Good evening mamas, please is there anyone using LSHS here for delivery in a general hospital?

I want to ask if the LSHS covers for all fees or we will be paying a certain amount.

Safe delivery to us all by God's grace.
That is what i use in gbagada it covers all then when they want to discharge you, you pay for feeding that is all. But you still need to buy injection and drip if need be o. I paid 500 naira only for sms charges instead of the normal money people are paying

I heard that lying on the floor on your left side and kneeling to clean a floor instead of the normal standing to mop helps. But I think it Is just old wives tale. But even if you want to try it and you are not comfortable just stop.

Most of those external turning doesn't end well in most cases.

your baby can still turn, even if it didn't happen just go with the Cs, all that matters at the end is you and your baby being alive, not the mode of delivery.
Okay thank you so much have been sleeping on the floor too

Dear Mama's, since 3 days I have been experiencing malaria symptoms and contractions at 34wks and 3days. I refused all advances by DH and my people to go to the hospital to have LO myself checked. Around 1pm yesterday, it got worse and I started feeling feverish and since I was at my family's house, my mom forcefully called a nurse close to the house to check me. She gave me antimalaria drugs (3 tabs) with paracetamol because I am pregnant. I told her about the contractions and she checked if my cervix was dilated or getting ready for labour (so painful cos I struggled and she didn't use lubrication embarassed). She said it was just preparations by my baby and I wasn't in labour yet. After she left, I started feeling strong contractions which I knew something went wrong from the check. I beared and this morning I felt better, no more temperature or fever till past 7pm whoo. A tingling sharp pain appeared in my left hip close to my waist, then the fever thing started again. I couldn't bear the pains and by past 10, we left for the hospital and I was checked by the Dr and he said, it wasn't labour, it was false contractions and I had to be admitted and given drip with injections and Tablets. Fast forward to 2 hrs later when my mom and little sis had gone home, I had to pee. DH took me to the restroom and on the 2nd trip I tripped and fell on the bathroom floor with my upper back hitting the tiled floor edge of the restroom so hard, the drip needle came out of my hand and blood came gushing. The nurse ran in, she and DH got me up and the drip was reset. Baby has started kicking again, I know she is fine in Jesus name. My due date is June 28th. Please Mamas and daddys pray for me and my lo. I'm still in the hospital currently on the drip. Feeling dizzy just wanted to update y'all.

May the lord keep you and the baby safe you will come here to share your own testimony. No complications ijn. It is well with you and the baby amen

TURNING A BREECH BABY

The safest and most natural way for baby to be born via vaginal delivery is head first. As you approach baby’s due date, she will begin to turn “upside down,” so that she will be born head first.

When baby is positioned feet first, or sitting “right side up”, we call it breech. In 90% of cases, a breech baby will have to be delivered via C-section [1].

When should we worry about baby’s position?

Around week 37, baby is typically already so big that she cannot turn over on her own. There is not enough room in utero. When it happens that she is breech at this point, your doctor may prescribe an external obstetric coup, where he or she will try to turn baby by placing hands on your abdomen and manipulating her position [1]. This can be painful.

At week 28 of pregnancy, one in four babies is breech. This decreases to 15% of babies at week 32 and 3-4% of babies at the time of labor [2]. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of waiting on baby to turn.

I don’t want to wait that long. Can I do something else to help baby turn?

Note that when a doctor turns baby at the hospital with the proper equipment and precautions, the success rate is 86%. But there are alternatives. Studies show that methods like yoga and acupuncture have a success rate of 65% [3].

Alternative methods are explored not only from anxiety to ensure baby’s health, but also because they can be more cost effective than waiting until late in pregnancy and utilizing hospital resources. A simulation showed that acupuncture performed at week 33 on an expectant mama with a breech baby yielded a 20% increased chance of baby turning, versus doing nothing. The researchers noted that the cost of stimulating mama’s pinkie toes (via moxibustion) was significantly lower than the cost of a C-section [4].

How do these alternative methods work?

Most of the studies on acupuncture focused on moxibustion. Moxa is a cone or stick of ground up mugwort leaves which is burned at or near acupuncture points. It is believed to work by stimulating the adrenal cortex, changing blood levels of estrogen and prostaglandin. This increases the sensitivity of the uterus and stimulates baby’s motor activity. In other words, it makes baby active. Once baby is active, she may find her way to a head-first position [3].

You can imitate this technique at home by applying ginger paste to your pinkie toes at bedtime. Your toes should feel warm, and baby should start to move around more. There are no reported risks with this method [3].

Doctors and midwives also recommend yoga poses such as a bridge, where you lie down and then raise your pelvis as high as you can toward the ceiling, using the rest of your body for support. However, there is no evidence yoga poses have either a positive or negative effect on breech presentation [3].
Thank you so much mama i appreciate it i just pray my baby turns i want to experience the normal delivery

I had my baby turned from breech at 38weeks while the scan was reading 40weeks,though the doctor actually said if I were a first timer,he wouldn't have done the external cephalic version, and should the baby change back to breech, that he will turn her to cephalic when I've dilated to about 6cm and have the water broken so as not to allow her change position.
okay God bless you because they told me in gbagada to come and pick date for elective Cs because my baby is at breech position and am just 36 weeks gone they ask me to come next week Thursday to book with the surgeon. That is y am asking if they can change the baby position

Good morning Mama's.
Please I need your help.

