ReesheesuKnack: Hello my very good friend, MissJekyll (&Hyde). 1. I’m happy for you that you got your money back. Biko, do giveaway for boys, mbok.
2. Do you still think Keir Starmer’s Labour Party is more Pro-immigration than the Tories? Imagine the ‘Shege’ migrants and immigrants are allegedly seeing in the Tory regime. Oga Starmer is suggesting that the Tories are not even tightening the immigration bolts & nuts enough. Oga Starmer is promising that he will tighten the immigration even more.
For now, it’s only the SNP that is promising to further open the immigration doors and throw the keys to the gate away, or even, demolish the gate completely.

You do not agree there's a benefit to studying the past? That course sounds very exciting. |

He ll be calling you a Arrow ,next. Dude must have lived all his life on the politics thread. toughest007: The picture is totally clearer to me now! But please, stop using the 'vulgar' words. I understand your angle, the abuse isn't necessary. If you don't like the tone of someone's comment, just ignore and pass. That's what I do and if you must respond, don't always abuse people. When you reply everyone in life and abuse them, you tend to distract yourself from relevant things and burn energy doing that.
Now, we have established you have some basic driving skills and there is a full driving lesson already booked here in the UK to enable you learn to drive here (totally different from driving in Nigeria. Don't take any lessons in Nigeria), secure your licence and continue to 'drive safely'. What other things do you need to know? I just passed my theory test and preparing for my practical driving test. Totally different culture (and way way safer) to driving in Nigeria! |

deept: Hi missjekyll,
If it were up to you, what will your policy on immigration be? Open the gates and let everyone in? Immigration is good, but too much immigration can be a problem. I would link immigration to the manpower needs of the country. I won't block immigration even when it's as clear as the nose on my face that I need them. |

Demmybim: Hello house.
Thanks for tour assistance. Pls I need clarification. My husband does business.. solar inverter installation, but the business isn't registered. He receives all business proceeds into his personal account. My daughter and I applied for uk tourist visa and was given. Now he's decided to join us for summer but I'm the one sponsoring the vacation. Pls is it sufficient for him to use his personal account and i also submit my salary account, payslip and I cam get a reference letter for him from my organisation. We have landed documents as well. Pls kindly advise 🙏
Is EFCC aware........ 😁😜
How good are the figures in your savings, interpolating with your salary, lifestyle and expenses........ Would also help if you submitted your own personal current account (not unless your day 2 day funding, is executed from your savings account......... Yea this will likely be a straight refusal. Using husbands account: irregular large deposits. Business not registered so no evidence it exists. You sponsoring: they ll find it odd that an adult with a family isn't working. Unless you are making oodles of money enough to sponsor everyone comfortably .Also ,this "unemployed " adult travelling with entire family leaving no ties at home. Likely he won't join this year however can join next year. If he registers his business then starts paying himself a salary from the business into a personal account. |

jedisco: Rishi was always going to have his work cut out. He was swimming against the tide. He's clutching at anything to save him but truth be said, he has brought some uncomfortable issues to the table e.g a longterm sick, deterrence to small boat crossings e.t.c most of which Labour has given catch phrases and people have glossed over cos 'the tories must leave'
Right from Windrush, to healthcare workers in the 60's/70s, to joining the EU/early 2000 wave, to stopping and restarting PSW visa, to Brexit and recently the care route, the UKs approach has been reliably circular. Get in immigrants when a crunch or low growth hits and then a complete 360 a few years later. It oddly seems to occur roughly every 8-10 years. Long term sick ehn, I had a 60 Yr old lady 3 yrs on the list for a hip replacement. She is in constant pain, Her GP has had to increase her pain relief to Regular morphine. She is now an addict because of the tories. Tell me again about longterm sick. The 7.6 million on that waitlist are human beings. They can be treated and go back to work but sunackered doesn't want to hear about that. It's easier to demonise the long-term sick. I ve applied for Annual leave on July 5th. Zahra29: Elphick isn't standing as an MP.
Diane Abbot was suspended for a misguided article in which she claimed that Jews (who experienced one of the worst genocides in history, and modern day antisemitism) hadn't experienced racism. She is an iconic figure none the less and paved the way for the many black female MPs present in the Labour party. She defended a rapist, was rabidly anti immigrant. She is a headbanger. I have nothing against reasonable conservatives like fayeed warsi. I follow a few of them on twitter. I ll never see eye to eye with that Natalie. Yuck |

Zahra29: Being concerned about rising levels of immigration doesn't automatically make one a racist. If so then your party leader and shadow home secretary and others in the Labour party could also be called racist. Asylum seekers are just one factor, there are also concerns about legal migration because of its record high levels.
Labour seem to have a reasonable stance on immigration, but it's the execution that counts. Clearly there is racism in the labour party. Natalie elphicke is now in labour while Diane Abbott is still out. I haven't doorknocked at all this year till I find out which way the wind is blowing for black women in the Labour Party. My time is very expensive, won't be wasting it. |

ReesheesuKnack: You beg to differ? Yes, you may choose to differ. But you are 1 individual in the Labour Party. I previous heard Sir Kier Starmer saying that he admits that immigration numbers are too high, and should be cut.
I think the issue is that you are (either deliberately or maybe unknowingly) conflating dingy arrivals in Dover with Airplane arrivals at Heathrow.
The issue of net immigration goes beyond small boat arrivals. I disagree with Starmer on that one. We need even more immigrants now than before. We do not have enough homegrown talent for national growth. The asylum seekers are usually what the racists point to when talking about immigration. I agree that it probably doesn't come up because there's an immigrant in the doorknocking party. I also avoid skinhead houses. Let the tories take the beating and verbal abuse. I m keeping safe |

