softsparky: I am not criticising Nollywood, I'm just stating some things that are odd when am watching their films. imagine say papa dey come back from travel and he drives into the compound, you go see how his wife go rush go hug am and the kids go sit down de look the man like Tv (na there papa oo) na the man go go meet them begin dey touch them for head dey ask questions like, Junior how are you? did you miss your daddy? ........and the kids go de look another direction. but for oyibo film they go act am so well you go even think say them be real family. sometimes we go wait for film to end then check their names to confirm. seriously, especially yoruba movies |

Dannylux: I don't expect much from them.. low budget, short time casting, more quantity - lesser quality. It's all about the damn money.
You gotta give the public what they will pay for. Those who patronize them don't seem to be bothered with the delusions.. so why would they change?
Most of us who have been actively watching Hollywood movies, sci-fi can hardly be impressed with what we see in Nollywood. Even when they do It's just for the comedy. u ar right. Imagine nollywood acting a film lik Thor? Hw will dey go abt it? Who will play dat role? The thought alone its hilarious. |

Sodiq3: FG deposits N200bn varsity infrastructure fund in CBN -Govt DECEMBER 3, 2013 BY KAMARUDEEN OGUNDELE, ABUJA 8 Comments The Federal Government said it has deposited the N200bn promised as funding to universities into an account with the Central Bank of Nigeria. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, and the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Julius Okojie, confirmed this on Tuesday. The amount is meant for the renewal of infrastructure in public universities in the country. Okupe, who featured on Channels Television programme ‘Sunrise Daily’, said from the government’s perspective, everything that needed to be done had been done. According to him, most of the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities have been agreed upon at the 13-hour meeting the union had with President Goodluck Jonathan which ended in the early hours of October 4. He said, “At the end of that meeting, the Government proposed that everything that has been agreed should be put in a memorandum of agreement and that the two parties should sign, but the leadership of ASUU declined and said instead of that, they would rather have a letter of comfort expressing everything that has been resolved therein, and that will suffice for them.” Okupe stressed that the attitude of the ASUU leadership showed that the seed of discord and evidence of bad faith already existed. “It is unfortunate that somebody died but notwithstanding, that cannot be a justification for delaying the implementation of an agreement for 21 or more days,” he said. Also at a press conference in Abuja, Okojie, who also confirmed that the money had been deposited in CBN, said the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, had confirmed to him that the N200bn had been deposited in the Central Bank of Nigeria. so wat is d problem nw, y havnt d strike been called off |

alcuin: I don't understand your question.
All I'm saying is that we, the students and parents, are paying our prices for this ASUU battle. ASUU should pay it's price also by forfeiting the four months salary.
Demanding to be paid when no work is done is unjust and an insult to me, personally. ASUU wont cave and dey aren't d only ones affectd, d students are d ones fillin most of d effect. |

You cannot eat your cake and have it. Every battle has it's price.

coded80: i know what am saying about unilag, i have been living in bariga very close to unilag for the past 25yrs and i have so many relatives who graduated from unilag some of them are even working in unilag admission office but that doesn't mean that i should not say the true. the fact is that no university that doesn't have students who have won a competition before, so all this are just few compared to that of ui and oau. it does not rily mata which is d best so far a student knw wat he or she came to schl for dere is no schl witout bad student oau and ui are not as exposed as unilag dats y dey may hav better students but this tin is all about d student. |