I have a relative baby that is in the hospital, and I needed prayer for that child. Though I am not the mum, but the arrival of that child, brought me hope that God would bless my womb very soon.

He is currently on admission in an hospital.

Please Mama's, just say a word of prayer for this boy, I believed when women prays miracles happen, please say some prayers for this child, and I know God would honour our faith.

Safe delivery and happy bumping to every mama here.
May God face be shown on him he will receive strength from above ijn amen

B.S! (Birth Story)

I already shared my pre pregnancy journey with the house. So I would go straight to my labour experience.
I had been seeing mucus since I clocked 36 weeks but since I googled & saw that one can start seeing Mucus weeks before labour, I relaxed my mind and decided to go with the flow
I went for my ANC on Friday morning which was on the 23rd of April, 2021. After my appointment, I followed a friend to window shop for her baby things. On getting home I noticed a brown sticky discharge like mucus I knew it was the mucus plug but since there was no water I relaxed.

Later in the evening, while preparing for iftar, I noticed a bang sound in my vj after which water followed. I called hubby who wasn't around, he came & we headed to the hospital at about past 9.
I was checked and was told I was 3cm. I was placed in the labour ward, at first I was timing the contractions but my fellow belleful mamas, it got to a time I dumped my phone and held the bed at every contraction.

At about 12:30, the urge to push came, and the nurses were surprised like I was lieing, I was checked and confirmed to be full. I was told to walk to the labour room, which was were the real deal was.
I couldn't push oooo... the matron abused me tire, that I'm not a first timer why can't I push. She no know say pregnancy no know customer.

At about few minutes to 1 o'clock, I pushed and my prince came out screaming out loud. The tear I got was not from this planet, and the matron said it's because I didn't cooperate.
Thankful for life and the new born.
May God make it easy for everyone.

Don't be worried mama.
As at 34+weeks my baby was still breeched. But by 37 weeks he turned. There's still time though it's better to start trying some things that might work.
Like sleeping on the floor...I totally abandoned the bed and took to the floor. I also pointed light, played music etc. When the baby turns, you'll know.
All the best and safe delivery to you all.
thank you so much mama i appreciate

I guess you are not active here oo. I've posted this before that people don't need to worry. My first baby turned at 37 weeks and I gave birth vaginally at 41 weeks 3 days. My second baby which I had 2 weeks ago turned at 36 weeks + and I had him at 38 weeks +. Pls there is still time. You are just 34 weeks..baby will turn. You don't need to cry at all. There is nothing g u can do to change the position, baby will turn automatically unless there is something preventing it most especially fibroid blocking cervix or so, if not then baby will turn...it only takes few seconds for baby to turn
okay mama thank you so much

Hey teamie! Don't cry o. I'm a FTM too. Baby was breached at my 33weeks scan. The doctor wasn't worried at all. He said the baby will still turn, that there's still time. I called my mom, she said the same thing. There's no need to worry at all. When I went back at 35 weeks, behold, the baby's head was down! You have about 6 weeks left. Don't worry, baby will turn. I didn't do anything about mine. But I heard that sleeping on the floor can help. You can try that. But don't worry yourself.

Thank you so much i will try sleeping on the floor

All these Nigerian doctors sef.

There are so many ways to turn a baby in the womb that doctors should be aware of. Anyways I believe the baby will still turn, have you tried playing music near the base of your womb, so it may encourage baby to want to put his head where the music is.

I will try it ma

The journey of ttc started in 2018 after marriage, the last thing I ever expected was to look for a child. Fought several battles from infection, to ovarian cyst, to irregular menstruation, to low sperm count, spent Hundreds of thousands trying to conceive. To cut the long story short in September 2020 I went to work as an adhoc staff in my states election, I was already 4 days late on my period before traveling to the village I was posted to officiate , I didn't see being late as anything cos I've been 5 and 6 days late yet disappointed before so I travelled with my sanitary pad. After the election and returning home I discovered I was having a fever I complained to DH and he was like probably it's the stress from the election process coupled with the fact that I slept outside a public school field. The night of my arrival from the election, DH was trying to help me arrange my bag I came home with and noticed I didn't use my sanitary pad, he asked and I told him I just noticed that I didn't see my period. Next day I told him I needed to treat malaria but he insisted I take a pregnancy test first he bought me test strips that turned positive for the first time after ttc for 2 years. And so the journey to mother hood started . First trimester was a smooth sail apart from heart burn and constipation no morning sickness or nausea what so ever. Second trimester was the smoothest sail, I could eat and sleep with ease, third trimester came with sleeplessness and waist pain.