I wonder why despite all his racist ,cruel anti-immigrant policies, he keeps dropping like a lead balloon in the poĺls. Surely if it was a core concern , it would shift the voting intentions? There is no silent majority anywhere. What you see is what you get. If the NHS goes back to 2010 standards tomorrow, Even i would vote tory. Goodenoch: 1. Migration concerns are not only about asylum seekers.
2. How many doorsteps have you been to and how many asylum seekers have you met? Enough to draw conclusions on the generality in either case?
3. Have you considered that it not coming up on doorsteps may be due to reluctance to discuss such a volatile subject with random strangers (with at least one of them being visibly an immigrant herself), and risk being considered racist or prejudiced?
You should read about the 'silent majority' trend and it'll make clearer why despite not hearing much about it on the doorsteps, divisive issues are such key electoral drivers. |

Goodenoch: Several polls have shown that immigration is one of the top issues among UK voters, so naturally it'll be a focus of his and other parties.
It's not like Labour isn't planning to clamp down on immigration either. They might seem less hardline about it now but that's only because they don't have to bear responsibility for the migration figures being announced. Once they're in and the outcry is focused on them, you'll see that they'll be talking about it a lot more, too. I beg to differ. Top issues are the cost of living crisis and the NHS. Fewer people care what's happening at Dover . Which poll are you referring to? |

Zahra29: The same US that has "in God we trust" firmly emblazoned in their motto?
The only binding document is the US constitution which firmly separates church and state. You are free to profess any religion in the US but it's never been a Christian country or any religion for that matter. Claiming that it is,as evangelical Christians do ,is fallacious
The same US where evangelical Christians were a large part of Trump's victory, not because they support his personality, but because his conservative policies on abortion and same sex are more in line with their Christian values than the Democrats? They do have a large population of evangelical "Christians ". I blame this on their never having made education a priority like the UK. Case in point, there were a few antivaxxers here but nothing compared to the US . Trump won in 2016 solely on the Electoral college which is skewed republican via gerrymandering. He lost the popular vote. Also Hilary ran a bad campaign
The same US where politicians are not afraid to pray publicly or where " our thoughts and prayers" are a normal part of their response to any tragedy (as opposed to the UK govt who will never mention prayers or God - even T May didn't, even though she is a practising Christian and the daughter of a vicar)
DEI defends your right to pray anywhere you like to whoever you like. Evangelicals want everyone to join their church. They say "thoughts and prayers " when toddlers are shot dead at nursery while blocking a ban on guns.prayers without action is not very useful now,is it
The same US that rolled back abortion rights (Roe v Wade) on moral grounds - in many states it is now illegal to have an unapproved abortion beyond 6 weeks. In the UK it is legal up to 24 weeks!!!
At 6 weeks many women do not even know they are pregnant so it's an abortion ban. There are many reasons why a woman might want an abortion. For half a century , women have been able to take this decision for themselves, Trump took that away and it ll cost him the next election.
The US is far more religious and moral (at least outwardly) than the UK and other European states. The Queen did a fantastic job as the "defender of the faith", but Charles and his descendants are not as religious as she was. I ve learnt in life that being religious is not what makes you a good person. It's the empathy in you, the humanity, putting yourself into the other person's shoes. Religion and Humanism do not always go together |

The US was founded on squarely secular foundations. Infact they were so against a state religion that it was written into their constitution. You already know what I think of Trump. Hopefully, the campaign funds trial puts him away for a while Zahra29: 💯
Republican policies are typically more rational and more aligned with the US's conservative/moral background, but they get a bad rap for not having a compassionate front (and leaders like Trump don't help the brand much) but I daresay behind the personality (and I'm not a fan of his), perhaps his policies are better for America's interests in the long run. |

You are asking a pertinent question. Why should a parent miss a day in their childs life because you want to look tough for elections? directonpc: What is wrong with someone who applied to school in the UK, and can afford the fee bringing their immediate family for the duration of their stay in the UK?
I remember as a child, my entire family had to move to a new town within Nigeria so that my mother could further her education. I know this is slightly different when the movement is across countries, but in this second case, its even more important to allow people bring their dependants.
It will be interesting to know what the abuse is and why its only allowing people to come to the UK without their family that is the solution. |

What is far left ideology? Labour used to be democratic socialism till it moved to the centre where it now sits. It's never been far left. DEI is creating a society where every single person can fully be themselves within the bounds of the law because it takes all sorts to make a society. Surely there is nothing wrong with that? Zahra29: Lol at the system in Japan, but definitely food for thought (pardon the pun 🙈)...the Japanese culture as a whole is more disciplined (and respectful) than here.
I agree that the Tories have a more reasonable stance when it comes to education and gender issues (compared to Labour who I fear will pander to every far left ideology). If only we could blend the 2 main parties together.... |

Zahra29: The bolded is one of the reasons the Tories will lose the election - because many people remember how much better the NHS was 15/20 years ago before the Tories came in and started defunding public services.
One of Labour's key pledges is to improve/transform the NHS ,including waiting lists, so no-one is saying we settle for things remaining as they are.
Cases are usually triaged and urgent/life threatening cases (and minors) are not left waiting in A&E or on 2 year waiting lists. Anyone here been diagnosed with cancer or diabetes or hepatitis or sickle cell or heart disease etc etc and had to wait 2 years to start treatment?
The NHS isn't perfect, I completely agree, and there is an element of post code lottery that determines the quality of treatment some areas receive, which isn't fair.
However, on the whole it is very good considering the limited resources and increasing pressures it is faced with. Sorry to burst this bubble,Zahra . Even cancer now has a waiting list. The NHS you obviously love is not there anymore. I do believe we can get most of it back. It's the best thing about the UK. |
