. When a typical girl nowadays won’t follow you for a stroll if you don’t get her something like suya to mix her saliva, then you will need to offer her the heart of Mother Theresa before you make your own offer of “Cook For Me”. She will definitely have to love you, and if you are not loveable, then this option is not meant for you, scroll to the next. This will definitely affect your dignity as well and it will hardly last long as someone close to the girl will one day mention “This your boyfriend is broke sha o, na everytime e dey chop 4 here“. Oooops! That’s not the best idea, if you already have this mentality then clear it off your mind, it’s abusive.
Get Ready To Starve : Extracting what starving means, in case you don’t know, it means to suffer severely or die from hunger, to be undernourished, malnourished and to experience a concentrated feeling of near-death discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food, coupled with the desire to but nothing to eat. No simple British English can describe it comfortably, everything is huge and scary, for you to know that starving is not even a considerable option for a normal human being. You will see books and wont be unable to read as they will seem like uneatable chops, you will experience nights filled with nightmares, that’s when you will realize that all cats are gray in the dark, you will walk on the street and get shaky and dangling in the direction of the wind like a drunk monk, then you will know the effect of food on your stamina. But I think at that moment, nobody will tell you to get a pot before you do, even if there is no cooker, you might decide to place it under the hot sun, that’s when you will realize that food is the enhancer of human brain.
Conclusively, all points made but the fact remains the same and it’s obvious it’s not easy surviving without cooking on a Nigerian campus, it’s always better to do, it saves your spending and also reduce your dependency.

On Tuesday the Management of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced that Nigeria had achieved a new electricity transmission peak of 4545MW through its national network.
The Nation notes that according to the statement by Seun Olagunju, the General Manager on public affairs, the feat was achieved at 21.45hrs on Monday. The previous power transmission peak of 4517MW was attained on December 23, 2012.
READ ALSO: OPINION: Why Buhari Must Deliver On Electricity
Previously TCN informed that electricity wheeling to the Distribution companies has improved to over 4000MW due to improvement in fuel supply to the power generation plants.
The organization says that it will continue to work towards enhancing its power wheeling capability and reliability of the network to be able to deliver more quality electricity from the Generation plants to the Distribution companies nationwide.
TCN Managment states:“Expanding this support both bilaterally with the individual countries and to the Multinational Joint Task Force, which the Lake Chad Basin countries and Benin are in the process of standing up to coordinate their counter Boko Haram campaign.”
Reuters estimated that Nigeria, with a population of around 170 million, has installed power capacity that fluctuates between around 6,000 to just over 7,000 MW, but experiences severe electricity shortages that are crippling its growth.