On Sunday 2nd of May I had two contractions at night By dawn of Monday the pain started coming and going with very irregular timing sometimes 1hr, 30 mins, 2hrs in-between, I went to the salon to make my hair yet the contraction kept on coming and going . I called my matron and she told me to come in for checking by 2pm the following day considering that my EDD was still 10 days away. Then night came ooohh God of heaven the contraction became intense and I started going to the toilet to poo with heavy contractions..after going to the toilet 3 times within 6 contractions in two hours , by 1am I called my matron again, she asked if the contraction were close in timing? I said NO, if they were 5-15 mins apart? I said NO, if I had seen my water? I said NO, if I had seen my mucus plug? I said NO... She still said "owk just watch out for those signs you can come in by morning let me check you".. the next time I had a contraction that made me go to the toilet by 2:13am , I checked and I saw a transparent mucus with blood stain, I didn't bother to call my matron back ,I just made up my mind to wait till morning. After seeing the plug, the pains intensified and I couldn't sit or stand through the contraction anymore. If I was standing, the pains would bring me to my kneel.. I continued bearing the pain till 4:30am I went to wake hubby to get ready I needed to go cos the pains were becoming unbearable. By 5am we were out of the house the drive to the hospital was 35 mins as free as the road was. I had three heavy contractions with pains that spread from my back lower waist to the front during the drive. When we got to the hospital I couldn't move my legs to come down from the car. When the pains reduced I quickly came down and tried my best to walk into the hospital. My BP was checked, then the matron came in with gloved hands around 5: 58am to check me, she inserted her hands and the next thing she was giving instructions to the two nurses with her on what and what to bring. She told me to try and climb the delivery bed then I asked " please ma how many CM?" She answered you're 6cm. I was left there to go through 3 more excruciating contractions by 6:15 am she came in to check again, as she put her hands in she said " you're 8cm, stay still I want to rupture your membrane" then I felt hot gush of water flow out" the pain of contraction that followed made me tear the hospital pillow with my teeth, Then it was time to push.. it was difficult to push through the pain, I couldn't even keep my legs up. I pushed through 5 contractions in total and my baby was out by 6:56am by my husband's check weighing 3.9kg with no tears just a minor bruise. The pains made the time so long I thought it was even 7 or 8am.

God be Praised
He changed my status free of charge

BS BS BS

I have been ttc after my last child, but no show, so I decided to stop trying and reduce my weight a bit cus I was weighing 97kg..surprisenly the following month I missed my period, na so pregnancy enter oo.

Through out the first trimester it was hell for me, I hardly eat, sometimes a day will pass without eating, in fact the Ms was terrible..
Fast forward to second and third trimester , I enjoyed the bump no more sickness.. Until when I went to antenatal and my pb was 140/100...but with my previous pregnancies it's usually 110 or 120..

At 39 weeks I checked my bp in a pharmacy and it was 180/90...
I quickly rushed to the hospital it was around 7 pm... The doctor checked and said my bp was high... So he said since am due, that I have to be induced... He gave me some drugs for the bp and also a bottle of Castor oil, he said I should finish the whole bottle an hour after dinner, then come back the following morning for proper induction (that's if I didn't fall into labor)... Hmmm that night wasn't funny oo, I went to loo more than 8 times, it remained for me to excrete my intestine... I was so weak and was having little cramps..

When I got to the hospital in the morning , he checked and my bp was 150/80, he admitted me, I told them that am not feeling any labour pain, and I was 2cm dilated...they now gave me a hot drip that lasted from 10 am to 5 pm, yet I wasn't feeling any contraction.. Around 11 am that morning while I was still on drip, I felt like someone who has not eaten for days, I begged the nurses to help me buy food outside and they said they can't go out once on duty... So I told them to remove the drip let me find something and eat, as soon as I stood up, I passed out, that was when they rushed and got food for me, those nurses are very annoying I swear, the matron came and checked my cervix and it was 5.5cm dilated but no contraction, they kept monitoring my bp and baby's heartbeat...it was around 7pm that my husband came with better food and he stayed with me...

Around 8 pm, they gave me two injections I don't even know the name, even after the injection yet no contraction, then around 11 pm the doctor came and gave me a drug to place under my tongue... Not until 2 a.m, I started having contractions that comes every 3 minutes and lasts for 50 seconds... The pains became stronger and comes every minutes, the pains where so unbearable unlike my other pregnancies, I went to hell and came back. Those nurses left me and was gisting, they don't even come to check on me... It's my husband that goes to call them.

When it was around 6 am, I felt like a big poo want to come out, I told those nurse , one said I should poo on the bed, the other said I should not push that I will give myself tear, I kept shouting I want to poop, then I pushed and they started running Helter Skelter, one of the nurses said lets break the water, when they did that the water splashed every where.. Both of them went out again to get the delivery mat, I have pushed and the baby's head was out when they came back, they asked me to push two more times and my baby was out. I even passed out after delivery... I will never use that hospital again, the nurses are something else. My baby weighed 3.5kg , I thought I was going to have the worst tears because I pushed on my own, but right now we're 8 days today I don't even feel any pain down there.
